Hello, My customer have 30 Windows workstations with Adobe Premier Pro. They are now dowloading video files from NAS server to the workstation, working on that files and when the job is done files are uploaded back to the NAS. They are looking for storage that will allow them to edit files on-line on shared storage without dowloading/uploading files. So i'm looking for information about requirements for shared storage from performace perspective IOPS, block size, read/write ratio and required network bandwidth and other things to consider during designing storage solution for that use case. Theay are using now ucompressed 8k and plan to use 16k video. Is there any Adobe guide or recomendations on that topic? 

Last year I posted about problems I was having with profiles generated by Palette Master Element (PME) on the BenQ SW2700PT.  I thought I'd post an update on my findings as it might help other owners of the SW2700PT and hardware calibrated monitors in general.  My monitor is a couple of years old and was updated with firmware version V004 20161006, in case that's a factor.  For calibrating I'm using the i1 Display Pro.It's necessary to understand that colour management of a hardware calibrated monitor is not handled in quite the same way as a 'conventional' monitor.  I think this could be one reason why people report having profile problems.  It's probably obvious to some but it's clear from the discussions I had on the Color Management Forum that it can be a bit of an intellectual challenge if you're set in your thinking of how colour management 'should' work.  I'll admit, I didn't get it at first.  I think BenQ could do more to educate users, rather

I'm experiencing a lot more chop than usual during playback.OpenCL is correctly being detected and selected for my project:However, during playback my graphics card is barely being utilised (Radeon RX 550), while my CPU is maxed out at 100% (Intel i7-9700).The footage is h264 and has several effects applied (Ultra Key, etc.) -- but I'm still seeing chop even when effects haven't been applied / FX is turned off (although curiously the CPU isn't  at 100%):I recently upgraded my workstation - from an 8th-gen i3 & nVidia graphics card - and performance was reasonable on the previous machine, so if anything I expected the i7 to provide a big boost in speed. I imagine the difference is down to Premiere Pro not actually using the Radeon card as task manager suggests.Any ideas on how I can resolve this? I've seen some suggestions on using the registry to disable the Intel graphics - but this is not something I can easily do on this machine. (NB: the issue in that thread is slight

If you're looking to build a top end computer with the new 10 series Intel processors and the new Nvidia RTX Titan, here's the one I designed the other day.    Normally one wouldn't have an SLI of two graphics cards for Premiere Pro, so that would be the first cost savings if one actually built this. I added two because it's purported to run 3 4K monitors, and why not?    This would provide 40TB of RAID 6 spinning disk storage, 2TB of RAID 1 for the boot drive, and 6TB of NVME SSD RAID 5, which should provide more than 10GB/s of read bandwidth and 4GB/s of write bandwidth.    The bottlenecks on this rig would be the CPU, and DMI 3.0 which only provides ~4GB/s of bandwidth between many motherboard functions and the CPU. I'm looking for a decent MacBook Pro for my son's media college course. He'll be using Premiere Pro along with other apps.  I've found a Mid 2015 2.8Ghz i7, 16GB RAM running a Intel Iris Pro 1536 graphics card, and a Mid 2015 2.5Ghz i7, 16GB RAM running a Iris Pro 1536 & AMD Radeon R9 M370X.  Both are around the right budget, can anyone foresee any problems with either or have any preferences. Hi! We're about to mix our film in 5.1 surround. I've done a bit of 5.1 mixing in Premiere and Audition and we tested it in a local theater and it sounded great but with only a 2.1 setup currently it was a lot of guessing and testing at the local theater. They were super nice to let me do that. But now I'm setting up my office to edit in 5.1 surround. I need to purchase speakers and the interface or controller to route all those speakers into and I'd love some advice. My office is 8' x 16' and has acoustic panels and  The speakers I was looking at picking up were:5 x JBL LSR305 MKII Speakers  ($99/each)JBL 310s Sub But what's a solid interface/controller option for less than $500 to run all those speakers into? Focusrite 18i20 3rd Gen?SPL SMC 2489? I've had a fairly old NV Quadro4000, and need more power as Premiere is performing very poor with Neat Video. I've not got much funds, so ordered a used NVidia QuardroK4000 with a little more power, but hoping that the doubling of the devices is going to be of some effect.Any advice for how to make double cards work effectively? Hi everyone, I was hoping to get suggestions on which type of PC (not mac) to get. I use adobe creative suite often and will soon be having to edit tons of 4K video footage in Premiere.  I don't game on my computer, so I mostly just browse the web, update websites, etc. So the main thing I need is for it to be able to be really good at handling 4k video editing. Thanks for reading.

Not seeing a forum that deals with hardware and system problems I post there with hopes that someone will acknowledge and send me to the correct forum. Unable to get the latest Mac system to acknolwedge the cintiq 24. Have installed latest drive and followed the steps by Apple twice to no avail. Have moved the display to a Mac with 14.0.1 system and it is acknowledged so know that the display is o.k. thus the system seems to be the problem.   If anyone has any clue would greatly appreciate help as I need this monitor to function in many of the apps that I use and test.   thank you!

in 2017 I bought the new macbook pro and became so frustrated with how awful it worked with Premiere pro, my imac gave me the experience which in turn forced me to buy a great PC which I love.  Now as I am about to embark on a long travel adventure am looking for an awesome laptop that I can take on the road and edit with.  I've had freinds suggest tading in my Macbook pro for the new one because it's been optimized to work with premiere pro, but I have my reservations of course.  I'm seeking help to explore what would be a great option in creating a travelling editing suite.  Any help ould be greatly appreciated!  If you had $200 to $2500 what would you buy?   [Moderator note: moved to best forum.]

Hello!I have an MSI Z390 Gaming Edge AC motherboard with an i9-990k, rtx 2080, 64 gigs of DDR4 ram. I have my OS installed on a 500gb M.2 Nvme 970 Evo Plus, and a cache folder taking up half of a 1tb 970 Evo Plus. My render times can be pretty bad. I've heard on some motherboards , or all, your read/write speeds are penalized for occupying both M.2 slots. Is there a way I can optimize the 2 drives for improvements in rendering speeds? I'm not sure if this makes a difference, but the Adobe programs (I have the whole suite) are installed on the 500gb OS drive, but I cache everything on the 1tb where I also store media files. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Daniel  

Hi guys. I wonder if there is any tutorial which describes how we should locate all Premiere Pro files, e.g. Media cache, scratch discs, footage and others files used in project, when we have more than one drive?Right now I have SSD M.2 1TB + 2x SSD 250GB + HDD 1TB (as an archive) and I would like to get the best performance in Premiere Pro/After Effects with this setup. I found a few guides, according to which Media cache and Scratch discs folders should be located on separate drive. But what if we have drives with significant speed differences (Read/write of SSD M.2 = 3500/3200 MB/s, standard SSD = 540/520 MB/s)? Thanks for your help!

Even though I enable cuda acceleration in premiere and the program recognizes the card, when I apply some effects a message appears on the screen (this effect requires GPU acceleration) does anyone know if it's on the card or in the program and how to solve it?

Hello guys   I have a AMD 3900X  32gb 3300 Ram AsRock X570 Pro4 and a Nvme 1tb Crucial p1 ct1000p1ssd8   I use a Sony A7III and record 4k 30fps 60mbs files. But i have such slow playback in the edition , to the point i rader use the laptop with a i7 8750h then the desktop. I started using proxys files for the first time but for me thats not a solution and only slow down my edition , traying to attach heach proxy files    Any update or any thing im missing here?  or Davinci resolve solves the problem?   Thanks     [Moderator note: moved to Vido Hardware forum to try to get assistance for this user.]

I built my computer back in 2014 when my focus was on Photography. I splurged on the processor(Intel Core i7-4930K 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor) thinking this would take me well into the future before needing an upgrade. 5 years later my focus is Premiere Pro and some After effects. Rendering is painfully slow despite the fact that I have 32 GB ram. I have experimented with all the various settings for export and rendering, but have not found a way out of my slooooow video editing world. Still open to advice on better settings also.My big question now is, can I bring my current build up to speed by replacing the video card(EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2 GB Video Card) or is my Mother board too old to allow such a thing?What card would be a good fit for an upgrade that would be compatible with my Motherboard? I have added an extra SSD for scratch disc and upgraded my c drive disk to 1 TB SSDI work with 4k files about half the time. Intel Core i7-4930K 3.4 GHz 6-Core ProcessorASRock X79 Ex

I'm looking at 3950x as an upgrade to my 5820k.  But dealing with 24 lanes is a bit of a headache.  I've got an old raid 5 setup for my media - an areca 1223-8i that uses Pcie 2.0 x 8. I'm toying with the idea of creating an external server and connecting via USB 3.1g2 or 10g ethernet.  Can anyone tell me how much of a performance hit I'd notice (both in terms of latency and sustained data rate) ie would timeline playback be impacted? I'm assuming I'd set it up as a Linux box, but could I do so and keep my data intact? Does it play nicely with NTFS?.  Offloading data is not an option at this point. I'd have to dump $1000 on drives.    

Hi, I currently am using a Quadro K2000 video card.  It seems to do the job.But I saw an ad for a used Palit GTX 760 2GB.  I was thinking of buying it to replaced the Quadro K2000.Is the videocard upgrade worth it?  Will I see a huge improvement in peformance when using Photoshop? COMPUTER SPEC>  I am currently using the latest Photoshop 2020 software. >  I'm using Windows 10 which is installed on a 500GB SSD drive>  computer has 16Gig of memory Any feedback on this topic is much appreciated. Thanks all!

So I am not really a pc guy that understands everything. I do know the basics. A few years back I made a custom pc for premiere pro/after effects. This is what it contains    amd ryzen 7 3700x gtx 1060 6gb  16 gb ram    I don't download junk or viruses.  But over the past year I've been editing more and I just feel like premiere pro and after effects run slower than they should.
