Title. Attempting to import a .fla gives an error stating adobe animate is not installed, even though it is. Same issue when attempting to use media encoder from after effects. Animate and media encoder are able to communicate with no issue, only after effects is having problems. Uninstalling and reinstalling after effects has not helped, uninstalling and reinstalling animate has not helped. Is there something I can change in the preferences?

Hi! I'm trying to animate a text that moves down the screen and gets shredded, just like in a paper shredder. What would be the best way to do this? What I've done so far is: 1. Made the text in illustrator and then split the text using a number of rectangles, so each layer is one "paper strip" each. 2. In after effects I've parented the position of all the text strips to a null object, so the "paper" moves uniformly down the screen. 3. Tried using the puppet tool to individually move the strips when they go through the "shredder". I find it really hard to control the strips with the puppet tool, and I'm sure there are much easier ways to do this. Grateful for any help! 

I'm getting a lot of this warning:"Your disk cache folder is on a drive that does not have enough available space to safely store the full amount specified in your preferences."My setup an settings are:AE 2018 fully updated.Disk cache is its own 500GB SSD, after clearing AE Cache, there is 400gb free space on that drive.Maximum Disk Cache Size is to to 200 GBWhy do I keep getting this message?

When I start After Effects, a dialog pops up, stating that my cache folder is on a drive that does not have enough available space to safely store the full amount specified in your preferences...How do I resolve this?I have never used the software before, so it's not as though I tampered with the setting...I used Windows 8.1PC is a Dell XPS 15 with 16Gb RAM[Moved from non-technical Forum Lounge to specific Program forum... Using after effects 2025 on Macbook pro 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GBIntel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB, Memory: 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 and running on Mac os Sonoma Version 14.6.1I keep loading up images and there pixalted and glitching, I have an imported logo and its and mov file not sture if thats the issue.

Hi all,About a hundred times a day I select a work area and then want to zoom in so that the work area fills the timeline view. Have searched high and low and can't find a way to easily do this (keyboard shortcut or otherwise), It seems like such an obvious thing people would want to do, so I'm hoping I just haven't found the shortcut. Hi After Effects Community,I’ve been encountering a frustrating issue when trying to transfer my video edits between Adobe After Effects and CapCut. I often work on complex edits and animations in After Effects, and then share the projects with collaborators who use other video editing platforms like CapCut. However, I’ve noticed that many of the effects and transitions I create in After Effects don’t translate properly or are outright missing when the video is imported into CapCut. Every time I start AfterEffects I get an error as it's looking to find my recent projects.  The error is as follows:  "Unable to execute script at line 1. File or folder does not exist."  I have not changed the location of any of my project files.  It's the same external drives I've been using for months.  When I click OK the same window opens several more times and then finally the history window opens completely blank and empty.  I am able to reopen the projects however from the RECENT PROJECTS pulldown in the top bar.  It's very odd and worrying behavior.  As well, I'm still using 13.7.2 because when I go to update it is unable to connect and gives me that error.  I sat on with Adobe support for an hour today and we couldn't figure it out.  As I'm in the middle of big projects I just decided to not update, but this error upon startup is very worrying.  Anyone have an idea what could be going wrong or how I can fix it?Many thanks

I have been using After Effects for a work project to rotoscope out some people from footage provided to me and I have done this process 6 times now but all of a sudden with this file, when I start to render and when viewing the file after rendering, the rotoscope effect is essentially disabled. The only signs that something is being rotoscoped is some small, transparent gaps in the final render. Images and export settings attached. I'm not sure what is going wrong here since I have done this many times, even a restart hasn't fixed it, help very much appreciated, thank you!

Bonjour, Je suis désespérée...Lorsque je crée un texte sous after (v23.3 maj) et que j'écris des chiffres, la barre d'écriture passe à l'avant du texte et je ne peux plus écrire à la suite... Si je rajoute du texte il passe devant les chiffres ! Je ne sais même pas comment expliquer ça tellement c'est suréaliste... Par exemple je tape 1,3 Kg mais after m'affiche Kg 1,3 à l'écran alors que sur le nom de mon calque j'ai bien 1,3 kg !!!! Je ne comprends pas du tout ce qu'il peut se passer... Quelqu'un a-t-il déjà eu ce bug? Merci de votre aide !

I've read lots of help topics trying to solve this and can't. I regularly get videos to edit or add subtitles to supplied as a .mov file, but within After Effects and when I export it looks faded like I've added a filter. I often don't notice this until the client comments, and then have to add Lumetri filters, and there's never one approach that will solve it (it starts to look to yellow or too pink when I just increase the contrast and saturation), so it can take a long time to fix. My Project Color Setting is 'None', I've tried a few others and all look worse. What can I do to avoid this happening, or solve it every time?  The screenshot shows how it looks in Preview, and it looks ovbiously faded and dull in After Effects. This is before any edits. Sometimes (like this case) there are sections with white copy, so I don't have the ability to add a tint as that makes the copy the wrong colour.

I need to export this video 20 seconds long. The files are all in place, but when I export there is a file but no way to play it. I need to turn feild rendering off. 60fps. needs to be a .mov file. I have even just tried exporting it as a draft H.264... but still won't preview or play after export. Please has anyone got a solution. Thanks, Mike

Hi, Everyboby~I have developed a plugin using the AE plugin SDK, but if the same plugin is applied to multiple layers of the same composite, there may be data conflicts and confusion. How can I solve this problem

hey i need help around exporting effect data from after effect layer or compotision to JSON. currently i am using body movin and lottie files but it's not working with any effects only core feature's are being export in JSON but i want to export effect data of MOCHA, mesh wrap , and etc.. am open to use other plugings or approach 

Is there a way I can connect anchor point from two different paths, and thereby join the paths together like I can in Illustrator? E.g. I'd like to join the two in the screengrab where they are crossing over. I can't seem to do that just by selecting the pen tool and clicking the relevant anchor points. 

I was editing and simply pressing ctrl s to save but missed and hit ctrl w and now all my 8 hours of work is gone can someonehelp

I am trying to instal some extensions onto After Effets 2021 using ZXP installer however, it keeps showing "Installation failed because the extension is not compatible with the installed applications". I am using a Macbook Pro 2020 with Big Sur 11.2.3 and the Creative Suite updated to 2021 versions of all the apps.I have deleted the ZXP installer, downloaded it again, obtained the latest version of the extension and nothing changes.Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

i was just editing until i realized it was short so i tried to to go bck to the beginning and wouldn't let me idk how to fix it. last time i fixed it but i don't remember how can someone please help me 

Hi, I'm having issues with After Efects running on a macbook pro. The application freezes at different times, for example, when moving a keyframe, or adjusting the spatial interpolation, adding an effect, etc. This freeze locks up my whole computer and forces a computer restart. I have tried deleting all plug ins, preferences, and starting in safe mode. All these efforts do not fix the issue. Any ideas? I recently encountered a persistent error in After Effects that I’d like to share for both assistance and to inform Adobe of a potential improvement area.The initial error message was:"After Effects: Memory allocation of 2.1 GB exceeds internal limits. Decrease the memory requirements for the rendering of this frame. (12802). For more information, see www.adobe.com/go/learn_ae_mem."After clicking 'OK', a second error appeared:“Image buffers of size [width]x[height] @ [depth] bpc ([n] GB) exceed internal limits...”This created an error loop, repeatedly alternating between these two messages. The core issue was that this loop made it impossible to adjust settings to reduce memory usage as advised.Complicating matters, the project saved in this error state. So, upon reopening, I was immediately faced with the same error loop, preventing any attempt to implement the suggested fixes.Fortunately, I discovered a workaround. When editing shape layer using Shape properties and transform some issues occur: 1. In Shape Properties when sizing the shape the center of transform is in the center of the object ignoring the anchor point position.2. In Shape Transform when adjusting Anchor Point the shape moves instead of anchor point.3. To change the shape from Rectange or any other predefined shapes to editable curve it always takes few clicks until the option becomes available under right click mouse button. Ideally this option should be available anytime when right clicking the predefined shape.
