In the Smart Render phase, when usingERR(extra->cb->checkout_layer_pixels(in_data->effect_ref, CHECK_OUT_INPUT_ID, &input));checking out a layer that has the AEGP_LayerFlag_LAYER_IS_3D and AEGP_LayerFlag_COLLAPSE flags results in the checked-out layer’s extent_hint being set to the full composition size. Is there a way to obtain the precise extent_hint that only covers the non-zero alpha area? The performance overhead from unnecessary pixels is significant.

Idk Ez tool script isnt moving and i dont see a bar to move it around.

My After Effects can't create Motion Graphic Template. I've tried on new, empty project with a single title and it literally does nothing after I hit "Export" button. Can't find any info in log's or smth. Verry frustrating bug.

Hi everyone!I'm working in After Effects using the Saber effect on a solid that has mask paths. My issue is that when I scale up the mask path, the Saber effect doesn’t automatically scale along with it. I can see the mask growing, but the effect stays at its original size.Is there a more streamlined way to have the Saber effect automatically follow the mask scaling, or do I need to manually adjust the Saber parameters every time? Any tips or workflows to handle this are much appreciated!Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,I’m having a really frustrating issue with text tracking in After Effects, and I can’t figure out why it behaves this way. I start by creating a text layer and, in the Paragraph panel on the right, I make sure the text alignment is set to center. I then position the text layer in the middle of the composition as usual.After that, I open the text layer properties, expand the Text options, go to Animate, and add Tracking. I animate the tracking value, for example from 0 to 5. This is where the problem appears. When the tracking increases, one letter in the middle of the text stays completely fixed, while the other letters move away from it. From what I understand, since the text is centered and the tracking is increasing, the entire line of text should expand evenly from the center, not keep a single letter locked in place.What makes this even more confusing is that this does not happen all the time. Dear Developer or adobe team. I have few question about this bug/error.I can't import photoshop file into my new after effect project. While i imports from adobe photoshop, there's an error pop up in my screen (image1). And then when i click OK, there's another error pop up in my screen (image2). But after this notification, i can't see my imported file. Just another blank file.image1image2 I have tried to uninstall and reinstall my after effects, but with same version (24.6) because my laptop stuck on this version.Device: Macbook Pro M2 8GB - OS TahoeAfter effect: Version 24.6.8 Thank you

AE is just not rendering. But when linked to Premiere Pro, it plays in there. Hi, I’ve uploaded a project to help. I’m trying to build a rig. Basically I have 24 pre-comped layers in a circular pattern parented to a null so I can rotate as a whole. They need to stay up right. I have that expression part done.As the layer enters the tigger box (range) I need that one layer in the box to scale up slightly to 75 and move in the positive x position slightly. Adjustable by slider in a controller null. I have the scale expression working. Id also like to trigger a prebuilt animation within the preComp.My issue currently is the position translation in the x axis. Programa trava e diz que está sem memória ram. Já configurei todas aspreferências possíveis e nem nem a animação mais comum renderiza. a uma semana atrás estava ótimo inclusive trabalhando com advanced 3d aqui estão as configurações da minha máquin

This has been occuring for over a year now. So it's been through multiple updates. See the video for an example of the bug in action. Description:  I want to edit an existing text layer. I click the text inside the composition window once and highlight the text I would like to change. I begin typing and the new text is added to the beginning of the text statement and not replacing the highlighted text. If I then highlight the text again, the replacment occurs as expected.  This is a huge time waste and has led to copy errors when I have been too quick to edit during short deadlines.  Anyone experiencing the same thing?  Macbook Pro M1 Max.  Sequois 15.7.3.  After Effects 25.6.4. 64GB RAM.

Hi, Ich habe eine AI-Grafik von verflochtenen Linien, diese will ich so in AE animieren, dass dann mal die eine Linie oben ist, mal die andere, also wie bei einem Knoten. Ich kann zwar ebenenweise über dein Kontu-Effekt nachzeichen, aber halt nicht ineinander verflechten. Ich habe nichts dazu im Netz gefunden. Weiß wer Rat?Danke. 

Hi everyone,  I know I am not the first one to ask this question, but I want to sync all the folders of AE that have workspace UI, all preset locations, script panels, extensions, CEP... basically, I want to back up all the stuff that makes my After Effects easy to migrate to a new system in case of a new device/emergency. I just need to know the exact folders on Mac/Windows so that I can back up those folders daily and sleep peacefully without worrying about any kind of disruption.  If there is anyone who is doing it already, kindly help me with this. 

Hi, this is probably something simple that I'm missing but I can't figure it out.  When I am in my pre-comp, my gradient works the way I want it to and the colors appear bright on both sides. The "Continuously rasterize" button is clicked on there but that doesn't seem to cause an issue:  When I zoom out to the larger comp that holds that pre-comp, it's still not an issue. The colors show up as I'd like them to (again with the "continuously rasterize" option clicked on): But when I zoom out to the main comp that holds those pre-comps, the colors are muted and different: When I click off the "continuously rasterize" star button then they show up correctly but the lettering and shapes aren't nearly as sharp.   Wondering if anyone has suggestions. I'm using After Effects 25.6.4 (Build 3)With a Macbook Pro (Apple M4 Pro chip), Sequoia 15.6.1 operating system. Thanks in advance for any help!  

Hello everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm making a lower-third graphic MOGRT and I'm having a lot of trouble getting it to animate the way I want. What I want is two white boxes, one for name and one for titles, that expand to their full size starting from the left hand side. I want them to pause for however long you need, and then retract towards the right hand side where they dissappear. I'm working with locked areas for the in and out animation leaving the middle free, and I have been playing around with different expressions to make the boxes fit the length of the name and title. Ideally I also want to add a fade in and movement to the text as the box expands. I was originally using a mask on the text and shape layer to get the movement exactly how I wanted, but immediately had trouble once I moved the MOGRT into Premiere. I have been playing around with different solutions, but my main issues still seem to be that the boxes don't want to expand beyond thei

I've animated an arc by animating the end point so it grows from nothing to about a 270 degree arc.  I'd like to have a graphic of a comet fly into the frame from offscreen toward the start of the arc and then follow it as it extends, so it looks like the comet is drawing the arc.  I can handle the fly-in, but how can I get the comet to track the extending end point?

i was making an edit when my composition preview randomely went grey. i cannot play it, hear the audio or see the clips, i have tried everything google said such as clearing my cache, reinstalling the app, restarting my PC, etc. would really appreciate some help 🙂

 Hi everyone,I am new to After Effects and currently working on a video where I want to use the 3D Camera Tracker to attach text to part of the footage. However, after the clip finishes Analyzing and Solving Camera, I am unable to select any of the tracking points in the composition panel.I have searched YouTube and followed all of the suggested fixes I found, but nothing has worked so far. I have been stuck on this issue for about a week, so I would really appreciate any help.Details:• Footage recorded on a GoPro Hero 15• After Effects version: 2025 (latest update)If anyone has experienced this issue or knows what might be causing it, please let me know.Thank you in advance!

I am working in Cinema4D and After Effects. In C4D, I have a simple plane with a cloth simulation to deform its geometry - a flag animation.  The sim has been cached, then converted to Point Level Animation (PLA) keyframes. There are no other keyframes on the model.  Here are my GLB / FBX export settings: Importing the FBX back into Cinema4D, the textures and animation play down without issues. In AE, the FBX has no Animation dropdown. The GLB does have an Animation dropdown, but it is stuck on a single frame. Textures and everything import with no issues. Essentially, everything looks fine except the flag is not animating - it is frozen on the first frame. Is this type of PLA animation possible to transfer over to After Effects? Or is this a limitation of AE? AE version 25.6C4D 25.3.3Windows 11 

I trying to make a hyperlapse video and after finishing with my tracker when i play back to check how its looking its showing this type of preview in this i'm not able to get any idea. Does anyone know how can i get ride of it. This might be a feature but i'm not sure how to use it i was using the older versions. Thanks I'm using adobe after effects on my mac mini 

Just ugraded to the latets version of 25.6.4 as of 13th jan 2026.....I cant drag any items / footage from the project window into  the time line...usless! so AE is totally unusable typical!
