Im trying to jump to URL either with a button or at end of project. It works locally but not on Oracle LMS. Thoughts?

I have new laptop - Intel Xeon(R) E-2276M 2.8Ghz, 32GB machine. Captivate 17 runs fine on my old, smaller machine.When I download on the new machine, I keep getting the error 103 that tells you to re-download and try again. Is there a magic number of times to do this? The few times I have now tried, I keep getting the same thing. Captivate has never been installed on this machine before.

HiThere have been conversations on this before, but no solution that I have found.I am publishing content with both HTML5 and Flash output. While HTML5 only content works everywhere I find the speed of the Flash content is better so prefer to have this version available to people who have Flash installed.The problem is that Captivate (even the 2017 version) doesn't seem to redirect to HTML5, but instead forces the user to an enable/install Flash page. This occurs on both Internet Explorer, Chrome, Edge, Firefox. While my content is generally loaded into an LMS, the problem exists even without the added complication of an LMS. In the LMS instead of redirecting to the Flash page, you can often just get an empty window. The content doesn't work at all on a Mac although the HTML5 content does play on iOS.I develop with Storyline as well and publish with the same dual HTML5 and Flash options which work as you would expect. I have just installed Captivate 2019 and this bug still exist from 2017,1) If you reorient your rows and columns to a horizontal arrangements, all answers will point to the one on the furthest left. See images below The items 1 - 5 were existing previously. I added 6 to the group. When trying to change the answer #6 is selected but goes to #1 orient the selections in a vertical format and #6 can be selected The selections can now be arranged in a horizontal format and #6 stays selected

Hi! So this is a pretty niche issue, but I'm hoping someone may have some insight. Basically I'm trying to control my navigation buttons (next button and back button) via an external javascript file. My buttons are .png's in my Captivate file, that I'm then calling by their ID's in my javascript file. I am also using GreenSock library to animate my buttons (a scale up and scale down on mouseup and mousedown). I have four buttons that each display text when clicked. but the issue is, I dont know how to get the text to go away when another button is clicked. All of the text ended up being piled up on one another after I clicked all the buttons in the preview.         

Hi all,I've created a project, and i added a mp4 video as event video, i exported the project in HTML5, when i test the project with index.html the full screen works fine, BUT when i publish it to our LMS platform the full screen doesn't work, I've contacted the LMS support, the configuration of the LMS is Behavior : FramesetAnd the window dimension is specified. Is there a solution to bypass this configuration and be able to have the full screen ? Thank you guys!Kind regards,Karim

Hello, I'm working with my team on a Captivate 2019 project, we are facing 2 problems: - First: Applied Effect List is empty, we can't find any effect till we add effects one by one, and when we add it each one, it's not sorted as normal (Basic, Emphasis, Entrance, Exit, Motion Path),  - Second problem : Image Fill is not working correctly, when we try to add "image fill" to a Shape, it not working unless this shape had "image fill" before (maybe made by other Captivate program )  What do you advice to solve these both issues ? is there a file maybe me or other team member change which affect these functions ?

Hello,I was publishing multiple Captivate HTML5 projects and when I uploaded them to our LMS (Cornerstone) each one crashed due to an ampersand in the metadata.xml file. I understand that the ampersand is an illegal character but I cannot locate or figure out where the VCARD info is being pulled from. I had our tech guy comb through everything he could on my PC but neither of us understand where the information is coming from. Hi there,  I'm picking up Captivate again after a several year break. I've used Stor___e (?!) a whole bunch more in the mean time. In the project I am working on, I have set up a 1280 x 720 workspace, and am building initial templates using that screen size. I ran a couple of test publishes yesterday, and was a bit worried when my browser window didn't scale up or down (it was just massively huge on my laptop.) Is there a publish setting to make the window resize (nothign responsive needed, just  that objects scale up and down as I resize trhe browser) or do I need to start from scratch with a smaller workspace size / use the responsive template? Thanks in advance for any help / advice. Seth 🙂  p.s. @Lilybiri - if you answer this - thank you, you were a star 5 years ago when I was last heavily using Captivate and I've been following your blog ever since.   Trial version of Captivate If you are using a trial version of Adobe Captivate, you cannot set the project expiry date. The expiry date, by default, is set to the date after 30 days from the day of publishing a project.   Licensed version of  Captivate Click Edit > Preferences.  In the Preferences dialog, click Project > Start and End, and enable the option Project Expiry Date. Set the date and enter the message that must appear when the project expires.                                 To save the changes, click OK.

It appears that there is no longer the checkbox option to put master slide objects on top of filmstrip objects in the 2019 version of captivate. Does anyone know how to get the master slide objects to show up on top? Did this checkbox just move somewhere else and I'm not seeing it? Thanks in advance!Amy

How can you overwrite the current captivate course in the LMS with new content and maintain the current records of learners. I am trying to keep the old course data/record of completion. When I upload the course to the LMS it just creates a new course, I need it to overwrite the old course. We are trying to update all the courses in the LMS to HTML5.

Hi Re: Captivate 11.5.1.499 on Windows 10.0.17763 I hope I can explain this correctly! I have a slide with five text entry boxes which I want the user to use one by one to work through the slide (i.e. progressing the timeline - more info appears after a correct entry into each TEB). For instance, the first TEB has text adjacent explaining the required calculation - if they enter the right number into the TEB (and click ENTER on their keyboard) I want the slide timeline to move on, showing further text below and also the second TEB and so on. Each TEB has a distinct variable and Advanced Action assigned. The Advanced Actions are quite simple conditionals - if correct, 'Continue', else show the required state of the multistate object (which provide the correct answer). I need a way to trigger the Advanced Action a second time I think? Also, for some reason, the correct answer procedure doesn't work from the second TEB onwards? That is, on first attempt I add

I recently had Windows 10 installed on my desktop at work. I then installed Adobe Captivate 2019 and Adobe CC 2019. My Pictures are on the server in the "Pictures" folder where I always keep them (Next to My Documents). I get the following error when trying to insert a picture in Captivate. (Media dropdown > Image). The Captivate error:An error occurred while loading the image. The file is damaged or the file type is not supported by adobe captivate. Adobe Photoshop gives me this error:Cannot open the selected item because the file could not be found. These are pngs that I've used for several years. I can insert them just fine in Microsoft Word. I had no trouble before the installs with any Adobe product. Please advise. 

Hello. My company is *finally* moving away from ancient browsers and into this century. However, when we publish our Captivate 2019 courses in HTML and load them to our LMS to play in Chrome ot he new Edge-Chromiuim based browser, there is a blue outline around any clickable object, shape, image, etc.I tried looking through the threads here, but couldn't find anything recent that seemed to apply. Is this a setting we need can adjust in Captivate somewhere?Thanks!Captivate 2019 - 11.5.1.499

Has anyone found a way to keep leading zeros when displaying a variable in Captivate? I've tried everything I can think of from advanced actions, java scripting, etc.

I'm not a guru in javascript, Currently I'm working in a project which someone else was working on it for a long period of time. He prepared some sort of codes in javascript to track number of attempts in SCORM and trigger some battons. Hi all, My client wants hotspots on a playing video in Captivate 2019.  Here are the details: - Interactive or normalVideo on slide plays- I create hotspot at locations on video (upper layer maybe)- When hotspot area is clicked, the new video will play and current video will be paused. - If hotspot area clicked after the video is played, that should still work.  I search and found video overlay, but could not find hotspot or clickable laying over the video layer. Can someone please help? my deadline is in this week and have to apply a similar function for 40+ videos. Thanks in advance.

Is there a way to change the default message that comes up on a 360 slide after the user clicks all the hotspots? It currently says to "use the navigation options to exit" but I don't want them to exit out of the entire training module. 

After my module's D&D, there is a delay over 5 seconds.   I reduced the "Pause After" time to .1   The feedback on success and failure is only 3 seconds, and pause lasts longer than the feedback messages!  I don't want to loose the feedback by adding a "go to the next slide" action on success or failure.  Any thoughts on how to remove the pause?

Hello, I'm hoping I'm missing or overlooking an existing feature, but at the moment I am adding closed captioning to every slide that has audio and having to stylize the font/size/etc. every time as it automatically creates them in a simple default fashion. I have to reposition them and stuff everytime. Is there anywhere to save Closed Captioning style settings like you can for Text Captions and Highlight boxes? Thanks,Joe

Hi, My very first question in the Forum. I'm Creating a Template for an eLearning course and have put in the objects and captions that are common to all slides, created slides using etc. All that works well. I created a specific color theme for Matching type quiz question in another project and wanted to use this as a part of the Template. When I simply cut and paste into the template file, this qiz question alone takes on the Mater slide of the project from which I copied the slide. How do I make it nherit the properties of the Template Master ?
