Good morning,I am new to Captivate and I was trying to start familiasing with it. I started creating a blank  project and add a learining interaction. Whichever I choose I get the error message "Not a valid widget"; I also tried to use the option Insert>Widget but I get the same error. I have located the interactions in the folder: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\Interactions_10_0 and the programme is saved in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2017 x64.Anyone would have an idea on how to solve it?Thanks a million

Hallo, ich möchte auf meinem MacBook eine Powerpoint Präsentation in Captivate importieren. Alles funktioniert soweit normal, aber die Präsentation wird von Captivate nicht richtig wiedergegeben: Es scheint, als würde der Text vergrößert, so dass er sich verschiebt und das Layout nicht mehr stimmt. Unter Windows funktioniert das Importieren mit der gleichen Präsentation problemlos. Was könnte eine Lösung sein?

I feel like there's not much point in posting questions here, but I want to do something really simple, which is set a .5 second fade-in for most new objects as they appear. In Storyline this is a simple "fade in" effect, but in Captivate all I can find is "alpha from to." This has a default setting to begin at 15% and end at %30, which I don't understand at all. Is there a way for me to make it default to begin at %0 alpha and end at %100 for one half-second? Or is there some other way to make new objects fade in that doesn't take so much fuss each time??

I am using Captivate 9.  I need to resize a course and also have Rescale the project to fit the new size turnd on along with the resizing of all objects.Maintain aspect ratio is turned off. Every time, the resizing hangs at 79% and then it dies.   Is there a known issue?

I am currently using the latest version of Captivate 2019 (11.0.0.243) on which I have finished creating a new course.As this needs to be translated into several languages, I tried two ways:1) Export Project Captions to Word: The output format is not practical, as it retains the formatting used within Captivate, meaning I for example have some of the text to translate that is invisible (it is using a white font in CP and therefore doesn't show in Word - I would need to change the colour in Word, translate, then change back to white before re-importing into CP for it to be correct in the course)2) Export XML: The export works fine and it is really not difficult to translate directly within the XML (better in fact, as it avoids changing text settings by mistake)My issue is the following: When I try to import XML back, it doesn't work, as I receive a message stating "Cannot import XML". Hi, I'm creating a responsive project in Captivate 2019 (All updated). I'm using the Breakpoint method to create it (Rather than Fluid boxes as i feel i've got greater flexibility with Breakpoints) and have the 5 views set up. In Captivate it looks great, when i preview it it looks really good, all five views working as they should. When i test it on my ipad all good. Test it on my iphone xs and text is overlapping plus its trying to show ipad landscape instead of phone landscape. I went with the default sizes for the responsive project. Any ideas ? Is it a case of adding more space below each text box ? Strange how ipad landscape is showing on my phone, tried it on an iphone 7 and again ipad landscape no mobile landscape. Also i'm using the font 'Calibri', when i preview on an ios device do i need to 'add' the font a different way as it just looks Times New Roman. Do i need to create a 'fonts.css' file manually ? I thought there was an easier way with Cap 2019 ?&nb

Hi there! Would really appreciate help with this:I have project made in Adobe Captivate 2019 and I have published it (as zip files) and I have sent it over to the support that tried to publish it to there LMS.But then it appeared a error message and they say it he error is because the character & (and maybe other symbols) are in the URL, and this is probably from the SCORM file. Afternoon, I am using Captivate 11.5.1.499 and am trying to create a video project "File / Record a New / Video Demo". I record the demo, but when I play back a specific cursor isn't visible. The "Show mouse in Video Demo Mode" is checked. When the cursor goes over a menu, dialog, edit., etc, and it displays a standard Windows cursor it appears in the video demo. When the cursor passes over another area of the screen where we create at runtime a custom cursor based on specific size requirements the cursor doesn't appear. If I create a "Software Simulation" project and set the FMR to enable and record the same sequence of events to produce the same demo the cursor correctly appears. Can anyone advise as to why it works ok in "FMR / Simulation" mode, but not in the "Video Demo". ThanksPhil.

I installed Presenter 11 Version 11.1.0 Build 197 to resolve the issues with the Flash player and PowerPoint cloud but still having issues with playback and selecting a theme, even when I uninstall and re-install it, I am still getting the error. I use IE11 Version 11.904.16299.0, and I have Adobe Shockwave enabled. I cannot adjust my theme, I cannot preview, this is a major issue is there any fix for this? Is there any other ways around it?

I'm attempting to utilize an accordion learning interaction for a slide that has a great deal of text. When I enter the text for the speific buttons within the accordion, it appears that I have a limit as to how many characters I can use. Is there a good workaround for this?

Hi - I ran the update to bring my Cp2019 up to version 11.5.0.476 last night. I believe I was on 11.0.1.266 before that. I noticed my custom themes were removed, so I have a couple questions around getting the new version set up how I (and my teammates) need. Can I pull in my custom themes from the previous version without issue, or do we need to create them again from scratch?We've been saving themes to the following folder: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\Layouts\11_0\en_US.I'm hoping I can simply copy those themes into the 11_5\en_US folder, but I wanted to make sure that is not "bad practice" before doing so.If I created a file in Cp2019 version 11.5.0.476, could someone else on my team open the file and work on it if they have an earlier version of Cp2019 (such as 11.0.1.266)?I know Captivate is not backwards compatible, but I wasn't sure if it was ok as long as we all had Cp2019.Any info is helpful. Hey,  Having issues with certain modules I've created in Captivate 2019. Hoping someone may be able to help. Issue happens when:The module contains video longer than 5 minutes (either embedded or using a web object with Vimeo link).LMS is set to open in new window.An android device is being used. More detailsCourses are built with Captivate 2019I have 10 modules (each treated as a separate package and uploaded as a separate SCORM file). 8 are working perfectly. 2 keep crashing in mobile (but work on laptop and iPad).The 2 packages that crash contain an opening video that is over 5 minutes long (the others that work, are all under 5 minutes).If the LMS is set to open in frameset then the modules work fine. When the LMS is set to open in a new window those 2 modules start to have issues.After around 5 minutes one of the tabs closes and I'm just left with a completely blank screen (if I click reload, then a new tab opens again and I'm returned to the start of the

Hi, I was making a video demo slide in adobe captivate. Suddenly I cannot trim videos in "video editing section" of the video demo slide. The problem is when I trim any part of the video, the edited part shows wrong mouse cursor moving automically throughtout the video, though I have recorded the video correctly . ( I already trimmed the video couple of times,then it worked well, but now i cannot trim.) Any help would be appreciated.  KDHasin Raihan

Hi, I'm new to Adobe Captivate and trying to import a SVG file I created on Inkscape. Everytime I import the image it becomes transparent. Do you know how to fix it?The version I have is the most recent version downloaded of Captivate.

Currently I manually strip all the JavaScript from Index.HTML files and reference one unobtrusive JavaScript file with these scripts contained in it, among others that we have as the JavaScript callbacks from our LMS.I'm wondering if there's some way to change the master template that generates the correct index.html file in this way for us rather than having to change the output Index.html file of every presentation after the fact.

Publishing & Saving Issues with a Responsive Project I have been unable to see changes saved with a 30 page multi-state project. I use an 8 gig computer and I am trying to publish a responsive project for all devices to it's own webpage (I am not using any elearning software but instead want it accessed publically, I am not allowed to have it embedded in a private course). I constantly must:duplicate states so that they will function properly in advanced actions,replace actions on objects that won't save and/or publish,resize objects so they fill the screen on any size the way I have designed them andresize font on text within those objects.check to see if there is a "continue" somehow reallocated on a slide because after I click an object it moves to the next page when it should be "pause" I work for a state government with high security settings on our internet, my computer is 8 gigs, and I think the Captivate program itself could be the issue since I also cannot c

Hello, I've recently completed 2 e-learning modules for a client that features quite a lot of animation made within After Effects, and exported as H.264 mp4 files. The animations are then placed within questions related to them. The Captivate project is then published and has to be uploaded to Moodle via SCORM. My client is having 2 issues, the first being the issue with the manifest. I've attached the steps I've taken, with renaming the SCO Identifier to imsmanifest, which I believe to be correct. I've also attached the error that they see. Could you tell me what I could be doing wrong here? The second issue is the file size, which I know is obviously to do with the video sizes. Both clients have said the files exceed their Moodle limits. Module 1 is around 680mb and Module 2 is around 890mb. Apart from going through the individual animations and reducing their quality, are there other solutions? For example, if I were to host the video files on my own server, and have them

Question:  Is there some way to have an object appear and disappear multiple times in a timeline without having to duplicated it and place it on a new row in the time-line?Situaion:    I have two animated gifs I am using during a 4 minute audio exchange between two speakers. I want one gif to play as one person speaks and the other gif to play as the other person speaks.  It's the same thing showing up over and over again.Current set up:   I have 28 duplicate gifs on one side of a slide (all alighned) and each one has audio file attached to it. I have another 28 duplicate gifs (all aligned) each with audio attached for the other side of the slide. I then moved each gif to play in sequence going from one side to the other. Issue: I hate the gigantic timeline with 60 little pieces plus all my other elements on that slide. Other thoughts for clarification: I realize I could build a 4 minute gif in Photoshop and try to time the delays and variou

Our company has a huge log of captivate files from a previous versions. According to the wiki these files should all be forward-compatible. Captivate loads up fine, but I can't open any files without a crash. Any thoughts?

I have an image with multiple states that I have timed out to align with an audio string in my timeline. The advanced actions delay then change state in unison with the audio. As I view the output in HTML 5 to verify my timing I clicked the pause button (a standard captivate navigation bar not one of my own creation).  When I clicked it, the audio stopped but the advanced actions continued to run. Any suggestions on what is happening? 

My team is experiencing an issue when publishing. If we have a web object in our lesson and publish Captivate will crash. If this happens we have to force quit Captivate and relaunch. A fix that usually works is to delete the web object and then add it back. Then publishing will usually work, but not always. Captivate crashes during the "Generating Slides" phase of publishing. The percentage the generating slides progressbar is at when the crashes happen usually correspond, roughly, with the location of the slide with the web object, in the slide list (if i have a lesson with 10 slides, the 10th containing a webobject, the crash usually happens around 90% of generating slides). This is intermittent, sometimes every time I try to publish any file it crashes, other days I can publish all day without a crash. Has anyone else had such an issue? Details:We are on Macs.Captivate 11.0.1.226 (waiting on IT to get us the update)Web obect is a URL - pointing to a Su
