Hey everyone,Here's a challenge for anyone who enjoys unraveling tangled Xmas tree lights. This question has two parts.The first is that I have created a drag and drop interaction and checked the box "include in quiz". However, the score slide is showing that it has not been completed and thus I am only getting 10 of 20 points (10 points from a second MC question) Any suggestions on how to fix this?The next issue is more complicated:I have created a World Travel themed interaction where the user learns about different countries by using a drag and drop scenario. When the user drops a passport stamp onto the drop target (same target for all 4; but with 4 different states) they are given more information about the topic. The idea is that once they have completed all 4 actions they are taken to the next slide for a new activity. And here's where the problem begins...I have created a variable to act as a counter and set up my Advanced Action as follows:If Variable "passport" is equal to 4T

I am trying to add to my character asset list with other ethnicities and gender mix than the ones that come pre-installed.I have figured out the new regime used by 2019 for storing its assets and have moved all the High Res assets from 11 to 11_5 so they don’tdownload when I want them.The Process so farClick on DiscoverFind the character I want and the pose I needClick on character pose and choose resolution then click downloadWait for downloadDialogue says asset is now available under downloadsGo to downloads it tells me I am yet to download something.Went looking for where these assets could have been downloaded to and I have tracked these assets to:C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearningAssets\Characters_11_5\Assets\Assets\Images\highHowever, if I try to open these I get: Inside of photos and if I try to use these as an image in Captivate I get: I have tried running captivate in Admin mode and using my phone as the internet source as I read in one of the support blogs being behind

I need to create a presentation that will loop a graphic, web page, and application for 1 minute each.Question: Can Captivate display an application that's running on the same computer?If not, is there a presentation application that will?

I'm hoping someone can explain this a bit more to me.We use both Captivate and Storyline (different departments use different programs). Those of us that use Capitvate are being told we have to go in and remove rollovers from old courses and not include them in courses going forward. We were told that it is because rollovers are not supported in Flash and Flash is going away. That rollovers are not HTML5 compliant. However, the Storyline users can still use rollovers. Their courses will work in HTML5.Then someone else said it has nothing to do with Flash, that is was because rollovers can't be used on mobile.I'd love some more clarification on the use of rollovers in Captivate. I'm setting up a Drag and Drop in Captivate 2019 that should behave as follows:1. User clicks sources to drop targets - incorrect placements snap back automatically; correct placements drop in place.2. Once the user finally places the last source on the last drop target, a success message is displayed and the user can click anywhere to move forward.So far I have the drop targets rejecting incorrect submissions and accepting correct ones. However, when the final source is placed, nothing happens and you don't go to the next slide.Here are the settings for the D&D exercise:1. On success: Go to the next slide2. On failure: no action3. No. of attempts: 14. Success caption: selected5. Auto-submit correct answers: selected6. On the object actions menu, each drop target is set to allow one Drag Source TypeAccept All: UncheckedCount: 1On accept: Go backAction for each source type: no actionDo you think I have just have some setting that's off? I was going through that problem "Unable to load LMS API", finding solution of it, got tired now. What happened is that, I,d published 4 slides of Adobe Captivate in SCORM 1.2 compliance. After publishing when I unzipped the package and run the main HTML file in Google Chrome, it was giving an error "unable to acquire LMS API". I did try in other browsers also but same problem occured . Can anybody tell me what this problem means and how can i get out of it.Thanks!

Hi, I'm using Captivate 9 and would like to know if it's possible to have different settings for closed captions on a slide by slide basis rather than just one setting for the entire project?Thanks Michael

Using Captivate 2019 on a Mac. I couldn't find any answers that were less than a couple years old. Here is my problem. I have a stock Captivate learning interaction, 7 tabs to the right with advanced interaction, that shows and hides each group of text captions. I added images to the groups. In each of the 7 groups, the tab actions either show or hide, but only the first group shows both the text AND the image. I have it set up so that when you click the tab, the heading and a photo appear. The photo then fades to reveal a text block underneath it. The first group of two text captions and an image works fine. But, going down the list of tabs, the TEXT for each of the remaining 6 tabs works fine, but the IMAGES are NOT SHOWING. I tried bringing all the images to the front in the group, but that didn't work.  Also, if I moved the second group to the top, that worked fine, but then the same thing happens–no images for the remaining 6 tabs, including the first group that was shuffled

The client would like users to be able to retake the assessment even if they passed it. In Captivate I only see the option to show the retake assessment button if they failed. I'm using Captivate 2019 and haven't been able to find the answer to this question. Thank you!

I've tried to install Captivate 2019.  Blank installer screen. I had IT log in then even as me on my computer for local admin rights and every time run setup a blank adobe installer dialog box appears and nothing. We tried a fix that was posted on the forum and did not help.

I am working on an e-learning project in which every slide has elements imported from photoshop. Now that I am done with every slide and added the sounds... when going to the skin editor to work on the buttons and configuration this happenedAny ideas?

Hi everyone,I'm using Captivate 2019. I'm using the Millionaire widget in one of my learning modules. If I get any answer wrong, the game ends. I realize that's how the real game works, but it's not conducive to learning. Does anyone know if there's a way to customize the game so the user can keep playing despite any wrong answers? I looked at the widget options and didn't see a way.I realize I could use other games (like the Jeopardy widget), but I'm curious if it's possible to customize the Millionaire game--maybe with scripting. Hi all,I need to create a popup window that the learner can move around the screen then click an X to close it. The objective is to use the popup as a reference while they are using a drag and drop parts of a meter to test an electrical unit on the screen.Any help or direction would be appreciated. Hi there,When I try to setup reporting for my project, the LMS and Standard drop-downs are empty. And if I click configure, Adobe captivate does not respond and I have to force quit it. Any ideas?PS: I'm running the 2019 Release (11.5.0.476)

Hi,I have a problem on quiz result page. I need retake quiz button on result page which showing only incorrect answers.likei have 10 question and i submitted 10 answers but next time i retake quiz so that show only incorrect answers only.

I'm starting to see AA's as potential minefields, I have an advanced action as followsWhen I trigger the AA nothing happens. So I remove the assign action. When I click the trigger again it works as intended the button appears. So I believe the problem lies with the assign action. I am using only 4 user variables in the project as follows.they seem quite unique so I don't see any naming issues. I have 3 other slides that with similar AA's that work as intendedI had this same issue a few weeks ago and I had to not use certain slides (not a good solution)I really can't understand why a trigger will do nothing when I try to assign a value to a variable. the consensus the first time on the forum was that it was a naming issue. I'm not seeing it. see below for timeline screenshot for good measure.

Basically I have a multi-select knowledge check I'm trying to create, using Captivate 2019. Here are the requirements from the ID:1. User selects nothing - the "You must complete..." message is displayed2. User selects no correct answers on 1st try: first failure message displays, advising to try again3. User selects some, but not all, correct answers on 1st try: failure message displays, advising them that they got some right answers4. User fails the question on the 2nd try: final failure message displays and the user moves on5. User submits the correct response: success message displays and the user moves onIt's #3 that I have no idea how to implement. Is this a standard feature for Captivate knowledge check slides? I can't seem to find such an option...Any help would be appreciated.

Hello everyone,I am trying to accomplish the following. The learner will be advanced to the next slide if it has not been viewed. If it has been viewed I would like to direct them elsewhere. I think I should be able to do this with AA however I don't know how to check a viewed/not viewed status.thanks Kurt

I need some help in accomplish the following in my Captivate (2017) eLearning course and am asking the forum readers to offer me some advice. Here is the scenario:A learner will first listen to a recorded call clip from a customer, she will then click a record button on the screen to record her voice response to the call clip.  the learner can re-record her response if she plays her own recording and not satisfied with it.  She can submit (save) the audio response on a server for evaluation by a trainer or coach when she is satisfied with the recording of her response.  The learner will continue with another call clip of the customer to listen and to response in recorded audio.  My question is how can this be accomplished in Captivate or any other authoring tools? I searched the forum for tips and did find any.  I would greatly appreciate it if someone can share the knowledge or experience on this with me.  Thank you.Tianzhu

Hello everyone,I am storing LevelProgress variable at localStorage and I want to execute different Advanced Actions based on values of LevelProgress.However nowhere in documentation I can find how to execute Advanced Action with JavaScript.Have anyone tried to do that?I'd like to achieve this without creating extra buttons/click boxes/objects is possible. Purely triggering JavaScript on Slide enter.Thank you.

For the past couple years, I've been using Captivate to build interactive flowcharts that allow the user to answer a question, and based on their answer, the next step in the process is revealed (each new step is a new slide, so the buttons just "jump to slide"). Point is, they're very long and users have to scroll down as it progresses. I've been publishing them as SWF, but we're in the process of converting to HTML5 now. When I publish as HTML5 only, and place the files on a web server, once I have to start scrolling down, every time I click a smart shape button, it jumps the project back to the top, and I have to scroll down again.I realize that I should have probably used something like Dreamweaver, but I have to build in tools that my teammates are capable of using, too.Is there a way to prevent it from jumping to the top when it goes to a new slide?I've read that can happen if your buttons aren't defined as buttons in your HTML5, but I'm not finding that to be the case. I am trying to publish a responsive course and get the below messages. There are no special characters and Show Playback Control is checked. I'm not sure what I can do to correct this error. My file only partially publishes. Any ideas?

There are two changes I've noticed in my first few days of using version 2019, and I want to make sure they're actual changes and not just settings I'm missing.The first is that I used to get a warning during publishing if I included any use of "Open URL or File" in the project to open an external file. When I published something I know should be giving me that warning, I'm not getting it in 2019. I have found that to be extremely helpful in the past. Has that warning been removed? The other thing is that I now can't get a project to play in browser starting with my title screen. I have to load a "play" button screen first. In v2017, that only happens when I have auto-play turned off.  I know there's some official mention of it being a browser problem, but in my experience I am still only seeing the issue when I publish from 2019, so it seems like the issue is with Captivate, not the browser's ability to recognize that command. Is anyone else experiencing that?ThanksJeff
