Questions

Is there a way to adjust the volume to the same level across all slides in one project? If it can't be done "globally" for the entire project & must be done individually to each slide, how can you ensure consistency in the volume level? BTW the audio was recorded in Captivate to each slide. Thanks much for any assistance ....

My company had purchased captivate licence about a year ago but somehow we are not able to trace it back.Need help in tracing the licence key as we forgot the details of it.Is there any one who can help in resolving this issue?Is there any specific adobe support email where we can write our queries?

I created a responsive project and published it as HTML5 (my only option) to my hard drive.  After publishing, a popup allows me to choose to view the output.  Everything looks great when I do so.  As soon as I close the file (or if I choose to publish and do not view the output), I cannot find an executable project file anywhere in all of the folders created when publishing the project.I have tried zipping when publishing and not zipping.  I have the most recent updates after getting the same results from the previous one.  I chatted with Adobe Captivate with no answer other than to start over with on a non-responsive project.  When I asked where the executable was for the responsive file was, I was told it was a .index file. I do not have one of those.I am a novice Captivate user and spent about 40 hours on this project.  I really don't want to start over.  Can someone please help me?Thank you!

Hi,I have a file that when I publish the file (and I have ensured accessibility is correctly checked before publishing) then when I test the .htm file in Internet Explorer either JAWS will allow me to just tab through the browser top menu bar or allow me to view the browser bar and the captivate player (forward, play, stop, back) functions. It will not allow me to view my caption text that I setup to be accessible via the properties pane window in captivate 8.0 and also tried publishing from captivate 9.0I have tried multiple ways and cannot seem to be able to use JAWS to preview my file and use the tab key or up/down arrows to navigate the slide fully. Anybody seen or had this same issue? How would you recommend I fix this issue. Today I ensured my flash player and captivate programs were all current versions so I am up to date on my software. I'm using windows 10 and IE 11, JAWS 16.0 or JAWS 17.0... Help me please nothing is working for me.

I have written dozens of training courses using Captivate that employ buttons to open PDF documents (supporting documentation). I am currently coding smart shapes as buttons, specifying the Open URL or File action, or by executing an advanced action to do the same. The documents are found in a subfolder (documents), so the URL/File target is: \documents\<file name>. Same syntax that I have used for several years. However, once published using Captivate 7, these buttons no longer work. I have exhausted my methods for opening files without success. Any ideas?BTW, I am publishing as .exe, so the SWF security snafu should not be the issue.ThanksJack L

HelloI am having an issue with a slide not appearing in production mode. The slide appears when I preview the file in Preview mode, but when I render the file in HTML5 mode and then review it from there, the slide does not appear. The audio for the slide plays, along with the closed captioning, but its appearing along with the previous slide. Very bizarre. I rendered it twice and tested each time, and the slide is just not coming up.  Any idea how I can fix this?Both slides are PowerPoint slides. The first slide contains audio with captioning along with a button set to appear for 'rest of slide'  'Pause after' option is turned off as clicking this button is optional. Once the audio for this slide is finished, the next slide should appear. The next slide has audio, captioning and a couple of arrows (shapes).  Like I said, the audio for this (i.e. next) slide plays, but it plays along with the text of the previous slide.help!thanks, Marion

Hi, i add an Slide with anempty blue bar on Top. But: There are 2 lines of Text in it. I can not select the text, cant delete it. Nothing. Wherefrom is this text?Cant find a solution. hank you, regards Peter

We have just updated our captivate 9 and find the lessons now do not work when we publish them.  before this update Captivate would put all the assets as .png into the "dr" directory; these are now in replaced with a few .JSON files; can i stop this happening and leave them as source images? 

Hi,I have a problem. First of all, I use Captivate 8. I made a Scorm and I Published with the option " send data on every slide".I create a TOC, too, with different sections and I Published to a Moodle Platform.But when the student is making the Scorm, the progress doesn't appear correctly, I mean, in the TOC appears each title "checked" after all the pages of the section has beeen seen. If the student close the scorm, the scorm doesn't save the real progress and it puts the student at the beggining of the section. Doesn't matter if the project says" do you want to go to the las page visited"? because the system doesn't respect the real progress. How can I solve that problem?Thank you in advanced....

I tried this solution: Adobe Presenter ribbon may not be visible in Microsoft PowerPoint even if Presenter is installed. * The install seems successful (all the steps complete) * I don't see Presenter in my Powerpoint ribbon * Adding the MenuLauncher.dll gives me the "not valid" error message * My registry doesn't have "ClickToRun" under the "15.0" location (and I can't find anything related to AdobePresenter.COMAddin anywhere else) * I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, redownloading, and reinstalling, but with the exact same resultsHas anyone been able to get this combo to work? I called the Help Desk, but they said Presenter 11 isn't supported with Powerpoint 2016. I'm wondering if they aren't compatible (i.e., won't work at all on any machine, so I should stop trying), or if it's just something I'm doing wrong on my end (i.e., I should continue troubleshooting)?Cheers.

I have turned off the playbar for my quiz slides. However, now there is a white overlay bar where the playbar displays. It looks terrible, like the slide is cut off. how do I turn this white bar off. I thought I used this cpCmdShowPlaybar and Assigned this command on the quiz slide actions. but doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions??

The color of my progress bar (the icon head) looks one way in the skin editor, and looks a different way when published/previewed. See two screen caps, the progress indicator looks white, but then when I publish OR preview it's black across all break points. Not sure why. I would like it to be white like it looks within Captivate. Is this a bug?I'm using Captivate 2017 (10.0.0.192) using the default built in theme Aluminum with the default built in "cpPlayBarMobile." I've tried different playbars, I've tried different themes, I've tried changing the colors, nothing effects it, it's always black when I publish even though in Captivate it looks white.

@Hi,I have been having issues with my Captivate for quite some time now, I completed the update a few days ago which seemed to stop the problems but they have returned again.When I load a project, all of the slides are blank. It then gives me a message to say that my captivate isn't supported by the file & that I don't have permission to open the file/or that it may already be open (nothing is open-it won't allow me to open a single thing) I had worked on a project most of yesterday- saving it throughout the day & at the end of the day the whole project crashed, an error message appeared & then the whole app closed down & didn't save any of my work. The project I was working on was actually deleted from the file it was saved to & there is no trace of it on my computer at all.This is preventing me from doing my job, so any help would be really appreciated. Adobe haven't given me help on Twitter & their live chat is down.Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm working with a client that has been using Captivate since version 4 or 5.  We're attempting to do an audit of their content, in part to prepare for the end-of Flash.  I have access to the SCORM packages on the server.  Is there any way to identify from these files what version of Captivate was originally used to create the content?  Bonus question, if the content contains Flash files, is there anyway to see (other than launching) whether it was also published to support HTML5?  Basically, we're trying to get a handle on the level of effort we have on our hands.  Any guidance at all is greatly appreciated!

Hello, I created a game using "Responsive Project" in Captivate 9 and added the jigsaw puzzle interaction.  It’s posted to a website designed in Dreamweaver. It works fine on a desktop computer but not IPhones. When dragging the pieces below about the halfway point on the screen, the pieces disappear. There isn't anything layered on top of the puzzle widget in the Timeline, and I didn’t resize the widget. Thanks for your help! Jen

So I am using the latest version of Captivate and am trying to change the default label quiz buttons from "back" and "skip" to their Spanish equivalent. I go to the project info option-->default labels and change the wording accordingly. But when I then go to create quizzes, only the "back" button has changed to its Spanish version. The "skip" button still says "skip" in English. in fact, only the "back" button is showing up the Spanish version. I also had a version of the course that had them all in Spanish, but when I made a copy and saved it, they all reverted back to English. Any thoughts on why this might be? On top of that, is there not a way to change these for the quiz slides after they have been made? It seems like you should be able to apply a change to all existing quiz slides without having to re-create the quiz slides from scratch. Thanks, Arthur

Hi, I made a training module with a quiz on the end. I am giving users 2 attempts at the quiz. I want the users to:A) not be able to submit the question without entering an answer andB) be able to review the quiz questions but not let them see the answers. I want them to be able to see what they got wrong but they cannot see the choices they should be able to only see that they got the question wrong. If they can see the choices, especially with the correct answers they can just memorize them for the second try. Basically, how do I prevent users from seeing the answers after the quiz while at the same time enabling them to view which question they got wrong?Thank you very much!

Ok all, I'm no programmer and have been depending on the out-of-the-box functionality of Adobe 9 to get me through, but I've hit a stumbling block.My training includes an accordion widget with definitions and text-to-speech. That was easy. My client wants me to make sure the learners review all of the definitions before enabling the continue button on the screen. The skin does not have the navigation buttons, but I am using the Interaction > Button functionality to make my buttons.I have looked through the Advanced Actions thinking that would help (and it may, again, not a programmer). How would I enable this sort of functionality?Jason

Hi.This is my first time using Captivate 2017, so had a few questions before I hopefully use it for my project.I want to use it primarily as a replacement for a paper & pencil test.  I want to be able to store the users answers in an offline file so it can be reviewed by the candidates manager at a later stage.  From looking at the software, it only appears that I can get an instant score for the questions without the answers being saved offline.The test has to be offline as the test platforms are not allowed on the network or for internet use, therefore all results & corresponding candidate name will have to be saved in an offline file on the laptop.How can I do this?Secondly, I have some questions where there are multiple text entry answers.  Captivate doesn't have this type of question available.  Surely this can be done somehow.Please can someone help me with these 2 issues!Thanks in advance - I am reluctant to use paper & pens again for the test!

I am working with VR via 360 videos and 360 still panormas in a tour.  Can I pull a web object into Captivate and then add hotspots and interactivty to gamify it?  (I'm using Panotour by Kolor to make the tour but it doesn't allow for interactivity and keeping of values that I can use to gamify it). 

Summaryblue expansion boxes, new errorI don’t know happened. But for some reason one of my slides is showing the blue expansion boxes on preview although they have never appeared on this preview slide before. Does anyone know how I can get rid of these? I read something about clearing preferences, but I don’t know how to do that and I can’t find instructions.  Clearing the cache sounds too scary.
