Hi again, I have an issue in a module.To enable people to view a help screen pop up there is an question mark icon. Once clicked it executes the AA below.It shows a. the pop up with the explanation (= help window) and b. an invisible smart shape that is placed above the red X in the pop up. So users can click on either the icon or that X to execute the same AA in order to close the help pop us.So far so good.But in the quiz slides toggling the pop up using the Icon works. But when the pop up is shown after clicking on the question mark icon using the invisible box to close via the X doesn´t work anymore.Any idea how to circumvent this?Thanks a lot!

Hi, does anyone knows how to show "elapsed time / total time" for an event video inserted into a slide?None of the event video playback skins provide the option of have the "elapsed time / total time" information.Hence, if I require my user to scrub the event video to let say 0:05, there is no way the user is able to do it accurately even if there is a progress bar fro scrubbing.

Hello, New to Captivate. I am trying to create a responsive project but have had different difficulties in Captivate 2017.Here's the list:When I create a new project, I choose the option "Responsive Project". In order to be easier to understand, what I want to do is to make an interactive "video" in Captivate, where end-user has to click the next buttons to proceed.However, when I click Publish and then open it in a browser, it does not behavior as a responsive project. I mean, everytime I resize window, output is not proportionally scaled. I want to capture screens and publish them as scalable simulations.When I got the responsive project as I wanted:I've opened a blank project;When I clicked Publish I chose the empty format as HTML5 and then I selected the "Scalable HTML content” checkbox.I've got a scalable simulation as I wanted.My doubt is: What am I doing is correct? Because I don't know a thing about Captivate, as a completely newbie I've digged on it, so that I found this check

is this possible? because what I'm trying to do is after the learner jumps back from a quiz slide to a previous slide I want the button on that slide to say something else. I mean it's "let's go!" for example when they first visit that page and when they get back from the quiz I want that button to say something like "Go back to quiz". I gave the button a variable. Set it to zero. And set it up to increment when clicked. And if it's equal or greater than 1 I wanted to show another state. Which worked. The thing is when I hover on the button it says "let's go" again. It's annoying...

Hi allHoping you guys can help me. My project has voice narration on each slide but when I preview my project I am not getting any sound unless I replay the project. I was told to use a preloader so I tried using my company logo but no luck. I even tried use on of the preloaders that comes with captivate but it does show. Neither my company logo or any of the default loaders will show, it goes straight into the project and still no voice narration unless I replay the projectCan anyone please help me figure out what the problem is? Hi,I am trying to have custom callouts for the capture captions when recording a software simulation. I've read multiple posts and watched videos on ways to do that. However, I am running into issues with each of the two options I found:Option 1: Create custom caption I created 5 different custom captions with the "triangle" pointing in all four directions. Basically it's just a plain "flat" rectangle callout, solid color, no stroke. I saved it as bmp, but I know I also need to create an fcm file. However, I can't find anywhere, when I google, how to convert the bmp into a fcm. So that's my road block for option 1.Option 2: Use smart shape instead of captionsThis worked, however the callout smart shape makes various sized "triangles", some of them very long and pointy. To make it look all the same, I would have to adjust it manually on each side. That's not a good solution either. Then I thought to just use the rectangle shape instead of a callout shape to get around the "triangle

I use Captivate 9.I created a button. On roll over and click, the same content is supposed to show up. This content is a combo of text, shapes, etc. When I preview project, all looks good. When I publish and upload to LMS, the text portion doesn't show up.Very frustrating, What am I doing wrong? Can you help?s

Using Captivate 9 on Windows 7 64-bitI am working on a training video. I want to make an interaction that a user can click each button to learn more about that item. What I want the button to do is open a small dialog box with information about that button and I would like it to play a little audio clip simultaneously and the user will have to click on an x to close the window (this part of the x is not so important if it cannot be done). I already figures out how to create a small dialog and I'm doing that by making new states and when the button is pressed it would change the state to that specific item. Is there a way to perform another action to put the audio on that button?P.S. There is an add audio button under properties > Options of the button but this currently plays all of the buttons voice notes at once.I also do not want the learner to be able to advance to the next slide by clicking NEXT until the all the buttons are clicked. For the passed couple of weeks, I've been going back and forth with the LMS implementation team to test SCORM wrapped files published in Captivate. I've changed just about every setting possible in an effort to find the winning combination to publish my HTML for to have it marked as complete in Saba.Can any one provide any recent recommendation of publishing settings, provide some sort of insight based on personal experience, or just help a brother out? I'd really appreciate any support that may help. (I've read through the other post on this forum and didn't really find exactly what I'm looking for that was relevant or current). Hi there,I'm trying to have a HTML file open / eLearning program exit on the click on a button.The HTML file isn't uploaded online, it's just a file in my documents at the moment, as you can see below in the advanced action.I'm not sure how to make this work. When I upload it on to my LMS, on click all that opens is a broken 'Page cannot be found' link. I had it working for a period there but not intentionally, for some reason it just seemed to work on its own.I imagine that I have to copy the HTML file in to the SCORM zip somewhere and maybe change the file part below so that it isn't specific to my local drive.Does anyone have any experience with this?I use Adobe Captivate 2017 version 10.0.193.Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello. My client is using Captivate 9 so subscribing to Captivate 2017 isn't feasible for me because my client won't be able to open my files. So I think i need to purchase Captivate 9 to work with her. Can anyone recommend a legitimate source for purchasing it? I see a lot of offers online but some seem a bit shady and since this is for corporate work, I want to be sure I have a legitimate version. Thanks.

I also had "Presenter keeps asking for Flash Player update (Office 2016/365)". I did apply the temporary fix (see Emily Loyd Jun 17, 2018 post) and it "solved the problem".  But... that put my Office version back one or more versions (because I had to turn off auto updates and to revert to a previous version), which concerns me. And Adobe has not announced a more permanent fix. I have been using Presenter to create lessons for an online course -- so, it is becoming more obvious that Presenter may adversely affect the course. If I have to turn off auto updates for a non-Adobe product (i.e., MS Office), that should concern Adobe. I may be forced to find a replacement for Presenter.

Hello,I am trying to export our slide notes which we used as speaker text so that they can be translated using the "Project Captions and Closed Captions" feature.  If I understand correctly, I have to click the closed captioning box on every slide in order for them to be exported. Is there a way for you to do this for every slide at once?  Or can I export the slide notes without making them closed captions?Thanks for any help!  We are using Captivate 2017.

I have a custom cc button that I have set to toggle with the cpCmndcc show button and the button showing for length of project. The closed caption box disappears after each break I have set in the audio narration. How can I make it stay up until the user closes the closed caption box? - Thanks, George

I've spent the last 4 hours reading everything about embedding YouTube, updating the YouTube Widget, how much YouTube hates Flash and trying ALL the suggestions. My problem is a blank object.SO, I tried embedding a web object (like Paul Wilson) suggested into a blank project. That doesn't work (although I've used that method for responsible projects and it works). I've tried various widgets and those don't work. I end up with a wonderful message from YouTube stating that they don't support Flash, BUT I can still view it in their environment. In all instances I put the files up on a web server (another suggestion) and still no luck. I also thought my cptx file was possibly corrupted so I cleared cache, restarted my computer, and made a new file--that didn't produce any change.I did find that the blank project makes a folder "wor", with a sub-folder "wo" and some numbers (i.e. wo_5272), and then another html file inside it that when clicked the video works as intended.My customer really

Hello Everyone,I must admit I'm hugely disappointed with Captivate, I find the product massively outdated and clunky. The fundamental issue I have is with the 'responsive' functionality that it's capable of. If you have anything more than a sentence of text and you minimise to a phone screen the text is chopped off, you then get a small icon to expand the text - this in itself is poor UX and to make matters worse there's a cross in the corner (when viewed in Captivate Prime) and it closes the entire fluid player down which is terrible UX! See belowI like Adobe Captivate Prime but Captivate is simply awful to work with, unless I'm missing something....???

When extending the functionality of Microsoft Word and Excel, one can program with Visual Basic (VBA) to do some clever things.  I had created a small VBA function to take a screenshot. It works well when called from Excel. I have the following problem with adobe captivate 10.0.1.285: When I export my project to our LMS everything is fine with Chrome and Internet Explorer 11. The problem is that when someone pauses to watch a video and then plays again, they get a transparent gray load screen intermittently for the rest of the video if they only use Internet Explorer 11. This is just a problem with Internet Explorer. It does not happen with Chrome. It used to happen to me from the beginning of the video and I solved it by delaying 0.5s each video.I tried removing the "AutoPlay" mark and changed the "Preloader%" below 100%, as recommended, and it keeps happening. I have recently created and published several Captivate 2017 projects as Android apps via PhoneGap.  I have updated the phonegapConfig.xml file as recommended and the publish works well, creating the app as requested.  However when the app is installed on an Android phone and launched, the app does not run and the spinning wheel of death appears and that’s all I get.  Where am I going wrong?

Hi, I'm quite experienced on Captivate but I'm finding the amount of times it crashes is infuriating and is doubling if not tripling the time it's taking me to complete projects. I'm after getting into the habit of saving my work every couple of minutes, and I can predict what actions are going to cause it to crash, but it is still slowing my progress significantly.Basically I find that the only time it crashes is when I'm dealing with "Execute Advanced Actions". I go in to edit the Action, click "Update Action" and when I "Close" the window my curser starts "beachballing" and I know then I have to Force Quit Captivate and start over again.The frustrating thing is that when I go in and do the exact same thing with Advanced Actions it will work perfectly!It has been suggested on the forum that I "Clear Cache" regularly and I have done but it has not helped. Hello,When I export my project to our LMS everything is fine with both Chrome and Internet Explorer 11. The problem is that when someone stops viewing, and then returns later to finish, they get a transparent grey loading screen intermittently through the rest of the video if they're using Internet Explorer 11 only.This is only an issue with Internet Explorer. It doesn't occur with Chrome. Also if someone starts the project in Internet Explorer and resumes with Chrome, it also works fine, no loading screen???As per other posts. I have tried un-checking "Auto Play", and have changed the "Preloader %" under 100% as recommended, and it keeps happening. Not sure what else to do. Some of the fixes I am seeing in old posts are for much older versions of Captivate. I was just updated to the newest version of Captivate and am running this on a Windows 7 machine.Our company can't introduce video to our LMS until this is resolved, and we all are getting impatient.
