Hi all, I had a 30 day trial in Captivate and made some projects. I've now purchased the software and all my projects are corrupted. I've looked at the recovery instructions and downloaded dcache.zip but my computer says I also need to install adobe air. Air is a paid program as far as I can tell and I'm having trouble finding a link to it on the adobe site (the installer just links to a blog) and it's paid on reputable sites elsewhere. Is there an alternate to adobe air? Or a more simple way of getting corrupt Captivate files back? Adobe assured me that you could recover projects if you reinstalled the software after the trial. Boo. All that work.

Hello,I would like to use a variable inside of the "Accessibility Title". This variable is updated every few slides to a new name, which is why I chose to store the text in a variable rather than hard-coding it. How can I apply this variable to the Accessibility Title? See image below for example. Any and all feedback is much appreciated. Thanks!     

After creating a project and then publishing it, the imgmd.json file is empty causing the project to spin forever in blackboard.

I have a Captivate 2019 file that has Text to Audio in my slides.When I preview everything works and plays without a glitch however once Published to SCORM1.2 the text to audio does not play/cannot hear the voice over.  Auto Play is deselected. I am building some courses in Cp2017.  I will not be responsible for the SCORM deployment, so this question deals more with the manifest as opposed to the presentation of empirical information.Each course has 2 locations for information about the course:1. File > Publish settings > Preferences > Project > Information (contains entries for Author, Company, E-mail, Website, Copywright, Project Name, and Description). This window also displays Time, Resolution, Slides, and Hidden Slides.and2. Project > Table of Contents > "Info Box" > TOC Information (contains entries for Title, Name, Designation, E-mail, Website, and Description). This screen also has some Theme settings and a button titled "Project Information" which copies some of the fields from item 1 above, though the titles don't always match 1 for 1.For publishing in Moodle (client's new requirement), which of these should be filled out, or should both be completed?  Hard to understand why there are

Hello all! I am running Windows 11 on a Microsoft Surface Pro X with an arm64-based processor. Has anyone figured out a a way to make the latest Adobe Captivate build work on arm64-based processors yet? I would love to know of any workarounds vs. buying a whole new system.

I am using Captivate 2019. I have created a course with Captivate quiz questions scattered throughout. You have multiple attempts to answer correctly and advance to the next page. The course has Back buttons on every page. However, if you click Back to return to a question page, the page is disabled (You can't answer the question because all the answers are grayed out) and therefore, you cannot advance through the course. I have both Completion and Success set up for On Access. The quiz is required. How can I "free up" specific question pages so that if a user returns to it, he or she can answer the question again?

I'm creating a calculator but I cannot display a $ before the number unless there is a space. We've tried various Javascripts but it's becoming more work than it is worth. What are some tips and formatting options?

I'm using Captivate 5 and have run into an annoying problem...For a general click box, there is an option for "Show hand cursor over hit area" which will result in the cursor changing to a hand when rolling over the click box region in the published presentation.  I want to do the same for the 'submit' button in the text entry box. Is this even possible?  I'm hoping to keep things consistent as a user is clicking through the presentation.I find it odd that it doesn't have the same property as found on the clickbox considering it has the same purpose.  I'm using a background screenshot image to simulate an entry in an application, so I'm actualy hiding the submit button, but the button I want them to press lacks the hand cursor that would indicate it is clickable.  I don't want to use a click box to allow the user to move on because I still want a failure in the text entry box to prevent the user from moving on.Hope that all makes sense.

I have built quiz questions into the presentation. When you get to the firstquiz question and you want to review material before answering quiz question,Captivate 5 allows you to move backwards; however when I come back to the question to answer it is says:"you did not answer the question completely" and it will not allow you to select an answer.I checked my preferences and I do have "allow backward movement selected. Just wondering if anyone out there knows what I am doing wrong?

Is there a convenient way to edit or remove the black transparent hover effect on e.g. multiple choice answers?

I think I have the latest MAC and Word. Other print to Word options work OK. Though weird formatting like a black bar behind the headings. But Export to project caption gives me a blank page with just template header/footer. I see word automatically opens and some text is being printed. But when it is done I get a blank Word template.Right now I can only export on a PC. Will there be a fix?

As I try to turn decimals into a percent by multiplying decimals by 100, I get this funkiness.  Expression = var_a * 100var_a = .07 should give me 7 correct? Instead it gives me this... WHY?????????? 

So what happened to the hamburger? I'm trying to disable all the click sound but there is no hamburger.

I'm using Adobe 2019 and have a main menu slide in my course with 3 different lessons the users have to complete. I have a button hidden until the 3 lessons are completed that will allow them to move to the course summary. I've set up advanced actions for the 3 lessons, however, the "jump to slide" piece of the action does not work (everything else does). Any ideas? I tried delete/recreating the buttons, setting up new variables names, new button names, etc. Nothing has worked.     

Hi there.I use this method all the time to share my Captivate published projects links with the stakeholders of the company that I work at. I click on "Post Here", select discussion, add my title and zipped Captivate published file, add the three necessary tags, and then click save draft and preview. This takes me to a screen like the last one seen in the screenshots attached, however there is usually a blue play button which I click and share that link from there.It now takes me to a blank post preview screen so I cant click on the blue play button to get my link.I do this at least once a week for the past year, so what I have been doing in the past has always worked. Please can you fix this asap on your side. I need to send my links to stakeholders.Much appreciated,

I need to add text above and below the Captivate output on the index.html file. View source shows it is there and I've set the Captivate output to not scale and the div has an absolute position below the size of the Captivate output, but I still don't see the div. Or am I going about it wrong? How can I add a header and footer around the Captivate output?  Thanks!

I currently use State graphics on my Course Menus to tell the learner if a module/topic is Unavailable, Not Started, Started or Completed, but now that accessibility is a factor, there is an issue using states because it only allows for 1 alt text, not different alt texts for each state which is needed.  It this a feature that we can expect will be added to Captivate soon?

Hi folks,I´m trying to build a bit of a complex D&D, where I have two target areas and a bunch of drop items, but some of the drop items go to both of the target areas and some only to one of the target areas! I´v tried many things, but in the result I´m only getting a "all to all" or "this one here and that one there".  Is there a way to combine multiple and single targets? Thanks in advance!

I am working on a project in Captivate 9 and we want to add animated .gif elements such as curved arrows to draw attention to certain parts of the slide. We have the .gifs created and working fine, however, when I use the same element more than once, it will only play the first time in the published project. I tried with two of the same element on the same slide and then on separate slides and only the first one would play. I did find that if I create multiple copies of the same element with different names the animations will play. Since this project has over 100 slides and I will use the elements on almost every slide, I would really like to avoid have to create hundreds of copies of the same element. Is there a better solution? I have searched various places and nothing seems to address this specific question.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
