Hello, I come to thee asking for help and assistance, my puppet is having a bit of a melt down. I have rigged the eyes to blink, the mouth and its cycle layers work perfectly. I just for the life of me, can't get the head and body to play fair. The head turns rotated and the body does the opposite direction. It's a simple puppet, so any help and advice would be great! I truly am at a loss.Thank you Adobe Gods ❤️
I would like to know if someone knows or have the idea on how to perform live streaming using Character Animator but using the Audio Output from Adobe Audition or other Audio Software.
Hi I'm doing a kind of slow motion head turn effect but each head layer that appears causes anything with dangle to jiggle which ruins the effect. Any ideas how to avoid it? I guess I could use opacity to bring each layer in but this feels like a cheap and hacky way, is there a better way? Thanks
I gotta say, some clearer instructions for file management for CH would be really great. I've been watching a lot of the tutorials and have not quite grasped this... can someone point me in the right direction? What exactly is the relationship between the CH document itself, the artwork files (Photoshop/Illustrator), and Puppet files? I usually pick this kind of stuff up quickly (been using Photoshop, Protools, etc for many years) and I've made some short test animations with CH. Say you've finish you character "Not Elmo" adn you import the PS document "Not_Elmo_v3psd" into CH. You rig it up, create and export a scene. Later you need to do some more work on the Not Elmo character, so you save new version of the PS doc as "Not_Elmo_v4.psd". How do you keep the rigging work you've done?Do you save a .puppet file? If so, how to you make a next version of PS file?Does one save "Not_Elmo_v5.puppet" in the same folder with "Not_Elmo_v5.psd" and... the CH doc?Why do
I've been working on a simple bird character. I used the basic blank template from the adobe site. I ordered the layers correctly (to my knowledge) but the arms(in this case wings but whatever) will not go in front of the body layer even if I moved the layers in front of the body. Any help on how to fix or what I am doing wrong?
I imported a "Cowfolk" puppet into a scene. After he arrived, I turned off all backgrounds that comes with him, and imported my own background. There are two "Transform" panels with the Cowfolk puppet: One for the backgrounds (that I am not using, so I disable this Transform panel), and one for the puppet. When I go to Transform (Puppet) > Scale and change the values, the only thing that gets larger or smaller is his torso/body. The arms, legs, and head don't scale at all.Can anyone help? Thanks!
My character won't stop shuddering/shaking. They have a full case of the jitters. I tried adjusting the smoothing, but it doesn't seem to have much of an effect. Does the problem lie with the camera on this old laptop?
my software features almost not enable. my own puppet not to inport in file. how to fix them
Hi dear community I have a puppet, which I created about two years ago and it worked just fine. Now I wanted to reuse it, and when I make the Lip sync form audio track, the Aa mouth move doenst show up. Any ideas, where the problem might be? I've attached the puppet to thias post. thanks in advance
In the sample rig "Heather"(Wizard Girl) there is an object called "headPivot" and in CA it shows up in the "Attach to" drop down menu, and the head is using it as a pivot point. I can't for the life of me figure out how this was done. My art file structure is exactly the same as the Heather art file, but the headPivot object wont show up in the "Attach to" drop down. What is the process on that set up?
When I go into Puppet Maker and create a custom seafolk puppet (row 5, second from left), and select "No background," I see the checkerboard background that indicates transparency behind the puppet. However, when I generate the puppet for a project, he arrives 100% of the time with the dock background.I have generated other puppets with transparent backgrounds, and they work fine.Is there something I am not doing correctly, or is this a bug? Thanks!
Hi All, I'm trying to test out pro features of Character Animator, but the free trial really isn't a free trial, it's more of a free week before you start paying for a subscription. I've not used Character Animator before, and we've not yet committed to any software, and we'll need to be testing various software out, not just this, so commiting to this software by entering my credit card details before I've even yet to open the software up (outside of starter mode) is just unrealistic. I'd like to use the Adobe software but am not willing to throw around my credit card numbers for this fake trial. Is there a way around this?
Hello!I am wanting to use this product but I am trying to find out if Adobe saves the video of my face when I use the character animator? There isn't anything blatently calling out that it does or doesn't so I wanted to make sure before continuing. If anyone has information, it would put my mind at ease.Thank you!
Eye gaze works perfectly well on my characters Right Eye, but doesn't work at all on the Left Eye. My layer hierarchy, tags, and crown layers for both eyes are exactly the same for both eyes. Both eyeballs are tagged as "Left/Right Pupil Range", both pupils tagged as "Left/Right Pupil" The eyeballs are bigger than the pupil layers as well. Unfortunately I can't share my project file or a screenshot of the puppet as this is client work, but here's my layer hierarchy. Thanks for any help!
I am an Adobe Creative Cloud user. I upgraded my computer with a new motherboard and 16 GB of Ram and a 1TB solid state drive. All off the rest of my applications run fine but when Character Animator loads it greys out and gives a not responding message. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled the software but the problem is still occurring. Any ideas what my problem is?
Hello everyone I'm new to character animator and long story short, I kow the origin of the puppet is supposed to turn green that way all of the body parts can be connected and rigged together correctly that way the puppet can function correctly but unfortunatley for some reason the origin of my puppet does not have the green ring around it and when I go to try and connect the body parts nothing lights up green. At one point it did but now it doesnt. Although I was able to still connect the body parts it does not work well with the motion library like it once did. I believe that's why it's not working good anymore in motion library due to the origin not working correctly. May someone please help me in getting my origin to become back green and work correctly. It will be greatly apperciated.
How would I go about connecting 2/+ computers to OBS (all using a character animator puppet) if they are not in the same building? This would be people across the US. Thank you!
Hello, community. I would like to modify my voice in a live stream, is there any way character animator can change for example the pitch of my voice and output it so that it will sound different in my live stream? I have a deeper voice than what I want my character to sound like. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. It has to work while streaming live because the activity requires it. Thanks again
I for some reason have two mouths showing up in my artwork, I looked to see if I had an extra one enabled in photoshop, but nothing is out of the ordinary, anybody know whats up?
Hello! I'm having some problems with the mouth of my character. The shapes look perfect in illustrator and in the puppet panel but in the scene they have a little deformation (as if one half of the mouth is a few pixels higher). I try everything but nothing seems to work. Some ones what it might be? Thank you!!
Hello!! 🙂 I am a beginner and I have created my very fist puppet. I checked for rigging issues and I have fixed everything in the list. My character have legs and I fixed her legs to stay stable but she is stiff with no head movement. When I move on camera her entire body moves and I do not know how to fix that issue. I have attached a photo for you to review. Can some please give me so advice? Thank you!
This is a silly oversight by ADOBE. Please add a text headers to these CHPROJ files."ADOBE CC - (c)2023" should do it.It just won't work with Dropbox and potentially other archive ad backup applications. Having to ZIP these is a waste of time.PS: AS a reminder, please don't bother to tell me to Zip these files. The workflow doesn't work this way when sharing with others via Dropbox.Windows OS 11Version 23.1Saving a file always is 0 KThe expected result is a 1K file minimum!
HiI'm getting the aforementioned warning on my puppet and it is driving me a little crazy because it keeps popping up over the timeline when i'm trying to edit stuff. I think it it set up correctly because Body, Limb IK and Motion Library are all on the base puppet layer:The ML animation works fine so I don't know what the problem is. I don't think I have these behaviours on any other layer inside my puppet but it's hard to check properly without going through everything (unless there is a quick and easy way to see all behaviours and where they are - if there is i'd love to know!) Any idea why this is happening?
My company archives all their projects to DrobBox, but because a .chproj file contains zero bytes, Dropbox won't copy it. So...how do I archive my .chproj files?
will there ever be a version of character animator available for ipad?
