Hello I am new to Adobe Char animater and I just created a character following the tutorials on OkaySamurai. I dont know if I am missing something really simple but can someone tell how to keep the hands in the same position? These hands are supposed to be on his side so they should not be moving as they are??? https://bcove.video/3QXNrTk Can anyone help. I have downloaded other puppet templates but I can not figure out what the difference is in the rigging settings.
I have problems with the neck as the head moves along with the rest of the body... the puppet seems suffer some deformations when i start moving... here is how it´s rigged... When I use the full body camera there is a lot of jittering and the torso appears to have been pinned to the background. Ive have already played with independence with different parts of the body and I have even turned on face time because it said in the forum that it improved mobility I have also changed the scene settings and Im recording at 60 f per sec. Legs, arms, tail and face are independent as well as the zipper from the sweat shirt to be able to add some dangle to it. Last but not least. Ive noticed that the puppets from adobe dont get deformed when you get close to the camera or leave the scene but mine does. Any ideas on how to solve it???
Hi,I'am member of a french university. I have an Creative Cloud All Apps for education plan managed by my institution.6 month ago I started a project with Character Animator with Pro mode.Since the beginning of July, i can't open this project anymore. See the attached screenshots.I don't understand why i can't use le the pro mode.All my other app of the Creative Cloud are OK (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshops, Illustrator, Bridge...)Doesn't anyone has an idea to solve this problem ?The Pro Mode is not include in the Creatice Cloud ?We are several to have this problem in my instution.Thanks in advance for you answers.Best regardsArnaud

I'm trying to drag Sam's arm into a pointing position while she's walking. I drag the arm in the position you see in the first image and I record like that, but when I play back the arm is in the position you see in the second image. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello, I am trying to build the following exercise, but the charachter doesn't move his foots (step 1 till 3):In the video step 3 I can see that the character walks but when I move the character from here to the field and try to test, the feet doesn't move. After added the character, the frames look like this:Can someone help please?
all audio on my computer works perfectly in every application except character animator. I have checked the preferences and it is using ASIO and using my correct audio device. This is so frustrating as I have current projiects that need to be worked on immediately. What is the problem? I have been in every forum and all fixes that existed for a problem with an older version do not work.
Hi there, I am a dentist and interested to explore if I can use the Characterizer to simulate a 3D virtual rendering of a new smile makeover. My idea is that in dentistry, we can digitally design new teeth and align them to a frontal face image with a wide smile showing the existing teeth and gum. The question is:Can I use this image to replace the image that shows the original teeth in the adobe characterizer so that I can choose "no style" and show the original face with the new teeth? If possible, I can ask the patient to record the video in the characterizer in the standard fashion and obtain a 3D video rendering of the future teeth.
I installed Character Animator 22.5 to a Windows 10 system. I can open the program no problem. the other user on the system gets an error 205. I changed back to Character Animator 22.4 on the same system. the other user does not get any errors. Any ideas on a fix? thanks.
Hello, I'm trying to rig a character to move their head with my mine in my webcam, and most of it seems to work. The head stays attatched to the body, the arms and legs bend as they should due to the limb ik, But the problem is, when I raise and lower my head, instead of the body moving to accomadate it just stretches and shrinks, causing a warping that ruins the entire thing. Is there something I've tagged wrong? Ive looked for other posts or videos on how to fix this but none of it seems to address what im getting. Any help would be much appreciated
Hi! I can't get the legs to track on my puppet. Video and screenshots attached. Here's what I've tried:- Rigging the legs on thier individual layers -- tried both independent and not- Rigging the legs together on the torso layer, or on the overall frontal view layer- Checked that the handles are registering, and that the tracking points are checked on- Unchecked pin to ground in limb IK- I've downloaded and loaded an example puppet with leg tracking and it worked on my system to check if that was an issue for some reason- Making draggable heels -- the mechanics of the legs work when dragged, but does not track Any help is greatly appreciated, feel totally stuck. Thank you!
Hey guys, I have a 2 view Puppet, frontal and right view for walking. However when I press the right arrow key the puppet is walking to the right but the frontal view puppet stays does not disappear. How do I make the frontal view disappear and the right view appear when pressing the arrow key?
Hi there all, I am currently learning the Character Animator application. This is so interesting! I am not there yet at the stage where I am able to create my own characters. I am currently still using the Puppet Maker function. I know what I did but I don't know how to undo it.I was minimizing my timeline, cheerfully hitting the minus key over and over, when I got this error message:And now, I can't figure out how to fix it. I've tried the plus key (duh) and closing and restarting the application. Any help will be much appreciated!

Hello All my Character animation projects cannot open and give this error
Not sure what this is all about. Went to launch the app and got these two. The smaller one first, and the bigger on afterward. Clicking the blue OK just closes it. Last session all I did was export a Scene. It all was normal. I've rebooted the machine and got the same. Thoughts? Thanks.
I have a Character Animator scene that is about an hour and a half. When loading that Ch project in After Effects, Adobe Ch Headless takes 12 GB of RAM. That's too much and causes a low memory warning in After Effects so I can only play previews that are less than 10 seconds. Is there anything I can do to make Character Animator use memory more efficiently?
For some reason when I export my character via character animator (or import via dynamic link in after effects) my character glitches out!When I tried to export it as a PNG sequence, or .mov file, or dyanmic link it, I get this weird problem with the legs and hips separating... it doesn't look like that in the viewport of Character Animator!HELP! I have not had this weird problem before 😞

Hey there,I'm having an issue with clipping masks, which im aware is a limitation of Character Animator recognizing clipping layer groups from Illustrator. Ive browsed all the previous community questions and answers regarding the issue (including Reddit and other tutorials) and have also submitted the requested change/update to Ch. Ive tried using the pathfinder crop tool (had to edit the strokes position to the outside line, otherwise i lost all the line work in the exposed area) but also saw no changes to layer structure or clipping of the characters mouth in Ch. Ive also attempted to use the clipping tool in the puppet menu in Ch. with no luck. Im hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction, as ive spent more time then id like to admit getting the mouth sets organized (looks great in illustrator). Is there a way to remove the shapes that still exist outside the clipping mask, so they have no way to show in Ch.? Erasing them is tedious and also not very
I am having trouble making my single-unit body character walk. The character is a sheet of paper with arms and legs. (See attached.) When I use the arrow keys to make it walk it warps horribly. I narrowed it down to a flaw with the design, it's hierarchy, how I rigged it or how I've tagged it. :0 )I used both Footy and Eliza puppets for reference with hierarchy and tagging. (See attached) Does anyone have ideas what the problem is and how to correct it? I've uploaded the puppet to Adobe Cloud for you to examine.
Initially, the whole body (with the table included) would move, so I went into rig mode and used the pin tool. As you can see, I added the pins to the table so it wouldn't move. Now, my character doesn't move at all. Really, I just want the head to be able to move slightly. Nothing else. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong.
Hello,I've read through all the forums and cannot find an answer to this question. I'm working off of a Windows 11. everything is up to date and using the latest version of character animator. but everytime I turn on the webcam it will turn on for 2 seconds then image will flip off then get a "waiting for camera message" even though the camera light is still on. my camera works on all other apps. Character animator is the only app that is open and i've tried restarting and uninstalling then reinstalling. im running out of ideas. PLEASE HELP
