I need a script wiwh can import multi pages PDF. Please help !chris

I'm using FM2015 alone. I don't have RoboHelp. I also tried this under FM12 with similar results. I'm trying to use the Publish to Responsive HTML5 feature, but my TOC is not looking correct. I started with a new simple book with 1 document and 1 generated TOC. The main problem I have is that the resulting table of contents that appears in the left pane of the resulting html lists all my topics at 1 level, instead of an "outline" of the topics. For example, if have TOC levels for H1, H2, and H3. I expect to see something like:* H1 heading     * H2 heading          * H3 heading     * H2 headingInstead I get everything at the same level.In the "Style Mapping" settings I marked the heading paragraph styles as "split into topics based on this style". I also have a standard TOC generated with all the headings in there. Can I control the TOC that appears in the responsive HTML output? I'm using the "Azure_Bl

I customized the master pages in ChapterOutputTpl.fm (changed page size and text frame) and generated a PDF from my DITA book with the Publish command (after importing the customized ChapterOutputTpl.fm). The headers, footers, and main content of the PDF have the correct page layout; however, all of the tables extend into the (right) page margin. I have tried to resize the tables in the *.dita files, but they keep reverting to their default width when I reopen the file. I tried the solution in https://community.adobe.com/t5/framemaker-discussions/framemaker-dita-tables/m-p/10956885#M65232 but this did not work for me in FrameMaker 2020. Can anyone help me with this?

Hi, I have a client using Flare for HTML Help. They currently import unstructured FrameMaker content into Flare. They are moving to DITA for some of their content, but want to continue to use Flare for HTML Help. Has anyone set up a Flare project that maps FrameMaker DITA templates to a Flare project? Hello and a happy new Year,I am quite new to Adobe Framemaker. I noticed, that some letters are shifted after creating the PDF. (see attachment). Even swichting the font from Myriad Pro to Calibri does not help, it makes it even worse. Has anybody an idea? I searched the internet but could not find any helpful tips. The console prints: German:"Schrift ＭＳ 明朝 ist nicht verfügbar.MS Mincho wird in dieser Sitzung verwendet."Englisch:"Font ＭＳ 明朝 not found.MS Mincho will be used in this session".Is this the reason? But why does is happen with Calibri, too? How can I fix this?Thank you very much for your help.Kind regards,Sebastian

I was creating a TOC from scratch today and realized how nice it would be to have buttons to flip back and forth between types of pages, rather than using the menus, or even the shortcuts. I'd be happy to have them added to the Quick Access toolbar, but would be even happier to get a new Template Design toolbar that also includes buttons for the Table, Object, Para, and Character Designers.  I usually use Alt V B B to return to body pages, with similar shortcuts to master and reference. But even these shortcuts are cumbersome when flipping back and forth every few minutes. I started this project in 2018 - then only with the entries I just needed. The document had about 60 pages. Now I took the effort with the help of some tools to complete the document. Now we have about 16000 table rows with English, German and French text in a 360 page PDF. Use cases are Have a terminology (matching that of FM) for custom tool bars, custom dialogues and custom scripts. Find the correct label of a button for support of a client with other language. Find the ESC sequence for a known command in another language. Is there really no tool tip for a particular toolbar button? Yes, things like this happen. The PDF contains all extracted localised strings from the following dlls: fmdlg.dll, fmres.dll, owlres.dll and the menus and toolbars of the structured interface, WYSIWYG workspace. My IT manager is trying to pay for my subscription to FrameMaker. He was told by the support engineer that FrameMaker is going to be discontinued and to use Spark. Utter nonsense?

I created a concept topic using FrameMaker DITA1.3. There is a simpletable element in this topic. I customized the column widths of this two-column simpletable to 10.1 cm and 4 cm. Then I saved this topic file to xml and get the simpletale element looks like this: <simpletable relcolwidth="72* 28*" scale="100" frame="all"> <strow> <stentry>Description</stentry> <stentry>Remark</stentry> </strow> </simpletable> But when I re-open this topic file with FrameMaker, the simpletable's columns became two equal-width columns. Hi All, I am currently using version 16.0.3 of FrameMaker and build version 16.0.0.211 of FMPS. Motive : I am trying to do an XSLT transformation to create a XML file( Task 1 ), which will be used to Publish as a PDF file(Task 2), I am trying to do this via FrameMaker installed with FMPS. Problem : As I have mentioned above that our requirement from FMPS is that I want to execute a sequence of a couple of tasks which are interdependent(Task1's output is Task2's input), but when I am executing the sequence, I am noticing an arbitrary behaviour in the Queue Management system of FMPS as when I am executing the sequence of API calls sometimes what happens is that the task which I request for to run at the end runs firsts and as the tasks are interdependent it disturbs the flow. Any insight on how to tackle this issue. Thanks  

Dear community, I am using FMPS 2020 and I have the following issue:The task ran correctly, Framemaker is closed automatically, however the task status shows RUNNING still and the command window is stuck "waiting for Framemaker to stop". Many thanks in advance,Marc

Hi FrameMaker Community:   I need to add an asterisk to an equation, but whenever I tap Shift+8, a new equation object (a ?) appears. Any ideas? That equation should have a superscript w,* above the subscript t. (Copy/paste doesn't work.)   Thanks in advance, ~Barb  

I can't seem to find any specific clarification on the Help file. Can someone clarify the order in which the Master Page Mapping is applied? In my Master Page Maps I have two rules that changes the master pages based on two specific elements:Element A changes the master pages to ones without headers/footersElement B changes the master pages to ones that have a landscape layoutIf Element A and Element B appear on the same page, regardless which one appears first on the page, the Mapping for Element A is applied. If only one of these elements appear on the page, the correct master pages are applied. Is the mapping applied on a first in the list rule? I.e. for each Master Page Map rule, the page is scanned, and if the Element appears, the rule is applied and no further rules are checked?

I have Geneated a book file as normal,When i go to save it using this name "CW1040-9 ILLUSTRATED PARTS LIST REV 17 - V20A012.book" Framemaker has started to shorten it to CW1040-9.booAfter checking with other files it seems to do the same with standard .fm files (limits to 8 chars + 3)This has only started happening today, I have no idea why, i tried restarting the machine but it still the same.I have tried it in other programs and they are fine (just framemaker). Any help will be appreciated.

Saving document to rtf leaves a list of  fonts at the beginning of each chapter. Is there a way to stop this?

Hi, received an old FrameMaker file, I think from 2019. I inserted a few tables to the document and the tables created 2019 have a grey shade or box around the tables and around all the cells (see the top red box in the attached image). When I zoom in, it looks like small crosses. When I am inserting a table in the file, the table looks fine (see the bottom red box in the attachment). I have compared all the settings and parameters between the two tables and they are the same. Dose anyone have any ideas what is causing the shades?/Magnus

We previously used Unstructured FrameMaker. Our Table of Content was generated using Paragraph Styles. Whenever we converted our documents to PDF and opened the PDF in Acrobat Reader, the bookmarks appeared like this: Clicking on the bookmark would take you to the corresponding page in the document. We have since moved to Structured FrameMaker. Our Table of Content is now based on Element tags instead. When we convert our documents to PDF and open the PDF in Acrobat Reader, the bookmarks appear like this: Clicking on any of the bookmarks takes you to the location in the Table of Content, not the corresponding content page in the document. (Incidentally, clickin on the topic in the Table of Content does take you to the corresponding content page in the document.) We are creating PDFs using the Save as PDF option. How to align texts vertically and horizontally with in a text frame?

Occasionally Framers will complain about TOC links being broken in the resulting PDF. This is actually by "design"; when there is a character property change in the paragraph, the link will not extend beyond the change. Here is a snippet from the FrameMaker 2019 help: That is why you see this in your PDF (links are indicated by the rectangles): My solution is simple: it is a script that simply duplicates the Hypertext marker in each paragraph where ever there is a character property change. This is how it will appear in the PDF: Each rectangle is a separate link, but of course they all go to the same destination. I use FM19 to generate ResponsiveHTML5.In the Publish Settings, I have checked the "Generate XML Sitemap" box, and the file sitemap.xlm is now generated.However, I have also specified a "Base URL of the Help System" - but the generated sitemap.xlm does not include the URL that I specified. For example, an entry looks like: <url><loc>/Manuals/SQL_standards/SQL_standards.htm</loc><lastmod>2021-12-16</lastmod><changefreq>monthly</changefreq></url> I did expect the web site URL to be included here.How can I include that part of the URL?

Hello. I've spent a ton of time getting a .css that matches a book with over 35 chapters. We get the pdf ready for the printer, then publish the same content to HTML 5 for a software product.  For the past number of years, this would happen fairly seamlessly. There would be cleanup of tables, but the overall formatting was good-to-go for the most part. However, when I used FM 2020, the output was radically different than it has been in the past -- the index isn't working (it's showing the Frame code used for the index markers), most of the styles in my custom .css aren't being applied (a few are ie., for body and headings), among quite a few other things.  Previous builds have also only generated one .css, and I'd add my custom .css  tho all the files using regular expressions. Now it's auto-generating three different .css, including one that appears to be for Robohelp -- which I haven't seen in years.-------------------------------<link href="../../rhs

Ok, this pretty simple. According to Sharepoint, we have 260 ish files in a single folder. But the Repository Manager will only show around 200 of them at once. Is this normal/intended? Will it only show 200 files per folder/tree level? Cheers, Tom.

I'm using FrameMaker 2020 (v16.0.2) just long enough to build output templates for the FMPS and AEM XML. I need to be able to hide all <draft-comments> in the PDF output (and eventually all outputs). In our current system, these were automatically hidden in outputs so we've made extensive use of them as notes between authors that are not deleted. I can see that <data> or <data-about> may have been the better choice for this sort of thing, but that ship has sailed. 🙂 Is there any way to hide draft-comments in all outputs? I'm assuming that's handled somewhere in the EDD.FM file. I found where the draft-comments are defined, but I'm not seeing any place obvious to set the output to "hide". Is it in the outputclass setting?
