When I use variables in Illustrator, the font changes automatically as soon as the variables start using the values from the CSV file. 

I'm a graphic designer, using mostly Illustrator, but also Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Acrobat. My current 32 GB RAM is not enough memory for my vector-heavy Illustrator files – I get file-swapping and crashes. MicroSoft Outlook is the thing that often shuts down the system! I’m looking at buying the Mac Studio with Apple M4 Max chip, 14c CPU, 32c GPU, 16c Neural Engine. Unlike with the iMac, you cannot upgrade the memory post-purchase, so I have to decide now how much memory to get. 48, 64 or 128 GB? I would love some feedback from anyone similar using this system.I've attached my current computer's specs and the Mac Studio I'm considering. I've been having a problem with this for a couple weeks now. I tried all of the work arounds in the following article - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-libraries-panel-doesn-t-load-in-desktop-products.html - and none of them worked.  I updated my OS (now on macOS Sequoia 15.4.1) and it didn't fix it.  A member of my company's IT team helped me to uninstall all my adobe apps, including clearing preferences, a couple more things, and reinstall. Didn't fix it.  Finally I tried logging into a different user on my computer and the libraries panel works fine on this one which is fine, but all my downloaded fonts, including Helvetica which we use for our brand, don't seem to work well.  I'd really like to be able to use the normal user that I have all my OS preferences set the way I like on + all the fonts that I frequently use for various things. Is there any reason why Creative Cloud Libraries would work on one user

This is relatively new within recent ai upgrades.Can we please revert back to preview mode ONLY for layer thumbnails regardless of how we view the layer on the artboard. This was changed recently. Why? If you choose to make changes like this, make it an optional preference, as long time users probably don't like these changes.

Maybe a rookie mistakeWorked in Illustrator and had artwork and ideas off the artboardand mistakenly worked in a pdf filewhen it was closed it was saved as a pdf filehow do Access the artwork that is not on the artboard ?you brows and see the ideas (on the screenshot attached) but when openened in Illustrator it is not there?maybe it is gone forever?thank you

Hola comunidad, No sé si a ustedes les esta sucediendo lo mismo. Pero en la nueva versión de Illustrator (en algunos momentos) tira un error desconocido que no permite salvar el archivo y anula la función de [Recuperación]. ¿Alguno conoce alguna solución a esto sin desinstalar esa versión y volver a la anterior? Gracias por su ayuda. Saludos.

I have created a conlang font that adds glyphs prior to text strings based on a few contexts:Capital lettersNumber strings  The capital letter condition places a marker glyph before the capital.The number string places brackets around the string, including a special open bracket for negative numbers.When used in Photoshop, it behaves as expected but does not in Illustrator. Contextual Alts are turned on in the OpenType panel.I'm updated to the latest in both apps.Any ideas why the type is rendering differently in different apps?

Hi, I am experiencing an error message which states: The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error.PARM I found a similar topic, but for some reason when I try to post a reply, I get an error message in the forum as well. The problem in my case occurs even with different .ai files or .pdf files, when I try to use Trace after I rasterised a group of shapes/text for a logo. I can easly get rid of the message clicking Ok fortunately. My tech specs are: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)2.3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i58 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 1536 MBmacOS Big Sur 11.5.2 Yesterday I performed a troubleshooting which did not resolve the issue:- Uninstalled Illustrator.- Deleted .plist files.- NVRAM Reset.- Recovery Mode/Disk Utility/First Aid.- Safe Mode.- Reinstalled Illustrator.- New Admin User. I was just concerned that the project files are corrupted and that the message was due to the damag

When I use VBA to write code to manipulate Illustrator (through COM references), it can automatically prompt and complete the properties, objects, and methods of Illustrator.. This is very useful and convenient for writing code. However, when I write Python code to manipulate Illustrator in PyCharm (also through COM references, pypiwin32 library), it does not have this automatic prompt. I need to enter the complete object and method names, which is very easy to input errors. How can I write Python code in PyCharm with this prompt? Tks! Object attribute/ method tips in VBE:

I have a text heavy Illustrator file with lots of text boxes.I just updated from the Mac OS from Monterey to Sequioa and when opening the file the font appears larger. The font I am using is an apple font Maku.  I have tried different versions of Illustrator (28.7, 24, 25), it doesnt make a difference.I have tried disabling "Enable Missing Glyph Protection", also didnt workI have tried deleting and reinstalling the font, didnt work Any suggestions please!  

I have been looking at the AI generated results because I am a professional designer who pays a lot for my monthly subscription and am appauled at how bad the results are. Is adobe trying to destroy the creative industry by using sub standard functions in to their applications. Not only do some of the results have no resemblance to what actual subjects look like, but the amount of extra anchor points and bad joins would take a designer a couple of hours to go through and fix. Please adobe, look at what you are producing, the cost is too high, Photoshop generative fill is very poor resolution too and you can easily see the join from where the AI has badly done its job. None of the AI features are of any use to a print designer, as print is so unforgiving and the wuality just isn't there. And before a community expert says can you post some examples, I am not wasting my time screengrabbing things that you are all aware of and are ignoring already. Why can a review Link only be updated by the owner of the file?I need my team to be able to work on the file and also update the review link see everybody can see the changes...The Cloud File Collaboration is really useful, but if the review link cannot be updated by everybody who can EDIT this file THIS MAKE NO SENSE, right???Or how do you do this?Thanks in advance!

My days have been a constant struggle recently due to Illustrator spinning objects around with the speed of light when using the "reflect tool" and have "smart guides" turned on. I select the object with S (selection too), then press O (reflect tool) + hold down shift to reflect / rotate objects around using my mouse, and release both when I have the shape in in the direction I wanted. The problem is: smart guides show up, and Illustrator spins the objects so fast while desperatly trying to align it to seemingly anything and everything that's in my document. The "reflect tool" works just fine when I have "smart guides" turned off. I only have "snap to point" selected, nothing else. Is there a sensitivity setting, or could I tell illustrator (Adobe should and should've done this already btw!!!) to prioritize objects on my screen instead of trying to align it to everything?Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi.I want to ask. For example, I have two artboards, artboard 1 named "X" and artboard 2 named "Y". The default color of the artboard is white. But I want to change the color of the artboard "X" to black and keep the color of the artboard "Y' white. If using "Document Setup" it will change all the artboard colors. I know I can change the color of the artboard with a rectangle but I don't want that, because I want it to have a transparent background when exported or printed to avoid mistakes. Can I change the artboard color on a specific artboard? Thank you ~

I have my tool windows snapped to the right hand side of the screen, but when they are "snapped" the bottom buttons of my windows are cut off from the screen, and I am unable to grab and pul the bottom back onto the screen. you can see here the missing buttons from the apperance panel.   I can move the mouse to the bottom of the screen and access some of the buttons, but not all of them. as you can see here.   I have found a temporary solution by adding in a tool window to the bottom of my panel that I do not use, that itself gets fully ran off the screen. 

how can I erase with a rough or paint like brush?

Has anyone else ran into this issue, and possibly have a workaround? Using the following Applescript in macOS 14.5 and Illustrator 27.x or 28.5, I am unable to save an Illustrator file with an embedded ICC profile. The file saves, but the profile does not remain embedded. save document 1 in filePath as Illustrator with options {embed icc profile:true}I have verified that a) the ICC profile was already embedded in the source document, and that if I save the file via the GUI, checking the box to save the ICC profile works. Using AppleScript to save the Illustrator file does not retain the ICC profile.I also posted this on Macscripter. I believe this to be a bug and will submit that report soon.

I've been struggling with an issue regarding the direct selection tool. In much earlier versiions of Illustrator, when points of an object were selected using the direct selection tool, only those points would move if moved to a new position. Now though I'm forever getting the whole object moving, and the unselected points will then snap back to their original position when the mouse is released. It does this in CC2020 and 2022. The attached screen recording shows what I mean (for clarification, I only want the top points in the selection to move). Is this how the direct selection tool is now supposed to work? If not, what am I missing? Any help appreciated.

The following is my code. It works when I use version 2023, but it fails when I use version 2024. OK - I upgraded to Illustator 2024, where ON EARTH did my open documnets along the top go? I could click between them ASAP and now I have to scoll to the bottom of the "window" tab? See attached pics

Good day, Please could somebody assist me with opening Adobe Illustrator files in Versaworx 2024. If i open Versaworx and try to open the ai art file this message pops up.So then i save the file as a CS3 file and still this message come up. Should i save the file as a CS4 or later version? thanks
