Hi, I created a business card for print. My business card includes an image with transparency. How can I ensure that it prints correctly? I was told there could be issues, but I am unsure how to optimize it.   

Hi, i'm having an issue where my default stroke alignment is align to inside, i've tried looking through the forums for help but everything leads to default stroke to centre. The issue is here is when i'm opening illustrator files in other programs, i'm getting double lines from the alignment to inside which is causing me major issues.I really just need my default alignment to centre. i've also tried to make new user accounts, but everything seems to be the same? Closing illustrator reverts back to default stroke align to inside...?Any ideas how to fix this?

Im looking for script that I can run, that will draw a cross-hair in the center of every circle in my file. this is for precise drilling locations where the holes are marked with a circle. thanks

Illustrator v29.2.1Windows 10 Pro 22h2When exporting from illustrator to a jpeg, the result is that the print is not in the same location on the jpeg as it was on the illustrator file. Been doing this the same way for years, and now it is not working correctly. Any help ASAP appreciated, because nothing I tried has helped.

Hi everyone,  Made a DWG file from Autocad with LOTs of polylines. But when I try to open it in Illustrator to edit the colours/line weights, it opens with lots of added straight lines that connect the ends of every single open loop lines. It also puts a zig zag line along every single curved line. Has this happened to anyone? is there a quick fix? or do I really have to select every single added line and delete them?  Thanks in advance! 

It would be great when the switcher for the stroke/fill would change (when an object is selected) to foreground when an object has a stroke and no fill and vice versa (contextivity) to fill. Mostly, when an object has a stroke color, I want to change this and not the fill color. That would ease the handling within a workflow significant when working for hours.

I've noticed a bug where when I create an object, I can't simply apply a stroke to it by selecting a colour from the swatch icon in the control dock. When I select the stroke colour icon and choose a colour it changes the fill colour instead, whereas previosuly a new stroke would be applied with the chosen colour. In the screenshots below I have a black fill on the rectangle object. I then try to apply a yellow stroke and in the following screenshot, you can see that it changes the fill instead.In the third screenshot, I have added a stroke by selecting the dropdown menu for the stroke weight then selected the stroke colour icon and chose my colour which should be blue but it changes the fill instead.

I want my Color Profile to remain sRGB IEC61966-2.1 but Illustrator keeps switching to Display making the colors way too bright. Usually it's when I go to a different program then back to illustrator it switches to Display and I have to go Edit/Assign Profile and choose sRGB IEC61966-2.1 again. Thanks for the help!

However, I cannot find a way to download this version through my Adobe account or the Creative Cloud application.Please provide guidance on how to access and install Illustrator 2023, as it is critical for meeting the client's requirements.Thank you.

For the life of me, I'm unable to find the Paragraph Rules Panel. I want to specify a Paragraph Style that adds a rule at the end of each paragraph, but that option isn't listed in the submenu.I've attached a screenshot of the submenu that shows what's SUPPOSED to be there (17 active options: Keep Options, Span Columns, Hyphenation, etc.) along with one showing what I see in MY Paragraph submenu (only 7 active options).Admittedly, I've been retired for a few years now, and always feel rusty whenever I open any of the Suite apps, but this seems like it ought to be a no brainer.Can anyone tell me what I'm missing?Thanks,Bob

I have been asked to design a highly illustrated packaging box. I was given a PDF template of the box, which I am illustrating on top of using Procreate. I find Procreate a simple way of creating images, however once I transfer both a PNG and a PDF file (which is set in 300dpi and appears to be "high quality") onto Adobe Illustrator, the file is pixelated. I have used "Image Trace" and altered the settings of the paths and corners to vectorise the image but the outcome of this distorts the original image (both in shape and colour). I was wondering whether there was an alternative for this? Also, I was wondering whether there is a chance that I could connect my Ipad (and Apple Pencil) to my Mac so that I can use this as a graphics tablet? It would be really useful if I could draw using a my Apple Pencil straight onto Adobe software but I'm unsure whether this is possible.  If this isn't possible, does anybody have any suggestions on software, devices or techniques wh

Hi, Im going nuts trying to fix this.Whenever I start a new project in illustrator my fill and stroke is automatically set to white and black.I do not want any stroke color set on a new project, just white fill.How do I set this as a standard?Thanks!

Hi, I'm using the most recent version of Illustrator for Windows and I feel like you used to be able to click and drag in the kerning dialogue box number slor to change it within the character panel when you had two text characters selected. Was this removed or did I dream it up?    Wouldn't your cursor change to two opposing arrows when you hovered over the symbol of each?

I have a script that adds a new parent layer and organises pageItems in sublayers. I wish for the view of the new layers to be collapsed rather than expanded and only show the parent layer. Thanks.   

In Adobe Illustrator, is there a way to check the Overprint Preview status (it looks like Overprint Preview is a property of the document) through a script? Hello everyone. I have been struggling for a few days with a problem when creating a script. I want to create a script that will add a bleed to my work on each side and fill it with a mirror image of the design. I have found the perfect solution which unfortunately does not work properly. The script adds the mirroring in the top left corner instead of deploying it near the edges of each page. I want to convert an SVG image to a PNG image that is 1200 pixels wide (as recommended by a journal). To do this, I changed the units to pixels in Illustrator and scaled the image to a W value of 1200. However, when I check the dimensions in the file properties after exporting, it says 2258 x 810 pixels. Can anyone tell me why this is and how I can scale the image correctly?

Previously, my shapes were created with no fill..  now shapes r created w gray filll and won't change to no  fill.When i try to fill a pattern. I get the pattern w a gray background!!!!!  ?????????

Hi ,I have a client that wants a Vcard Code using QRCode maker in Illustrator CC. I have used the QRCode Maker in illustrator but every time I scan it I am receiving it as TEXT instead of ADDRESSBOOK. The TEXT version won't allow me to add contact info into my address book. Is there a script or something I need to put at the beginning of the QRCode maker to change it over so it will read like a vCard? I need this resolved as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

When i hit "file" "new" nothing happens. screen stays black/blank.

I am running Mac OS 12.2.1 with Illustrator 26.0.3 and all of the sudden the arrow keys stopped working. I have relaunched the application and restarted my laptop and it is not fixing it. Any suggestions?  In Photoshop they work fine so I know it's not the keyboard.   Thanks!
