Has anyone else had this issue? illustrator freezes multiple times a day. It is not a regular freeze. I am working on a MacBook it does not say 'not responding'. Also, the top bar on Illustrator opens and lets me click around but does not actually do anything. I attached a video so u can see what's going on. I really don't want to force quit.  Anyone know of any solutions?   I tried keeping track of what makes it happen, sometimes its if i close my laptop, open another program like photoshop or like today when i was disconnected from wifi for a moment

When I make a new paragraph style with bullets or numbering  in an Illustrator document, I would like to reuse that. When I copy the style to the CC library, and apply that in a new document: the bulletstyle or numbering is lost. Instead when I copy the textbox to the library, and place that in a new document, the paragraph styles behave identical to how they did in the original document. I would suggest to make an improvement there, and not break the functionality of the paragraphstyles when used in a proper way through the library.. 

It's numbing - the performance of v29 is WAY SLOWER than when I had v28. I'm trying to find where I can download legacy versions of Adobe Illustrator.Can someone help?

Hello everyone,I recently translated a pdf via Adobe express.When I open the Adobe Express export in Illustrator, it automatically vectorizes the fonts even though they are well incorporated and editable in Acrobat Pro.I've been looking for a solution for a long time but haven't been able to find it.I have already tried to go back to .ps, also .ps which I have distilled into all the possible pdf versions, I have also tried .eps but nothing works.Do you have any ideas? Thank you.

Hi,Anyone having issue with saving a layered ai file as psd and importing into photoshop with layers?Currently the psd imported does not import with layers even though write layers and maximum editability is selected.

I have a freshly installed ne AI license on a brand new IMAC and system crashes repeatedly and frequently. I suspect problem may be connected to LINKED files. any advice other than to sign out -in again? 

Illustrator 2024 hanging when trying to open or create new file. OS: Windows 11 Pro 64bit latest updates Illustrator has the latest updates. I reinstalled the app multiple times. I also used Adobe uninstall utility to clean up any previous installation.

When I use the 'Find and Replace' function on an existing document, it changes the text to Metropolis Bold, no matter what the original font was. On the ' Find and Replace' pop-up dialogue box, none of the options like 'Match Case', 'Find Whole Word' etc are checked. On a newly-created document, it works fine (ie. doesn't change the font). It's never done this before on my old computer, but it has been an issue since using a new Mac. Is there a setting that I'm missing?

I just created a file and used pixelate > Color Halftones to make a halftone gradient. First time I've tried that. It essentially created a series of black dots on a white field that get progressively smaller as they go. Essentially making it look like I have a white circle in the middle of a black page taht slowly gets lighter as your eye goes toward the center due to the diminishing size of the dots. Neat effect. However, when I edited the gradient to make the effect irregular, Illustrator began to add a blue color to the dots. I was working in a black, grey, white pallate so that didn't work. To fix this I looked up an answer that said to select that layer and make it grayscale, which I did. It elminated the blue and I thought I was set. BUT, while it looks good on screen, when I export it, the dots that are normally black are a washed out gray color instead. There is also a very slight whiteish gray line around where the original circle would be, but only if I'm zoomed

I'm trying to create a new document. After I change the units to inches, it reverts back to pixels after I enter the first dimension value in. Why is it doing this, and how do I stop it?

I am trying to create a similar outline effect to the wavy/zigzag line in the pattern. Is there an effect for this? I know about the zigzag smooth effect but i need it to stay in a horizontal direction.

Is it possible to convert a Paintbrush path to a Pen path easily? The brush size messes with the stroke when being brought into After Effects. Basically, I work with an Illustrator who only uses the Paintbrush tool for everything, which would be fine if it was staying in Illustartor. But I'm bringing these images into After Effects and AE ignores the brush stroke size. If I convert these layers to AE shapes natively it creates shape paths around all the strokes as if you 'Expanded Appearance' in Illustrator.So, I use Overlord which keeps it a stroke path. But it ignores the brush size and only uses the stroke weight. So in AI there's a path with a brush stroke of 3 and a stroke weight of 3 gets converted to a thinner stroke of just 3 in AE, when it should be a thickness of 9. So, is there anyway to easily convert the brushpen paths to pen paths, without selecting them all changing the Brush Definition to basic and increasing the stroke weight to 9?

Hola. Hace tiempo que estoy con problemas al exportar diseños en illustrator porque me cambian los colores . Lo que me parece extraño es que solo me pasa cuando trabajo con mi marca personal, con mis otros trabajos no me pasa lo mismo, por lo que supongo que es el modo de color o el archivo. Quiero utilizar colores pasteles y al exportar me los cambia totalmente (los desatura). No encuentro solucion, podran ayudarme?    

When I use Illustrator to process chinese text, the software will enable Adobe chinese single-line composer by default. In this state, after bullets and numbering is done, the display in the file is normal, but after converting the text to outlines, the bullets and numbering will all disappear.If I manually change the writer of each text box to Adobe chinese every-line composer, bullets and numbering are still normal after converting the outline.But this operation is very troublesome, and if I forget to do this, the file must end up with errors.

I have created text and applied a 3D Extrude effect to it.How do I change the colour of the 3D shadow that appears behind the text?

Bonjour,  j'ai un bug sur le logiciel au niveau de la police d'écriture. Quand je veux entrer n'importe quel caractère dans un mot déjà écrit, la police d'écriture existante n'est pas respectée et le logiciel contraint une autre police totalement différente à chaque fois. J'ai supprimé cette police de mon ordinateur, mais le problème ne se résout pas et Illustrator cherche toujours cette police lorsque je tape un mot.  Merci d'avance pour votre aide. 

In Illustrator, "Tilde" key ~ seems to have some magical power: According to Adobe's site, it can "transform pattern (independent of object) when using Selection tool, Scale tool, Reflect tool, or Shear tool".  Sounds great! I wish I could play around with it, but... I use a French keyboard. No such key on my keyboard. ² key is not working. And to access the tilde character, I must combine alt + é/2 keys, which obviously results to a duplication of the selected object.I know I could change my keyboard through the Windows regional settings, but maybe there's another way.Maybe this key is hidden somewhere, or maybe I could change it through the keyboard shortcuts menu.  Any help appreciated.Specs: CS6 - Windows 7

In recent times, Illustrator 2024 has become very tempermental and does not allow me to save.I can progress through the dialog boxes fine, but the program seems to hang when i click Okay. It may save to 50%, 80% or 96% and then freeze. Renders the program useless and very frustrating. Running Windows 11.

Hello, I need to import PDFs into Illustrator and then edit them within the program. Is there a way to edit and shift around parts of the PDF without flattening transparency? The problem is that when I choose the setting to "convert all text to outlines", the final version of the PDF has thinner weights on the part of the PDF to which I applied this effect. If I don't convert the text to outlines, the PDF looks fine, however, Illustrator then has a problem interpreting some of the fonts that are in the originally imported PDF.  Are there ways around this? Can I get Illustrator to recognize those fonts so that I don't have to convert text to outlines? Or is there some other solution? Many thanks!

Desde que atualizei a versão 2025 (29.1), o illustrator está com uns bugs insuportáveis! O pior deles é o duplo clique. O meu é programado para isolar o arquivo, mas nunca acontece. Em qualquer clique que eu dê, na verdade, o objeto é selecionado e movido conforme eu ando com o mouse (mesmo não apertando). Parece um delay, mas mesmo eu insistindo no duplo, triplo, quadruplo clique, o objeto não é isolado e fica se movendo na prancheta conforme o movimento do mouse solto. Já fiz tudo para melhorar a performance do Mac e Illustrator, mas nada funciona. Está me atrapalhando demais a trabalhar! Como faço para consertar esse bug?

At first I thought it was the hidden text box and I tried to select all but it can't be selected for some reason.It's not a slice either. My Illustrator version is 28.7.1. Anyone knows what kind of bug is this and can it be removed? 

Hi all, I'm trying to get these four lines of type to be skewed in the same way, with matching vertical ascenders along a path. Is there a way to do this in illustrator and keep it editable text? Thanks in advance!
