I've been using Adobe Illustrator since 1999, and for the first time, I'm seriously considering switching tools. Who in their right mind removes the steering wheel from the driver and locks it in the glove compartment? This is, without a doubt, the most disastrous version ever released! The software feels completely rigid, with usability utterly decimated. You've altered fundamental shortcuts like zoom and navigation—without even providing the option to customize them! I’ll be exploring alternatives. Kudos to the team responsible for this mess, which was likely designed by people who clearly aren't real designers

Can i translate text in illustrator directly? is there any other way than copy and paste from ChatGPT or google translate into AI to translate a document in many languages? do i miss something ? 

When changing the size of a Text Area via mouse the text is repositioned within the available space.But I also regularly change sizes via the property panel in order to get the exact wanted values. But changing the size of the Text Area results in a deformed type (treated as a Point Type). When I reopen my Illustrator file, I only have one layer left. All the stuff is condensed in one layer as a group. Also, my canvas size changed automatically. And it becomes CMYK views.  Also, some of the patterns are invisible. (I did it with live painting)  I was so frustrated that I lost all my layers and It happened several times these days.  Could anyone help me please?

As you can see, here's one example of one object I'm unable to change to colour. I've changed the color options from "grayscale" to "CMYK", to choose what colors I want but when I select the desired color nothing happens.I've selected the object and expand, and still nothing happens.I've reset the settings to default and redo the above steps but nothing happens.Anyone have this issue before?

I am trying to curve a logo around a 3d bottle shape in Illustor. I created the bottle to wrap the loga around but I do not want the bottle to appear - just the wrapped logo. I may be misinformed, but from what I read in other posts - Illustrator;s newer 3D features do not let you supress/make objects you are mapping onto transparent - BUT the older/legacy 3D Revolve features DO allow you to make the object invisible. Where I get stuck is that apparently there is a major limitation in the legacy 3D features. Vector logos very often get distorted when you wrap around a cylinder but in the newer 3D features they nver get distorted.  I simply need the logo wrapped around the surface of the cylinder - but not have the cylinder appear. From what I read - everyone says to use the Legacy 3D Revolve - but that doesnt work because the VECTOR logos get mangled. And I need to use vector vs raster. Thanks for your help.

Does anyone have an extensive experience printing JPG images/files? Does it always print good even if it is JPG as long as the resolution is 300 DPI?

Let's say I want to create the effect shown here: a yellow fill with a bold black outline, and then a Block Shadow effect, and then a blue outline around the whole thing. The way I currently achieve this is by creating a new black fill under the yellow fill, then applying the Offset Path and Block Shadow effects to the black fill, and then I duplicate that entire fill and change the fill color to blue before adding a Pathfinder:Add effect and the final Path:Offset Path effect. My question is: is it necessary to duplicate the first Offset Path and Block Shadow effect before I can apply the blue Offset Path effect to the entire effect? Or is there a better, more efficient way of applying a new effect to the entire series of effects thus far?

Hi,The new 3D tools works well, but there is no setting to modify the shadow side of your object. It renders very dark, and I'd like to alter that.Any ideas? P.S. after I render w/ Ray Tracing (keeping the defaults) but choosing vector... why are my basic geometric shapes that had inflate applied no longer as geometric? I see odd flaws in the output.

I have problems with the Print Settings in Illustrator 2025 since it doesn't let me Adjust Page and choose the printer I need. It sends me directly to printer and scanner settings

I have been using one document to generate vector icons for a project. However, the file is slowing down immensely as there are many variations being generated to find the perfect icon. Is there any way to multi select the unused vectors to delete or do we have to delete them one by one? I wish there was a function to clear unused variations becuase its tanking my computer performance.

Hi there, I was wondering if someone could help me with this issue, I have to prepare a file for print and some of the images are below 300ppi.The images are embedded in illustrator and I dont have the packaged file.When I click unembed and edit in photoshop and increase the ppi it doesn't increase the resolution in illustrator when I click on links after saving. Any suggestions?My first thought was to get request a packaged illustrator file /original file and then increase ppi from those links. I also read somewhere sometimes you can't fix low resolution photos, thanks !

Suddenly, out of nowhere, I can no longer select and/or move the cyan guide lines on any Illustrator document. I was able to earlier today, and just BOOM. It stopped working. I've restarted the program and my computer but the problem persists. Please don't tell me Adobe has disabled this feature... I hate that it doesn't work in Photoshop, but I absolutely must have it in Illustrator. I've always been able to click on the ruler to create a cyan line, then drag it and use my arrow keys to move it to create a guide for placement inside a box. I'm using version 29.0, and like I said, just today it was working fine, but out of nowhere it stopped and restarting does nothing. And I haven't changed any settings. Please help!

For example: I have a Rectangel and a line. now i want to connect the left anchor point of the line with the Rectangel so when i move the rectangle the line stays connected with the rectangle, but only the left anchor point. The right one stays untouched. I want to create a flowchart, but stay felxible to changes. Now i need suggestions on how to acchieve this. Is there maybe another programm or a solution for my example at the top? Thanks for the help!!

I'm trying to create a code that selects the whole artboard and drags it to the Asset Export to save them as svg and png. Is it possible?

Hi- I save all my files as pdf. When I save a file to send to a client, it needs to be small, so I save as "Smallest File Size". In older versions, it would always default back to "Illustrator Default". How do I force it to always save that way, unless I change it?

Please help how to export in Illustrator eps svg png and jpg with one click, Affinity Designer 2 has this feature, I can export all formats, create folders and put all files in them

Hi,Wondering if someone can help me locate where a file that I've worked on multiple times might be? I finsihed the file and exported it as SVG, and PDF but the .AI file is not in my recents and my autosave's arent anywhere to be found. Is there any route to check where this file might be to re-open for an edit? Thanks! 

I use adobe illustrator 2024 so I didn't have any problems before. But suddenly there is a problem, the problem is that when I save an EPS file, the original icon of the EPS file is not showing. I want a solution.

I asked the Generate Vectors (Beta) to "Create a calligraphic drawing of the Urdu phrase "Allah mujhe sukoon de" in Urdu script. It immediately told me that I had violated Adobes terms of service. The phrase literally means, "God give me strength." Which is somewhat appropriate given the nonsense response. Does anyone have any idea why such a response was given. Literally nothing about my prompt violates anything on Adobe Generative AI User Guidelines.

I have a crescent shape I've repeated around a circle, with an interior line, but one of the crescent objects strokes dissapears when rotated between about 270-279°. The stroke is still applied throughout, it just *poofs* when its rotated. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Outlining the stroke does not work (as it just outlines the small visible portion).  I've attached a screen recording of the interaction. 

Hi, I'm setting up my design for print and using these water droplets. It looks beautiful and realistic in RGB, but once swapped to CMYK, they become very clunky. Does anyone know a way I can fix this? I've tried playing with the transparency styles, such as overlay/multiply/colour dodge, but they aren't giving me the desired effect. See images for reference!

Hello all,I am very disappointed with Adobe Support as they couldn't help me at all.I have received client's artworks in AI that when I open with Illustrator 2024 it shows me that these files have missing links, and it doesn't show anything.What's curious is that when I open with Acrobat, there's no such a thing! I can see all the images. If I open on a very olv AI version, like 2015, it also shows everything! IN FULL QUALITY!!!!But the "specialists" on Adobe support insists I am so f***ng ret**ed that I am not aware that these images I've never seen before are somehow in my computer, which wouldn't explain why they're missing on newer version anyways. For clarification, I HAVE NO IMAGES FOR THESE LINKS ANYWHERE in my computer, how the **** can I open in two adobe softwares but not on the newer version of Illustrator? Adobe Illustrator will not allow me to use images downloaded from Whatsapp. When I try to import them there is an error. Can explain why or give a quick work around that won't cost me extra time. 

Hi - I have graphics generated by another program that creates 5 point squares -- four corners and one intermediate point on the upper line.  As below: I would like to remove that center anchor point, so that distortion/transformations behave as I want.  "Simplify" seems to add curves, not quite what I want.  There are 1000s of these objects; so fixing by hand not really an optimal solution.  Any suggestions for automating this? Thanks!Jim
