Questions

Having an issue similar to this: Solved: "TDR detected" illustrator fails - Adobe Community - 7762234 today. Have tried several things over the past few weeks and the issue seems to keep popping back up. graphics card is a NVIDIA Quadro K4200 so the drivers listed aren't specifically helpful for the current pc build. I've tried using the most recent drivers as well as updated Illustrator to the most recent version. Windows updates are also up to date. I've uninstalled/reinstalled illustrator, repaired the Microsoft C++ Redistributible options, and ran a SFC /scannow which did find some corrupt files. I just restarted and will try to use it again. I did not try turning off enhanced lines yet and while turning GPU performance off may work it's not a viable fix long term when projects need it to function.Just posting this in case the error pops up again and I'm in need of some more help.Any tips would be appreciated, thanks.Matt

I have created a PDF to a particaular size with media and trim box set to 207x191mm. I then have to save this PDF as EPS format from Acrobat but when I then open this file in Illustrator it defaults to an A4 page size.Not sure why illustraor does not open the EPS file as the original size.For this particular workflow I need to export from PDF to EPS and not open the PDF from illustrator first. Any ideas would be appreciated.Thanks    

Hi everybody, I am trying to work with RTL text in Illustrator but I can’t change the paragraph direction so the punctuation appears at the wrong side of the text. This page, link below, says you can select the paragraph direction from the Paragraph panel. However, that option is not in my paragraph panel! I'm trying to erase parts of a path using the Path Eraser tool on a Compound Path and the tool keeps creating new paths. I have 3 compound paths in my scene and, I was able to erase parts of the paths on 2 of the 3 compound paths. Can anyone point what I am doing wrong?

Our client is asking us to use a specific Adobe Font (Museo Slab). Based on Adobe's info (https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/museo-slab#details-section+museo-slab-100) the font name is museo-slab. However, the exported SVG is using MuseoSlab-100.<text transform="translate(495.08 1192.77)" font-size="35" font-family="MuseoSlab-100, Museo Slab" font-weight="100">Dining</text>.We are using Asset Export to save out the files we need.  I have also attached a sample text file.  How do we set up Illustrator to save the SVG with the Web Font name? 

I'm completely new to Illustrator but I've been trying to search online for help with this, and I'm not coming up with much.  I have an illustration that I made in a rectangle.  I'm wanting to take this design and also make a square version of it.  Can someone point me in the right direction to do that?

I've tried Photoshop (photoshop.adobe.com) web beta on Chrome Linux, no problem.Then i've tried Illustrator Beta web (illustrator.adobe.com) on Chrome Linux, and it says  "need Chrome Mac or Chrome Windows", so I've changed navigator agent to Windows and it says "need WebGL" (with WebGL active).Please, make it work on any OS Chrome.  

Hola, siempre que hay una actualización grande de Illustrator, el plugin del Cut Studio deja de funcionar.A veces con tocar la escala y reinstalarlo, funciona nuevamente, pero ahora, con la nueva actualización, no consigo que funcione.Todos los programas están actualizados a la última versión.Me pasa siempre y al final, de tanto tocar botones, consigo solucionarlo, sin saber como.Pero con esta, ya estoy aburrido y no consigo corregirlo.Adjunto la imagen.

Why is an image not expanding however many times I click on it in Illustrator?

I will buy DELL and they have graphic card as follows:- NvidiaRTX A4000, 16 GB GDDR6, 4DP- NvidiaRTX A5000, 24 GB GDDR6, 4DP- NvidiaGeforce RTX 3090, 24 GB GDDR6X, 3DP, HDMII check your Nvidia card support list but DELL doesn't have any model in your list. Could you please confirm that illustrator can support all above graphic card model? If not, could you please provide the recommend graphic card of new Nvidia model?  Thank you. 

Hello all! Newbie here and needing some help, I uploaded a handsketch to Adobe Illustrator, used the pen tool to trace it and am now trying to color it but the system will not allow it. Any tips, or can someone see something I cant? Thank you!  

HelloCould someone help us with this conversion?We have artwork CMYK  +  Pantone (could be one or many).Now we want to convert it to CMYK+ORANGE+VIOLET values.I have theese values in csv. each pantone, separate file -->number of pantone.csvConversion should work with % value of pantone too.

I created a file that is basically a tall box with circles in it meant to indicate drill holes on a post. The drill holes are mechanically aligned to the center of the box in order to have the holes be perfectly centered. When I sent the file to the guy who was going to drill them, he told me the holes were off center. I verified this with a third part as well as printing it myself and checking with a tape measure.  Why would something that I aligned come out not aligned when printed?  Below is a screenshot of the file and a close up of one of the holes with a pink line I added and aligned to center. The holes on the far right post (T) are almost 1/8" off center yet when I align them, nothing moves. File is attached. Dear, when i try to apply changes to 3D elements or just try rendering them, my CPU goes up to 100%, while my GPU stays between 0 and 5%. Ive got a RTX3060 and Ryzen 7 5800x3D, so this is really confusing for me.The CPU usage causes my entire system to lag and Illustrator also just gets stuck and crashes after a few minutes. Can anyone assist me? Thanks

 How can I, or can I at all, change the order/overlay of the line at these two points (see screenshot)?This should look like a spatial spiral.

Is there a way to change zoom to command+mousewheel rather than option+mousewheel in Photoshop and Illustration? *I know how to set up zoom only on the mouse wheel, but when I use zoom with the mouse wheel, I want to know how to set it up so that I can press command and zoom in instead of option.

I'm an occasional .ai user in my company, but many others here use it as there primary worktool. It's very frustrating that I can't copy text from an ai text box and paste it into Pages or Email or Preview or Word for further editing - because Illustrator is not great for Wordsmithing! It pastes in as a picture. And I don't think it's to do with the text's formatting - but anyway, there is no way to Copy unformatted text out of Illustrator via the usual Command C shortcut. The only solution is to paste it into TextEdit and then copy it from there into other Apps. In Word (which I don't use) it is possible to Paste without Formatting but that is not an option in Pages, Email or PreviewAnd yet, paradoxically, I can copy out of any  and all Apps into an Illustrator text box via the usual keyboard shortcuts. I have tried all the permutations available under Settings/Clipboard Handling, but they make no difference.Is this just one of those very old Adobe Illustrator foibles that n

Ive looked through multiple pages of this forum tryin to find the answer, I really need this solved. the graphic is svg im not sure what the bottom one is but they're both embedded.

I cannot get rid of a drop shadow glitch on rather large object with rounded corners.  What to do? I used the Stylize>Drop Shadow menu on Illustrator v29.0 (Sequoia MacOS). 

Hi there!  I'm pretty new to Illustrator, so bare with me! I did an image trace for this file and expanded it under the object tab so I could seperate the paths into the individual layers. When I save the file to a "ai" file by clicking "save as", it saves with the image cropped in as seen in the second photo. What am I doing wrong and is there a way to fix this? Thanks! 

Hola, Adobe Illustrator presenta un par de problemas, el zoom in/zoom on de la animación es bastante lento, muy lento, tengo una laptop gamer HP Omen 2022 con almacenamiento de 1TB + 32GB de ram con tarjeta gráfica de 8GB + gráficos AMD, la tarjeta gráfica la reconoce, todo está activo y la transición es super lenta incluso sin ilustraciones, solo en la mesa de trabajo limpia, ¿cómo puedo solucionar esto?

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem/knows a solve?  I am exporting some screen content (1920x1080px) at 300ppi in illustrator, exporting as a JPEG (and tried PNG)at 100% quality -- and yet, the export is coming out super pixelated/not sharp. I export frequently at this size for my work and it always is high quality in exports, so I'm confused why it would not be working when I'm doing the same thing as I always do for every other project. Attached is how the file looks in illustrator (and should look) versus how it exports.  Thanks in advance! 

I upgraded to the newest version of Illustrator, 29.0, and now it is unable to open files off my desktop. The files appear to open, AI asks to relink to graphics, and then nothing shows up. I'm running 15.0.1 on a 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro. 

Everytime I zoom or drag the screen it lags, sometimes when selecting items and dragging anchor points, the response time is about 3-10 seconds, it's very annoying. Is there any way to solve this problem? Since my PC build is not bad and I checked the performace when using Ai, the usages of CPU, GPU and RAM are low so I don't think it's cause by hardware limitation.I'm using Illustrator v29.0 and here is my PC spec:CPU: i5-12600KFRAM: 32GB DDR4GPU: RTX 3080 10GBSSD: 1GB
