I have some old graphic illustrations for the 1800's and they use a blend-like series of lines, but the distance between steps decreases as the pt of the line gets smaller.Is there a straightforward way to do this in Illustrator. Like I said, it's blend-like, but I couldn't find an option to makes steps in distance. A nice thing about this technique is that it looks like a gradient by having a solid color underneath and an opaque series of lines simultaneously increasing in density and decreasing in pt size.Thanks!

Show All Swatches do not come. How to fix it? 

Hello, I perhaps foolishly took away the fill and stroke on layers of a project I'm working on, with the intention of going back later and adding fill colors, however when I drag the selection tool across my artboard no paths or anchors are are selected.  I have Show Edges selected.  The weird part is that most of the layers I did this too, the selection tool was able to pick up the paths and I filled them no problem, there's just a few layers that appear blank, but shouldn't be.  Is there any reason my paths would remain invisible or have I just lost my art?  Thank you for any response!

Since licensing issues with Pantone, the swatchbooks have been absent for 2023 and 2024. I backed up my 2022 Pantone library, imported it into 2023 and worked just fine. I come to my computer, found illustrator updated to 2024 without my prompt, and the library is gone. I import my swatch backup library and the library appears, but there are no colors available. It's just blank. I am now reverting to a previous version but this is highly frustrating as I come in to my office and need to do rush work only to have to deal with this. In the world of print and design, the pantone swatch book is essential. I don't care if I have to load a back up, but the back up NEEDS to work.

When using the brush tool in illustrator, every once in a while it glitches out and instead of getting 1 smooth stroke it breaks apart like shown. I'm using an ipad as a tablet and I've cleaned it, put a new screen protector on it and I still get this issue so I don't think it's the ipad. It happens intermittently. Any ideas? 

I can't copy and paste text from Illustrator to After Effects. I have tried one of the most used methods to solve the issue, opening the project from the After Effects panel rather than directly opening the project. It works till I copy 1 text, when I proceed to copy & paste other texts, it doesn't work again. I can't keep opening the project again & again to copy each text. Any NEW METHOD/SOLUTION would be appreciated. It's been a while since I have had this problem.

Creating a band of various grasses and flax. I'm doing it one by one, but I imagine there's a number of quicker ways. Any suggestions? Thanks

I would like to find a solution to how I can select the inner most shape by clicking inside it instead of having to select the line of that shape with the selection tool. Is there a way to do this? 

I am having an issue opening our businesses logo files. I use them in illustrator on the weekly bases and never had an issue. Not sure if there was an update that is now affecting them. this is what it looks like.... It should be just a normal Black outline but for some reason the pig image is showing a box and opposate colors. ...  

For some odd reason, Illustrator has started to crash when I copy and paste guides in the last few days. Nothing comes up in the compatibility report. I have 15.8 GB of RAM and 379 GB of storage available. I removed all the recently installed fonts and extensions and reinstalled Creative Cloud. But I still can't figure out the cause. I've also recreated the event on a blank document in 27 and 26, so I know it's not my working file. If anyone knows the solution or has any suggestions, I'd be more than appreciative. At this point, I'm out of spoons.

Hey guys, so unfortunaly I diasabled the option that this tool bar shows up when I hover over an object. Does anybody know how I can enable this function again? I searched everywhere but cant find it. Thanks for your help

Hi, guys! My Adobe Illustrator, even updated, has this bug where the dialog boxes, settings, edit menu, are closing by themselves. I'm using a win10 PC, everything is up to date. I've completely removed and installed Creative cloud desk and I still can't resolve it. Has anyone ever experienced this? Do you have any ideas or solutions for this error? Thanks PT-br Olá gente! I am trying to create a curve that goes in perspective towards the horizon. Is there any way to do it automatically, manually it comes out with many errors.

I'm on the front page of the AI app, where you can click to load an old project or select "New File"Did they have an update lately where its trying to load every single project or something? It's completely locking up my app and I can't really search or click on anything other than my last project. its still running just very, very slow.   Everything else is working as usual  *slight edit* seems the longer i wait, the more it loads, i see theres one categorize button on the side but anything else?

Hello,I've created some graphics using a perspective grid and I now want to change that grid by redefining the horizon points. However and although I get the mention that text and symbols attached to the plane will be extended nothing really moves, as though they are unattached. The objects definitely become unattached during the change of the grid, because if I then use the perspective selection tool to move them around they are reprojected on the selected planes, instead of just being scalable within the existing plane. Is this Illustrator's normal behaviour?And is therer a way I can change the grid that will automatically change my objects alongside it?

Why can't i chose the color of my gradient in the color picker of the tools bar, just like i do with the fill and stroke color?Why do i need to tell the gradient panel every damn time that my gradient is not black and white. Gradients are almost never black and white. Why don't we have a shortcut for the fill and stroke color picker tool, just like Photoshop? Or maybe a real color picker panel, not that stupid color panel that it have.Why don't we still don't have this?Why is the default tools shortcuts so nothing to do with anything?Why is it so hard to make a simple mask?Why is using the eyedropper not as simple as it should? I'm trying to print a design from illustrator, and I keep getting a subscript "p" in the spaces between words. I don't have these in my original file. What's causing this and how do I remove them?

I pasted it into a .txt file, changed the extension to .jsx, and tried opening it in AI (File>Scripts>Other Script...), but I got an error message that said: Error 1302: No such elementLine: 2->  var aDoc = app.activeDocument; I also tried it as a .js file. I've attached the original .txt file (I think). Any clues as to what's going wrong here?

I am trying to create a shadow effect on the accompanying text and photo.  The text is fine but I can't get the shadow to line up correctly.

Trying to write a script to converts brushstrokes to paths with variable width. But I cannot seem to access the variable width properties of a stroke or path points. Is it possible? 

new actions are not saving.  my illustrator is up to date.   i create new actions and they do not save in illustrator folder.  it will act like it saves but it will not . it will let me save on my desktop and  then copy them into the illustrator folder.  i can then load them and it will be fine...i can use as normal but when illustrator quits or starts over they will erase. also when i make adjustments to existing actions  those changes also also do not save and erase.  i dunno if it has to do with  the fact that they contain scripts.  anyone else having this issue? anyone know of maybe a plugin or a script that we can place all actions in and run them just like plugins/extension that run scripts such as jsx launcher  or script panel? 

Hello.Last time Illustrator worked slowly and crushed time after time.I set up the last update today I was thinking it could be a solution.But shape builder tool stopped work properly now.It slows and hangs Illustrator and crashes.It's awful. I have a lot of projects and I can't work. 😞Can I roll back the update?
