Hello I want to know how to select same (shapes) in illustratorEx: If i draw diiferent stars or any other  same shapes with different stroke and color fill I want to find a method to select these shapes based on the shape itself not stroke and color fill or stroke weight .Any helpThanks

Hi, I was wondering, is there a way we could import a finished label, and have generative fill or firefly help with upgrading and creating a new one with one of those features? Any suggestions?

Adobe Illustrator:  I HATE YOU.  Why do you have to make changes that require us to go through "training" for hours so you can "fix" something that was never broken in the first place?  Stop making the use of your product more difficult and time consuming.  You are turning more people against you than you are gaining.  I am looking for an easy to use program and will discontinue my paid subscription as soon as I do.  YOU SUCK

Hello:) i was trying to find something which will help me to Ungroup everything from selection to be able to add it on Action. I cant use normal ungroup becuase if i use it few times (in case there is more groups in selection) then script is stopping becuase there are no groups. This is very frustrating.  When I save a file as an .svg to be opened in a plotting program (to cut vinyl), ALL files saved from my computer end up jagged, missing pieces, or shapes shifted all around.  When the same file is saved as an .svg from a different computer, there are no issues at all.  We have checked our settings, and everything is exactly the same.  It only happens from my computer.  Screenshot of original .ai file attached, as well as screenshot of how it looks when opened for the plotter.  Also attached is a screen shot of the save settings from both computers, with mine on the left. Both computers are running with separate CC accounts, and all programs are up to date.  Again, this only happens when I save from my computer. What is going on, and how do I fix this?

Hi, recently Adobe Illustrator 27.5 crashed on me while I was working on a project. I went to the DataRecovery folder (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 27 Settings\en_US\x64\DataRecovery) but there was nothing in \x64\. What do I do? It also seemed to have just decided not to save my work to the cloud at all around 2 hours before the crash.

Hi All, when opening multiple illustrator files with large linked images, Illustrator seems to replicate and position (and scaled) images from within the file, sometimes even duplicating existing links. Each link in the file is accompanied by an extra image which Illustrator prompts to be relinked upon opening the file. This has only started occuring after updating Illustrator to 27.4.1. Wondering if any one else has this issue and hoping this bug gets fixed. Thanks

I want to import a Adobe Illustrator file from Freepik. Following setting I did but dowloaded file is not a *.ai. file How to get Illustrator file?        

When trying to identify fonts using the Retype feature, many times the fonts won't load previews. Usually if I don't have a font installed, it gives me the option to download it but at least shows a preview first, but many times all I see are these 3 dots forever. Sometimes it works fine though, it's very inconsistent. Is there any way to fix this?

I am currently having issues with creating custom artboards. Whenever I hover over my grouped logo to create an artbaord around it, it doesn't seem to work.  But if I create the artboard somewhere else, it lets me. Any adivce? 

I have two questions in one post:1 - I was wondering why there is a T-shirt image at the splash screen of Illustrator. Please review the image. I got the Generative Shape Fill (beta) part but why there is a tshirt image next to it? Can we mock up a vector image directly in illustrator or do we still need Photoshop to do this?  2 - ALSO: MY SECOND QUESTION ISI brought a Tshirt Image and created an AI vector image with Generative Shape tool. I tried Mockup Beta by selecting both the tshirt image and vector image I just created. Although the vector image wrapped around the T-shirt well to arm, as shown in the second image I have uploaded here, it does not work well with wrinkled T-shirts. It is not realistic. The wrapping part works fine but I was expecting this to work on wrinkled tshirts more realistic. 

Why isn't shift+alt working to copy and reflect?

Hi guys,I have a problem, I can't save my work in AI format I tried every solution that Adobe recommended but it's still not working I can save it just in eps and author format.I appreciate your help. 

Since the CrowdStrike outage, I've had a blank screen upon opening Illustrator and have been unable to get a dialogue box to open when I click "Save As" or Ctrl+Shift+S, or "New" or Ctrl+N. I uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator, and tried going back to a previous version of Illustrator with no improvement. Has anyone else run into a similar issue and found a fix? Windows 11, Illustrator 28.6.  As far as I can tell, I haven't installed any new fonts recently, and I've only activated fonts from within Adobe. I also tried renaming the UXP folder under Roaming. My current workaround is save as a copy and new artboards.

And I use the "replace all" tool a lot, but today it simply disappeared, I would like to know if it is a setting that I changed.My illustrator is in Portuguese, I tested it in other languages ​​and the problem persisted.In the Archive "Imagem (2).png, It's a print from a friend of mine who has the same version of Illustrator, but it doesn't show the problem.

Hello, when I use magic mouse 2 in illustrator, Its so laggy scrolling. I buy MacBook Pro 16" i9 model. so dissapointed about this. Can't do anything in the illustrator. Please anyone can help me to figure out why is it? Thank You.

Hi, I'd like to access a AI file that a past employee created .  When I click the file to open it, the window says "can't open the illustration. the file is locked or in use ID: - 54"I've tried renaming the file, and duplicating the file on my desktop as advised elsewhere with no success. Any ideas? Could it be to do with the software it was create on? Is there a workaround for that? We need to send this template to the printers next week and I'm struggling to find a solution.  Thanks!

Hello. It's been a couple of days that Illustrator (last version, but have tried going back till 22.1) stopped showing up "save" and "print" window. Which is a big deal, because I've been forced to not use Ai for work.   Now, I've found this but seems not being anymore working with the actual release, since Adobe changed directory.How I should solve this? I am on the last rls of macOS and using a 2018 Macbook Pro.Thanks. 🍪   {Renamed by MOD}

After the last update, the context toolbar has stopped appearing when working with vector objects. The toolbar only appears when working with text and raster objects. In the 'Window' menu, the context toolbar is enabled. Can you please advise what to do?

I dont know if I am doing something wrong, I would be grateful for any advice.Im creating buttons for the web, the artboard frame is 202x62px, slightly larger than the yellow rectangle itself that is 200x60px. As you can see below, the yellow rectangle fits comfortably inside the artboard frame:When wanting to save for web (legacy) this happens :It oddly offsets itself leaving no transparent border on the bottom, here is a zoom up:I dont understand why. Would you happen to know why?Kind RegardsS.

When a link is missing in inDesign, you can at least copy the name to paste into your computer's search bar. In Illustrator you have to manually type it in!  FROM MEMORY.  It's a staggeringly manual process that I can't believe hasn't been fixed. If there's 20 links it can take ages to sort out. A simple solution would be 'search for link' I've even designed an icon for you: Which opens the finder window with the search bar already filled in.  Couldn't be simpler!  All that anyone with a missing link does is type in the name into that search bar - but if there's a spelling mistake or a massively long name it can be a real pain in the neck.   

I have been making this quite complicated image of Brighton Pavilion.....I have been working on it for hours.This moning it suddely went oulines. I saved the image, switche Illustrator off, left it foir a bit, but when I opened it up again and clicked preview I just got the last ratyer pathetic almost white image......HELP PLEASE.I have used Illustrator foir years but have never had this problem before.....any thoughts?

Hey all, I hope you can help me with this: I'm looking for a possibility to measure paths In Illustrator. What I want to do exactly is to measure the lenght of individual letters or words. How can I do this? I suppose I will have to manipulate the letters so that they're displayed in single paths through the middle line of the letters, not outlines. How would I do that? And how can I measure the paths then? Thank you in advance for your help!
