Questions

Hi everyone, I have created a document for some large-ish packaging (735mm x 530mm) in Adobe Illustrator. I have 3 layers: Markup, dieline & artwork. I am ready to save as a PDF for the printer, and so I follow my normal procedure of outlining all text, embedding images and saving as PDF using my custom settings. When I open the PDF in Acrobat the dieline and markup layers are suddenly empty. I have tried a few different exports and can confirm that the issue only presents after I embed the images. If i save the PDF before embedding the images, then it saves thecontent in the dieline and markup layers properly. Outling the text doesnt affect it. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening, or even better how to fix this?cheers,Rachel.

I've traced over some text using the Pen tool but want to make the lines 'scratchy' like the original text, i.e. not uniform. I tried changing the Brush Definition to 'Charcoal Feather' but that dropped a lot of detail.Any ideas? 

I created a PDF in Adobe Illustrator with a ppi of 300. When I submit it to AdShuttle, they reject it because they say the ppi is below 250. I go back to the pdf in Illustrator and it is 300 ppi. Pls help!

When I drop a TIFF file into illustrator and then move it around or zoom out or drag something across the page over it, it will turn into lines making it very difficult to work. Anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix? This seems like a glitch in the program, never had this issue before.

I am running into a bit of frustration with the Repeat > Grid command.I wanted to experiment with rectangle shapes but it seems it's only working with "regular" / 'proportional" kinds of shapes like "Squares" and "Circles"? Here is a screen capture of three kinds of shapes obtained through the Repeat > Grid command. As you can see, the "Squares" and "Circles" behave as expected but the "Oval" at the bottom is not being "honored" by the command? All I get is a kind of "Step and Repeat":Is it possible that it only honors what are considered as "Shapes"?

Folks, Have you figured out a way to prevent properties panel from automatically opening when adding text to a drawing within illustrator for iPad?  I don't believe that panel automatically opens when other tools are used -- you have to click on the properties icon.  When working with text, I find I'm constantly closing the automatically-opened panel so that I can see more of my drawing. Any input would be appreciated. Dave

Update to latest versions Illustrator stops at 88%. I've tried several times but at 88% the update stops and it gives a blue popup with the text "progress is slower than normal. We are working on a solution to this problem"......anyone?

First of all the bullet points in Illustrator are so poorly implemented that they make my eyes itch.But today's problem involves what happened when text boxes that are using bullet points when converted to outlines, they vanish. That's right when converting text that is using bullet points to outlines the bullet points disappear. However, when using "Flatten Transparency" they remain.I hope there is a fix in the works because this is disrupting my workflow. Thanks,

Illustrator newbie here.I want to create this effect but can't figure out how to do it. It's like a shape fill outlining the text.I'm sure it is very simple to do, but when a newbie nothing is simple!Thanks

The scale corners controls are hidden in properties panel under the ... three dot button. I wish it was possible to set it so its always visible. as it currently disappears 

Every Adobe App should have an automatic screen recording feature so you can export a timlapse of your work to show all the creative process. I'm running Illustrator 27.4.1 on a Windows 10 laptop using a secondary 4K monitor. Whenever I open Illustrator, the default window size maxes out to approximately 3x the resolution of my 4K screen. This forces me to have to re-size the main window (and supporting windows, like "Export as..." to make my workspace manageable. I have trashed preferences to no avail. Any way to fix this?

Always counted on Save for Web in Illustrator. Now it appears to have been removed. What are our other options now?Running a Macbook Pro with latest OS and 16GB RAM.Thanks.

Cuando hago patrones / motivos se ve rayita en límite de éste. Que no debería verse pero se ve. Cuando se exporta a PDF se ve aún más la falla y cuando se imprime también.¿Cómo se quita esa raya sin tener que expandir el motivo e ir a quitar dicho elemento?

I have not been able to find any help on this confusing problem. I've been working on this file for a while and suddenly parts of my shapes that have no fill color a registering as filled with black, even though it shows that it has no fill, just the outline I have it set to. When I create a new object like a rectangle it is doing the same thing, outline black, no fill color, but the whole shape is black. What is going on and how can I fix this? I need to print off this shapes but the preview is showing black. Something else I noticed that was strange, was when I put a different object behind the object appearing as black it now looks white instead.  

Hey folks, just updated my illustrator but now my "Transform" pannel don't show anything. Even with an object, text or image selected, it keeps blank.  

in the video I wrote "Lemon" with my pen, as you can see the brush is lagging but the funny thing happen when I move the artboard (showed in the video).however drawing with mouse is working fine, I've tried my pen on photoshop and it works well so my pen is not broken.-it happen with brush tool, pencil tool, blob brush tool.-Evertyhing is up to date-illustrator version 25.0(64 bit)-CPU and GPU preview did nothing-I've closed the info panel (i've searched and some said to close this panel)-My laptop is Windows 10, 12gb, i3 and Nvidia Geforce

I have two sets here with different names except for the one in the name table. Why is there only one set that can be correctly recognized as a Chinese font by Illustrator. The attachment includes two sets of fonts and their parsing documents。The font with file name HYFangSongJ CAN CN Name.otf can be automatically recognized as a Chinese font name(汉仪仿宋简) by Illustrator, but the font with file name HYFangSongJ CANNOT CN Name.otf cannot be recognized as a Chinese font name(汉仪仿宋) by Illustrator and can be searched for by its English name(HYFangSong)What are the font requirements for displaying Chinese names in Illustrator? 

Hallo zusammen Ich habe eine völlig verhunzte Illustrator Datei. Keine Ahnung, wie ich das geschafft habe. Ich muss für das Geschäft sehr viele verschiedene Figuren illustrieren. Da es diesselben Figuren in anderen Kostümen sind, wurde die gleiche Datei mit vielen (80) Zeichenflächen genutzt (nach Jahre sortiert).Jetzt wollte ich mal überprüfen, wie es mit den Farben aussieht, ob alle Volltonfarben für den Druck haben etc. pp, angefangen bei der ersten erstellen Vektorfigur.Aber: oh schreck! Ich habe pro Figur gefühlt 30 Farben, welche alle angeblich vorhanden sein sollten. Dazu zählen rot in 15 unterschiedlichen Farben, Grau in 10 unterschiedlichen Farben und so weiter... joa. Hmmmm. Ich schätze mal, dass ich (vor allem während der Lehrzeit) vieles mit Farbprofilen verschlimmert habe und der Mischung/Kopiererei von CMYK/RGB Figuren. Ich habe ja nicht bewusst 15 Rottöne verwendet.  Ich wollte ein Script nutzen (mit ChatGPT halt, da ich mich mit scripten nicht auskenne) und wollte

So when i create a new document it's mostly off the page, toolbars off the page.Tried changing Wordspaces, no luck.   'Float in Windows' will at least get my document to center on screen... but Application Frame (and toolbars) still display way off screen.   Pressing 'F' for fullscreen works - but as soon as i go  out of fullscreen it goes back offscreen.  Sometimes turning off Application Frame make everything work fine (ie. toolbars all become visible)This happens on my MacBook Pro (rentina 2014) Running El Capitan (10.11.6)This has only started happening since upgrading to 2017 version of illustrator.
