Hello! I’ve got this issue where my illustrator app (up to date) freezes for a few moments any time i specifically use the alt + zoom function. If i press Z and then drag left or right, the zoom is perfectly smooth, but for some reason the alt zoom just completely freezes up my illustrator for like 5 seconds at a time. I’ve got a 4080 super graphics card that i have toggled on and off in GPU performance, GPU view, turned animated zoom on and off, and even set illustrator as a high performance application in the nvidia control panel, as well as uninstalled and reinstalled the application. Would love to know if anyone else has had this issue! Ultimately i can do without it i guess, but i’ve been using this zoom reflexively for an absurd amount of time, maybe 7 years at this point, and for some reason on this machine i’m currently working on its messed up. Thanks!
Hi,I was just wondering how to open the .aid recovery files created by illustrator when data recovery is setup.Thanks.
When I open my PDF in illustrator it appears like the boxes. how can i solve this?
Hi, before last 2025 CC apps updates, i used to add pantone colors to illustrator and indesign with pantone connect plug in. But now, the "add color to app swatch" is missing, i don't know why. So my question is, how can i import Pantone TPG colors to illustrator ? Other swatches can be added with old illustrator versions, but not TPG swatches.Cheers :x
Illustrator crashes every single time I try to export a PDF. I have deadlines and very important work that are at risk of not being delivered thanks to this. Supposedly the best software in the world and this happens?? I have a Mac Book Pro with IOS Tahoe 6.4.1 (25E253), bought 5 months ago, with a Pro Adobe license. There is no plausible excuse for this to happen. I need help ASAP
MacOS Tahoe 26.3.1Macbook Pro M1, 16/1TBNew document, save = error «This file cannot be found».To keep my new work I have to open another existing file and copy and paste all my work over to that file.Totally heinous, Bill and Ted!
I was working on a project in Illustrator a few hours ago, had gone out of the window for a second and when I entered the app again (literally seconds later) everything was gone. I updated Illustrator. I tried searching in my Mac Finder for Illustrator Cache and there are no files for it at all. After updating, it showed some of my previous projects, but not the one that I’ve been working on. It shows in the thumbnail all my artboards for that project, but it only opens one of the files I had previously downloaded on my Mac. I have tied ten times to connect to Adobe Support and after ten minutes of waiting for the chatbot to connect me, it just closes the window and asks me to rate the conversation (that I never had!!!) I’m incredibly frustrated. I’m a wedding invitation designer and I’ve been working on this suite for two weeks! Everything had been saved in Creative Cloud but now I can’t even get it to pull up on there. Surely all of this is SOMEWHERE?!?! Please help :(
I’m creating a laser cut PVC jig for woodworking that needs a very high degree of accuracy. I have a shape which is essentially a rectangle (with rounded corners) with the two vertical sides angled in by around 0.80 degrees. I now need to continue those lines slightly further (maintaining the angle) without messing the other parameters or position up. I can’t figure out how best to do this…! Any thoughts appreciated - thanks.
...it only renders 1/10th of the dpi set. And since rasterize() caps at 2400dpi, only 240dpi is possible.Any neat ideas or work-arounds other than scaling the document 10x before rasterizing?
Open Illustrator, select Create New, new box pops up with print, web, mobile, etc. preset options - when I select the "print" option, the units are in points, how can I save this preset to display in inches? Selecting inches in "general" preferences does not fix this.
This only started happening recently and I'm not sure what to do to fix it. Whenever I export a file using the "Export as..." feature, I'll navigate to the location where it was previously exported and click the "Export" button. I used to get an overwrite notification asking if I wished to do so and I'd just click yes or no. Now, for some reason, that notification isn't triggering and Adobe Illustrator is just overwriting. I tried using Windows Explorer to copy and paste a file to the same location, and Windows "does" give the standard notification to confirm overwrite. It's only when I'm using Illustrator, that it's skipping that step.A co-worker of mine is using the same version of AI and doesn't have this problem so I'm wondering if there's a setting somewhere that I inadvertently turned on that's causing it to act this way. Please help. *edit* - I've determined that this only happens when I have "Use Artboards" checked off in the export dialog box.
I would like to create a shortcut on the keyboard as Ctrl+L to execute a script file on the illustrator how can I do this?
Cuando agrupo elementos "desaparecen" de la visual pero siguen ahí aunque no se vean. Tengo que dar a previsualización cada vez.
Not sure how widespread this issue is, but I’ve been experiencing it for over a year since an update.Example: I have a group with many path layers. I move the group using the Selection Tool, then hit Cmd+Z to undo. Some paths move back, but others don’t. After that, undo and redo no longer fix it, since Illustrator treats the broken state as the latest version. At that point, I’m stuck manually repositioning objects, which can be tedious or sometimes impossible. It happens about 7-8 times a month, so not very frequent, but it can bring steady progress to a screeching halt and be very frustrating. Anyone else experience this issue?
Dear Adobe Support Team,I am reaching out to report an issue with Adobe Illustrator (version 29.5) regarding the inability to read variable data from a DataSet object in a script, even though the dataset is correctly loaded and updates the document content as expected.Problem DescriptionI have a script that processes a CSV file to generate PDF files using variable data in Illustrator. The CSV file contains columns "Cislo" (number) and "JMENO" (name), and it is correctly loaded into Illustrator as a dataset (via Window > Utilities > Variables > Load Variable Library). The dataset updates the document content correctly—when I call dataSets[i].display(), the text fields in the document update with the correct values (e.g., "1", "URBAN" for the first dataset). However, when I attempt to read the variable values programmatically from the DataSet object (e.g., via dataSets[i].variables[j].content), the script fails to retrieve any values, resulting in empty strings.Steps We TriedWe
Some Illustrator templates I find on Adobe Stock are 323.375 x 181.989 mm (approx 916 x 515 pts). What paper size corresponds to or is close to these page dimensions?Without this information, I can't figure out how to produce a paper document (unless I heavily modify the template).
Is there any way to input an angle for the radial repeat? I can't adjust the angle with the mouse because it doesn't snap to perfect angles like 30 or 60.
Latest version is 29.8.6. How long will this version (29) of the LTS be supported and what is the expected update timeline? Is there a place you can find release notes for the LTS version? I can only find them for the latest version (30.3) Where to report bugs in the LTS version?
Ive just updated to newest version of illustrator, and i rely heavily on seeing what the exact dimensions of an object i’m working with is.The items in the transform tab used to just show on the bar without a window. How can i get this to show like it used to? The window itself takes up a lot of space on my UI.
While I appreciate that we are in a long term relationship, and you have been very supportive after my messy break up with Aldus Freehand, I don’t appreciate you trying to get access to other applications in my Mac. I would like to be able to keep a little bit of privacy. I’m sure you can understand this. Your truly, Long Time user
Hi everyone,I’ve recently started a new role that involves graphic design, mainly using Illustrator and occasionally Photoshop. I’ve been somewhat thrown in at the deep end, and these are the only tools I currently have access to (alongside Canva, which I’d prefer not to rely on), so I’m keen to build a solid foundation and improve properly.I’ve been practicing in my spare time and understand the very basics, but I’m finding it difficult to progress in a structured way. There’s so much content out there—especially on YouTube—that it’s hard to know where to focus. I often start a tutorial, only to get stuck when something unfamiliar comes up, which then leads me down another rabbit hole before I can return to the original video.I’ve also noticed that many tutorials lack clear explanations or voiceovers, which makes them difficult to follow as a beginner, as I don’t always understand the reasoning behind each step or how to apply what I’ve learned on my own afterward.I’d really appreciat
Hi Everybody, I’ve got an Illustrator file with a placed image in it. The image is very large but it’s not part of the actual artwork. It’s just a guide I’m drawing over the top of. When you save the file it takes ages. I guess because of the size of the placed image and that’s a bit annoying. Is there a way to place an image that you have in the same folder without the Illustrator file actually saving all the data contained in the image file? Another way of achieving the same thing is just removing the placed image when I save the file and then bringing it back in again when I next want to draw over it but I just wondered if that was necessary? Thanks for your help,Gareth
When placing an image at 100% the Links Info panel is reporting that the link is at 24% scale when it should be showing as 100%. Its not effecting the physical scale of the link but it is showing the incorrect values. How to fix? Seems to be a problem since 2025 update.
