I want to have a paper list of all key board short cuts and tools short cuts. so I can learn them away from my computer.
Hello fellow creatives!I’ve used Vimeo so far to upload a video there, and then I’d embed it in my Behance projects. It worked pretty good so far. However, Vimeo has recently started requesting ID verification and they won’t let me even log into my account without completing it. Since I don’t want to hand over my ID (we all know how many data breaches happen every year), I wanted to ask if there’s a free alternative for Vimeo?Basically all I need to do is to upload a video there and play it in my Behance projects. My videos are usually motion graphics (10-60 seconds long).Thank you!
Hello everyone, I use the CC library frequently, but it's really frustrating that white graphics and logos appear as white backgrounds in the preview. Even though the graphics and logos have a transparent background, they appear as solid white backgrounds instead of the grayscale separation they used to have. This is why I'm having a hard time finding what I'm looking for. I've seen threads about this, but most of them are from a few years ago, and I've read someone on the Adobe team will address this issue. However, the problem persists. How can I fix this?
Constant crashing and exceptionally slow saves (apparently I should off PDF preview, but that was not an issue in previous versions) on a Mac in Illustrator 26.A support agent deleted all my preferences and reinstalled illustrator, but issue continued. Installed latest MacOS (26.3.1) but slow saves continue. It’s been saving the entire time I’ve been writing this post.
Another day, another Illustrator surprise!Editing production vector art, copying that art into another AI file, vector object will not center to artboard, instead, moves in a direction by what looks like smaller and smaller increments. Vertical center moves to the top of the artboard (only one artboard in the newly-created file) and proceeds to move incrementally each time center is clicked. It’s one vector object, not grouped, not a compund path.Is it the file? No. More than one file exhibits this behaviour, and they’re known-good files. When did this start? Last update, looks like. Can I make a video of the problem? No - read the words, that’s what word are for. Does Safe Mode eliminate the problem? No. Does uninstalling and re-installing solve the problem? No. What version? Version 30.3. What OS? Windows 11 Are the video drivers updated? Yes. Does this problem recurr on a different OS? Oh, I have to have multiple platforms to run Illustrator? Good to know. Hold on, let me go out and
I just installed Illustrator on a fresh Windows 11 setup. All my drivers are up to date. Despite having an RTX 4060 Ti (16GB VRAM) and 64GB RAM, the performance is abysmal. Even on a blank A4 document, the screen freezes every second while scrolling. It's a clean install with no custom fonts or heavy background apps running. If I'm experiencing these issues on a system like this, what kind of setup am I even supposed to have? Furthermore, Adobe Illustrator correctly recognizes my graphics card in the performance settings, yet the lag persists. The software is performing like garbage on a rig that should easily handle it.
Updated to 2026 version, now when I go to open a file or go to ‘Your Files’ on the main open screen the files are sorted by Date Modified. When I change it to sort by name it doesn’t remember this the next time I open illustrator. It is VERY frustrating, as I name my folders with numbers so they are in a particular order and it’s in a completely random order every time I open it. This is also the case with Photoshop. How do I make it remember my preference?
First all of my type elements went somehow corrupt so that I was not able to edit them with type tool. I was able to move them around but not edit with type tool. Not even able to paint them with a type cursor.Luckily I was able to create new type elements that were still working properly. But now when I try to copy some of those elements all of a sudden illustrator just removes the copied items. So I need to ask: What the hell is going on? And how can I fix that crazy software?
Illustrator 28.7.1 does not show the correct information for the Created and Modified fields.Running Mac OS Sonoma 14.7 on a Mac Studio 2022 with an Apple M1 Max chip. All links show Feb. 6, 2040 date, even though the actual linked files are correct.
I have a file that was handed to me. It is a drawing of a power pylon made with a bunch of strokes of varying thickness. There is no fill just a bunch of parallel strokes. I would like to “outline” the silhouette made by all these strokes with a path for laser cutting. Pathfinder/unite did not work. What is the best way to accomplish this?
Once again, an update breaks something. In this case, it was broken several updates ago. Every time I open a file to work on, I have to relink all the graphics. It doesn’t matter if it’s one or 30 linked images. It doesn’t matter that I already linked them when I worked on them previously. Using the cleaner tool did not fix the problem, nor did deleting everything Illustrator-related and reinstalling. I’m on a Nov 2024 MacBook Pro running 26.4. I know I’m wasting my time writing about it here because the advice I’ve been given in the past has been completely useless. I’m just venting once again about what an utter disaster the application that my career is, unfortunately, based on has become.
Hi everyone. I've been having a problem for a few versions of Illustrator. I didn't have this problem before. After linking a PSD file and selecting the option in the settings (FILE HANDLING > UPDATE LINKS - AUTOMATICALLY), Illustrator doesn't update the links; it only does this once every few times.I've checked it on two computers now - the problem occurs on version 29.7.1 and UP and not on version 29.0.1 and below - on this version on the same computers work perfectly.Does anyone have a solution? My computer is Mac Studio M4, system is Tahoe 26.3.1
I'm having the same issue here. CPU view as a workaround still isn't very responsive when zooming in using alt+scroll but at least scrolling works. Using GPU, both scrolling and zooming (using alt+scroll) are freezing. Stragely enough, temporarily changing to the move tool (press and holde spacebar) or the zoom tool (ctrl+ spacebar) don't have this issue at all. But that's also not a solution, just a workaround that doesn't explain the behaviour behind the lag using the scrollwheel OS: Windows 11 CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D RAM: 63032 MB GPU-Information:Illustrator Version: 30.0OpenGL Version: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 581.57 Number of Displays: 3Number of Drivers: 2Vendor: NVIDIA CorporationRenderer: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti/PCIe/SSE2
I'm experiencing strange spikes and small loops in my vector paths while drawing in Illustrator. The paths suddenly create sharp angles or little loops that shouldn’t be there. Please see the attached screenshot and video. The problem only occurs when I use pressure-sensitive brushes — brushes with uniform thickness work fine.I’m using the latest version of Illustrator (though I had this problem even before updating) and an Artist 12 Pro XP-Pen tablet (Windows Ink is deactivated).I’ve tried different versions of Illustrator and installed the latest tablet drivers, but I’m running out of ideas. I hope someone can help me! 🙂
Hi everyone. I've been having a problem for a few versions of Illustrator. I didn't have this problem before. After linking a PSD file and selecting the option in the settings (FILE HANDLING > UPDATE LINKS - AUTOMATICALLY), Illustrator doesn't update the links; it only does this once every three times.I am sending a video recording in the attachment, where on the left is the Illustrator file and on the right the PSD file, after changing the location of the red square and saving it in Photoshop, Illustrator does not always update it.Does anyone have a solution? My computer is Mac Studio M4, system is Sequoia 15.5.
Open Adobe Firefly Generate a vector image using any prompt Right-click on the generated image and attempt to open it in Adobe IllustratorIssue:The file does not open in Adobe Illustrator, and nothing is displayed.
I got this file from a tutorial. Is it possible to turn this image into glass like? that means transparent image. File is attached as well.MW-Shapes-3D - Copy
Hi, how can I draw a line like this, slanted? Can someone please show me? I'm uploading the image to a site so you can see it; I think this is how it's shown here. I apologize if I'm breaking the rules. I'm talking about the slanted line below the image, above the text "protein cake".
I am trying to make a simply perspective cube in Adobe Illustrator. I know there is a way to make it with the perspective grid, but I would prefer to make it using two offset squares. With the offset squares, I am trying to connect each respective corner using the pen tool. When I do this it creates an unclean corner. I have checked, and my smart guides and snap to pixel are both on, and both anchor points line up perfectly. How do I fix these corners?
I previously asked this question when I was using the mirror tool and last time by expanding my objects after the mirror tool was used, it allowed the mirror to be released. This time it still keeps the left and right side as two separate objects. I can't use the live paint tool as a result. Any reason this is happening? expand appearance is always grayed out (not sure why as this worked the first time) so I just used expand.

Im trying to expand the drawing area in Illustrator CS5, an I cant how can I do this?
I’m brand new to scripting in Illustrator, I’m using VS Code and things are, sometimes, working . . . sort of.I’m working from PDFs created from Word and have the script checking the font applied to the text frames, and if italic is in the name apply our italic font, if not apply our regular font. Seemed pretty straight forward.But I was getting this error: an Illustrator error occurred: 1346458189 ('PARM')On this line of code: txtFnt = tf.textRange.characterAttributes.textFont;I began debugging and commenting out various lines. Eventually I had everything uncommented again with no changes to the actual code and it worked exactly as expected! No changes to the code and it stopped working again at the same spot.I’ve seen a few posts with no resolution referring to this error.Full script is at the bottom.Does anyone have any hits as to WTF is happening?Thank you,Ken //#target illustrator function cleaupDoc() { if (app.documents.length > 0) { var doc = app.activeDocument;
I have a paragraph of text in a captive text block and I want to align that paragraph to the bottom of the block. When I select this option, the text should be aligned to the bottom of the block, but it isn’t. It seems to align to the bottom and then immediately jump back to the top of the block. When I use this feature in an older version of Illustrator, I don’t have this problem. If I save the file in that older version and open it in the latest version (2026), and then edit the text, the text jumps back to the top of the block even though the ‘bottom’ option is selected.Has anyone else had this problem?I’ve attached a screenshot, as I’m using the French version of Illustrator and I don’t know what this window is called in the English versionThanks a lot for your help
