Questions

It appears that importing or opening any SVG file that has a clip path in it (even ones made in Illustrator) produces the error "Clipping will be lost on roundtrip to Tiny". While there are workarounds and solutions given in other threads, I am curious about what the error actually means - I understand the "Clipping will be lost" bit, but have no clue what "on roundtrip to Tiny" means! If anyone can shed any light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Tengo un plan de Lr y Ps con 20g de almacenamiento en la nube. Trabajo en IPad para editar mis fotografías. Borre por error las que estaba trabajando (tengo las originales pero no quiero perder el trabajo de edición que hice en esas fotos). Necesito recuperarlas pero no me deja restaurarlas ya que me dice que no tengo espacio en la nube y que mejore mi plan, lo cual me extraña un poco ya que solo tengo 15 fotografías importadas y el resto en la carpeta eliminadas que borre por error, son unas 1200 fotos jpg que necesito recuperar. Cuando intento recuperarlas me dice que necesita 7g aproximadamente, o sea que esas fotos tienen ese tamaño, más las 15 en jpg que no pesan tanto, como máximo tendré ocupado en Lr unos 8g, no sé porque me dice que la nube está llena. Intente entrar a Lr en la web y lo mismo, hay pocos archivos. Descargue el Lr downloader y tengo 8g más o menos ocupados, la pregunta es que está ocupando el el resto de espacio? Lo necesito para recuperar el trabajo que he hecho

I am trying to export multiple artboards for screen to jpg or png. Things that I have some quality but jpg results are veeeery weird. Like distorted pixels or something. Export Worked totally fine. Not sure what happened. Another classic adobe frustration that kills my productive day.  Tried in latest Ai 2025 + 2026. Illustrator crashes and disappears as soon as I run my cursor over the welcome screen. It also crashes when try to directly open an .ai file.I’ve tried everything I possibly could find: reset the preferences with shift+option+command, clean re-install, safe mode, trashing preferences folder, looking for CCX Welcome files (there were none). I have NO Wacom files on my Mac. I have run diagnostics, allowed/not allowed it to access other apps data… etc etc etcI’m running OS 15.7.4 (24G517) but it also use to happen in previous OS.I lie, you can get it to open eventually and allow you to click the blue “New file” button…. but it can often take in advance of 30 attempts to achieve this.This has gone on for about a year - often when I finally get it to stay open I’ll often not close it for days on end just to keep it usable. WHAT IS IT I HAVE MISSED?Any help would be VERY gratefully received.It may help to include a recent crash report here?:Thank you :-(

Hello,Somehow the dark gray background (the big canvas which contains the artboards) turned white.I don't know how to switch it back... I tried changing the preview settings (Pixel & Overprint) and the preferences menu, "show artboards", GPU preview and CPU but it didn't worked.How can I fix it?Thank you{Renamed by MOD}

I made a rectangle and tried to select, Copy and paste- it wont work.  It lets me select but when I hit Ctrl -the selection tool changes to "direct selection" and shows a little curved line.  Then it wont let me Ctrl C-Ctrl V.  I also tried to just select and go to the edit menu and copy and that will not work either.I used the pen tool to make a shape and see if I could copy that and its doing the same thing...so I think its some issue with the selection tool.I dont know if I accidentally changed a setting or how I can fix this, but its very frustrating.  Please help!!  Thanks!

Recently, I’ve had a problem where I can’t change an object or stroke’s colors. When I open the swatches and select a new color, it highlights the new swatch while my mouse clicker is depressed, then immediately hops back to the old one. The color change is reflected in the “color picker” box on the sidebar, but not in the Fill/Stroke swatches panel  in the top toolbar. The object does not change colors.I created a new file and tried it there and had the same problem. I checked the appearance panel and determined that I didn’t have any additional fills or strokes in place.I updated AI to 30.1 (or whatever the most recent edition is). The problem resolved itself briefly, but started again after about half an hour of work. I tried switching the document color mode to RGB and back.Please help! Video documentation attached.

This is happening in illustrator 2024 and 2025 for me.  Everytime I go to create a new document I will get all of the settings set up and then once I start typing the name of the document all of the settings are reverted back to whatever the inital settings were when I went to create a new document. This frustrating because I won't realize it happens until I've created the document and then I'll have to either resize it or create a new one.

My computer is offline environment and can not access internet directly, and it install illustrator cc app ,but it need renew license each 90 days. Is there tool or setting which can find How many days are left before software licensing is required?Thanks

Suddenly no matter what I do, the paper width for any 8.5x11 inch document is 9 inches when I open the Print window. Even older files that I created and that were working correctly a year or more ago have this problem when I open them now. I am on Mac OS Tahoe 26.0.1, Illustrator 2026, on an Apple M4 Pro.  I can open a new blank letter-size document (artboard 8.5x11 inches), and when I open the Print window, it has a paper width of 9 inches. It remains 9 inches no matter which printer I choose. If I save it as a PDF and open it in Acrobat Pro, it shows that the width of the document is 8.5 inches, but if I print it, it behaves as is my document is 9 inches wide printing on 8.5 inch paper width, so it cuts off the left and right edges of my image. Screenshot of print window is attached. I've tried all the suggestions in this forum and in results of a Google search. I’ve been having issues with UI scaling on my 24" iMac (2021, M1). I can’t seem to find an in-between size that works for me. I recently reinstalled all my Adobe apps after resetting my computer, and now I can’t get the UI back to how I had it before.I know Adobe adjusts scaling based on screen resolution, so I tried switching from the default to other available options, but even after going back to the default, it still doesn’t look right. At 2560×1440, I get more scaling options, but none of them match the in-between size I’m looking for.I also tried using apps like BetterDisplay, but no luck so far. I believe installing macOS 26.3 beta 3 (25D5112c) was when the problem started. That problem is that Sidebar icons for all external drives are now that of the Creative Cloud application. Icons on the drive in the Finder itself are normal; it is only those in the Sidebar which have the incorrect icon. Using Illustrator 30.2.1 on Mac Studio M2 Ultra (128gb ram) OS Tahoe 26.3 using Wacom Tablet (Intuos 4 Medium PTK-640)Newly updated - on opening a new file and selecting a Brush and drawing a continuous line it stops registering despite not lifting the pen from tablet after what feels like a fairly short time (I’ve certainly drawn much longer lines in the past have been using Adobe Illustrator as a freelancer for 20+years) The length does change a little depending on how fast I draw / which brush I choose but not significantly.  switching between ‘view using gpu’ or ‘..cpu’ makes little difference. Any help welcome. Thanks! Short Screen capture and a few screengrabs of my settings attached

I used to use this script ALL the time but now a forced OS and Adobe update mean it no longer works and as it’s a work computer I cannot downgrade OS etc. I have 100s of SVGs and EPS assets (how they are supplied to me) that I need in one illustrator file so we can make all colours consistent and just generally use the files in our workflow. I would like the artboards to have the name (but not the extension) of the source file being placed.This used to take minutes with AI Merge but I cannot see a way to do it now. I can bring all the images in but pretty much have to manually rename all the artboards. I know about batch renaming but this is still very slow.I have searched but keep getting AI “help” that is generating absolute rubbish code and does not do the job. Anyone out there got a fix or suggestion? I must be missing something, surely it’s not harder to do now? 

Hi everyone,I’m experiencing a visual glitch in Illustrator and hope someone can help.I converted the contents of a top-level layer into a symbol definition. The definition is placed completely outside of any artboard. You can see it in the video.When I hover over the symbol, the object highlight (the outline matching the layer color) appears as a "ghost outline" that is significantly offset from the actual object(s). This misalignment specifically happens and shifts around when I rotate the symbol.Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?Illustrator 30.21 (MacOS 26.0.1 on MacBook Pro 14-inch, 2023)

I’m thinking in 3D and creating too many layers.  I’m missing something fundamental in how Illustrator works, but I don’t know what so I can’t work out what tutorials might help. 

Hi,Is there a way to cut a shape into another shape e.g. circle but keep the gradient as on the example on the left rather than having Illustrator re-applying the gradient into each part of the resulting new shape? Can the gradient despite the new cut-out shape still be continuous as it is on the left? I’ve tried applying a clipping mask with a larger shape with the continuous gradient etc. but nothing has worked. The result turns withe.Thanks.

In Illustrator on Mac, I’ve organized some documents into Projects in Cloud storage.However, on iPad, I can’t see these ProjectsSame issue seems to exist in Photoshop on iPadAm I overlooking something?  or is this not implemented yet?

I want to disable the automatic opening of panels so that they do not interfere with the view, but this option does not work, and after restarting Tlustator automatically turns on again without my permission. I thought that all the settings were not saved, but no, I configured a lot of other things, and everything was saved. But the panel settings do not care. How can I prevent panels from opening?And one more thing, maybe this is the reason. Every time I start the program «««««Adobe Illustrator 2026.app» wants to access data from other programs. If you keep the data of the programs separately, it is easier to manage privacy and security. ≥≥≥≥≥≥≥ It does not matter whether I allow or deny, but still, the next time I start, it asks the same thing again. Reinstalling Illustrator did not help.

I have a series of elements of different sizes and shapes that I need aligned by the top-left edge of their bounds box. But I need the top-left edges to be aligned with the center of the workspace.Currently: Make selectionAlign Center (to Workspace)Align Middle (to Workspace)(aligns all elements to the center of the workspace)Write down the width and height of the top-left most elementAlign Top (by selection)Align Left (by selection)(aligns all elements by the top-left edge of the top-left element)Transform by ½ the recorded width on xTransform by ½ the recorded height on y This is a lot of steps for a relatively simple alignment. Surely there’s a better way? Also, how do you align Element A’s top left corner to Element B’s bottom right corner?Currently,Select Element A, Element BDistribute space Horizontal 0pxDistribute space Vertical :0px I struggle with this every time. Is there an easier way?

How would you recreate this awesome graphic/pattern in adobe illustrator?  

I just got the brand new mac book pro and reinstalled illustrator and it is running so slow.  Anyone else have this problem of just the app running slow and how to resolve?  I can't find any reason for it to be this slow.   I saw someone else saying something about the Magnet app, but I don't have that on my computer. I recently spent some time working on a file and when I went to go look at recently added fonts, the whole application crashed. However when reopening the file, I clicked “OKAY” when opening my recovery file but it opened the old file, never offered the recovery file and no recovery file can be found at all within the windows folder. Is there anything I can do? I looked at every version of adobe illustration and followed all the instructions.
