Hey all!  I have been working with Illustrator for quite a while but ran into an issue that has me stumped and I am hoping someone here can help me out.  I am looking for a direct fix to my method if there is one, or any way to mimic the effect to get the desired result. So, the issue is with this effect I used on a portion of our company logo.  The way I went about creating the effect was as pictured below.  As all of our product packages are white I didn't think this far ahead and went about creating the effect as follows... used smaller rectangles with drop shadow applied and then use slightly larger white rectangles to cover the left hand side of each to get the desired effect of our logo is sliding under portions of our packaging. Now, I have the following issue.  We have grown and would like to release some mech in the form of tshirts... 'of various colors,' and therein lies the problem. If we just print the logo on say a blue shirt...

Добрий день. Виникає проблема у користуванні продуктосм. Сама програма запускається але коли натискаю створити файл-далі файл завантажується - відкривається створення файлу і візуально все добре, але натиснути нікуди неможливо при натисканні нічого не відбуваєтьчя. Пробувала оновлювати продукт і завантажувати старі версії, чат-бот підтримки надійслав пораду , видалити програму і завантажити знов при цьому на деякий ча свідключити антивірус і брендмауер -  не допомгло. Робила вже все , що можливо , до цього все працювало проблема виникла 30.09.2025 у 22:00 за денб до 30-го все відкривалось і я могла керувати програмою. Проханян допомогти, бо продукт оплатила лае скористатись не можуДодаю скріншот етапу на якому виникає проблема

Hi Adobe Community, I keep experiencing problems whenever I export my PDF from Illustrator. The message keeps saying:"An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem."  Does anyone know why this keeps happening? Sometimes I will make a new file and save it and it works.. But it's taking so much time to export one file when I have multiple files to export. Please help! Best,Peter

Hi, I am trying past the contents of one .ai file into a second file and have those contents align with an object. The original files contain a dieline layer as well as a couple of artwork layers, and the file that I'm pasting into has the exact same dieline. I want to paste in all of the layers from the original file and then be able to align all of the content so that the two dielines line up. And I want to do so without mis aligning the artwork from the dieline or merging layers. Is there a way to do this? Because the artwork bleeds over the dieline unevenly, aligning everything relative to the artboard is not an option. 

I recall that once upon a time when your file was missing links, if you relinked one file, Illustrator would find all the other linked files in that folder and ask you if you wanted to relink them. Now, Illustrator can only seem to find just the file you are seeking to relink. If I have a file linked twice in a document, Illustrator only relinks one of them, even through they are identical. What happened to this very important time-saving feature? I've been using this application professionally since Illustrator 88, and while it's come a very long way since then, in the last few years it appears to be regressing instead of progressing with the above mentioned example as proof.   {Renamed by MOD}

This is a strange one, I downloaded a hexagon vector on Adobe Stock and it opens as a hexagon. Then I noticed after I closed the file, showing on recent files, is an image full of symbols, including natC and communist symols, but not the hexagon I downloaded. It has the same id # AdobeStock_197605490.ai on the thumbnail with the natC symbols as the hexagon I downloaded.  PS: And the irony is, after trying to post this, natC is. banned word, lol.

Manually: I have one object(Main Piece). I duplicate it onto another layer (UG_OG). I use the "off_neg_1_16in" action I have. It selects the offset piece(Offset Piece) and nothing else. I change the spot color tent to 100%. End result is perfect.Script: Does everything but after the action it still has everything selected and changes the color for all of them. End result is inncorrect. I should note it only does the offset on the UG_OG piece which is what I want. So im even more confused as to how the other 2 pieces are still selectedSo even though after it does the action it should technically only have 1 object selected but has all 3 pieces selected. Are you suppose to deselect objects in the script every single time? I thought it would do this automatically if true?I put safe guards in place to only change what I want but I was wondering if im doing something wrong? Why and How is a script completely different than doing it manually? Script doesn't show safe guards btw.var ogPi

I updated my Illustrator the other day to Adobe Illustrator 2025 and both new files and files I have been previously working on with the older version of Adobe are running significantly slower.  What could be the issue here and a solution please. 

I was saving a file in Illustrator 2021 when the electricity went out and my computer turned off. When I turned it on later and opened the file it had a "Text Import Option" error message. When I click "Ok" it opens a blank document.  I'm looking for solutions on the web, but nothing works 😞 Is it possible to recover the file? It is a really important jobThanks in advance

I have placed images for backgrounds and inside of masks. Everything is scaled and positioned correctly. When I save my file and re-open it the next day, some of the placed image files have moved out of position significantly (image attached).If I embed the images the problem disappears but significantly slows down my project and increases file size. This bug makes the 'place file' functionality redundant as I cannot send over files if things will only re-open incorrectly when handing the package off to artworkers or client. Thanks in advance.

Would be nice to have an option to constrain the Grid to the Artboard. Curent format it is distracting to have the grid outside of your work area.Just a thought. 

Hi everyone, Ai File  I'm encountering a recurring error in Adobe Illustrator (latest version available as of today) when working with text boxes. Step-by-step behavior: (You can also check this short 1 min video: error video )I create or select a text box with long content.I resize the box smaller using the Free Transform / Bounding Box tool, which correctly triggers the small red plus sign in the bottom-right corner indicating text overflow.When I try to resize the box back to make the hidden text visible again, Illustrator throws the following error:"Bounding Box / Free Transform tool encountered an unknown error. Error: PARM"Additional details:The error only occurs when there's text and I attempt to expand the box back.The file becomes partially unresponsive and I usually have to restart Illustrator.This happens on multiple machines, not just mine.System specs (main workstation):Windows 11 (fully updated)Adobe Illustrator (latest version from Creative Cloud

I have placed an angular dimension.. but I'd like to hide the text that tells the angle.. and ultimately, provide a text description instead of the value... is there a way to hide the numerical value?

I've created text within a bounding box so that when the text is edited, the bounding box adjusts to the text size. I'm using a rounded corner as a bounding box, however when I increase the rounded corners, a weird bit of vector sticks out only on 1 side (left side of my attached image). Any idea how to get rid of it?

I hope this isn't a silly question.. I am working on a document which has been supplied with the Language set to French. I need to spell check it in English, but don't seem to be able to change the languge of the dictionary.I have changed the setting in Settings>Hypenation.Did language not used to appear as a setting in the character panel?Thanks!!

Came across this simple yet elegant effect and always wondered if this can be replicated easily through overlays and effects in Illustrator. I would like to keep text editable and the only method I'm aware of is compound shapes and exclude using Pathfinder, which isn't ideal.Thanks in advance

Hi!I'm an artist and I really need some help. I am in dire need of a new computer that supports Adobe CreativeCloud and Adobe Illustrator. I thought it was going to be simple to find one but I keep getting mixed reviews and there are so many options and details to consider. I just got out of college and I need to be careful with big purchases...and I am nervous that I'm going to waste my money on the wrong device. I am getting super overwhelmed with this whole process so if anyone can give me advice or recommendations I would really appreciate it. Heres where im at:I know that I do not want a Mac device. Right now I have a Surface Pro (which I absolutely love)  but it is really old and does not meet the requirements for Adobe. I would love to get an upgraded Surface Pro but a lot of the newer Surface Pro's have the Snapdragon/ Snapdragon x Elite processor and I don't understand if that is compatible with Adobe Illustrator. I understand most of the system requirements but

I thought this was an obvious bug and it will get fixed quickly but this was a couple of versions ago... Why does the black arrow acts irregularly like a white arrow?Meaning... I have the black arrow selected and a group of objects, I'm zoomed out, I want to drag this group to another position on the page, but illustrator keeps selecting single points, so I'm dragging single points out of a single object instead of the whole group  - which is usually what a white arrow does, not the black one. .. Why? What is this?It's pretty annoying and stops the workflow.

Before I pull my hair out and have to spend hours starting again I wanted to find out if there was a problem, or I am missing something (which ios possible as I don't regularly use Illustrator). This is the second time I have saved I have saved a file in Illustrator Beta over the past few days, but when I go to open the file the next day there are missing layers and all the assets are gone.  I had spent hours getting the file to where it was yesterday, which was almost print ready, and I don't want to have to start it again as my friend is waiting on the file. Also note that whilst I can click on the tool icons on the left, the screen icon remains as a Pencil and does not do anything, so I cannot edit the artboard even if I wanted to. Does anyone have any idea of what I have done, or how I can recover the layers/assets?

Hello everyone. For the past few days, I've been having a problem displaying transparencies in Illustrator 28.7 on my PC. When I click on ‘Preview’, a white rectangle appears. To view the transparency correctly, I have to disable the GPU, which affects the application's performance. Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution? Thank you.

Does illustrator extendscript have an event listener?I need a certain function to be activated when a object/group is selected.I am planning to actually use this in cep extension, it will be some change in UI depending on number of selected objects.
