Hi everyone,I’m experiencing a serious issue in Illustrator.When I create a new document, everything works fine: objects display at the correct size on the artboard, and their dimensions in the Properties/Transform panel are accurate.But after I save the file, close Illustrator, and reopen the same document, the objects still look visually correct on the artboard. However, in the Properties/Transform panel their dimensions suddenly become extremely large.The problem is that once this happens, all Illustrator tools (transform, align, distribute, scaling, etc.) start following these incorrect giant dimensions, which makes it impossible to keep working normally in the same file. It also affects zoom and scroll performance, which become very slow or freeze.So visually the artwork looks right, but Illustrator is treating it as if it were scaled to enormous values.Has anyone else faced this? Could it be a units/scale mismatch or a known bug in how Illustrator handles saved files? Any workaro

Hello - I've come through to the Illustrator forum as I had to get in somewhere - not finding the Adobe help process very flexible, some answers on other forums are similar but not the same, so I'd appreciate your help.My question is: why do my libraries on my pc say they are up to date when they are not - I've worked in Adobe Capture and saved shapes the past few days and none of them are showing on the pc libraries, all have appeared previously - I can open the new files successfully direct from phone to Illustrator or Photoshop, but they still don't appear in my pc libraries panel.I have my Creative Cloud panel open on the pc, I'm also signed into the Adobe website.Any help please?

Is it possible to use the Pathfinder Extrude effect to some live type? I'm trying to acheive a blank area inside the type (see image). Where you see black in the letters, I would like that to be the dark gray background, while still being able to change the text. I've tried applying the Extrude in the appearance panel but it doesn't seem to do anything. Thanks.

Hola foro, mi problema es basicamente ese, no puedo mover los objetos que selecciono con la flecha negra (v) solo puedo moverlos con las flechas del teclado pero el mouse no me funciona. Puedo escalar, puedo rotar puedo hacer todo menos moverlos (como si estuviesen bloqueados) no tengo agrupados los objetos ni tengo bloqueados, reinicie la pc, reinicie illustrator y no hay caso y me pasa en todos los documentos. SOLUCIÓN por favor!!!

9/10/2025 just updated illustrator. This problem described below is a potentially a bug and also for discussion. This is occurring on Windows version of Illustrator.I used to be able to place guides on their own layer titled "Guides". Then when drawing, I could locate that guide layer below my drawing layer. This placed the guides under my drawing. As of today, the guides in my Guide layer are always on top of my drawing (no matter where I drag my "Guides" layer). This is very distracting.1. Is this an issue that can be resolved?2. If so, how can I repair this problem?

Hello! I have been having an issue with Illustrator in which every time I launch the app it opens to the home page, but then immediately freezes and stops responding, and I have to use the Task Manager to close it. I have tried restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling creative cloud, using the Adobe Cleaner, uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator, ensuring that Illustrator is updated, and resetting my preferences. After I tried the Adobe Cleaning last night it worked once, but after closing it and trying again this morning the issue is back. Does anyone know what may be wrong?

The subject line above should be sufficient.  Illustrator was working fine 2 hours ago.  Now is malfunctions, and update also malfunctions.  Tech Support is needed.  Where is it?

Once I've created my 3D shape in Illustrator, the program recognizes what I would like as the front of the shape as the bottom. Can I change what is considered the "front" somehow? Thanks for your help!

Please add 'Snap to Document Bounds, just like in Photoshop.Even with Smart Guides switched on, Ai does not snap to the corners and edges of an Artboard, which is a must have for accurate work.

Hello everyone,I need some help. I am trying to generate a JSX to automatically export the artboards of an Illustrator document to TIFF (I have three artboards within the same document, and I am trying to export two separate images to two TIFF files) and save them to a specific folder.I've done this, but it's not working properly and I don't know where the error is. Can anyone help me??? Wow!Banging my head against the wall trying change the color of the font to a Gradient. This has to be near the top of the least intutive processes I have experienced in several years. However, only after watching Monika's video from a couple years ago was I able to complete the task.Thanks Monika.

Hii everyoneI have this artwork that consists of outline strokes. I cant figure out how I can turn these outline strokes into normal strokes. Any thoughts?  

If I eyedropper a color from the vector art or pixel image I use to make a pattern swatch, I get the correct color. If I eyedropper (with shift held down) over a shape that is filled with that same pattern, I get the wrong color. Not sure if this is a bug or just a complicated color profile issue, but it occurs only in pattern-filled shapes, whether the pattern is generated from vector art or from an embedded pixel image. Anyone know what's going on here? I've attached a screencapture gif of me doing this, because I feel like I'm going crazy and I need y'all to see what's actually happening. The work-around is: I expand or rasterize a small shape off the artboard and fill it with the pattern, then color-select from that. With high-res images or complex vector art this can slow me down a little, but it works. It's just a baffling issue that's hard to catch and has lead to mistakes. Sometimes the color differences are less obvious than in this example. 

I found an odd issue with rotating elements around the centerpoint of a circle. To recreate the issue:Create a circleCreate a triangle with points aligned to the circumference of the circleRotate the triangle around the centerpoint of the circle  Theoretically, the points of the triangle should remain aligned with the circumference of the circle. However, Illustrator is shifting the tringle off the circumference. The issue is only visible at high magnification, but  causes issues when trying to create precise compound shapes.  I was able to recreate this issue across multiple machines, running Illustrator 29.7.1 and 29.8.1. No snap-to preferences are in use.  Is this user error I am overlooking, or is there an issue with how Illustrator is computing the rotation? 

Ive recently installed Cutting Master 5 and tried using it for the first time. I can't find any resources or help as to why the newest version of Illustrator locks up when I try to send a file to Cutting Master 5. All programs are up to date. Any ideas?

However, when I save the file as SVG using "Save As," the options "Convert fonts to outlines" and "Preserve Illustrator editing capabilities" no longer work. These features used to work before. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator multiple times, and I've also deleted the preferences, but the issue persists.What should I do?

Hello all,I work in signage and we use Illustrator everyday for large format printing.My problem is that now and then, when saving the documents as a pdf, the crop marks and bleeds are HUGE. This doesn't happen everytime and is becoming very frustrating. Can anyone help with this please? 

Hello Adobe community,I am really struggling and not sure if it's a glitch or if it's something I am doing. My file is 8.5 by 11 inches and I have set bleed marks to 0.125 inches. The printing company I typically deal with asks for trim marks in order to print. For some reason, the PDF is saving with excessively long trim marks (see attached image). When I open the file in Adobe Acrobat and go to the document properties, the page size appears to be 17.67 x 20.17 inches (see attached image). I am also including images of the settings I use when saving the PDF. I tried creating a new 8.5 by 11 in document with the same 0.125 in bleed settings, pasting all the same artwork and saving as PDF with the same settings and it miraculousy works. Is this a system glitch? It will take me forever to do this with all the pages of the final file and I'm hoping there's a better solution. Please help!Thanks! 

Hello, Stroke changes shown only seen in Isolation Mode. It is not Outline mode obviously. But I cannot find how to fix it.  No colour, no stroke changes appean in, but filling is normal. When go to the isolation mode, stroke looks how I customised. When exit from isolation mode, it doesn show my update on the stroke.  Thank you in advance.
