Illustrator has suddenly become extremely laggy on my Mac (slow zoom, slow dragging, delayed movement). It was working perfectly until yesterday.Had installed 2024, 2025 and had been using 2026 for a few days/week. None is working properly at the moment I have already tried:updating macOSreinstalling Illustrator (29.8.3)removing all Illustrator preferences and cache foldersresetting Illustratorchecking "GPU Performance"confirming my GPU is active (AMD Radeon Pro 5300, Metal 3 supported)According to ChatGPT:Despite this, Illustrator stays in CPU mode and performance is very slow. I am pretty sure the question was asked at least once before. However, it may have happened once again. Today I received 4 software updates in CC. Not real sure if there were any updates since the Version number does not show a change.  Does anyone know if Adobe uses Semantic or some type of version sequence for the updates? The assumption based on the version number for LrC 15.0.1 they are using (SemVer). The updates are a little annoying since the user has to guess there was a change and what changed. Thanks

Hey guys, I have been experiencing this bug when accessing the 'format settings' window. When I go to export assets in the Export Selection window and then press the Format Settings options, half of my options are missing, including the PNG 24 option. I've tried reinstalling Illustrator to see if it would fix the issue, and it did for a day, but then it happened again. Im running the latest version and on MacOS Tahoe. Please note that this issue was also occurring on macOS Sanoma. Hope someone can help! ThanksFrankie

Illustrator 2023. Despite Illustrator has been working fine in the first two weeks, now i'm experiencing some problems regarding the 3D functions.  If i want to work on a segment and i chose any option from the 3D panel, nothing works and a banner says that Illustrator cannot process that object.  How can i solve this issue?Thanks

Hi, I'm trying to create an envelope distort with top object, despite my top object being a single path, I'm being given the message - This path requires a selection of multiple objects. The top object must be a single path or mesh, or a symbol containing a single path or mesh. Does anyone have ant ideas to get around this?

Hi Adobe team, I’m running into a frustrating issue with Place → Link in Illustrator. When I edit the original linked file, the object in my AI document does not keep its original size. Even using Relink doesn’t help — Illustrator scales or stretches the linked object according to the old document transform. This makes working with linked files extremely inconvenient. It would be great if linked files could always insert and update at their original size without any manual resizing. Please consider fixing this in a future update. Thanks!

Elements are moving, somethimes completely off the pasteboard after save. All looks good on save, then reopen to find elements have moved. Requires multiple saves to keep them where they should be and very frustrating as it means erroneous files have been sent to print. If there is a fix great, this is more of a complaint to Adobe! 

Hello everyone, I want to add an .icc color profile to the list of available color profiles. I have installed the .icc file in Windows C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color, restarted Illustrator but my .icc does not appear in the list. can anyone help me?

I love ancient Chinese calligraphy fonts, but because I'm not interested in certain fonts, I didn't want to use them, so I successfully uninstalled them. However, I noticed that some uninstalled fonts in Adobe Illustrator are marked with an asterisk. How can I remove these missing fonts from my font library? 

Illustrator 30.0 is literally unuable right now on Tahoe, just as the recent forum posts have also stated since last night.Yesterday (11/17) night, Apple seems to have rolled out silent backgrounds updates, which in turn have greatly affected the performance of illustrator.I myself, experience lag so much that I cannot event zoom in, click on files or text.  I am currently trying to work around this by exporting the projects I need to complete into svg files, and imported them into Figma. Figm runs smoothly. Can you believe that? A free software of all things. I think I speak on behalf of everyone right now but, if it weren't for the Terms & Conditions that we all agree too when we use adobe,Adobe would have been sued so hard right now.

When I create a new Adobe Illustrator file or save an existing one, an extra folder appears containing a file named “.saveinprogress.” What does this mean? It has happened several times. I usually delete it, and when I open the Adobe Illustrator file again, there’s no problem.

Having experienced major lag and unresponsivenes from illustrator 30.1 this morning, even though there was no issue last nightI had a meeting with my creative director who used the same OS as me. It seems that Adobe is experiencing Cloud Server issues which in turn affect our adobe software that is connected online. In order to fix the recent lag, run all your software offline and disconnect from the cloud.This has worked for me after 2hrs of trouble shooting and thinking it is a MAC OS Tahoe issue. Kind Regards   I

What is this??I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe, settings completely reset, built entirely new object, copied this to a new file, and have tried placing the mesh in different locations. Why does it do this? First it was the kinks in the mesh lines that I could not sort out and just dealt with, then not being able to change an anchor from a corner to smooth, now I'm getting color gradient objects floating. This is not only in this file. What am I doing wrong with the mesh tool? I've done 15 objects so far and I keep discovering new maddening issue not stated in the forums.Kinked line and artifact. Kinked line is not impacting the artifact, only moving the center of the mesh point. 

I have 4 layers on my Illustrator document. I am hiding 2 of the layers for printing. I hide the layers in Illustrator in the layers tab and save as a PDF. When I open the PDF, everything looks fine. When I go to print the hidden layers magically appear. I don't inderstand why... In my attached screenshot of my laptop, you can see the document I want printed (with layers hidden) in the background and what it is trying to print. Please can someone help!

Hi, I have an illustrator ai file supplied by a client along with the linked images/fonts. When the image is linked, the images come in at a strange scale. Its like photoshop canvas size has been extended on one edge of the image, but after checking and resaving the psd files i can confirm that the additional space is not there. I've had the issue crop up in previous versions of illustrator but never found a solution.Hopefully the attached images will assist in explaining the issue i have.

I am trying to create mockups in firefly with AI.  I first imported my designs that were created in illustrator and in jpeg. but the clarity and scale were not there. then I asked chatgp how to do it and it said to use png but that is not working in firefly at all.  I have never workd in firefly so know nothing about it.  I just want different scales and clarity for my mockups to use on instagram.  than you for any help you can give me.  I need step by step, not a teckie.  

I am creating labels in Adobe Illustrator and for some reason the files are enormous. The file size is roughly 2x4 inches. It has one 28MB PNG and one 6MB PNG embedded other than some text and a barcode. But the file size is 400MB! I don't have trouble working in it, but I don't like to submit such a massive file to the printing company. 😳 Is there anything I can do to get a decent sized file?   <Title renamed by MOD>

I'm using Illustrator 30.0 to prepare some scientific figures. I use matplotlib to output a PDF, which I then "Place" in my Illustrator file, and after making my edits I would export the file as a new PDF. However, when I do this, the output files' colors seem messed up on every PDF viewer I use (Acrobat, Chrome, Firefox, even Illustrator). For example, here's a screengrab of the matplotlib output, which looks as expected:Here's the preview in Illustrator, before export:And here's after export. Document color mode is RGB, exporting using the [PDF/X-4:2008] preset, though other settings have given me similar results:If I change the document color mode to CMYK before export, it looks slightly different, but still bad:And here's my color settings, if it's any clue:I don't expect a perfect color match on the output, but this seems dramatically far off.
