Questions

I have been having a lot of trouble the past two weeks with linked artwork not being visible when imported into InDesign. Usually, I was able to cut the artwork and repaste it (in exactly the same place and on exactly the same layer) and it would show up. Now, however,  on a file that I created using Save As and giving it a new name, ALL of the linked artwork is showing in the list of files but for some reason is microscopic—not exaggerating, they literally dots on document when I use the Go to Link from the links sidebar; then, when I start to expland ot to the right size, it behaves as though I'd imported it using Trim size instead of Visible Layers (I did not).  Also, when I try to copy and paste from the original document, the pasted image is the same microscopic as the linked artwork.  All I did was rearrange the elements on the page after creating the new vile so both files are exactly the same size and use exactly the same artwork. I am an engraver and just started sticker printing. The last two updates seems to be terrible for me. I thought it was my RAM or even my graphics card(s). i waited for hours for a 7 px offset. 7 hours!!!! Ive got to be doing something wrong, or is the updates really that bad at this moment?

One of our users is having the following issue: I had to force quit my illustrator and when I reopened one of the files that was recovered, some of the images that were not rasterized are now showing up as blank. I've highlighted the area in blue where the images are now showing as blank. 

Yesterday I was working with a layout and looking over fonts. Today I go back in and start working on a new project and for some reason the character window is now different.  I can not change the width of the tab, and when I go to look at the fonts I can not see the example only the names.  It was VERY helps to see what I was looking for before I would choose.  Did it seriously change overnight?

I'm really hoping that someone knows of an obscure setting somewhere in Illustrator that will help this to work for me!I use the pencil tool all the time and was very excited to see the new Live Preview functionality.I have discovered that this works in a bit of a strange way for me.I have a Microsoft Surface Book 2 (touchscreen) and a Surface Pen.The Live Preview works if I use the mousepad, or my finger on the screen, but not if I use the pen on the screen. The same goes for Touch mode in Illustrator which I thought might make a difference.I've attached my Pen (and Pencil Tool) settings here.Many thanks!Becki

Hi! I have a document that's getting some colors inverted when I save to pdf using the preset provided by our printer. We've saved this document the same way many times in the past using the same preset with no issues, so I assume it's something to do with the latest illustrator update.So the preset I'm supposed to use has the color conversion set to "convert to destination (perserve numbers)" with the destination as "US Web Coated (SWOP) 2".If I change it to no color conversion the colors are fine. Things I've tried: There was a document that was placed on the artboard that had a spot color in it, I deleted that and deleted the spot color swatch. I restarted illustrator, then restarted my computer. I tried having a colleague save the file. I copied all of the artwork and pasted it onto a new artboard. I tried just recreating some of the elements without using the eye dropper. I've attached some pictures to show what I mean. It's only on some text and shape objects, and

Hello, i dont know how it happened but when Im trying to open an .ai file in illustrator im receiving this message(1) and the artboard is only like this(2). Please help, i dont want to start over with my design.

Hi, Adobe community, I'm encountering a really strange export bug with my Illustrator project that I cannot shake off. I've created this little shape using the Spiral tool and the width tool and applied a gradient along the stroke. Pretty simple: I'm extremely happy with the result, but when I export it to PNG, the final result has these really nasty holes that I cannot get rid of: The number and severity of the holes relates to the physical pixel size of the object, and I cannot figure out a size that results in the holes disappearing. I've tried making the shape REALLY big (about a quarter of the maximum canvas size), REALLY small, and playing around with the export settings, but I cannot figure out the cause. This is what the spiral's geometry looks like when I activate the width tool: Is there anything else I can try to remedy the issue? Hello,I recently bought IPAD Air 13' M3 with pencil pro to draw with AI. Unfortunately when i;m using the pencil (the brush works fine) the line lags behind the pencil and after a while it also becomes wobbely. Any idea how to solve this issue (change in settings perhaps)?  

I am surprised Adobe would release this version of illustrator. It is full of bugs to the point that it is unusable and it's the first time I've had to revert back to a previous version of illustrator to be able to use the software. Adobe should do a better job of testing before they release. I have the same swatch isseus as others. I also have a constant profile mismatch warning dialog that pops up in the middle of an open document when I edit a global swatch or in many cases it just pops up randomly and I must click cancel over and over before it will close only to pop right back up. I also can't change the name of an artboard in the export for screens window. I can change it and it will look as if it was changed until I export and then it will use the previous name when saving no matter how many times I change it will look as if it changed but does not. These are just a few of  the bugs that have made 29.7.1 worthless. I have a suggestion for Adobe… how about focusing on provid

Je sais que ma forme de base se transforme en masque, mais jusqu'à présent, la base dessous restait visible. J'ai utilisé cette fonction bien des fois. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi elle est invisible maintenant. Ai-je fais une fausse manipulation quelque part?

Hello everyone, I am trying to create this watercolor object / effect.  and I've tried using Artistic brushes, but as you can see I am not even close &#x1f605  The original object is made of 2068 paths (Says Document info) I believe that there is some relatively easy way to achieve this, do you have any suggestions?

Is there really no way to scale a group that contains elements that are hidden & have those hidden elements scale with the rest of the group? I have a logo that's built of many elements & includes contruction lines & other reference objects.Leaving aside the pain of having to switch all of these items on & off individually, it's incredibly difficult to scale & position something when you can't just see the bit you want to see. Layers in a folder in Photoshop scale, whether you can see them or not. Why is this not the case in Illustrator? Or is it? Am I missing something?

Updated this morning to Illustrator 25.3 - as soon as the update was done this scripting error began appearing (every 30 seconds). .. Personally went back to 25.2.3 which has solved this issue.        {Renamed by MOD}

Hi. Is there a way to "instantiate" the copy(ies) of an object when the copy is done through Transform FX? In other words, say I have an object I copy 2 times in Transform FX where I have applied a horizontal shift of 1 in. Can I turn those two copies into actual objects, as exact duplicates of the original object (to which the Transform FX was applied)?   The only way that comes close is via Expand Appearance but that creates altered copies of the original object, not exact copies. So it is not what I am looking for. By "altered copies", I mean for example that any live FX applied to the original object are expanded and not maintained as live FX when the copy is expanded.   This is for CS4 but answers for any version are welcome. This problem is happening with the current version of Illustrator, version 29.01, but it started happening in the previous 2 or 3 versions.  When I first launch Illustrator, then use the stroke color option in the appearance panel, the box appears at the extreme opposite side of the UI.  It doesn't happen if I use the fill color option, and it only happens once.  The first time I try to use it after a fresh restart.  But it happens 100% of the time after a fresh restart.  When it happens, I have to wait a second, then click the stroke color option again, then maybe once or twice more to "fix" it. I'm using a Windows PC running Windows 10.

Dear all,I am a music engraver and I am working on a complex contemporary work which needs a lot of vector drawing for special playing techniques and other non-standard notational elements.So far, everything has been smooth sailing but today I have stumbled upon something that worked until 5 minutes before and is not working now. The graphics are created in Illustrator and then exported as SVG to be placed in the software Avid Sibelius (which supports only SVG as vector format). Sometimes, though, I need to export the SVG from Sibelius or Dorico, two music notation software, clean it in Illustrator, re-export it in up to SVG 1.2 Tiny standard (the maximum that the QT framework appears to support), and re-import it again in Sibelius. Attached below you will find three files. The "4-b1_3-DB" and "4-b5_7-DB" ones work flawlessly. AI crashes a when working on SVG and I use the Direct Selection Tool.  i have an apple mac 2024 with m4 chip and 32 gb of ram 

so this issue says it is from the adobe server end and i am not able to troubleshoot it fom the end looking for solutions and i am using a mac system. 

I can't package this illustrator file.It has been saved and the package menu item is still grayed out.Why?Is it because I have Creative Cloud library items linked?What is the point of CC if its always restricting features? 

Every time I save a file, a duplicate is being saved.filename.aifilename-01.ai??

Am I crazy, or is there still no way to convert/change all points in a project to "hard" or "remove all handles" at the same time? Hola espero que alguien pueda ayudarme con esto. Hoy al abrir mi archivo de illustrator me ha saltado este mensaje (adjunto imagen): Illustrator solo ha podido leer este archivo parcialmente.Hemos recuperado la mayor parte posible del archivo, pero puede que se haya perdido parte del contenido. Ábrelo para ver el archivo recuperado. Se ha borrado el 99% de mi trabajo y no sé cuál ha sido el motivo. En la miniatura puedo ver todo lo que era mi trabajo pero al abrir todo se ha borrado. ¿Existe alguna solución para recuperar el trabajo? Si es así estaría muy agradecida por vuestra ayuda... Muchas gracias, 

After updates in Illustrator became so slow that it is actually no longer usable. Even after reinstalling. Some older versions are also very slow.I have a very fast computer with a lot of memory. What can be going on?
