Hi! I'm quite new to using 3d in Illustrator. I want to make a cube that I can animate in After effects, so I learned I have to prepare using the new 3d and materials panel, not the classic 3d panel. The problem is that the mapped symbols get distorted very easily, and I don't know how to control this.Every face of the cube has a word, and I need to be able to manipulate the cube, changing size, position.. until I get a nice looking storyboard and ideally the cube ready to use in AE.  I made some tests and I could get the cube to AE and use it there, but the problem is that I can't freely manipulate the cube (in this version, not actually a cube) without getting all the faces to look crazy. In the example I'm attaching, I tried to resize the cube, and I got all kinds of distortions, including spirals. So I tried to add all the symbols again, and they keep getting randomly distorted, like in this print. In this version, the symbols are words added to the symbols panel.Ill

How can we create an AI system that looks at Adobe Illustrator template files, understands their parts like layers, texts and images, and then groups these parts into sections like header, footer, and product area? The system should give back an organized result as a JSON file or a new Illustrator file with these groups. It should also work well with new templates without needing any manual updates or changes.

Just like shown in the image above, why is this turned off and what can I do to use it?

Hoy al abrirlo, estaba completamente alterado: objetos fuera de la mesa de trabajo, textos fuera de su sitio, información de la mesa de trabajo 1 colocada en la mesa 2 o fuera...¿Le ha pasado a alguien más? Parece un error de software pero sólo ha sucedido con un archivo (de momento) y no está relacionado con actualizaciones porque la última es de hace 7 días y no me había pasado nunca. Muchas gracias.Un saludo,Beatriz,

I reset my Illustrator preferences recently and now I cannot see the guide line that appears when using the pencil tool to show what shape you are drawing. Is there an option I missed that can turn this on?

I'm developing an Illustrator script (JSX) to automate text placement on various artboards. My goal is to position text precisely based on its actual visual size (glyph bounds), not the text frame's bounding box, which includes inconsistent padding.My script is constantly misaligned because:TextFrame.position and geometricBounds always reference the outer bounding box of the text frame.If I change the text content (TextFrame.contents), the bounding box height changes, but the text is still misaligned relative to the bounding box's top edge.I've tried calculating the required scale factor using a temporary TextFrame.createOutline() object to find the glyph height, and that works for scaling the font size. However, I still can't find a reliable way to calculate the precise (x,y) coordinates for the final TextFrame.position (which is the bottom-left corner) so that the visible top of the text aligns with a specific coordinate.Is there a reliable way in Illustrator scripting to:Get the Y o

I'm furious right now! Illustrator just crashed after 10 hours of work!!!!!! It recovered the file, but only at the stage I was probably at after just 2 hour,  the rest is completely lost! I checked everything, and it saved approximately nothing!!!!  HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE WITH ADOBE !!!!!!NOW THE PROGRAM DOESNT WORK AT ALL! !!WHAT TO DO ?!

I'm making some business cards for a company and I have certain elements that are the same for every card - logo, main phone, lic. #, website - but then i need to be able to change the name, email, title, and mobile #, and I am trying to understand a way to do this with symbols or templates or something. Anyways any and all help appreciated!

I recently started using Illustrator on a PC at work, and I've been running into an issue I haven't been able find solutions to anywhere. I can run Illustrator from a few minutes to an hour, but at a certain point the view window freezes and stops updating. The program itself still runs -- I can use all the buttons, make changes, and move around, but the view stays frozen. I've tried restarting my PC, uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator, and even uninstalling Creative Cloud, but none of these seem to work. I'm running the latest version of Windows, and all my drivers are up-to-date as well. Other Adobe programs work fine, it's just Illustrator that seems to have this issue -- any ideas?

Illustrator kept crashing so I updated. After update I openeded a file. It said it could not read all info and would do it's best. When the file opened it was a flat image. I've uninstalled the new version and reinstalled the version I created it in and opened the file but it is still flat. It was saved as a pdf file. I made a new document with vectors, saved and opened and it did not flatten. However I'm afraid to try an open anything else. 

With the Real-Time Drawing and Editing preference checked my grouped objects do not drag correctly. Masked images remain static until the drag is finished then they return to their correct spot within the mask at the new location. This happens when one of the grouped elements in the object is on top of the masked image and set to multiply. This preference setting also creates issues when dragging a grouped asset to the Asset Export panel. It fails to add the asset to the panel and leaves some stray anchor points after dropping the object in a new location on the artboard. Sometimes it also rearranges the individual objects within the group as it fails to add it. Unchecking the Real-Time Drawing and Editing preference setting resolves these issues. 

Hi guys. I just made a logo with 2 diferent text and then i just "cut" the stroke from one using knockout group but one of them is pixelated. Does everybody have a solution to this?Thanks.

When dragging a graphic element to a new empty layer, there is no image preview in the layer square (row Size Medium Option in Layer Panel). When you add another element, a preview appears, but if you only have one element in a layer, you have to do extra steps to see the contents of the layer.

Hello Adobe Community,I can't set Illustrator 2025>Settings>Preferences>File Handling>File Save Options>"Automatically save recovery data every:">to e.g. 1 minute.I've set it to any value greater than "30 seconds", but it always goes back to "30 seconds".Does anyone have a solution for this?Best RegardsDušan Bekar

When I try to export to an .ai file to .psd or .png, i get these two messages (attached).  I have rebooted.  I have reset illustrator settings.  And i've done a clean up of my macbook pro 16 inch 2019, with a purchased software.  i've also posted my macbook info.  Any help would be appreciated.  

I have purchase Illustrator for 1 Year, but now getting error says "Request Access", I try login from Cloud Account there's no option for grant access, i try uninstall form cloud maybe some error i think, but when try installing again, the app still say "request acces" and i can't install illustrator, please help

 Hi everyone,As shown in the image above, my selection tool isn’t displaying the anchor points that allow me to drag and resize objects. This issue has been occurring frequently lately.I’ve tried reinstalling and even rolling back to previous versions, but the problem returns after a few days with each version.Could someone please guide me on how to permanently fix this issue?Thanks in advance for your help!

Is there anything going on with the macOS, Ai 2025 and CEP?Can't get my signed extension to run on it. It's showing up in the menu but it's a blank panel.2024 on macOS works fine; 2024 and 2025 on Windows works fine.I've been doing extensions for a while now, I don't think I've missed anyting.

I want to crop a JPG image. This problem began happening yesterday. The clipping mask is on top, the top layer, no complex shapes, etc.

I have multiple lines where the corners need to meet and perfectly align, but I can't get them to perfectly line up. I tried snap to pixel and tried using the smart guides. I tried moving the objects as well as grabbing the ends of the lines to make them longer, but I can't get these to perfectly line up.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 

Illustrator version: 29.8.1 Previously, when illustrator artboards/set of artboards went over a certain size, Illustrator would convert the document to a large format document and extend the canvas area to a new larger maxiumum.  When saving out PDFs, the size would be converted to 1/10th scale.  That has since been fixed with newer PDF versions. However, I have a document that is a large format document with some raster images in it.  My adobe PDF preset is setup to downsample raster images 300dpi for anything over 450.  This usually works fine.  And I have not noticed this issue before.  But currently, the downsampling number I have of 300dpi is getting converted to 30dpi in the final PDF.  I have confirmed this in acrobat with a preflight check.  if I take the same document, and set the downsampling to 2400dpi, the output PDF is 240dpi.  So it seems to me that the downsampling number is getting the same 1/10th scaling treat

Since one of the recent updates to Illustrator, I've noticed a bug where text will change its color from white to black. It seems to happen more to text on paths.Attached image showing the graphic with the text path active (font is white), then the same text with the "create outline" applied and it's immediate change to black.

Unfortunately, the 3D effect prevents me from continuing to use the color gradient. I applied a color gradient to several objects that I named as a compound path. The color gradient no longer starts from the center, as originally intendedDoes anyone have any idea how to keep the original color gradient when using the inflate 3D function? Many Thanks
