I'm having a problem with my Illustrator — the files don't finish processing, and I can't open more than one file in another tab. I didn't have these issues before the update.

I am on the latest version of Illustrator on a Mac Studio. One of my most used custom shortcuts has suddenly disappeared (offset path), when I have gone into edit -> keyboard shortcuts the menu command offset path doesn't exist anymore, I can only set a shortcut for 'effect -> offset path', not 'object -> path -> offset path'. Strangely, offset path still exists in the menu commads under object -> path, it just doesn't appear in the keyboard shortcuts window. Screenshot attached. I've checked for updates and there are none and I've tried resetting so I'm assuming this is a bug. If so, it needs fixing as manually going through the menus everytime is tedious and time consuming. 

When I'm coloring my designs, it would be great to have shortcut to quickly choose color from my swatches.When you click shorcut and swatches window will show so i don't have to click to the side to select it on my own.Would save a lot of time!!! Please consider!!!Thanks

hi, if i generate a graphic using Generative fill ai in Adobe Illustrator can I use that for comercial purpose as free or any royalty charges applies for it?

Tudo certo? Enquanto eu estaba trabalhando em uma arte, apareceu uma tela branca atrás da prancheta, é provável que eu tenha apertado alguma tecla de atalho sem querer, porém não sei como tirar-lá.Quando está no modo de Ferramenta de Prancheta selacionado, essa tela muda escurece.Alguém sabe o que seria essa tela? e como removê-la? Agradeço desde já!  

Hello Adobe team,Since the 2024 update (and now in Illustrator 2025), Illustrator automatically merges character styles when typing in the same text box. This behavior causes a loss of formatting when typing or combining words with different styles.In previous versions, it was possible to keep different styles side by side without Illustrator forcing them to unify. This change has made it difficult to work with creative or editorial designs that require style variations within the same text block.Please add an option in Preferences > Text to turn off this automatic merging behavior.Designers need control over how styles are applied and preserved — automation should always be optional, not forced.Thank you for considering this improvement.Best regards,Sopi

Hi I need help with this Issue. I get stuck with this Saving Data Recovery Information. If I click stop, illustrator would go into outline view and I will not be able to save, save a copy or even export the document. I already lost a lot of progress with this issue. And the data recovery doesn't work at all, it will go back to the black document I started with.  

Hello - If I selected a couple of "imports",is there a way to know via scripting which one was selected first? Since I try to do a Adobe Illustrator Javascript that:1. Check that we have 2 selected imports. Note that the order in which they were selected is important.2. Copy the scale, rotation of the import selected first.3. Display these 3 items of information on the screen (will be remove after).4. Apply the scale of the first import selected to the second import. Thank you,  - Dimitri 

I've been having a problem with Illustrator CC for over a week now on my Windows 11 PC. Everytime I click on the scroll bar to drag my view, it doesn't stop dragging once I lift my mouse and I have to force quit Illustrator. I've reinstalled Illustrator, but it's still happening. I can't find anything on other sites about this issue. Can someone help?

Estoy cansado de que illustrator se cierre inesperadamente, con la última actualización se pueso todo peor. Instalé la versión anterior, la 27.0 y sigue pasando. Es muy incomodo que pagues por un producto cuya versión pirata o ilegal, funciona mejor que la oficial. He pagado desde siempre pero esto ya me sacó de casillas. No sé que hacer para solucionar este problema!Cuando ingreso nuevamente, todo el espacio de trabajo está desconfigurado y pierdo tiempo arreglandolo nuevamente para que a los pocos minutos vuelva y se cierre. 

hi,  Im creating an A4 pdf dress pattern, that will go over many A4 pages. I know how to print and tile etc, however, i need each A4 page to have a 1.5 cm border. Can you please advise how to do this? Thanks, Georgie

When I try to copy and paste a graphic into another illustrator file I get the message: "Can't paste the objects. The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely off the drawing area?" Can anybody help with this? Do I need to change a pref setting? I'm using illus cs5. Thanks!

Ok Im having difficulty in creating 5x5 rectangles with rounded corners, which themselves have a specific height and width and the spacing (rows and columns) inbetween are evely spaced.How would i acheive this???

Hi, To change the height of the text box, I type a number in H in Transform Panel. But the characters in the text box are also skewed. Is there any way to change only the height of the text box with typing numbers in Transform Panel? Hosun

I'm a graphic designer trying to create a JavaScript script for Adobe Illustrator to automatically embed all linked images.The ProblemI often work with files that contain a large number of linked images. When I need to send a PDF with everything embedded, I have to manually embed each image—sometimes clicking hundreds of times. It's extremely tedious.I know I can Shift-click all the linked items and choose Links panel menu > Embed Image(s), but Illustrator prompts a confirmation for each individual image, which defeats the purpose.There must be a more efficient and less painful way to do this.The ApproachWith the help of ChatGPT, I've tried several versions of a script that loop through all placedItems and call .embed() on them. However, they all produce the same issue:Only some images (like every other one) get embedded.Some images change size or shift position after being embedded.I’ve attached screenshots showing the inconsistency. I am new to Illustrator so I'm not sure why the 3 layer design I created won't print or export with all the layers. Only the original image layer shows up in the exported pdf. The layer with a background color and text does not show up. I've looked through the forums and tried multiple options with no success. The layer with text is just a dark blue background with repeating white text covering the whole layer.

My dear tiling and pattern geeks,   I recently read a paper by Miki Imura: "A new non-periodic tiling based on modulo arithmetic*, (arXiv:2506.07638) and fell in love with this tiling.   I couldn't help myself and I've written code to draw these directly in Illustrator. I know how to export multiple artboards as separate PDFs. However, when I open each separate PDF in Illustrator, each contains all of the other artboards, and I haven't found a combination of settings to avoid this, nor have I found anything in the forums (yet), meaning I have to manually delete all the extra artboards. This also happens when I save the AI file as a multi-page PDF and then extract the pages in Acrobat as separate files. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

When I start Illustrator, it shows a system compatibility error: unsupported video driver. My illustrator is updated. And now I can't export my work as PNG or JPG.Does anyone know how to fix that?
