I cannot currently use Illustrator for iPad. It launches but then quits as soon as I move the cursor over either tool bar. Has anyone encountered this problem.
Hi there.I have recently moved to an IPad Pro for doing Illustrator work and would like to be able to save new documents to OneDrive in preparation for the demise of the syncing to Creative Cloud (even for subscribers) in Feb. On my PC I can see the Creative Cloud directory so it was easy to transfer these to OneDrive. Going forward, and only using the iPad, I have no idea how to see the Creative Cloud directory, so can not transfer any new files. Am I missing something? If there was a "Save As" option rather than auto save to a hidden location this would obviously be a lot better. Is this coming as an update to the iPad app when the cloud syncing has gone? Or will the hidden directory be made visible? Any advice, suggestions or training will be appreciated. Thanks in advance
The iPad version of Photoshop and Fresco are being updated to new major releases almost every year but Illustrator has been stuck on version 3.0 since October 2022 only getting minor 3.0.x bug fix updates. The feature set is absolutely bare compared to the desktop version:- No RTL text support- No tabbed interface support (if Safari is able to handle 500 tabs, Illustrator can also handle 10 tabs)- No anchor point setting (for alignment and transform)- No mesh tool- No effects- No appearance panel- No generative fill- No measure tool- Pretty bare bones pen tool. Ever tried to reverse a stroke profile?- No isolation mode- No 3D grid- No envelope distort- No artistic brushes- No import/create brushes- No patterns- No proper gradient tool- No multiple format export - No offset path- No width tool- No advanced align to key object- ...I'm afraid this amazing app has entered maintenance mode
Lets say I drew the black line. Now I want do draw the red line. As you see the distance between the black line and the red line is 3 cm. How can I draw the red line?
Lets say I put 5 dots. Now I want to draw an Arc which goes through these dots. How can I do this?
I am interested in live drawing patterns in illustraitor using the pattern "repeat" tool on ipad, but every time I add one brush mark in the pattern, illustraitor exits out of the "repeat" layer and starts drawing outside of it, thus not repeating the drawing I'm doing. Are there settings I need to change to acheive this? The video of Affinity Designer is just a visual of the workflow I am trying to acheive.
Will these features come to iPad anytime soon? It seems the only post I find with a response to this which explained it was in the works, was in 2021 😞 now being almost 2024 it's a little frustrating it isn't already available 😞
Hi, I have been using illustrator on my iPad pro for a while and now suddenly it closes whenever I try to draw/edit any file. It opens but closes as soon as I draw a single line. There isn't an error crash message and nothing useful in the previous conversations. My iPad is up to date and matches illustrator specifications. Please help
Hi Everyone, I have been using illustrator on my iPad for about four days and really love using it.But yesterday evening I tried to open it, the splash screen appeared for a moment and then disappeared and the application wouldn't open. And it keeps doing this. I haven't been able to open illustrator since. I restarted my iPad, then uninstalled the application before reinstalling it, but I still can't open it. Anyone know what's wrong with it and how to fix it? Thanks.Annette [Subject changed from "changing" to "crashing" as per subsequent post]
Before I upgraded to IpadOS 17, I still can use adobe illustrator on my iPad with IpadOS 16/16.5. After I updated to IpadOS 17, I couldn't even launch the app. It just popped out and went back to my home screen. I'm not using any app before it since I restarted my Ipad before launching Illustrator and I tried uninstalling the app, restarting my Ipad and even tried going into Illustrator with adobe creative cloud, but it's still the same way. BTW, I'm using Ipad Pro 4th generation, software version is IpadOS 17 as I said above, and seems like Adobe Illustrator is also up to date since it didn't ask me for updates these days.
Hello everyone, does anyone know if I can add CutContour in the iPad version of illustrator?thanks everybody in advance
Hello, all of a sudden my Apple Pencil no longer works in illustrator. Nothing responds to it and I can only use my finger. Please help. Thanks
Apple tabletten kullandığım illustrator uygulaması 10 saniye sonra kendisini uygulamadan atıyor.ne yapabilirim... teşekkürler...
I can open Illustrator and my document fine, but the moment I try to select anything, it crashes. I am using an iPad Air (4th gen) with an Apple Pencil (2nd gen). My iPad is fully up-to-date (iPadOS 17.1.2), as is my Illustrator app (3.0.5). This problem persists regardless of whether I try to select with the pencil or with my finger. I have tried restarting my iPad and deleting and redownloading the app, and neither fixed the problem. I looked for the "show effects when using Apple Pencil" setting to turn that off as others have suggested, but this iPad model doesn't support Apple Pencil effects so that option is not there.
Hello Adobe Community, i am having difficulties working with Illustrator on Ipad the last few days. As soon as i try to use my apple pencil in the app, it closes immediately. I have IPad Pro 2022 and the newest iOS and Illustrator App installed. Does somebody else expecierence the same problem? Is it Illustrator crashing or the pencil settings not functioning right?
First of all, when I would open a previous or new document, the app on my iPad would automatically shut down. I deleted the app and installed it again and now when I log in, i click "Restore purchase" and it just loads. I deleted the app and tried again and same thing.
My iPad Pro 4th Gen. 11 in. Automatically updated a few nights ago and now Illustrator keeps crashing when I open it. I've tried a hard reset. I've made sure app is updated to Version 3.0.5. Don't know what to do? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hey everyone! I cannot for the life of me figure out how on to type on a path in Adobe illustrater on Ipad. Ive tried the secondary outer ring trick, I've tried dragging the text to the path, and I've tried selecting both the path and type and clicking the type on path button but nothing works. I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like from my end. Any help is so appreciated!
Hello, I have a very new iPad (bought back In September this year so that shouldn't be the issue), Illustrator seems to crash and freeze when I use it for more than five minutes. I have signed out and in, didn't work, Re installed my app, didn't work, and turned my iPad on and off again, didn't work. I really need it to work smoothly for my business. What can I do? I have an iPad Air, 15th gen, software 16.6.1thank you!
Solucion para que no me cierre la app utilizando el Apple Pencil
I tried to open Illustrator, the splash screen appeared for a moment and then disappeared and the application wouldn't open. It keeps doing this and it is very frustrating as I didn't paid money to not be able to use it. I restarted my iPad, uninstalled and reinstalled it, but I still can't open it. Everything is updated. Anyone know what's wrong with it and how to fix it?Thanks.Ayano
Is your iOS up to the latest version? (17 at the time I'm writing this). What version of Illustrator are you trying to run on what Verison OS on Pad?
Just wondering how Illustrator optimized to perform on the ipad OS? I'm using Illustrator on the latest M2 iPad Pro, with 16gig ram, and not sure it's a huge performance boost over my previous 2018 iPad which only had 4gb ram. Maybe the Illustrator isn't really built to take advantage of the M2 and/or 16gb ram configuration? For comparison, I know that on Mac OS, not all graphics programs can actually use the multi cores, like InDesign and Illustrator for example, so having a high end Mac doesn't necessarily makes those programs go any faster.

Not sure if the issue is software or hardware, but I've got the best hardware there is, and Illustrator doesn't seem to run much faster than on a five year old iPad.Maybe Illustrator for iPad isn't really built to take advantage of the M2 and/or 16gb ram configuration? I am using Illustrator for iPad since day one as a profesional cartoonist. I implore you to add the Width tool and the Free Transform Tool. It is super painful to jump on the desktop version every single time, just for small corrections. What do I have to do to be sure an Adobe employee sees this? Thank you, community. Rares
