I have a multi page document with ~80 pages. each page has some MSOs with show/hide states and some with 10-20 state options. I am looking to link from one page to another and trigger a specific MSO state for the new page load. think of the use case as a map of roads. The map is spread out accross multiple pages. some roads will end at the edge of one page and continue on another. I have buttons where the road ends, and another on the second page where they continue. I want the buttons to load the continuing page, and then trigger the MSO I have that highlights the corresponding connection point.  This may be confusing, but essentially I want a specific button/hyperlink to trigger a specific MSO state on a new page.  As object IDs for mostpage items are number generated, I am only able to identify specific MSOs by their class= using their Object Style, and the name= by naming the MSO and Object State.  

Sometimes tables are not aligned to the bottom of the typearea, and need to be adjusted manually, and I find that the default step is 1mm.This is not practical.I need to try 2-5 times to determine the value of the row height. Can't this be set in the software?Thank you.

Hello everyone, I lost a whole day trying to figure out what is happening here. I am trying to use the data merge function and it keeps behaving the wrong way.This is my CSV (there is more fields but I cropped to give you an idea on a few items)Instead of reading each line as a project it reads each cell one by one and apply them in order in the indesign layout. This is a test file to show you, so here are the fieldsThen when I preview it looks okBut then when I clock to preview each page it keeps reading the data from the first line of the CSV as a continuous stream of dataAnd this keeps ongoing until all the data from the first line has been read it moves on to the second line of the CSV and so onThis is driving me insane I have tried everything, different export options, different import options, it seems to be coming from how indesign wants to read the CSV as the CSV file looks fine. Any ideas? Please someone help me!

I have this text that I want to put over vector.Whenever I try to put it on top it will disappear though or try to continue the text elsewhere (red +)Already tried putting both in different layers but not working.Guess I have to turn off a setting somewhere but I don't know what and where? Help would be muhc appreciated!  

Bonjour, j'ai un problème car je ne peux plus déplacer image et texte sur iN DESIGN. Un rond rouge barré me signale que l'action est impossible. Rien n'est vérouillé. J'ai désinstallé l'application, et l'ai réinstallé, même problème. Idem avec un nouveau document. Je ne peux que déplacer les images et textes avec des flêches, ce qui est très long. Pourriez-vous m'aider svp? Merci.

Hi, I set up a table in InDesign, but for some reason, my text doesn't align with the baseline grid. I double-checked all of the settings, and it doesn't seem like anything is wrong. Why is this happening, and how might I be able to fix it? Thank you!  

Hello, I have a document with many tables with the same Table Style.All the tables have two columns.I have managed to make a java script (jsx) that can change the width of the two columns and applied this automatically to all the tables in the document. Now, I would like to swap the two columns in every table in the document, so that the leftmost column becomes the rightmost one.  If anyone has a few lines of code to accomplish this, it would be great. With best regards from,  Geir Braathen

As the subject says, how long until I get a human response from the email "idfile@adobe.com"? I sent an email today with a file attached to it, as I had issues just trying to open it.The file I sent is a school project that's due by the end of the semester. It was able to open just find the past few weeks working on it, but today it just refused to open. Both the main copy and the back up copy refused to open, and I didn't know why. I'm hoping that by sending the file to the Adobe team, they'll be able to figure out why it won't open.I guess in the end, I'm just anxious on getting the file back as soon as possible so I can get back to working on my project without having to start over from scratch.

Every time I try to open an Indesign file after updating my computer this morning, all my adobe products are moving super show or just stop responding.Is anyone else having issues? 

Hallo Zusammen,ich arbeite momentan an 2 Rechnern an einem Katalog im InDesign. Dies war über den Synchronisierten Ordner super, dieser wurde jetzt abgeschafft. Ich habe nun meine Datei in der Creative Cloud "Deine Dateien" abgelegt. Die Bilder waren zwar eingebettet, aber jetzt auf mein Home-Office Rechner fehlen alle Verküpfungen. Muss ich die ganzen Bilder auch in die Cloud laden? Bei einem Versuch bin ich schon gescheitert, denn eine Ordner lässt sich nicht hochladen. Muss ich jede einzelne Datei konvertieren? Wenn ja, wie ist es mit jpg Dateien, diese werde auch nicht erkannt. Hat jemand einen Link oder Info hierzu?Danke!

Using InDesign v20.1 although this happens with other older "stable" releases. I have the static Google Open Sans font installed in my Windows Machine, and have reinstalled from fresh copy after removing in the registry for Windows. For some reason, the Italic font points to Italic Bold and I cannot figure out why or how to get it to read correctly. I've installed the font on Windows, installed it in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign 2025\Fonts but it makes no difference. Can anyone help me?? I also cannot get it to load from Creative Cloud correctly.  System version:OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 ProVersion 10.0.26100 Build 26100System Type x64-based PC 

Hi all,Im not a developer and I took over this project from my previous developer and have been using AI to help me set it up from CC 2020 to CC 2025 but running into some issues and would greatly appreciate some feedback. Help! I need help in InDesign. I've been working day and night to finish a large project and now I can't print the booklet that I created. The pages don't show. If you are an experienced user I could use your help. I can't see the pages I created only the parent pages that are for formatting fotters and coloumns, and other set elements. I think I'm missing something that I don't know or something that is new.

I built some print product templates using Sztos Variable from Adobe Fonts for the body copy. I used two setting combinations: weight 200/width 115, and weight 400/width 100, and both display as expected in my Indesign app.The InDesign file is saved to a shared company server, and when my coworker opened it, the weight and width presets didn't load for her, and the width slider is capped at 100, unlike mine.We're both using InDesign 20.1, on Macs. Her OS is Sonoma 14.4.1 and mine is Sequoia 15.3.1, so a slight difference. She's updating it to see if anything changes.Any ideas?

When InDesign Server is run via console, it executes the scripts fine, but when running as a Windows service, commonly no processing is triggered; meaning no detail is put to Windows Events giving a clue as to the issue.

I have a document that seems normal (dictionary in Portuguese, language in Portuguese, left-to-right writing), but when I copy text from this document to another (or to another computer, I’ve tested), the text appears from right to left and the dictionary switches to Hebrew. After many tests, I realized that it’s related to my Paragraph Styles (even though they are all in Portuguese) because when I break the link to the styles, the paste comes out correctly.How do I fix this bug in the Paragraph Styles?I’ve already found previous posts about a similar issue – from English to a paste in Arabic – but no one found a solution.Thank you!

I am inserting endnotes in Indesign using the new endnote feature.  When I inserted the first endnote, it assigned the endote as number 1 and took me to the endnote frame.  However, when I inserted the next endnote, it automatically inserted that endnote as "1" an renumbered the first endnote (at the beginning of the document as "2".  And when I inserted the next endote, it assigned that as "2", and the second endnote is still "1" and the first endnote (at the beginnning of the document) is now "3".  What on earth is going on, and how do I fix it?   I am running Indesign CC version 13.0 x64.

I have a linked Photoshop file from which I'm using individual layers in frames spread all around my document.However, when I add another layer in the Photoshop file and relink, the warning "The file xxx.psd has different layers than the imported version. The link will be updated with the source file's current layer visibility settings" pops up and then makes all layers from the Photoshop file visible in the individual frames in the document rather than just the specific layer I initially placed. Thus forcing me to manually relink said layer from the Photoshop file to its respectable frame in the InDesign document.Is there any way to avoid this? Attached is before and after updating the link. I hope it all makes sense(?)

how do I change the text to left aligned in the paragraph styles? 

The client always wants to see standardized typography, so it has to be adjusted every time.But the next time, you need to unmerge the cells again, adjust, and then merge again.Is there any way to minimize repetitive, useless operations.Word seems to have this feature in this area? I've seen examples of setting the middle horizontal line to no color, but that's prone to errors and off is not a good idea.
