In case my question was too confusing, I will provide some context.I need to update an art that will be printed and distributed across different departments in the company where I work. This artwork contains the birthdays of several employees, and the original file is an Excel sheet provided by HR. The thing is, we are looking for a way to make the changes each month as quickly and efficiently as possible. Despite already helping, I still need to make the changes (font, colors, size) manually.Is there a way for InDesign to import the sheet with the settings I just mentioned, so I don’t have to manually change everything?Sorry for any grammatical errors. English is not my first language.

Hi, in InDesign I have a numbering list with the Mode "Continue from Previous Number" but when I try to copy paste one figure, it goes at the last number. For example if I copy one figure between 3 and 4 the new figure does not take 4th place, but goes 71 ( last number in the numbering list) what is the issue? Note:1. For the new elements I tried to "Restart Numbering" - but the number goes to 1, and the other elements from the list are not updated. 2. Also when I try and press "Continue Numbering" the number goes again to 71 Looking forward for a solution. Best regards to everyone!

Is there anyway of setting the preferences to open indesign file in overprint preview mode?You access this normlly by going to the View tab then selecting the View then Overprint Preview.Thanks in advanceMike

Hi, there  I’d like to make an object style that aligns center the text without changing the font in the text frame.  There is a way to do Vertical Justification in Object Style, (Object Style - TextFrame General Options - Vertical Justification- Center )and to align center, as far as I know, the only way is to use paragraph style. But if I use paragraph style, it will be centered, but even the font will change. How do I make an object style that only centers the text, without changing the font?  

I created a document about a month ago, a catalog, and placed PNG image files into image boxes for the layout. I opened the file back up today to do some edits and all the sudden InDesign tells me I have broken links. I investigate further to find that the images are located where they are supposed. I tried to "re-place" the png files into the boxes but InDesign doesn't recognize it and won't allow me to place it. For reference, I also tried to open in PS but it doesn't recognize it either, so I'm sure it's a file issue.Has anyone run across this and can you advise?

We're running 15.0.3, and were seeing strange issues where the AdobeFnt22.lst file is updated several times a minute for each open InDesign file.. enough that onedrive is effectively permanently updating. This did not appear to be an issue on Dropbox, and I can't reproduce the issue when the InDesign file is stored on a local, un-synced folder. What's particularly strange is that the file is being updated even when there is no activity in InDesign? My research says this file is updated when the font list is rescanned... but if the fonts aren't changing, and the InDesign file isn't changing.. What's triggering the rescan? Is there a way to disable it? Even temporarily so we can prove it's not the cause of the performance issue we're having? Thanks

I made an infographic in Indesign for our university magazine with a QR code to link to an interactive pdf. Nothing too complicated animation wise, simply buttons that you can click on to view different parts of the graphic. Hello!I hope someone has an idea, because I'm at my wits end. Yesterday I did an update of the CC client, which was retrospectively stupid, because it messed up one particular font I very much use, Roboto.The font isn't installed in the system, but put into ID's \Fonts folder. Until two days ago all was fine. After the update, which unfortunately activated Adobe Fonts by default, the Roboto font was shown as missing when I open ID. In the font list in ID's menu the symbol next to Roboto had changed from "TT" to a cloud symbol. Looking into the cloud client and the font management from Adone Fonts being still active, I saw that it conflicts with a Roboto font from Adobe. Same name, but not same font and more styles. So I removed Roboto from the manager, deactivated Adobe Fonts, deleted the Roboto font files from \Fonts, restarted ID and put them back again. After that it was OK for the moment and the symbol next to Roboto changed back to "TT". Today, the problem was back

Hey, i was just wondering if there is a file restriction size limit on the free trial of Adobe InDesign. I can open 10MB files but not 50MB files?

why when I align my paragraphs to grid does it align to every other line instead of every line? 

Hi Adobe Users,I am experiencing an issue with InDesign when exporting a package. The document has been set up with a 3mm bleed, but when I export it as a package, the resulting PDF does not include the bleed. When exporting a regular PDF, the bleed is correctly included. However, when using the Package feature, the generated PDF does not retain the bleed settings. I have verified that the bleed is correctly set in the document settings, but it seems to be ignored in the package export process. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello, dear community!I have a trouble running my scripts, using another script for it. They all work, when I run them manually, but some of them do not even start to run, when i use my script. I suppose that the problem should be in kyrylics. I am not 100% sure, but all the scripts are pretty similar and only the strings in GREP find/change change. The path is correct, the ecoding is UTF-8 (without BOM), the scripts without kyrylics run both ways and with it only manually. What is Adobe doing with all these silly little pop-up things that are getting my way, now its some glyph thing that just started showing up and I have been scouring posts to get to the bottom of this - there is no option in Type or Advanced Type settings to prevent this completely unnecessary popup from gettting in my way. Ligatures - why is this turned on by default? No client I have anywhere would ever want ligatures, maybe only the odd traditionally-typeset style book layout... this is ludicrous Adobe would force this on us. It should be an OPTION, not a MANDATORY TOOL. Every time I update I have to change this back and I have had some layouts go through with this crap starting up mid-project and it is a nightmare. Open Type - ask me if I care!!!!!!! So i started working on a history book in malayalam language. It consists of 3 volumes, the first book has 10 chapters and i've splitted into 10 files and used the book feature in indesign. Each chapter is about is about 40-50 pages with 2 column, justified text, and text wrap.My problem is it lags so much even in fast preview. It is frustrating to work and takes up alot of time. And i've attached my justification settings as well for reference. However, i've been finicking with justification setttings, if i don't use glyph scaling at all, it speeds up by alot.My question, how will i use this feature without affecting my performance, the glyph scaling plays a good chunk of my workflow. And i can't just turn it off and on everytime.

Hi Everyone,I have found series issue between Adobe Indesign 2023 and 2024 (MAC Version), I have a Adobe Indesign 2023 document with some outlined text and there will be applied some inner glow effects by using Indesign effect features. Now I have converted to Adobe Indesign 2024 instead of 2023, and created pdf with high quality preset. when I compare between 2023 exported pdf and 2024 exported pdf, I am finding some pixalated appearance issue in Acrobate. Here I have attached my Tested Indesign IDML file, could you please anyone let me know what are the actual issue. Note: I did not found this issue in Windows version of Adobe Indesign. Regards,Mani

Bonjour, un catalogue très important à planté à la fin de la création sur indesign avec le support EASYCATALOG, impossible d'ouvrir le document indesign source ou même de le convertir qu'importe les ordinateurs etc. Nous avons tout essayé, impossible de comprendre pourquoi ce fichier n'est plus ouvrable ni lisible. Pourtant sur IDMARKZ, le fichier apparait mais impossible de le télécharger en idml car il faut une licence. Ne comprenant pas cet énorme BUG d'adobe indesign je souhaiterai connaitre vos requêtes afin de récuperer ce fichier ultra important !!! Merci à vous 

Am I being dense about this? I've looked through all the help documentation, searched online in various forums, blogs, etc...I can't find anything about being able to autofit a table's column to fit its content.This type of thing is a piece of cake in Excel...just double-click the border between the cells and it'll autofit.But, in InDesign (as far as I can tell), it's an entirely manual process involving zooming in and manually adjusting the borders between cells until the red table cell overflow circle goes away.Not fun when you have a half dozen tables on a single page...and then eight additional pages with similar numbers of tables.Is there any solution to doing this? Hello,  I'm fairly new to indesign and am taking a class for it in college. however my teacher is wanting us to bring in two images and layer them on top of each other and apply effects to the top image in order to give the other image texture. The teacher is wanting us to apply a clipping mask so the top image (regardless of size) will only be applied to the bottom image. I tried to ask for guidance and his response was that if I could figure it out I would get extra credit. I have scoured google and the only way that I can find on how to do this would be to insert the first image (sizing it appropriatly) then make a shape the exact size of the first image and inset the second image into that. Is there any other way that I am missing?? I know that I could size the texture image to the same size as the first image, but I think the point is that if you have an image where you can't size it appropriatly you could just clip it down to the right size. Hi, I'm trying to create a table in InDesign, to create some cells deeper than 211 mm (I keep getting a notification that 'The value must be between 1.058mm and 211.667mm' ? I'm sure I've done this before, it seems a bit odd, any help appreciated. K

Depuis la dernière version Indesign, impossible de travailler dessus !Des que j'essaye de faire une action (changement de typo, déplacement de bloc, etc) Indesign "mouline" ! J'ai une configuration tout à fait correcte. J'ai été obligée de réinstaller la version 2024 pour travailler. Suis-je la seule dans ce cas ? 

This has happened before. When working with type in InDesign 19.3, I'm no longer able to invoke Align Center by pressing the default keys (macOS 14.4.1) Shift+Command+C . All other align text commands work as expected, but not Align Center. This problem appeared previously a few years ago, but I have no idea how I solved it.    (PS: Of course I checked Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts, but no problem here. I also checked the Finder Keyboard settings panel and again came up dry.)Scott
