Maybe I'm just inexperienced but trying to style and add rows/columns to tables feels like pulling teeth vs Microsoft Word for example. I'm aware they have different approaches and target users so it's not going to be 1:1 identical but does it feel a bit half-baked to you?     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello,J’utilise la suite Adobe depuis des années sur Mac sans souci, mais depuis mon passage sur les derniers MacBook Pro (Puce M1 Pro 2021), j’ai remarqué que mes fichiers s'exportent souvent en formats volumineux, même pour des bannières qui n'incluent pas d'images. J’essaie de compresser les images ou le PDF lors de l’export de mes fichiers IND et AI, mais la qualité en pâtit beaucoup. Si quelqu'un rencontre le même souci, je suis preneuse de conseils ! 🙂

When I have my panels-window set close to the right side of my screen and I click for example on the links-panel, it will open on the left side of the panels-window.   When I have my panels-window set locked to the right side of my screen (or however it is called) and I click on the links-pnale, it will open on the right side of the panels-window and disapear by half.   I'm getting very frustrated.   What do I have to do to fix this?         <Title renamed by MOD>

I have a very old file which I reuse every year to produce a catalgue. Probably 10 years old - its about 250 pages. Its been working fine until I updated to 2025. Now some text boxes and images are randomly disapearing.  Has anyone seen this before. I'm close to printing my cataluge so I can start from scratch. I've just been saving multply copies of my files. Some pages I don;t notice have missing elements until a few days later. Its awful.   <Title renamed by MOD>

I publish a weekly 4-page newsletter. The information changes, but the look is pretty much the same, so I wanted to spice it up by developing several different color palettes (each with its own swatches), and then applying them on a rotating basis. Is there an easy way of assigning those swatches, without spending time deleting colors and replacing them each time?      <Title renamed by MOD>

I started my Mac yesterday after a 2 week vacation, and one of the first things that happened was that ID v2025 was installed. Without my doing. I uninstalled it because I want to keep working with v2024 for the time being. Today, the same... I double clicked a Indesign file, and it opened in ID 2025 – the new version had been installed AGAIN in the background, without me initiating it or even knowing it...Where can I stop this behaviour?     <Title renamed by MOD>

Bonjour, voici un moment que je me casse la tête à trouver un moyen pour créer un espace après les miliers via une approche de 200 123456 > 123 456J'aimerais arriver à le faire via le grep dans un style de paragraphe et appliquer un style de caractère avec une apporche de 200 au 4e chiffre en partant de la droite. Cela me semblait assez simple à réaliser, sauf que ça fait des heures que je me casse la tête avec les forums à trouver une solution. Je veux utiliser des styles pour ne pas que le nombre qui vient d'une base de données soit changé par l'ajout d'espace etc, et devoir avoir des manipulations sur la data. Si vous avez une idée? MErci.Frederic

I know there have been posts about this but I can't dredge any up.   When I close a Book (INDB), InDesign insists on treating it as modified/converted file and a new name or a confirmation to overwrite the existing one. Has this always been the behavior? Is there a point to it, or is it simply an overlooked glitch in file handling?   (v20.1/Win11, but I've encountered it since at least v19.x. Don't recall the last time I worked with a Book project, so can't say if it occurred in any prior/less recent versions.)

Anybody came across this issue that seem to have affected installations of Indesign 6.03/6.04.  This is on an intel Mac with OSX 10.5.8. Strangely this issue does not affect a machine that has 10.5.6 and indesign 6.01"The network connection was lost for the file QualityAwardsProg09.indd, or the file was modified by another process."This was followed by:"Adobe InDesign is shutting down. A serious error was detected. Please restart InDesign to recover work in any unsaved InDesign documents."InDesign then shut itself down, and the error message came up:"QualityAwardsProg09.indd could not be found. Do you want to postpone it's recovery? Click yes to recover this document later. Click no to delete recovery data for this document. Dear all,   Due to issues with one of our employees' computers, Creative Cloud automatically updated the InDesign program from version 18.5 to the latest version 20. Reverting to the previous version through Creative Cloud is not possible (only version 19 is available).   Is there a way to reinstall version 18.5? This is important to us as everyone in the office is working on this version, and for certain reasons, we hadn’t planned on updating to a newer version.   Thank you in advance fot the informations.   <Title renamed by MOD>

Is there any way to duplicate pages but place them (duplicated pages) right after each other? When I try to duplicate any pages InDesign moves them at the end of my document. It's really annoying when you have 300 pages, I have to move them always manually. I need to add some new pages in the middle of my book. Any sollution?

Hallo, immer wenn ich ein Bild in den Hintergrund lege und mit Effekt/Transparenz eine Deckkraft von z.B. 40% definiere, werden unterbrochene feine Linien angezeigt. Sowohl im Bildschirmmodus normal, wie auch in Präsentation. Im Ausdruck ist alles ok. Wie bekomme ich die weg? Habe einen screenshot in den Anhang gegeben. Vielen Dank!

Hi all, We have a set of 9 c++ plugins developed for InDesign and I have updated them with the new SDK 20.0.0.95 version and tried using with InDesign 2025 (20.0). Out of 9 plugins, 2 of them give me the "Adobe Indesign does not recognise xxx as a valid plugin." error. They were working ok with the SDK 19 and InDesign 2024. These two plugins are doing some file related operations and uses boost libraries in the SDK. Can anyone think of a reason why this is happening?   Thank you.

The latest Adobe CC update deleted my InDesign 2023 automatically and I have no way to go back to install it again. I used it specifically to use an arabic calligraphy plugin called Tasmeem that I paid for over $1,000. I need help! This is very unprofessional from Adobe. I have many documents now that I can't even edit! or access!

Hello all,   I am trying to create a 3x3 layout into one spread within INDD, for creating an Instagram grid. I am finding the directions online unclear. I am using InDesign cs5.5. I am attempting to create a catalog with the data merge option. I am attempting to do a data merge from the Master Page. As you can see in the image, I have inserted my fields from the data source file. All images, original file, and data source file are in the same folder. I am inserting this info on the left sheet of the master file. When I select "Create Merged Document" the "select multiple records per page" is greyed out, however, there is plenty of room on the page for the 8 records I want it to show. See image below.After watching tutorials, reading, etc. I made sure that my document does not have facing pages. I deleted my "page 2" to avoid that conflict. I made sure that the placeholder "allows overwrite from the master". I also deleted my "cache"/settings" by doing "ctrl, alt, shift" when reopening the program. I read that it may be because the files need to be on the right hand sheet of the master, however, when I move my info to the right sheet, I

Sure, one always tends to change a couple of things at the same time: - Adobe updated InDesign to V20.0 - Logitech launched its Creative Console And I upgraded and would like to use both. Thing is: when I scroll in InDesign it seems InDesign tries to push the last scroll movement so that the page - or some point into the viewport. Which results into jerky last scroll-action. I had to install Logitech Options software which is doing a pretty good job but MacOS and Logitech scroll-settings and mouses havent been a good marriage in my persepcetive. So now I have got to a point where I use Logitech Options in combination with the Mos-plugin to a 90% satisfaction.   Scrolling works fine in Illustrataor as expected but Indesign behaves jerky; anyone else having this issue?     <Title renamed by MOD>  

Hi there,   I've updated to 2025 Indesign recently and my scaling objects and snap to centre of the canvas points just don't work anymore. The screen flickers between white and black when moving objects and generally just buggy. Any help please?   Even drawing a text box to the width of a rectangle doesn't work? Hi,I am trying to get vertical text (ie letters underneath each other) in my new CC version of InDesign. All the help pages say to use the vertical type tool, but I can't find this - I only have the Type Tool and Type on a path tool showing. I can't find the option in Object file menu to change to a frame grid either....Help would be greatly appreciated!! I only use InDesign about once a year for a project so do find I'm having to re-learn it - but usually can get by with help..not this time CheersRachel

I have some strange color rendering / color management issue with InDesign. All colors within the document and UI are dull and desaturated and don't respond to any color settings. The colors within the color picker and in all exported files are perfectly fine. The screen is calibrated and properly color managed. The issue is only appearing in InDesign, not in any other program. What I have tried so far:   Reinstalled InDesign, tried different versions Created new document using a web preset (probably doesn't matter, but still tried) Added just one single square, no images, no copy-pasting from other documents Colored the square using an RGB color swatch Working space set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 Transparency blend space set to RGB Proof colors turned off Overprint preview turned off Additional manual conversion to sRGB color profile Reset Windows color profiles    Specs:  Windows 11 23H2 InDesign Version 20.0. I've been having this problem for quite a long time, and can't seem to get rid of it. Ctrl-shift-B, the shortcut to apply bold to text, automatically defaults to applying semibold when it is available. Most of the time, I just want the text to be bold, and not semibold, so I have to change it manually. This is very frustrating, because I can't seem to find a way to change this default. The Keyboard Shortcuts just says that Ctrl-shift-B applies Bold, and while this is the case when there's no semibold installed, it's still very annoying when it is installed.   How do I fix this?
