I cannot find a forum post with this topic.   This is the PDF output of markdown from Obsidian note-taking software showing the default styling for hashtags that link search terms or notes together accross notes.   Is there anyway to make a style for this in indesign? Character style underline/strikethrough does not have a rounded corner option, and paragraph rules go accross the whole paragraph.   -------------------------------     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hey gang, While experimenting with asking the (Artificial Intelligence) Text to Image (Beta) to generate images into graphic frames, we have experienced this: After saving, closing, and re-opening an InDesign document, we found that some of the graphic frames were now empty of any AI-generated content. They vanished. Has anyone else experienced that?

Hello all, I would love some help on an issue I've been having recently.  In both InDesign and Illustrator, I make banners for work. When I go to export, these are my normal settings I use: The issue is, it is coming out at the correct dimensions, but is extremly blurry. When I up the resolution to 300 but keep everything else the same, the image looks crytal clear. For example, this is 700x200, 72dpi; which exports to exactly 700x200.Then the below is 700x200, exported with 300dpi, which changes the final image to 2917 × 833....(sized down to fit in this box)They are both attached as well. Does anyone know how I can fix this??Thanks in advance!!

I am processing a textbook that has a formatting situation I've never had to deal with in bulk  — multiple endnote references in a row. I've  encountered books with the occasional twofer, and those are easy enough to spot and adjust during normal formatting, but this book has a dozen or more per chapter, and for all reasons of efficiency and consistency I'd like to automate the process.   Here's a typical clip—   The text style is BODY and may be one of several variants.   The endnote style REFS is applied by the Endnote setup of the document, which puts all elements in the style (i.e., leaves the reference marker Normal, not superscripted). It can be assumed that there will be two to five markers in a row, with a comma but no spaces between them. I have been working with indesign for almost 20 years.But suddenly I can no longer write in indesign.   No matter whether I press Enter, Return, or these combined with Shift, I always get a page break instead of a column break. But if you look at the key assignment, Return is correctly set for column break. So, what can I do? ps:I can write normally in other programs.I only have this problem with indesign (current version).     <Title renamed by MOD>    

I'm getting a continuous beach ball when launching InDesign on my iMac (OS 13.6.9 and up to date). It keeps spinning for hours and the only way out of it is to force quit the program.   I've uninstalled and reinstalled Creative Cloud and all of my Adobe apps but it still keeps happening. I've also tried the other solutions suggested online but to no avail.   The computer is running smoothly. I work on files in Google Drive but that has worked without any problems in the past.   Any ideas as to what could be wrong.     <Title renamed by MOD>

"I'm developing an InDesign plugin using C++. I have a panel, and I want to dynamically set different font families, font colors, and font sizes for the controls on the panel, such as EVEStaticTextWidget, EVEButtonWidget, and others. I couldn't find any information on this in the SDK documentation, and there are no relevant examples in the sample code. Does the SDK itself not support this? Does anyone know how to do this?"  

a printer wants me to convert all rgb files to cmyk using his profile = GRACoL2013_CRPC6.icc i placed it where he wants it on my computer but it doesn't appear on the profile list drop down menu. i'm on a mac studio latest os and using indd 2024. thank you ahead of time.     <Title renamed by MOD>

What is the status of this "problem"? From what I remember - it wasn't "working" as expected?  

These random horizontal lines have appeared in my InDesign project, and I can't get rid of them. They seem to only be in the grey boxes I've made using the Rectangle Tool - these are black, with the opacity lowered to 20%.I've tried changing the colour and the opacity. The lines change colour to match the colour selected for the boxes, but when the opacity is at 100% I don't notice the lines.I've tried turning off all the different grids and guides and also turned off anti-aliasing, but had no luck. The screenshot is taken when in Preview Screen Mode. Does anybody know how to get rid of these and what's causing them?

How can I have both english and Hebrew text written correctly? I tried all paragraph composers but none get both written properly. Either Hebrew comes out left to right or english from right to left.   <Title renamed by moderator>    

In InDesign, I’m using the GREP expression (?<=.)/(?=.) to locate all occurrences of the slash character / throughout a document. For example, I want to find the character / in Color/Colour or American English/British English in order to apply a certain styling to the slash. As a next step, I want to limit this to all words/strings that do not begin with either https, https or www, so the slashes in https://usa.gov/about or www.gov.uk/about should not be included in the results. Lone slashes should be ignored. How can this be achieved? I have managed to find all words/strings that begin with either http or www with \<www|\<http, however, I’m not able to combine the two. I’ve tried the following, based on an answer to my question on Stack Overflow (https://stackoverflow.com/a/78494627/3103254), which should work with the boost regex engine InDesign GREP is using (https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/grep-what-is-the-base-syntax-of-indesign-grep/td-

Hello everyone !During a training exercise, I classified the pages of a magazine by color code (colored bookmarks under each page) to make it easier to find in the pages panel. I don't remember at all how I did this. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance !Barbara

I always try to include a graphic illustrating my issue, so...   My goal is to stretch and compress the same image where indicated.   The stretch parts are easy: Highlight the image. Go to Properties. With the proportional Horizontal and Vertical percentages linked, adjust the percentage of either vector as necessary. Unclick image. Save.   Now, the issue is that I also want to compress the image where indicated. The area where I want to use the image has lots of space on the horizontal and vertical edges, but at the 45° angle, not so much space.   Another way of putting it: Stretch the ends, pinch the center. Not sure what I did but now whenever I open a new ID doc, there are no rulers. I tried quitting, rebooting app, make sure rulers are on. Type a sentence. Save. When I open a new doc, no rulers. How do I get a new doc to open with rulers? I know it's something basic but I'm having a brain freeze and google only returns "how to use rules and guides" which doesn't answer my question.

I'm working with an older document that somehow has acquired a shortcut such that when you are typing in a text box and want to type the letter "e" it switches to the next character style rather than outputting an "e". This behavior doesn't apply to other in design documents or other applications, so I know it's not a keyboard issue or a problem with the general shortcuts in InDesign preferences.  At some point in the history of this document, the "e" key must have been assigned as a shortcut somewhere local to the document, but I can't find it.  I've checked all the character and paragraph styles, and none have any shortcuts.  I'm stumped.  Any ideas as to where else I can look to disable this infuriating shortcut would be much appreciated!  I'm halfway made up my mind to just recreate the document from scratch, but I thought I'd make one last attempt to stomp this bug if anyone has any suggestions.     <Title renamed by MOD>

I am working with an InDesign book style and am still adding and changing styles in the book. When I synchronize styles I have search, but not found,  two features I need: I would like the whole Object Styles panel so synchronize, i.e. also the order and grouping, is this possible?   My second issue with using the synchronize funtion: If I have added or changed styles in another document than the Style Source (I understand that this is not ideal, but sometimes I forget myself. Is there a setting where InDesign warns me if I have created a style in another book document that is not being synchronised across?     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi, I'm trying to add swatches to my CC Library, but it doesn't work. I tried to drag and drop the swatches from Swatches to CC Libraries, but nothing happens. Running on InDesign version 18.5. x64.

I am editing a 200 page book using ID 19.5 and I'm on Windows 11. I really thought I had mastered deleting pages but now I find it's not working as I expect. I have 'Allow Shuffling' turned off for both document and selected spread. I then try to delete Page 7 but it leaves Page 6 as an orphan whereas I'm expecting the previous Page 8, now Page 7, to come up and join Page 6 as a double page spread, with the other pages changing to conform. I've tried checking 'Allow spreads' severally and together but that only makes things worse so I hastily pressed Ctrl-Z. I've tried deleting the page using the Delete Selected Pages icon and with the dropdown menu Delete Page option but I get the same result. I suspect it may be because  my Page 6 is the last page of the 'front matter' (the old deleted Page 7 was blank which is why I wanted to delete it.) and not threaded like the rest of the book which starts immediately afterwards. I have searched Google and these pages and found nothing that

Wäre es nicht sinnvoll das Bezugspunktesystemanalog zur Drehung eines Objektes darzustellen?Ich habe mich bei diesem Objekt gewundertweshalb die Länge sich nicht nach rechts ausdehnt,wenn ich den linken Bezugspunkt gewählt habeund den numerischen Wert ändere.Bin zwar recht schnell darauf gekommen, dass esmit der Drehung zusammenhängt, verstehe abernicht warum das Bezugspunktesystem sich nichtmitdreht.  

Bonjour,Depuis la réinstallation complète de mon Mac, je rencontre un bug étrange dans Indesign ( dernière version ). Dès que j'essaye de sélectionner un objet dans un document, il y a un léger décalage une fois l'objet sélectionné. C'est extrêmement handicapant, car cela empêche toute précision.J'ai évidemment testé dans d'autres applications sans pouvoir reproduire le bug, et même avec d'autres souris, le problème persiste.Si je fais Controle+Z, je reviens bien à la position initiale Merci de votre aide si quelqu'un  à eu le même problème ?
