Questions

I am setting up a new Mac Mini M4 Pro.  My old iMac is a late-2015 Intel chip and I have been advised to do a 'clean install' to avoid bringing over any Intel problems.  When I set up the new Mac, I will need to download a new version of Creative Cloud.  I assume it will install Lightroom v14 (or later).  My current Lr catalogue is 13.3.  When I transfer the old catalogue over to the new Mac (with a newer version of Lightroom) will the old catalogue still work; or will it be automatically updated; or will there be a disconnect that will cause me a problem?

Katalogdateien sind lokal auf dem Mac gespeichert, die Bilder habe ich auf einem Netzwerkpfad liegen.Jetzt zeigt sich folgendes Verhalten:Beim Öffnen von LC werden die letzten Bilder angezeigt (Vorschau?) zusammen mit der Meldung "Datei nicht gefunden". Öffne ich jetzt den Finder und navigiere hier einmal auf das entsprechende Netzwerklaufwerk (einfach nur durchklicken) und kehre zu LC zurück verschwindet die Meldung und ich kann die Bilder in voller Auflösung sehen.Schließe ich nun LC und starte es wieder ist immer noch alles okay.Wird der Mac neugestartet tritt das Problem wieder auf. Es scheint so (ACHTUNG! Gefährliches Halbwissen) als ob LC nach Neustart des System nicht weiß wo die Bilder/Dateien liegen bzw. nicht darauf zugreifen kann (oder käme dann eine andere FM?)...LC besitzt Festplattenvollzugriff...Liegt das evtl. daran das der Katalog an einem anderen Speicherort liegt als die Bilder?

My aged pc has stopped functioning, and I am in the process of buying a new one.  How do I install my current Adobe plan - Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, etc - on the new pc so I keep the existing plan's terms and billing, and presets and preferences.  I am not worried about my photos; they have already been saved elsewhere.  With my old pc not working, I'm not sure which versions of Lightroom Classic and Photoshop I have, but they have been regularly updated since 2015.  Queries about switching to a new pc should be pretty common, but in the ocean of information one has to know the terminology and how to ask.  Thanks.  

After updating to Lightroom Classic v14.0 today, the "Previous" button is not working properly. The details are as follows:In Develop mode, turn Caps Lock on.After finishing editing one picture, press 3 to set the rating to 3 stars, then automatically move to the next picture.At this point, clicking the "Previous" button should apply the previous settings to the current picture, but it doesn't.Does anyone know how to fix this bug?   Thanks!

The LR upgrade also upgraded my catalogs (2). Now, when I boot, I have 8 catalogs to choose from - the two current ones and 6 old ones from when LR has done this in the past. The catalogs are not too big but I would like to at least get them out of the startup menu. Can the old ones be deleted now that the updated one is in force.

Why it takes much time to copy and import photos in lightroom classic for an album, even to start?i don't get it.

     I have a Mac desktop that I have been using for Lightroon  Classic. I now have a Macbook that I will be using s well when away from my desktop. The big issue for me is the question of the catalog on the Macbook. Can I use the same catalog on BOTH computers? I would have to get the Lrcat files on to the new computer I know, and to start with, I will NOT need to bring over previous photos from the desktop. I would be starting on the Macbook with new photos. With that in mind, after getting my NEW photos on to the Macbook by importing from an external (either a thumb drive or other small portable external drive), can I edit , then when back at desktop, import to the desktop LRC having fully or partially edited  the photos? Ill probaby have more questions re the catalog after. Thank you in advance- Jeremy.  

I have a product key for Lightroom 5.7. Where can I register my product? On the adobe website when I try it shows me that the key doesn't work. I'm 100% sure that the key is not used. Or where do I download lightroom 5.7

In the updated FAQ for LrC 14.3 it states "Syncing between Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop isn't recommended", see the screen capture. Is this specific to when both applications are on the same computer or does the recommendation also apply when on separate computers?  

I've been having an issue where my desoised, DNG, images don't appear in my catalogs after returning to lightroom. For example: I denoise and create a number of new DNG images while editing, they all appear in the catalog where I created them, I shut lightroom down for the day, and when I return the DNG files are no longer in the catalog. I have to go to "all photographs" and pull them into the catalog manually.  For troubleshooting's sake I have ensured there are no filters on and none of these catalogs are "smart." I also don't "stack" the images. After pulling them images back into the catalog the number of images changes, which is an additional idicator that the images left the catalog altogether.  While this isn't a huge deal, it does negatively affect workflow and is a time consuming process for somthing that should be automatic. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Bonjour,J'importe mes photos via les cartes sd de mes appareils photo vers mon NAS et LRC V13-5. Le dossier de mon NAS n'a jamais changé depuis que j'utilise LR. J'importe parfois de mon NAS vers LRC (cataloguage).LRC m'a créé 3 dossiers différents dans mon catalogue pour toutes mes photos (voir capture ci-jointe). Les 30609 photos sont réparties en 3 dossiers :-  photo(DISKSTATION)(Z:) : 852 photos- \\Diskstation\photo\ : 260 photos- DISKSTATION\photo : 29497 photosCette situation ne m'empêche pas de retrouver par mon clés mes photos mais, puis-je agréger ces 3 dossiers en un seul ? Comment ? Je pensais pouvoir déplacer des fichier d'un dossier à l'autre et supprimer les dossiers vidées mais ça ne semble pas possible.Merci pour vos réponses.Cordialement.Pilgrim

Hi all,Adobe has announced, that LRclassic is now quicker to work with.Up to a point I can confirm this, but here's the thing.I am editing a couple of hundred files with very similar material and have created 1:1 peviews beforehand.Now when I scroll through them in the develop module, the files open but change appearance after about 4 seconds. They don't do this in library, but only in develop. Very annoying. What's the use of creating 1:1 previews, if I have to wait each time I open them while editing. In this way it is very tiring to compare pics that are very similar as i have to wait for one to open, asess it, then switch to the next one, wait for that to open, then switch back to the former, look at it again and only then can i compare it to the next one properly.Can anybody shed a light on this?cheersZLRclassic 14.1.1Macos sequoia 15.2

I have 3000+ bird photos that I "tagged" for searching prior to using LrC. Since I was not using any sophisticated photo processing tool like LrC, I had no way of easily adding metadata like keywords. I devised a file naming scheme that served my searching needs; it included a species name (a standard 4-letter abbreviation) and some aspects of the photo, e.g., gender, plumage, etc.  Now that I've moved to LrC, I am using keywords for the same searching needs. However, I still have those 3000+ photos imported into LrC and they have no keywords at all. I have been happily using Adobe Creative Cloud and Lightroom Classsic for years to support my journalism sideline and photography endeavours.My main editing machine is a powerful Windows desktop gaming PC running Windows 10, Intel 13700K and AMD 6800XT graphics using a variety of very fast drives.  I have had no problems for years but I've just fired up Lightroom Classic and had a warning that it needs to update to continue syncing with the cloud. That takes me to another page which then says my Lightroom is up to date. To be honest I don't really care about the syncing with the cloud so I thought little of it and started editing some pics I need for my next article.Lightroom classic began crashing repeatedly to desktop and just closing down when I use the healing brush. I then checked which version I am on and it's the v12.3 release. I thought it would be worth upgrading so I went to Adobe Creative Cloud which shows v14 is the latest available. It says I can install that but it's

Lightroom wont open after trying to launch corrupt catalog. Restarted my computer and tried a couple more times. Now it gets stuck wont open and a black bar appears on computer screen saying Lightroom-Opening Catalog: Lightroom Catalog.zip How do I fix this?

Hallo!Am 27.11.24 bin ich von PC auf den Mac umgezogen. (möglicher Grund für den folgenden Fehler?)Vor 2 Wochen fiel mir dann auf, dass alle KI-Bearbeitungen meiner gesamten Bibliothek fehlen. Ich kann jedes Bild einzeln in "Maskierungen" und "Entfernen" manuell aktualisieren. Dann ist auch alles so, wie ich es bearbeitet habe. Aber wenn ich LR neu starte ist wieder alles weg. Wenn ich einen Teil meiner Fotos markiere und "KI-Einstellungen aktualisieren" drücke, sieht das mit dem Bearbearbeitungsbalken zwar kurz super aus, funktioniert aber leider gar nicht - es werden die manuellen Aktualisierungen sogar wieder entfernt, alles auf Anfang. Wenn ich alle (also über 1000) Fotos markieren und ihn aktualisieren lasse, dann gibt es am Ende auch eine Fehlermeldung, dass der Vorgang nicht abgeschlossen werden konnte.Aktuellstes Update ist installiert.Was kann ich tun? Da das manuelle Aktualisieren den gewollten Stand kurz zurückbringt, habe ich erst mal die Hoffnung, dass sich dies dauer

When I export book to PDF I get two PDFs, one of the cover and the other is the rest of the book. How do I get only one PDF of the entire book? 

Hello, Running Lightroom Classic 14.0.1 on Windows 10 Family Build 19045.5011. In developement mode when I a subject mask I have a window that pop up for few seconds and disappears. I currently have a 2019 i7 16gb MacBook pro. I need to upgrade as this is getting on a bit now and running denoise AI is taking roughly 7 mins on a 85mb raw image. ( 42mp Sony a7R iii )  I'm torn between getting another MacBook pro, Air  or Mac mini with a M1 / M2 chip & 16gb ram. Would this be a big time improvement to run denoise AI ? I would potentially be open to windows options too if the money is right.  Any information would be greatfully received.  Many thanks  

Hello brains trust, Re Windows 11. Lightroom Classic. I upgraded (I assume form v13-3) to v13-5.1 and when i opened it, it said i had the following error: 'Local Sync database damaged' and told me how to fix it..... well i did as instructed - https://helpx.adobe.com/au/lightroom-classic/kb/local-sync-database.html?trackingid=W6K8JK3M&mv=in-product  - and when i re opened lightroom classic it opened a new catalogue. It also is now syncing my icloud (iphone photos), which it has never done before, and it will take forever, its about half way and has been going for a few hours now. All the 'collections' i had seem to be synced, and when i click on an image in the collections and then click 'go to folder in library' (from one of the collection photos) it takes me to a Folder called 'Other Lightroom Device' and sub folder 'Imported Photos'. Did not have this folder listed on previous version, and all of the collection photos came from the previous library. All original photo

Bonjour,J'ai un Fujifilm X-PRO2 qui me permet de réaliser un bracketing d'ISO, c'est à dire décliner une image avec une valeur ISO en dessous et au dessus. Ce qui me donne 3 images raw, une correctement exposée, une sous-exposée et une sur-exposée. Lorsque j'importe ces images sur LR Classic (j'ai la dernière version), elles apparaissent normalement pendant quelques secondes puis, les images sur-ex et sous-ex changent d'aspects et se retrouvent avec la même exposition que celle qui est correctement exposé à la base. Cela me donne 3 images prisent avec des ISOS différents qui ont exactement la même exposition ce qui n'a aucun interêt. Sur le finder, elles apparaissent pourtant correctement. Lorsque je les importe sur Capture One par exemple je n'ai pas ce problème.Je précise que je n'ai pas de pré-réglage à l'importation sur Lightroom, il s'agit des fichiers bruts.

Just upgraded today to the newest version of LR Classic and I notice that along with the Previews.lrdata file there is now a Helper.lrdata file. Anyone know what this file does? Is it important to keep it backed up? Or will it just re-create if deleted like the Previews.lrdata file?

Je voulais savoir comment je pourrais faire pour réussir à déplacer des photos déjà importées dans LRCC dans des dossiers classés par date comme je réussi à le faire lorsque j'importe des photos depuis ma carte SD.  Depuis ma carte SD je choisi de classer par date toutes mes photos dans le catalogue puis de les ranger par types/occasion dans des collections, mais maintenant je voudrais que les photos qui étaient sur le cloud, sur LR sur mon iPad, puissent être rangées de cette façon.. Le problème est que j'ai réussi à envoyer ces photos du cloud à mon catalogue, mais elles sont toutes dans le même dossier et je n'ai aucun autre moyens que de tout classer manuellement. C'est pour moi un problème qui sera assez récurrent puisque lorsque je voyage je prend uniquement mon iPad, et importe les photos dessus, mais je voudrais en retrouvant mon ordianteur pouvoir envoyer les photos dans mon catalogue LR, par date, comme si j'avais fait l'importation depuis ma carte SD.&nbs
