Questions

First of all, here's my setup. Raw images are shot using a Canon EOS 60D and Canon EOS Utility 2 into a folder called "incoming" which sits at the top level of my Windows user's Pictures folder. Lightroom Classic is then configured to move these to a folder called Auto Imported Photos, located within at the top level of my user's OneDrive Pictures folder.  Most of the time, these images are imported into Lightroom correctly. However, perhaps one in every 10-20 shots or so are imported but then *instantly* given a "photo is missing" flag, even though the file in question exists on the hard drive exactly where Lightroom says it is, and is non-corrupted. Although it's only one in 10-20 shots or so that are affected, the problem sometimes happens much more frequently. For example, I just shot the same image four times in a row, and all four attempts to shoot the image were failures, leaving four stray files in the folder Lightroom imported them to and four half-imported-but-

I upload the raw files from my camera, pass them through Topaz Photo AI and then start editing.  At the end of the Process I rename all my files in the format YYYYMMDD_Band_Venue_(Number).  REcenlty I am having iussues where Lightroom loses track of the new file name, and shows the file as missing in the catalogue.  When I go to locate the file, I have to look for the original  filename, eg 780_0123.dng, link to that file and then change the name.  Any ideas or suggestions? (Other than name the files at the start of the process)

I'm new to Lightroom and photography in general and would like to learn more, so I downloaded Lightroom and imported a RAW bird picture from my Nikon D850 to play with denoise and other things. I was shocked to see the estimated  denoise time to be 58 minutes and fear that my PC may not be up to the task (graphics card?). I performed the copy from LR help which is attached. I am unable to load them because Apple progressedbeyond that capability. I need something updated, according to the error msg. I cannot find this informaton on the Apple site or the Adobe site. ???

I cancelled my Creative Cloud subscription and I want to switch to a Lightroom-Subscription only. How can I transfer all my photos and albums from my current Lightroom to the new one? Or will it be the same? Thanks.

My system is following 1. PC Windows Desktop (LR Classic)2. iPhone & iPad (LR Mobile)3. Macbook (LR Classic) I have been worked with "1.LR Classic in PC" and "2.LR Mobile".They were synced with no problems. However, when I tried to set up the thrid system, 3.Macbook, files are all messed up in the LR C in Macbook. I have tons of files and some of them have same name.Such as, There is a file with name of ABC0123.DNG in Collection [A]. And There is a different photo but the same name of ABC0123.DNG in Collection [B]. (This happens because my camera reset the counting number) No problems with 1.PC and 2.Mobile.But after I installed LR Classic in Macbook and tried to sync files, ABC0123.DNG photo in Collection [A] is changed to ABC0123.DNG in Collection [B]. Is there any solution for this problem?

Searches show this topic has been discussed before, so apologies, but I'm not seeing anything definitive and if anything the answers seem a bit contradictory.Until this week I have been using Affinity Photo 2 to edit my RAW images and when I export a file it is 300 DPI with a typical file size around 20 MB. I've just switched to Lightroom Classic and am learning my way round it. When I export the very same RAW image it yields a 96 DPI and the file size is only around 7 MB - both values suggest it is a less detailed image. When exporting in Lightroom, the 'image sizing' box seemingly let's you change 'resolution' in pixels per inch or cm, but there's no mention of DPI. I've seen people say there is no difference between PPI or DPI but the file sizes suggests there must be? As someone who prints their photos and doesn't put them online, I wanted to get to the bottom of it.I don't want to spend a long time editing many RAW images to then realise at the end that I'll only ha

I have never used Lightroom but got it when I purchaed a PS license.  I see lots of posts about disk space problems but none that describe what causes these problems. I have 19K images filed as I like them in a bunch of folders.  I see on Lighhtroom that I can import without moving.  BUT, I do not want to duplicate the files as they already take up a fair amount of disk space.  Does the catalog simply build a DB of pointers to the files where they are or will it create copies, effectively doubling my disk use? I am using LR Classic on Windows 11.  All image files (that I want to catalog) are in my One Drive Pictures folder.  

When I am editing my photos after awhile of editing 2 things will happen. One is that the Adjustment knobs on any setting will slide but wont change anything on the photo. Or what will happen is the edits are made but it exports it without the edits. And it's really weird and odd to work with. The second issue is the photo will just turn black. It just decides to turn into a black square. This is super irritating I haven't changed any settings or done anything different please help I actually can't get any work done!!!!!!! I attached a photo showing you this very weird issue. you can see that in the top left photo it's got blue on the bike. However in the main photo area it's purple. I have been asked by a local store to make postcards and note cards of my local photography. I thought postcards would be easy and I have mocked up a custom print job creating 4 cells 4.25x5.5. Dropping images in them, the images do not conform to the cells, but with a little work I can get them close. How can I get the images to adhere to the 4.25x5.5 format? Or maybe I need to use other paper. At this point all my work is in draft.

Where in metadata (which tag) can I find the people names added in Lightroom Classic People View? I'm starting to think that I have spend huge amount of time of putting in these names for these athletes and it seems that they are not implemented in any reusable way in the metadata so that I could now batch edit the metadata to fit certain requirements (that want me to put the name in specific place in the caption). Instead of putting these names in [PersonShown] tag which would be intuitive and reusable, they just go inside [Keywords] where I can not find or use the names in metadata batch editors.I also noticed that in the initial catalog these keywords (names) still have People-attribute but after adding them to my archive catalog, this information seems to be gone as well. Please tell me I'm wrong and there is a way to find these names in specific unique metadata tag. I'm in Win11 with LrC 13.5.1 with Sony arw and export them to jpeg with 'All metadata' but it se

Since upgrading to 14.0.1 I am getting an error message when attmempting to create a new SmugMug gallery.The message says try again or contact support.I was able to get around the problem by first creating the new gallery on my SmugMug site.  I could then edit the gallery in LR and upload photos.

I spent over an hour chatting with tech support. He could not explain why this happened or how to avoid it or prevent it from happening again. I had set up auto update and have now disabled it. Has anyone else experienced this? Or have any ideas about why this happened? Has it happened to you?

  I want to use a Samsung T7 external SSD with LrC.  That works.  My question is - can I use alonger cable between the T7 and the computer.  And if yes - how long?  Six Feet?  As long asthe cable is USB-C to USB-C and 3.2 rated?  Will a longer cable make a noticeable differencein terms of speed?                                           - Thanks ... Hi all,   I have LIghtroom Classic and for a number of months it seemed to be verry slow to respond.  It's excruciatingly slow for everything.  I noticed I was high on my computer RAM but I fixed that and it is still an issue so it's definetely LRc.  I've seen a few other topics close to this but no solutions specifically.  What happened?  I am using 14.01

"unable to merge the photos.Please cancel and review your selection" I use:  LR CC, last version, Mac OS 2024. CANON R5 (HDR mode 3 pictures: -2, 0 , +2). What I do?    

Not sure if this is a bug, recently updated to Lightroom Classic 14.0.1 release, running Windows 11 Home 23H2 build 22631,4317 with 2 monitors both in 4k mode. 64GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 2070 Super, AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Edits on the main screen do not show up on the 2nd screen (which they did on all previous lightroom version) Second monitor has Show, Full Screen and Loupe - Normal ticked. If I move the mouse over to the second screen after making amendments on the main screen  the image on the second screen changes to an all black image  the remainder of the loupe screen is there but the image is now completely black.

Hello.I have been searching troubleshooting steps because I no longer have any video features available in Lrc 14.01. I select a video in Library grid view and it displays as if a jpeg in the windows. When I click on it - it either zooms in or zooms out, no video options at all.Very few similar issues found for Windows in searches.A tried typical troubleshooting step of uninstalling all the C++ apps, rebooting and reinstalling them - did not work.I tried deleting the Video cache a few diferent ways - did not work.I uninstalled and reinstalled Lrc via the Cloud app. did not work.Yet when I pass my mouse back and forth over the video in grid view - it shows the video in motion. Ideas?Thank-you

When I am in the ‘Folder’ area in LightRoom classic, I see the number of 26 images behind a folder. When I go to the Finder, around 300 images are displayed.If I now synchronise the folder, LightRoom recognises that approx. 274 images need to be added. These are all CR3 files with an associated XMP file.When I start the synchronisation, I get the message that LightRoom has not found any images to import. Surely the images should be imported?Apple MacBook Pro M2, 15.0.1 SequoiaLightRoom Classic Version 14.0.1What is the reason for this and how can I fix it?Many thanksStefan

I have two hard drives in my computer, both are full. I now want to move folders from the internal drives to an external drive, when I try to do so, it simply move one image not the whole folder
