It would be helpful to have a keyboard shortcut for Auto-Stack by Capture Time. I use that feature very frequently and it would save time to have a shortcut, if that's possible. {Moved from Lightroom Cloud to Lightroom Classic Forum by Moderator}
I export a photo, enabling Content Credentials attached to the export. If I then extract the thumbnail, it turns out to have hundreds of lines of EXIF data including at least the camera and time/date. First of all, there's an issue as to whether that EXIF actually adds value, but more important, it's not hard to think of occasions where I might want to attach provenance to a photo but not disclose further details. I regard this as a serious privacy vulnerability. [moved from bugs to discussions according to the community rules - Mod.]
I cannot open a compressed backup file of the catalog. The message says that it cannot find the lrcat-data. But they stand side by side in their folder.
I moved folders to a new hard drive by copying and pasting using OS (Mac). Then I selected "update folder location" in LR and chose the appropriate folder on the new hard drive. The folders disappeared from the old hard drive but were nowhere to be found in the list of folders on the new drive. The images seem to be there somewhere because they cannot be imported.I would be grateful for advice as how the missing folders can be found.
I am a new Lightroom user, watching a Youtube video, I imported 4096 jpg images into LR, and it has choked. It is unable to display the images in the Library. I run a Macbook Pro with 16 Mb of RAM and 400Mb free on disk. I have tried deleting perviews.lrcat, to no change. I do not know what to do now.
Since the update, Lightroom Classic is so slow as to be almost unusable. It can take up to 10 seconds to get a reaction. I have a 10 core i9, 64 GB Ram, everything is on SSD.Culling of photos is almost impossible, working with the catalog as well. Any ideas? I hope it concerns enough people to warrant a fix from Adobe. LrC is using huge amount of application memory, even when the app is only open and I'm not using it. According to the Acitivty Monitor it is currently using 233 GB while I'm not using it. It results in warning messages that I'm running our of application memory and it has also resulted in a crash. I've seen that there are also other users experiencing the same (or similar) issue. However, so far I have not found a solution. I should stress my knowledge of computers is quite limited. Usually I manage to resolve software issues with a search online, but so far I haven't. The only practical solution now is to close LrC and restart, but I did not have this issue before and would think there must be something wrong that can be resolved? Is there anyone who knows how to solve this issue or where to find guidance solving this issue? - Mac Studio- Apple M2 Max- 64 GB- Sonoma 14.6.1- LrC 13.5 Lightroom Classic version: 13.5 [ 202408062022-6258095b ]License: Creative Clo
Due to technical issues, I have only one copy of many of my images - on my laptop hard drive. I want to copy these onto 2 separate external hard drives (and ultimately remove them from my laptop). I do not want to risk losing the images completely by moving them without first copying them. What is the best way of doing this in lightroom please?
I would love to tether my camera to my macbook however i seem to keep hitting a brick wall. all the turorials online dont seem to help. I have a sony a7r3 and a macbook pro. Any help would be gratefully recieved.

If I have starred my selection to edit in Lightroom and filter my selection by the star rating and then run denoise, after denoise completes the filtering is turned off and the full filmstrip expands. There's, however, little indication that filtering has been turned off. So if I advance after running denoise then I advance to a photo I have not starred and I waste time editing a photo I had not previously selected. Eventually I realize that it's not a photo I want and see that the filters have turn off. This is so poorly implemented. To continue working on the correctly starred photos, I must interrupt the editing I'm doing and reenable the star filters. There's no reason for disabling the filters when running denoise. Just put the old photo behind the new one as a stack and leave it at that. Please rework Lightroom's behavior so it stops disabling filters after running denoise.
I've been having problems with Lightroom Classic for about a month now and the problem is getting worse to the point where I can't edit anything because I can't even see my photo's now. Everything is greyed out. The library is loading no prob and it doesn't say "can't find file" if it's lost the file or library. It was crashing when I opened it and I tried the shift+option and that is now allowing me to open the app but I can't see any pics and it crashes when I try to do anything like export one of the greyed photo's or try and change any settings. It's very strange and seems to be going wrong in every way with lots and lots of lagging and crashing. That's how this started a month ago. I'm totally stumped. OS & Lighrtoom CC both up to date. Really appreciate any suggestions! OS Sequia 15.0.1. Lightroom 14.0.1. [moved from bugs to discussions according to the community rules - Mod.]
HELP PLEASE: I use an external hard disc to store my photos. I label and date them and create files: RAW, CULLED, LR-CATALOG AND FULL GALLERY.I have the RAW, and CULLED Photos on the hard drive. I just finished editing 800 photos in LRC but before I transferred them I noticed an update for LRC, so I quit LRC and did the update. When I went back into LRC to transfer my photos it says on all of the photos that "original file cannot be found". I. have tried many things and so far have had no luck at finding my edited photos. I am so upset and cannot imagine having to redo all the edits on 800 photos again.Thank you for your thoughts or suggestions.
Any idea how to update ALL of my AI masks at once? I have thousands of images that need updated masks. The Library>Develop Settings>Update AI Settings only updates 1 image (which makes it utterly useless). I've already had to reprint albums because the exported files did not have the AI masks applied. I do realize others have posted about this, just hoping a new thread might reveal an actual solution. TIA!
Hello, I wanted to connect my Sony camera directly to Lightroom Classic but it has been impossible, I have done everything and I don't know what is happening, the connection failure icon appears on my camera (I have changed the cable three times). When I do it with the Sony software to import photos through the cable it works for me; I don't understand why with the Lightroom Classic software I can't make this connection, how can you help me? My camera is a Sony Alfa 7 R5 that is compatible with the functions to tether directly with Lightroom, I don't know what is happening, the computer is an HP Spectre laptop. I have followed the instructions on how to fix the problem and nothing.
With Christmas coming, I'd like to buy an Adobe gift card for my husband so he can try Lightroom Classic. How is this possible? Note - I am in Canada. Thank you!
Create slide shows with some video. The video shot with my Nikon work fine.. Getting Error Rendering messages after Exporting the video. It appears that the IMG.. movie format I created on my I Phone may be causing the error???
I am buying a new laptop to primarily use Lightroom Classic. I can get a 24 GB laptop with a Nivida RTX 4060 (newer plus 8 GB of dedicated memory) or a laptop with 40 GB or main memory with a Nivida RTX 3050 graphics processor with 6 GB of dedicated memory. Which is mmore important? Either option will have an Inel Core Ultra 9 185H processor.
Lightroom Classic version: 14.0.1 [ 202410161356-30922cfc ]macOS version: 15.0 Issue: When viewing photos in the library module I can see various badges in the bottom right of each photo (e.g. photo has been cropped, photo has edits, etc). When navigating from the develop module back to grid view in the library module those badges are no longer visible. You can get them to pop in by hovering the mouse around individual photos, but at first glance it appears as if none of the photos visible have any badges. This has been affecting my workflow as I rely on the existence of these badges. Steps to reproduce:1. Start in grid view. When opening Lightroom for the first time badges appear as normal.2. Select a photo by double-clicking on it (note: the double-click seems to be necessary to reproduce) and press 'D' to bring it into the develop module.3. Make some edits to the photo (also seems to be necessary, but the edits themselves aren't important).4. Press 'G' to go back to grid v
This is meant to be in the lightroom classic community, but creating a new post results in it being blocked for spam. So its here. Recently, I upgraded my computer and after adding new hardware, lightroom classic started to crash, causing my whole computer to crash, the crashing appears to be kinda random. My mouse could still move around but everything slowly grinds to a halt (all windows functions stop to work until my mouse freezes, a window comes up to stop the process which is not responding, my wallpaper also becomes black), and my whole computer becomes unusable instantly, requiring a power cycle. I changed my CPU, RAM and motherboard as described below: Before: Motherboard -> unknown but I can find out if required (intel I think) CPU -> Intel i5-2500S @ 2.5GHz RAM -> Unknown DDR3 memory. After: Motherboard -> Asus tuf b450m-plus gaming CPU -> AMD Ryzen 3 3200g RAM -> Corsair lpx vengeance 2x 8GB Other hardware (unchanged): GPU ->
Logged onto Lightroom Classic and discovered that one of my collections-labeled Instagram had changed. Instead of the one collection with that name there were 2 collections. One named Instagram and one named Instagram 2. I did not do this. The number of images in each did not concide with the number in the original collection.I found one image im my catalog that I knew was in the original collection. I clicked on the icon in the lower right indicating it was in a collection-Instagram. I clicked on it and the entire original collection appeared. I deleted the 2 incorrect collections and created a new one naming it Instagram and put all of the images into it. The next time I logged on the new one I had created was gone and those 2 other ones were there. Then I created a new collection. Named it New and put all of the correct images into it. When I logged on again my New collection was there PLUS those 2 collections labeled
Hello everybody, On a social network post (see attached photo), I noticed that a lightroom classic user had managed to modify the interface of his application with transparent windows.Do you know how to do this? Thank you very much!
I just got a new computer. I installed Lightroom Classic CC. I try and import some files. But Lightroom and Windows freeze and I have to power cycle to get back control of my computer. Sometimes I can get to the import process and get one or two files imported before Lightroom freezes, other times, just opening the import window freezes the whole system. This is my computer Specs:Alienware Area-51 R5Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-7980XE CPU @ 2.60GHzRAM: 32.0GB (31.9GB usable)Windows 10 ProMain Drive C: Toshiba SSD 512GBData Drive 😧 2TBDisplay Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 TiThere are no log files in the Adobe Lightroom log folder.I have tried turning on and off the graphics card settings.I have tried saving into different drives.I have done a system restore to factory settings.I have checked for updates. No luck in finding out why this is happening. Do you have any suggestions? Every other application I have had on here works.
