virtual copies are created spontaneously 

Can anyone give me a solution to a problem I've got in Lightroom Classic? I had a very large folder that I imported into LR but some of the files failed to import. I then did a second import of the rest, but now only the ones from the second import are showing. The first lot are definitely there and they show in the Catalogue under "All folders" but not under the folder itself. I'm working on a Mac.Thanks in advance!

I'm planning to import my Apple Photos library (~20k photos) to LrC on an iMac. I understand that there are ways to transfer the face recognition data from Apple Photos when doing the import (e.g. using Avalanche), but my question is whether this is a good idea. It seems like an obviously good thing to do, given how much effort I have expended in making my Apple faces data complete and accurate. Also, I have around 500 unique, named faces in Apple Photos, so at a minimum it would save me from having to name them all again in LrC. On the other hand, I'm not sure how LrC will use the imported Apple faces. Will LrC effectively treat them as manual face detections and hence as "truth"?  Or might LrC try to modify the imported faces based on results from LrC's own face detection/recognition algorithm? I assume that LrC will at least use the imported faces to train its algorithm when looking for new faces in existing and new photos. Other info that may be releva

I'm wondering if it's possible in Lightroom Classic to see whether, for a given synced image, the full original file or just a smart preview lives in the cloud. At present, I only know how to check this in LrC/LrW/LrM (looking at images one by one, or filtering by Synced from Lightroom Classic). Is it possible to see this status in Classic? -- MacOS 14.3.1; Lightroom Classic v13.2

HiI am using Lightroom classic Ver 13.3.1 and it is really slow to start when opening, around 2 minutes before the screen is functional. I am using a 17 inch HP laptop 8 months old ,it has 32gig of ram terabyte hard drive (SSD) and Intel iris XE is there any way of sppeding lightroom up, once it is running it is fine but just getting to the start screen takes an age. I have also noticed that if you move to the top menu,s it is slow. EG Preferences. I have used it with the graphic card enable and disabled no difference.Using photoshop is fast and I have other Photo progs and they run very fast but lightroom is a total pain.Any help will be really appreciated, thanks

I am relatively new to LrC, but I have used it about 20x to edit raw (Lumix S1). I have a color space issue where my purple goes blue. I tried to keep it in there with grade tweaks, but it turned blue in JPEG (delivery format). What can I do to hold the purple?

Hello there. Late last week my LRC (current version 13.2) started crashing at opening. I have done a clean reinstall to no avail. I use a MacBook pro with the M1 Max chip and Sonoma 14.4.1. Problems started right after upgrading to the new version of Sonoma. Thank you in advance for any help

Since upgrading LrC to 13.3 the printer function isn't working correctly.  For example, there is no pre loaded paper size for 4 x 6 inches, nor an option to print borderlessly.  When I set paper size in "custom size" to 4 x 6 inches, with cell size 4 x 6, I still get a slightly cropped image with a small about 1/8inch  border.  Scaling down or up from 100 percent does nothing.  Only way I can print correctly is to export the image and print it using the mac OS print functions.

Been waiting for lightroom to restart during the catalogue optimisation process for about 10 mins now.Looking at task manager lightroom is still very active in background and accessing one of my HDDs. See below.What is it doing? The HDD being read is just where photos are stored, catalogue is on a seperate ssd (L) which  back ups are written to as well .Is it safe to shut down the PC during the period  Im waiting for lightroom to relaunch itself?If this is normal behaviour?, shouldnt there be some indication that the programe is still active in the background during this phase of the process?

Ich möchte Teile einer DNG-Datei gesondert bearbeiten und nutze dafür den Maskierungsmodus. Bisher hat das auch immer gut funktioniert. Nun plötzlich scheint die KI oder was auch immer rasterartig das gesamte Bild im Laufe meiner Markierbewegung zu maskieren. Und das passiert mit jedem der auszuwählenden Möglichkeiten von Objekt, Pinsel und Verläufen. Die Möglichkeit Teile der Maskierung wieder zu entfernen ist ebenfalls nicht möglich. Hat jemand eine Idee, was das Problem ist?   Ich benutze LR Classic 13.3.1   [moved from bugs to discussions according to the community rules - Mod.]

I have noticed that the little “page flip” that denotes a virtual copy is not showing in Lightroom. I’ve been able to filter them out in the library in attributes but I still don’t see the “page flip” at the bottom left of the image. I have increased the size of the thumbnails, no luck. Below are my interface settings and while I don't see anything specific to virtual copies, I figured I'd include a screenshot. Is this a bug or did I mess someting up? Any help is appreciated. Chris

Hey zusammen, hat jemand seit dem letzten Update von Lightroom vor ein paar Tagen auch Probleme mit der Synchronisation der Cload und der Bilder?Nach dem Update wurde ich aufgeführt ein neuen Katalog zu erstellen da dieser nicht mehr kompatibel ist. Nach dem ein neuer Katalog erstellt worden ist (Kopie) war ich es bis dato immer gewohnt das alle Bilder nochmal erneut Synchronisiert wurden, (dort stand dann immer zb 10.000 Bilder werden synchronisiert, nach und nach wurde es weniger bis man bei "0" angekommen war, dann Stand "alle Daten Synchronisiert").Nach dem Update werden nur kleine Bilder Zahlen Synchroniesiert, 320, 219, 129, und wie jetzt unten zusehen 9 dort hängt sich dann das Programm anscheinend auf und macht nichts mehr.Auch in Lightroom Mobile werden die Daten nicht aktualisiert woran ich erkenne das es anscheinend wirklich ein Synchronisierungsproblem vorliegt.Hat jemand auch das Problem und hat vielleicht eine Fehlerbehebung für mich?GrußChristian

I'm working on this smart preview catalog from a client but it shows in the Histogram panel that it has Original + Smart Preview. Thumbnails won't load in Library both on Loupe and Grid View, photos will load in Develop module. Here's a screenshot of the catalog. What could be the possible problem for this issue? Is there any thing that I can do to fix this? It usually just shows Smart Preview below the Histogram but now it shows Original + Smart Preview. OS: Windows 10Lightroom Classic Version: 13.1 

Hello,In Photoshop is works, on a Wacom Intuos Pro medium tablet I can rotatie a pictue step by step with my thumb and index finger with the touch option. But in Lightroom I can not. The strange thing is, I can move the mouse pointer arround, zoom in, zoom out, double tap in LIghtroom, with my fingers in all works, but turning the picture by touch option on my Wacom does nog work. 

Hi guys, thanks in advance for reading my post.I use a Macbook Pro, I do not store images on my internal hard drive. Instead all my images are on my External 8Tb SSD drive. My only catalog is on my internal SSD drive on my Macbook Pro.  Currently my workflow is. > capture images > download from SD card into LR Classic > Cull / Process images.Now I have an additional 2Tb SSD card that I want to use while travelling to store, cull, rate, and edit photos while on the move. When I return home I want to get all the images over onto my external 8Tb SSD drive complete with edits and any other data I have applied. How do i do this ? Can anyone explain easily ? Could you kindly point me to a link or post where I can learn the correct way to achieve this please.I have done some digging but I always seem to find conflicting advice and end up down a black hole lolYoiur help woud be appreciated.I'm guessing its a simple answer but I havnt found it yet....duhhhhTa. !!!

 Adobe Lightroom Classic v13.3MacOS v14.5Reproduce: Use the Lens Blur feature and the right side of the Focus Range slider gets cut off. Expected result: See the full panel so the right side of the slider can be adjusted. After restarting Lightroom, the problem persists.   

Something is wrong with the preview functions of Lightroom. I've had the problem since installing the new version of Lightroom. I have followed all the instructions in this post: Lightroom error on preview cache or displays gray thumbnails (adobe.com) and the problem persists. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. Nothing works. How can I fix this?

I have been having this issue where every time I click on Edit in Photoshop, Photoshop 2024 (v25.9) opens like it should be it either shows me a blank application screen or just the home page, without opening the file I want to edit.I have tried multiple times to uninstall and reinstall the apps to no avail. Hi All, I have lots of issues since the latest Lightroom classic update and still after the bug fixes update I did earlier. I have 79 files constantly syncing. LOTS of my photos have disappeared of my hard drive.And background and subject masks don't work, nothing happens when selected, but sky masks do. I have no idea what to do. Am I able to go back to the previous version? Or do I tackle these one at a time? TIA Richard

I have a problem with camera profiles. They work perfectly on many catalogs, but in one specific catalog (my main archive catalog) they don't show in my list of profiles. If I try to reinstall I got the "profile already installed" message. Any idea on how to fix this?I have Lightroom Classic 13.3 on MacOs Sonoma 14.4

We have a family catalog with 170k photos and videos. The problem resides on how slow is the face detection procedure of LRC. My laptop is an M3 PRO with 18gb ram and the face detection takes more than 10 minutes to detect 100 photos aprox.  It's so slow. Does it have a possible to solution to make it faster or to check what's happening?  Best Regards,Ariel

 Until today I used Microsoft OneDrive on my Windows PC. All my pictures were stored in a library within that and Lightroom pointed at the folders within that. It all worked well for me but I wanted to remove my reliance on OneDrive so I;- stopped syncing,- broke the connection between my PC and OneDrive- removed the OneDrive app- and then, within Lightroom, moved all my picture folders to a new drive. Lightroom is working as I expect, except for one minor irritation that I cannot fathom. Each time I restart Lightroom a new (empty) folder is created - D:\OneDrive\Documents\Adobe\dynamiclinkmediaserver\23.5 I delete it but it reappears when I restart Lightroom. Why?
