My open screen says: 1992-2024 Adobe Photoshop LightroomAdobe Creative Cloud I've been using Lightroom for years, and now I cannot do any editing. The tools are no longer available (i.e., Not sure what they were called: the ellipse, circle, etc.) I can only use the sliders to affect the entire image...I can't do any spot editing on sections of the image. Perhaps I can reinstall the program (if so any help on doing this will be most appreciated) Thank you,Joe
The clone tool in LR 13.3.1 does significantly worse on power lines against a blue sky than in LR 13.2. Here's an example, LR 13.2 followed by 13.3.1: Some experimentation shows that for a given brush size, LR 13.2 records many more dabs in the develop setting RetouchAreas than LR 13.3.1. In the example above, LR 13.2 recorded 142 dabs, while LR 13.3.1 recorded only 70 dabs. Perhaps this is the cause of the poorer results in LR 13.3.1. Note that LR 13.3 changed the units of the brush sizes. In the example above, I chose size 77 in LR 13.2 and size 43 in LR 13.3.1, yielding brush radii very close in actual size. But testing shows nearly identical results picking sizes one unit larger or smaller. To access this example, download this folder:https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/mdjog7wa42p3gcgaic16n/clone-bug.2024.06.04.zip?rlkey=a02e4280gsn7qlzezr983ipht&dl=0 It contains two catalog files, clone-13-2.lrcat and clone-13-3.lrcat, along w
I updated to the new catalog and now I have lightning bolts in the top right corner of all my images in the film strip. It had asked me if I wanted to use the new version and I said yes but the bolts are still there. How can I get rid of them? I am running version 6 in the calibration tab.
Yesterday while I was trying to import photos from my harddrive I got a "The following files were not imported because their paths contain backlashes"message, however none of the file names actually do contain backslashes. They're the same Nikon RAW and scanned TIFF files I've been importing for many years. When I put the files on my Desktop and import them they work but this is not how I want to have to use Lightroom and it's never been an issue before. I'm also getting a "The file could not be found" message without an exclamation point on various images I've recently edited. It's recognizing some files from the same folder while saying others cannot be found. To be clear, they are not accidentally stored in iCloud, they are saved the exact same way as other files that Lightroom is letting me edit from the shoot. Meanwhile when I look at the files that could not be found in Library, the file name and folder path are recognized. This is so frustrating, please advis
Hello, I sent a shared collection (album) of about 330 photos from a portrait headshot session to a client and had them select their favorites by liking them in the lightroom shared album web browser client. How do you filter for the liked images within Lightroom classic or Lightroom mobile so that I can go edit the client's favorite photos and deliver them? I am using the most up-to-date versions of Lightroom mobile and Lightroom classic as of today's date. Thank you,
Hi, I'm using macOS Sonoma at the moment but want to downgrade to macOS Monterey (for various reasons). Will the new Remove Tool (Generative Remove) work on Monterey?I know for example some specific tools in Photoshop require the latest version of Ventura. Thanks
I purchased a new Mac, and installed LR (still using old Mac) and in using the Focus Point plug in I get the following error: Can not process this photo - could not find any preview in LR preview catalog. Reason: Call to sqlite failed. Either sqlite is not installed correctly or there was another problem calling sqlite. Have redone all my previews, reinstalled, rebooted, on and on. What am I doing wrong? Anyone know how to fix?Thank you.
After the latest update today, even when I'm just browsing through images, the CPU temps go as high as 85°C. This never happened before even at full load when generating smart previews or doing some other high-intensity CPU work. Is anybody else experiencing this behavior?
I use a WD Passport external drive to store my photos. Each time I have the same issue: I can see the drive in my library with photos already imported and can see it when trying to import. However, after selecting photos to import nothing happens. The import progress bar not showing anything, the drive reading is very slow when browsing in Finder. Then, I usually try to cancel the import and close Lightroom but even if the import gets cancelled, Lightroom usually freezes and I have to force shutdown. Sometimes I manage to import photos from one folder, and then the next one freezes.Btw hard disc access via Finder only starts to slow down after I try to browse it via Lightroom. If I don't use Lightroom at all, the disk works fine. So it is difficult to import anything at all in this case. I suspect it is some incompatibility issue or software/OS compatibility issue. I remember that I had no such problems in the past. What external drive do you use with Lightroom?
I've imported some images using a preset to add copyright info into LRC v13.3. The copyright info is visible for RAW files as well as JPGs in LRC but it does not show up in Bridge. I'm suspicious that Adobe is using two different locations to store this data depending on which app one uses to add it. I cannot seem to find any copyright info using EXIFtool either so I can't be sure about the location (xmp?, IPTC?).Can anyone verify that conclusion or point me to the correct answer?
Creating a soft proof and resolving out-of-gamut colors using a targeted saturation adjustment to remove the gamut warning makes a global adjustment to the photo, which I prefer not to do. Should I make this adjustment and print the proof copy, or should I not make the adjustment and print the proof copy and let the LrC Print Module fix the out-of-gamut colors by using the Perceptual Intent? In other words, is print job intent being done locally, only affecting the out-of-gamut colors, which is better than a global color saturation adjustment?
We have been trying to export 79 photos from LRC to a folder on my desktop and not all of the photos get exported. I then tried to export the remaining 26 and only 4 more made it. We have turned of and restarted our computer. We are using Version 13.3. It seems as if the transfer is getting hung up. What do you suggest we do?
HI There, I am trying to print to a HP5100 from Lightroom and every image comes out black and white even though they are colour. The only way I can print colour images is to export the image and print from preview or the HP app. Please help! I am using a iMac 27 with Monterry 12.7.1
I updated to Lightroom Classic 13.3 when it became available and notice an annoying problem. First, I have a fairly large catelogue (3.635 GB) with well over 250,000 images. When working on 13.3 everyonce in a while I'll notice it seems to be hung. I check the task manager and the drive containing the catalogue is at 100% and stays there for about a minute then goes back to normal and is usable again. This happened about every ten minutes when I was working on photos last night and was very annoying. It also happened while importing once.My system is a Dell XPS-8500 with an older i7 quad core hyperthreaded processor (8 processors), 32 GB of memory running Windows 10 (up to date on patches). The photos are on external USB 3 drives and the catalog is on a 256 GB SSD drive on the motherboard (not the system drive).
Hi everyone, is anyone else having any issues since upgrading to 13.3? The new catalogue has been upand downloading for two days now and just now the sync failed altogether with nearly 600 pictures stuck somewhere. I didn't have any new pics to upload never mind 600 so god knows what its been doing in the background. Meanwhile the damn sync is totally broken and we're told with this version we can't just clear the catalogue and rebuild it like we used to be able to do without an Adobe tech person but Adobe doesnt tell you how to reach a tech person so does anyone have an idea of the solution? Thanks in advance.
[Updated to include the discrepancy with the Library occurrences of Update AI Settings.] In Develop, the menu command Settings > Update AI Settings is always greyed out. I haven't found any conditions in which it is enabled. But Update AI Settings in the context menu for the filmstrip, in Library's Photo menu, and Library's filmstrip context menu are correctly enabled. Whatever the intended conditions of when the command should be enabled, it is clearly a bug that some occurrences of the command are enabled while others aren't. Tested on LR 12.0 / Mac OS 12.6 and Windows 10.
Team,I have been using PS for over a decade but am uising Lightroom Classic for a couple of days. I need to take my 30 .mov files and make one file. I have imported but when I export the entire set, I get a mp4 for each file. I want one. what am I missing? Mark
I have an old copy of Lightroom 6 on DVD that I bought about 6 or 7 years ago. I have it installed on a Win10 desktop machine and it works fine. I also want to install it on a newish Asus Win11 laptop that I bought. From what I understand I am allowed to install it on two different computers. The Asus laptop doesn't have a DVD drive, so I converted the DVD to an ISO file and put the ISO on a USB stick and installed it on the laptop and entered the serial number. When I click on the Lightroom icon on the laptop it loads the splash screen for a couple of seconds and then closes. I can't seem to get it to run. Is there something else I need to do? Or am I mistaken and I can't run Lightroom 6 on two different computers? Thanks.
Adobe, what a joke? the library itself loads 100%What am I paying for? for bugs?!
Since the last updaate on my iMac, 11.3.1, I can no longer search for locations on the map. I get a picture of the entire world, when I type in a location and press enter, I get a "Searching" pop-up and rotating circle that runs for about 5 to 10 seconds, only to disappear. Any tipps that I can try would be great. Mac OS. Monterey Chicken v. 12.4
Running LRc 13.3 on a 14" MacBook Pro with 2 external displays (so 3 displays active including built in). In System Info below, Display 1 is main Eizo, Display 2 is a Dell and Display 3 is internal Macbook screen. LRc is set to open on the main Eizo display and does. But ever since the update to 13.3, I find that if I hover the mouse over the dock (set to auto display at the bottom) with LRc, LRc will jump to the display where the mouse is. I don't have to click anything to have it move there - just hover for a second. Once moved, I cannot access the top bar to move LRc so have to go to the Mission Control or whatever view (4 fingers up) and move LRc over to the Eizo again. Once there, it maintains the same size as the display it had jumped to and refuses resizing by dragging at the edges. I can only get it to resize by going full screen or quitting. Interestingly, LRc had just jumped to the Dell screen which prompted me to post here. I did the 4-finger up and move
Here's my context: I have imported a bunch of photos in Lightroom on my iPad.Those photos are synced correctly with Creative Cloud, as I can see them across all my Lightroom ecosystem (Desktop, iPhone, Web and of course iPad) . Here's my problem:Those photos are not synced into Lightroom Classic. They can't been seen the "All Synced Photos", nor in the download folder where my creative cloud synced photos appear normally.I have observed the issue following the release of LrC 13.3: is this a problem from the "new" syncing engine? Here's my configuration: macOS 14.5 (MacBook Air M2 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD)Lightroom Classic 13.3Lightroom 7.3 ipadOS 17.5.1 (iPad Pro M4 512 GB SSD)Lightroom 9.3.1 iOS 17.5.1 (iPhone 12 Pro Max 256 GB SSD)Lightroom 9.3.1
Everytime I use the new generative replace feature in Lightroom 13.3, it progress box freezes towards the end. Finally, a message pops up to suggest a network connection problem. My network connection is fine, as evidenced by the fact that my Adobe apps are able to update themselves and all my other programs have no problem with the network.
I was wondering if anyone else is seeing this... I just upgraded to Lightroom Classic 13.3.1 (Intel MacBook Pro os v 14.5 (23F79)) and I’m experiencing some bizarre behavior in collections. While, in the development module I will be working away and then for no rhyme or reason the photo will disappear, and I get the message "No photo selected" When I go back to the grid view, the image has been removed from the collection. It’s still exists in the catalog, but not in the collection. The issue happens with both virtual copies and direct links.
