Hello to this group.  I think I have backed myself into a corner with the 'help' of the Customer Support line.  The tech support were very nice people but referred me here as they are 'not trained to help' on no longer supported software.  My partner is 76, disabled, and spends his day taking pictures and editting them in Photoshop CS5 (and really enjoys the content aware feature).  He is cognitively impaired, not able to learn new software, and barely hanging on to his knowledge of CS5.  Our XP hard drive crashed recently, was not recoverable, and had a copy of CS5 that was not used.  He used the version on Windows 10 machine.  So bought a Windows 11 machine, had Windows 10 hard drive copied to Windows 11, installed from CS5 .exe and thought all was great.  Then got the activation error messages.  So called Customer Care, who explained CS5 no longer supported, could not help, told to go to Adobe Community, suggested problem was the XP copy

I'm having a problem opening a tutorial on Adobe Learn https://www.adobe.com/au/learn/photoshop/in-app/create-black-and-white-photo-effect?learnIn=1&locale=en-AU#The link "Begin tutorial in Photoshop" downloads a .dmg installer for Photoshop. I already have the desktop version on my Macbook Air M2 2022This happened with Safari, then Chrome, most recent versions. I was logged into Adobe account in both.Does someone in the community know of a solution?Thanks

Is there going to be a way to disable this new feature of double clicking to edit text? Sometimes when I'm moving things around I'll accidentally double click and then it will start editing the text versus moving it. I'd rather have a way to turn this off in preferences so it works like it did before.

Can't create a project file. If i do theres nothing i can edit. No background, nothing.

Hello, I have downloaded jpeg files from Stock Adobe for years. Likewise, within Ohotoshop, I have opened those files and saved them to cloud documents for years too, without any issues. Why is Save To Cloud Documents suddenly greyed out?

Hello all,Not sure where to post other than here so hopefully this is the right spot....I asked many months ago how to save a jpeg to make it load but but be an average file size and look sharp, the suggestion I got here was not to use, File...Save As... but to use, File...Export...Export As...I would pick 7 for Quality and save...I am making the pictures I post, 1500 x 750 pixels which has usally made a 1-2 meg file...Now when I do that same process my jpeg pictures are coming out about 500 KB and I don't know why. My pictures are being put on a Microsoft Word Web Page and haven't had any issues till now. Anybody know why or have any ideas ? Thanks--Bill Gass -

Hello! Thank you in advance for help. I can't find the answer for weeks.... I do ''render video'' Actions. Problem -> it always overwrites the file no matter I have ''file name'' included in Actions or not. If the only way out is doing some script (to avoid overrite or create each time a unique name)... please teach me how to do this and how to use it with actions, where to place etc.  instruction for a dummie please. I have Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.5.0 20230512 

Hello,I've been using the Select Subject in Photoshop and also the Select Subject and Select Background in Camera Raw for a long time and they did a great job.With the latest update, I've noticed that it turned out to be inacurate on PS and Camera Raw.It's useless now. Plus, I have lot's of presets that use the "Select Subject" or "Select Background" that now don't work correctelly.For example, if you choose "Select Backgroun" it selects the background and the subject at the same time.Selecting the subject only select parts of the subject in an inacurate maner.I've noticed that Photoshop now have a new online Select Subject feature that Adobe state to be "more accurate", but I tried and I find it to be exactelly as accurate as the old bundled Select Subject. Not more accurate. Plus; it is slower than a slug. It slows down the workflow.Simply the online version work like the old desktop version used to work.I don't want to use the online version. After updating to Photoshop 26.8 (released in June 2025), I’ve noticed that any changes to color settings in Photoshop are being overwritten every time the app becomes active. It appears that Photoshop is repeatedly syncing with the color settings of other Adobe apps, even after I've made manual adjustments.Background behavior:Adobe apps like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Bridge use a shared file called ACEConfigCache2.lst to manage color setting synchronization.Under normal behavior:If you change color settings in Bridge and enable synchronization:Bridge writes its color settings to ACEConfigCache2.lstOther apps read the settings from that file the first time they become activeEach app also writes its own color settings back to the file afterward The problem in Photoshop 26.8:Photoshop reads the settings from ACEConfigCache2.lst, butIt fails to write back its own settings to the fileAs a result, every time Photoshop is reactivated, it loads color settings from another app

Estou com problema de disco cheio.... No entanto, eu tenho dois HD's. Quando vou em Editar, Preferências, Discos de Trabalho só aparece o Disco 'C' e o outro HD não é listado. Acontece que ele está normal. Inclusive aparece como alocado no gerenciamento de discos da máquina.Alguém pode me ajudar como faço para o outro HD aparecer na lista com a caixa de seleção para que possa se usado também como disco de trabalho.   

I have Photoshop 2025 and EVERY time I attempt to add text with the text tool, an area shows up in the text area that is black, then a bunch of foreign language. I have to delete this every time I go to create a new text. How can I remove it permanently, that it NEVER shows up when I create a new text ?

Hi,Ever since I switched from PS 2024(25.12.3 version) to PS 2025(26.7 version) I do not have handles when using a gradient tooI.It worked perfect in 2024 and not at all in 2025 versions.I am on Apple M4 Max and Sequoia 15.5 . When using the gradient tool in PS 2025 it essentially works as a classic gradient without the ability to see the handles and  adjust the gradient after it is drawn.I reset the tool a few times, went through the settings but did not find anything that  could restore it.I attached two pics ,first with the gradient tool used  in 2024,second with 2025 versions.Unfortunately I have to stay in 2024 versions now as I use gradients a lot.Appreciate your help !

How do I recover my custom patterns once the update is done. They are all gone.

OK,I'm on the latest and greatest version, PS 26.8.1.I'm trying to split an image for Instagram, and usually "Save for Web (legacy)" gets the job done. It used to work for me, but it doesn't now. Why?? I get the following message: ERROR: The operation could not be completed.                The system can not find the path specified. Has anyone else had this issue with the latest version? I know in the past others have had similar issues. And is there a workaround for it yet?  Thanks.

Hi everyone,For the past 10 days, I’ve been experiencing serious lag and freezing issues with Photoshop. It started suddenly and affects pretty much every action now, though it’s especially bad when using tools like the Healing Brush, Clone Stamp, and Patch Tool. After a while, even saving or exiting the program takes several minutes and can only be done via keyboard shortcuts.I’ve tried rolling back to older Photoshop versions, but it didn’t help. I’m working on a 2019 iMac, which I know is getting older, but it still meets the system requirements and had been running Photoshop beautifully up until a couple of weeks ago.So far, I’ve:Cleared caches multiple times a dayKept other apps/tabs closedIncreased Photoshop’s RAM usage to 85%Followed all Adobe support recommendations I could findDespite all this, the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced something similar or found a solution? Any help would be hugely appreciated!

I may be missing something simple, but I need to change the IG symbol and QR code to white. I am going by the instructions for the color replacement tool, but when I try to click on the black to tell the tool what color that needs replaced, I can't get the other steps to work. This is a graphic that will be a .png that is going to DTF. I am just doing 20 T shirts as a personal promo. Anyway, becasue I am going to DTF, I did't want to get into adjustment layers and upload something that won't print properly. I am on PS 25.3.1. I am also a bit of a novice and not a power user. Maybe I rasterized a layer.......sometimes PS wants to do that? Anyway I am trying to follow the support help (link) and not getting anywhere. I grabbed the IG symbol and my QR code was generated via wix. I imported them as .png into PS. files.https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/replace-colors.html 

It happens a lot both in  Beta and OG photoshop. Remove tool is not working it gives out error. See screenshots below. 

Occasionally when I have multiple layers selected in my Layers window and I try to manually resize/move/rotate all selected layers using Command+T (Free Transform), the bounding box will only select some of the layers. For example, currently I have 5 layers selected in my Layers window: One layer of header text, two individual rectangles and two sets of smaller text placed over the two rectangles, but Free Transform is only selecting the two rectangles and the two smaller texts layers, and NOT the header text even though all 5 are selected in the Layers window. I've attached a screenshot to reference the layers selected in my layers window versus the layers that are given the Free Transform bounding box. Even though the "A Budding Romance" text layer is selected, it is not included in the bounding box and is not affected by any Free Transform actions like resizing, rotating or moving.  

Never had any problems with my photoshop application, however, recently I haven't even been able to open the programme. It comes up with an error box saying "could not initialize photoshop because an unexpected end-of-file error was encountered". After looking on the forums and online for a solution, I am stumped. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the programme but it still won't open. How do I fix this   Thanks

 J'ai une version Adobe 15. On me propose une mise à jour 2025 pour 3 ans. Au bout de ces 3 ans, je retrouve ma vieille version adobe 15 ? ou je n'ai plus rien du tout ?
