My long list of problems (this all happens after several minutes of working): - Videos in the media panel no longer gain a thumbnail and remain grey - The program won't play and is stuck on whatever frame it stopped working on - If I click on a video in my timeline, the thumbnail dissappears - The yellow line at the top of the timeline no longer works - If I exit the program, half the time it will say 'not responding'. I close it again and it says 'wait' or 'exit program'. I select the latter, and then when it says something like 'backing up and reporting to microsoft', I just select cancel and it closes because I have left it for an hour and nothing happened. Things I've done: - Cleared cache - Uninstall and reinstall - Turn of GPU UI rendering - Change audio output in audio hardware - Restarted my laptop 5 times Notes: I am using Premiere Pro 25 and am on a Probook Laptop with 65 free gigabytes. Please help!

Does anyone know how to save adjustment layers that have effects added to them to the project window? I'm trying to create a template Premiere file for ease of use, but the adjustment layers in my project window seem to always be blank when I re-insert them to the timeline, despite the fact that they have effects added to them when in the timeline. This is quite frustrating because I just want to drag and drop adjustment layers whenever. I'm aware that you can save presets but this still involves adding the presets to the layers each time. I'm also aware that when I add the effects to the 'source' section of the adjustment layer this changes the file in the project window which I thought was my solution, but there's no way of viewing and tweaking the effects this way.
How to change the color of the Work Area Bar?MacOS 15.5. PremierePro 25.2.3Thanks
I have this issue in premiere pro and premiere pro beta where the whole system crashes instantly when a select a clip in the timeline panel. It has happened more than 20 times now, and makes all editing impossible. I am at a wits end as to how I am supposed to edit in Premiere pro anymore, it has been incredibly unreliable over the years, using multiple different devices, and I am really consdering switching to an alternative editing software. I will attach a screenshot for reference, I have tried so many different things to fix it, but nothing seems to work. I need help fast, i am rapidly running out of time to get this video done.
Hi, I have an issue with Premiere Pro. After using the play button for a couple of times, the play button stops working and I can no longer see video, play a video in the source screen or play the timeline. When I restart Premiere Pro it works for a couple of times and then stops working for a couple of times again. I tried the sollutions that were suggested here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/premiere-pro-video-not-playing-in-source-monitor-after-sync-settings/m-p/8983006I also tried to change the audio hardware, but both sollutions are not working for me. I don't want to restart hundreds of times within building one video. Is there another way to fix this issue? Thanks!
I am trying to change the keyboard shortcut for Enter from "Render effects in to out" to just "Render in to out" however when I input "Enter" into the box, the dialog box closes. What do I do?
Hi,This is my first time working with Closed Captioning. I'm a novice with this. I have been doing a TV show with no captioning at all (I know...decades behind). I just got the 2025 version of Adobe Premiere Pro, and I started playing with the captioning. I noticed that for broadcast TV shows I should be using CEA-780. So, I tried my 1st episode with captioning under 780. When I finished the episode, I noticed I couldn't do 780 (embedded to file) under Quicktime, but you can with CEA-680 caotioning. I know and read this is an issue with Adobe. My initial question is this: should I start editing with CEA-780 captioning? Or start with CEA-680 then later convert? I also noticed that there are missing words with the captioning between 680 and 780. Words getting cut off. Not sure how to fix that. I will have other questions if somebody can be patient with me. Thanks.
I'm shooting Sony FS7 Slog3 XAVC CineEI.I'm looking to get this into a starting point and looking for a LUT for this. I note there are a number of manufacture specific preset LUTs available in Speedgrade. Has anyone out there been using Sony Slog3 and can recommend a starting point LUT in order to bring my gamma footage into the REC709 world?Regards
I tracked and mixed a drum playthrough for a drummer and we video-ed the process with a phone (samsung s22 ultra), which obviously has VFR.When I sync the mixdown audio with video in Adobe Premiere or Davinci Resolve, it is spot on. Inside those projects it is synced without issues. However, once I export it and upload to Youtube I get visible out of sync result there, nothing like how it flows in the video editing software.I exported the audio (through Studio One to 44.1khz 16bit) the way I would export my final audio mix for master.
I am having an issue where random frames within my project will go black. In the middle of a clip anywhere from a few to sometimes almost 20 frames will just be black for some reason. There are often no effects or cuts in the places where this happens. This even persists when I export the project. If I go and edit that portion of the clip (i.e. speed change, color grading, adding an effect, etc.) it will sometimes fix it and the frames will come back. I have tried restarting Premiere, I have tried restarting my computer, I have tried reseting the preferences of Premiere, I have also tried rendering the sequence over and over. The frames are still gone when I render. This problem seems to occur randomly and although I am usually able to work around it by just making random minor chages to the clip in question, it slows down my work flow considerably.
Hi, (Mac OSX 12.3.1 - Premiere Pro V.22.3.0) I have recently opened a project where all my media is located on an external hard drive. All of the media is appearing as offline. When I try to link the media, my external hard drive is not appearing in the Media Browser, however it is appearing in Finder. If I choose to link the media through Finder, rather than Media Browser, it means that I have to re-link each file individually. This is obviously not ideal on a large project. Does anyone know why this might be happening and how it can be solved? Thanks
Hi there, I'm using the new Tab Export in Premiere Pro 2022 (I'm not a huge fan of it, I admit). Before when there were some In/Out points in the timeline automatically the export range was set to "In/out source", but now even if I have some "In/out points", the export tab is set to "Entire Source" and I need to change it manually (and I forgot most of the time). I do not use "Work Area Bar" as I prefer In/out points Maybe there are some preferences or something I could do to set it to "In/Out Points automatically"? Thanks
Photos and video of the glitches provided below. So I've noticed since I started using a new camcorder that in my projects I have been getting a lot of weird video glitching and artifacts. These appear only from footage shot by this camcorder and not my other camcorder, and they appear in the program monitor while editing and in the final video after export. However, the way they appear and the fixes I have tried have been inconsistent - in some cases I can fix the frames and in some cases I can't. In some cases, the glitches appear in Premiere Pro but disappear once exported, and in some cases they don't.More strangely, the problem comes and goes. For example, I can have a glitched frame, then if I render it, it sometimes fixes it, or if I copy it into another sequence, it may fix it, and in some cases after copying it, if I go back to the original sequence, the glitch is gone or changes (despite not having done anything to that file other than copying it). Finally, the probl
Adobe glossary seems to be quite brief and not saying anything about these types of markers. As well as most of Youtube videos that never cover them. There are 5 types of markers here. And I've got several questions about them: 1) What is the difference between Comment, Chapter and Segmentation markers? When you chose one of them only the label color automatically changes, and the only difference is that the Comment marker has a comment text box, whilst the other two don't. So why should I use Chapter and Segmentation markers if I can just use the Comment marker and don't type anything in the comment section? Why are there Chapter and Segmentation markers if you can just create one of them and change the color yourself? 2) What's the Web Link for? What is the Frame target - what should I type there? Why is there a separate marker for a web link if you can just type the link in the Comment Marker text box if you need it? 3) What is the Flash Cue Point,
Version 25.3.0 on Macbook M2 Max , macOS Ventura 13.4 I've run into an issue where my export tab is freezing and/or won't even open up (just stays on the edit tab), and this happens whether I click the export tab, press command+M, or route through file->export. This issue is only happening on one specific project, and works fine when I try to export on a different project. I've tried all basic troubleshooting, reinstalling premiere, restarting computer, clearing caches, duplicating the project, unlinking and relinking all media, and even importing the project into another and the issue always persists, so I suspect it may have something to do with the source footage but cannot identify a specific root cause as it's a project-wide glitch and still persists no matter what sequence or footage I try to export. I am working with a combination of BRAW, JPG, and mp4 files and they were shot on Blackmagic, Gopro and Insta 360, but there aren't any "weird" gopro or Insta 360 f
I keyframe in my work a lot, so moving the playhead in the effect controls panel is pretty common for me. The problem I have is that I can't move it all the way to the end without the playhead flying down my timeline, losing the spot I was at (and depending on how long the clip is, it can be super sensitve & touchy when moving it down to the end). I could deselect 'Selection Follows Playhead' in the sequence drop-down menu and "fix" this, however that deselects the clip that my playhead is on (obviously), which is super helpful as I don't have to move my playhead to the next clip AND select the clip.I have no idea if this is intended, but I would be surprised if it was as it's so incredibly touchy. If it is, it would be great to have an option for the effect controls panel to NOT do this.
Does anyone know how to create a real VHS like this?
I have imported a simple video I'd like to remove the black background from. Screenshots attached.I have a white background loaded behind the video which I can see when I crop the clip. I apply the Ultra Key, eye drop the black background, and set to 100% transparent and for some reason, it just removes patches around the flower, not the full black background. I've tried:- Not using multiple screens.- Manually choosing black as a hex code- I've played with all of the settings I can find under Ultra Key - Modify > Reinterpret the footage (oddly this wouldn't allow me to edit any alpha settings) It's as though the black is already an alpha layer but not transparent for some reason. I purchased the clip from Vimeo so maybe it was compressed and that messed with the file? Any ideas?
I opened a project file I've been working on for the past three months. Within a few minutes of loading up, it will just close itself. This is before the program would normally pop up a window about a missing font that I always ignore and before any video previews can be loaded. It seems to only be related to this project file. It also doesn't pop up that window that says it's crashing and asks to send an error report. Build:Windows 11 Pro 26100.362412th Gen Intel i7-12700K 3.60 GHz32 GB of RAMNVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 The local C drive is an NVME SSD, but the file in question is stored on a Synology NAS with IronWolf HDDs. Both the computer and the NAS were built from new parts this year. Premiere: 25.3, installed, then I restarted the computer, and this started happening
Hi, I am looking for a way to export current sequence as a only black and white fill colors, where all semi transparent (eg opacity is 50%) would be converted to black and all fully transparent pixels would be fully white (#FFFFFF), so the final output will have just two colors at the moment I use adjust alpha effect with invert alpha and mask only ON, it colors all alpha to white, however semi transparent parts are grey.I was trying to use levels effects, but didn't succeed with that Ideally I need to expand the alpha areas (white) to cover the whole frame, for this I am using Gaussian blur with maxed out blurrness. But I am looking for way to expand the white areas without gaps as the blur does any advise?
This is probably true for other CS software too but it happens in Premiere mainly. I'm sure we've all had the scenario here mid-edit an external drive hokding some or all of the files for a project gets knocked and ejected, and so Premiere loses the files until you relocate them manually. It does a good job of finding all the files once you've pointed it to the first one it's looking for (thanks Adobe!). But my question is why can't it find them automatically itself. When I plug the drive back in the parh to the file/s is the same. Premiere literally lists the original path of the file in the search bar. What's the reason for it not just automatically reconnecting to those files which are exactly where they were moments ago? (This question is aside from the obvious suggestions of a) don't work on an active project on an external drive b) don't let it get unplugged in the first place!)
The Consolidate Duplicates function does not work. On a new project file I just imported files into the project folder. Started using the footage and setup a sequence. But then I had more footage that I downloaded so I selected all in my windows explorer folder and dragged them into the project folder in Premiere thinking I can just get rid of the duplicates. But when I tried it, it doesn't work. See video attached. I'm running on Adobe Premiere Pro 25.3.0 on a Windows laptop
