Questions

I created a Responsive HTML project in Robohelp 2019. It looks pretty good, but I would like assistance with a few questions.  1) When my online help displays in the Application, it is only about 1/4 of the screen on the right. I am not able to expand it to a full page. Is this normal, or is there a settings I can build it with? 2) How do I remove the Index and the glossary Icon when I am displaying my online help in the application? 3) I have an arrow displaying on the bottom of the help screen. When I click it, the word "Tweet" displays.  Please see the 3 screenshots below (one for each question). Thank you in advance for your help. 

Hi RoboHelp Community, When I researched RoboHelp a short while ago, I stumbled across a training video that included a practice file. I just can't seem to find that video now or the practice file. Does this sound familiar to anyone?? Or, is anyone willing to part with a file/template I can use (I started the 30-day trial yesterday)? The training videos I'm finding now all seem to be geared towards marketing the new features/functions (which are amazing . . . don't get me wrong!), but I need a little i+1 help to hit the ground running with a current project!  I greatly appreciate all you do. Hi, I want to start using Robohelp (2020.2.29) to generate an online help from a Framemaker document. When I link or import the file I can choose from which style a new topic should be started, i.e. the styles are correctly read from my document. However, when I click on Update/Create Topics, only an empty folder is created and RH shows "Success - HTML generated" pretty qickly for the big document I'm importing. No topics are generated. For comparison I tried a Word document. That worked fine. But even a small Framemaker file that I created for testing did not work. Any idea? Thanks,Marco.

Hi all,Does RH2019 produce a log file when it is generating? If so, could someone tell me where it is stored please?Am using RH2019 Classic, and all was going well until 30 minutes ago. I have been conditionalising some (simple) text and generating to Word, as well as making some other changes. All of a sudden, the generation process gets to "Updating files" and stops, then crashes. Every time.I CAN generate to Word successfully when I don't use a Conditional Build Expression, but I was using one earlier and it worked fine.  I also CAN generate to HTML5. Definitely looks like it's something I have done this morning that has upset it - but I have no idea what and really could do with a log file that might give me a clue.Any help gratefully received. hi everyone, I have a robohelp classic 2019.0.14i can't set the ruler at the top.The online guide says to go to SHOW but in the list  there is no RULES. Where can I set it up?.tks daniela 

Hello, everybody! I use RH2020.4 and face the next problem. I have a parent project with few children ones.Once I publish my site on a server, everything works well except the logo link of children's projects. Please, see the video in the attachement. I guess this link is to children's index.html, meanwhile, I can see absolutely correct URL in the address line. Undoubtedly everything works well on my local PC :).       

Hi,I am using RH 2020.4 on Windows 10. I have created a project and have used the Google Font, Rubik throughout the project, The font works fine on the online output but it substitutes alien fonts in the PDF output. Also, the formatting such as the spacing between the bullet, is not displayed. I also went through the post in this community and I did not find any problems to rectify it as mentioned in the post. Can anybody help me with this issue? 

I am using Robohelp 2019.0.14 with Git for version control. When I move a topic (by dragging the topic in the Content pane) from one folder to another, the Moving dialog box appears and it remains there forever. I have to close the project and even Exit Robohelp to get rid of the Moving dialog.The topic is moved to the required folder but the links on this page are not updated.Can you suggest an automatic way of updating the links?

Hi,I have a two-page manual cover in PDF format created in InDesign. I've chopped it in half in the hopes of using the first page as a default topic for HTML5 output so it acts as a landing page of sorts when launching a website for a manual. Is there a way to bring this into RoboHelp as an HTML file so I can select it as the default topic in the Output Preset?I'm using RoboHelp 2020 for Mac.Thanks

Hi y'all,I'm using RoboHelp 2020.4.173 and I'm trying to match the style of our InDesign-generated PDFs when using a RH Output Preset for PDF. The one thing that's being stubborn is the line spacing for the ToC. I can't for the life of me find where those styles are defined and how to change them.In my search through this forum, I found references to a p.pdf-toc class, and I've added that to my .css (the same one used by the master page), but no matter what change I make to that class (such as color: #9012fe;), the ToC does not change.Where do I set up styles that affect the ToC?Thanks for your help!

I've just upgraded to the current version of RH and have encountered strange behaviour with thumbnail sizing. I have two screenshots on one page, both with a thumbnail width of 300. On generation as HTML5, the thumbnails have noticeably different widths.To add to the strangeness, clicking the first thumbnail produces a SMALLER image. (The original size is 631 × 483, with a thumbnail setting of 392 × 300. Clicking after generation produces an image about 80% of the original when it clealry should be much larger.)The second screenshot is 753 × 480, with a thumbnail setting of 471 × 300. Clicking after generation produces an imageabout 110% of the original, nothing like the ratio expected from th esettings.Any ideas as to what is going on here?

I might have mixed up the years in my example (below), but I am currently watching 3 different tutorials for RoboHelp, and none of them have the same buttons in the same place (IE: Translations). I get that software companies need to constantly make changes to justify taking one weeks pay from my pocket every flipping year, but can you at least post the changes in a way that we can easily find them? Employers do not like it when our productivity slows down, just so we can find some stupid button/function change that is No Help At All! Stop reinventing the wheel. If it is not a new feature, then there is no need to move everything around. I know designers who just don't want to do it anymore becasue you guys make for a terrible professional work environment. If Adobe were a person, I would fire them for slowing down my workplace productivity every year or so with unnecessary convoluted updates. Thanks 

When I insert a formatted variable into a topic and then print to Word, the variable value is rendered in Times New Roman instead of the paragraph font (in my case Tahoma). It's correct in the HTML5 output though.The variable value is defined as <em><strong>storm </strong>ACME User Guide</em> Am I missing something or could this be a bug?Any thoughts/workarounds would be useful. Otherwise, I may have to create yet another word VBA macro to resolve this issue.

Hi all,to me, it seems that changes to the master page in the output preset is no longer saved in RH new UI 2020.4.173. I tried to change the master page in my own project and in the sample project "About Robohelp". I can save the preset just fine, but when I close it and reopen it, the changes are reset. I also tried doing this with an existing preset and with a new one. Both with the same result. Has anyone else seen this and can confirm this is a bug?Thanks and best regardsKarin

I believe I've done my due diligence for this. But, surprisingly, I haven't seen an answer for how you might create a note using an image before the running text, and format the text properly. I'm trialling RoboHelp 2020. I'm just getting acquainted with CSS. Hello,I made a copy of my RoboHelp project because I have to do another project that is similar. I placed the files in a new folder. I renamed my new folder and ".rhpj" file. My question is how do I get RoboHelp to change the project name at the top of the screen. See the red arrow in the attached photo.    ThanksLisa 

We need more than four Menu Item Levels for our online help. We have now also created a fifth level, but the problem is that we cannot format it.Is there a way to have more than four menu item levels and format them?The fifth level is then inserted and displayed flush left in the menu again, see screenshots. 

Hello, I'm using RH 2019.0.12 version.When I try to update RH  with the version 2019.0.14, the Robohelp Updater crashes (screenshot). Does anyone have a solution?Thanks.

When I select Help > Update, I get this oxymoronic message: "Specified product is not installed on this machine". Does anyone have a solution?

I am using RoboHelp 2019 Update 5.I upgraded a RoboHelp 2015 Classic project into RoboHelp 2019 (not classic)1. I have a customized style (Steps) that numbers items (much like <ol>).2. I am using it in drop-down text.When I open the second, third, fourth, etc. drop-downs, the numbering continues rather than restarting at 1.Let's say I have 4 drop-down text paragraphs of 4 steps each. Rather than four steps numbered 1 -4 for each drop-down, I get four drop-downs with steps numbered 1 - 16. Oh, BTW it's dynamic. If I open drop-downs 1 and 4, I get two paragraphs of steps numbers 1 - 8. Also, if I interrupt the steps:1. The numbering restarts at 1 (as in this example).2. Rather than continuing with 3.The "Start From" property of the style is 1. I think that is the issue. In 2015 Classic I could right-click on the offending renumbering, select List Style..., activate "Restart Numbering At:, enter the restart number, click OK and be happy.Is there such a work around in RoboHelp 2019?

Hi, Everyone. I've just created a new topic. But even after rebooting RH 2020.4.173, the new topic does not appear in the Review Pane. It might be because I've created the new topic in an unsanctioned way. Here's what I did: Copied (ctrl + C) a topic in the TOC (yellow, Screenshot 1)Pasted it into the TOC; renamed it "Tuition Reimbursement" (green, Screenshot 2) SCREENSHOT 1: SCREENSHOT 2 That's probably not the proper way to create a new topic. My new "Tuition Reimbursement" topic does not appear in the Contents Pane. But I created it that way (copy-and-paste) for efficiency -- the layout and formatting is copied from the original.  Any advice for me?  Thank you!   

Hi all,I have completed my first RoboHelp project and saved it as a chm file. After I generated a chm file and viewed the output successfully, I sent it to our developer to add to our website. He can view the table of contents in the left frame, but is unable to view any of the content in the right frame.I'm not sure if I am not saving it correctly or have the settings right.Has anyone had this issue and can guide me to a solution?Thank you
