Questions

I am running 24.002.20991 When I run a PFD through the scan & OCR, it will convert the pages fine. However, when I try to save the document, I receive an error message: "This document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (14)." Any workaround?   

I have a 175+ page PDF I'm trying to make accessible. In InDesign, I set up tags and structure, thinking they'd help with Reading Order. Apparently I was wrong, because the results in Acrobat DC are just about the most nonsensical ordering of items I've ever seen.In the Reading Order panel, I tried dragging and dropping the elements to the correct order, but then items on the page that are overlapping are disappearing. What's going on here and how do I fix it?Another problem I'm seeing is when I drag and drop the order, sometimes the item I was dragging disappears. This is so confusing and frustrating!

I've been adjusting PDF images of book pages by adding red text in the margins and using opaque white rectangles to cover distracting paragraphs or photos.  Everything looks fine on the screen,  with the areas covered by white rectangles appearing blank, as intended.  But when I print the PDF on paper, the added red text is all there, but the opaque white rectanges are no longer present, leaving the distracting PDF text in place.  What am I doing wrong?

I have AcrobatPro DC (Continuous Release 2018.011.20040) Mac Sierra (I can't upgrade per corporate's IT just yet)I cannot get ANY of the keyboard shortcuts found on this page Keyboard shortcuts for Adobe Acrobat to work at all.All I can do is 4 common ones, copy, paste, save, close. I would LOVE to be able to marquee zoom or switch to select tool by keyboard, or even assign shortcuts would be a great help. I'm not sure why Command+spacebar to select an area to zoom into doesn't work universal across all Adobe platforms.?????

Hi I hae Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, and I am trying to edit things such as bring object to back or front, but the OBJECTS menu on the right side are all greyed out.  I thought I have encountered this a while ago and I remember going to the preferences menu to check or uncheck something.  But I cant seem to remember how I did this before.  Any help is greatly appreciated. Its driving me nuts. 

When exporting comments from a PDF it gives the option to 'exported selected comments'. So I select them and click export. then when I import them into another PDF ...ALL the comments come in. Is there something simple im missing?

Hello,I have a 5000 page document that I have gone through and redacted but I was hoping there was a way to review my redactions without having to go through the entire document again. Is there any way to skip to only the pages I have redacted? (These redactions have already been applied)Thank You,

I'm using the latest Windows version of Acrobat and I use the "Add text comment" (Typewriter) tool a lot (not the Text box" tool).  I've looked at the Acrobat shortcuts Web page and cannot find a shortcut for it.  Can someone please tell me what it is?  Thanks 🙂

MAC; Acrobat Professional.  The ADD COMMENTS tool is NOT SHOWN on the "ALL TOOLS" menu.  No, it's not down lower (I.e. "show more").  I called tech support and they advised me that the "New Interface" [which you can turn on and off under "view/enable [or disable] New Acrobat"] does NOT allow this "ADD COMMENTS" tool to be displayed.  It is ONLY displayed on the little submenu, floaty-thing (see screenshot below).  You CAN have the ADD COMMENTS tool displayed if you "Disable New Acrobat".  This is a STEP BACKWARD, in my view.  Why not have it available with all the other tools?  I'm a Human Factors expert (in Aviation) and this would never be allowed in an airplane.  INPUT (you listening Adobe): restore the capability for ADD COMMENTS (and every other tool) to be displayed on the "ALL TOOL" menu.   

How can I stop Acrobat Pro on PC (Continuous release) from opening annoying side-menus.  Every time I open a document it opens the "Bookmarks" and "All Tools" menus, covering half my document! I want it to remember setting from last session (with the side menus closed)? I tried this - and it doesn't workl!https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/disable-right-hand-pane-in-acrobat-reader.html I posted this request 3 months ago and have had no response.   

"Any form fields that have the same name in the merged documents are now merged into one field." I've never gotten this message before, and I now can't combine various files without Adobe changing the file contents, even if I change the file names to different names. Can anyone tell me how to stop this feature from preventing combining files?

Hi, I have created a button, to trigger it to run a javascript code, to launch excel file.My java code as below: var filePath = "file:///C:/Path/To/Your/File.xlsx"; app.launchURL(filePath, true); The problem is, it wont open the excel file.Is my code is correct? I have been having a hell of a time getting our forms put back together in Acrobat Pro DC. Besides the well known iOS issues, I now have some of our forms going out with double fields. For instance, I will have a plain text field named "Description_01" I will finish up the document, send it out to our techs, then when the document comes back printing is a nightmare because the text will be blurred around. I started looking into the problem and set a hard font size for that box, also set so that long lines will not scroll. That fixed many of the issues, but when you printed it, the text would appear bold. I went back into editing and found out that for some reason, some of my text fields had doubled. In edit, it looks normal, but if you click on the field and drag the box, there is another copy of the exact same field right below it. How does that even happen? Why is Adobe making you pay for options in Acrobat that have been free for years?  Case in point: To print a mailing label with a Brothers QL-1100 printer, you have to create a PDF of the label, then use the 'Shap Shot' function in Acrobat to print it.  I can't do that now without paying a ridiculous $13.00 monthly fee.  Cmon Adobe, this is nonsense. 

I create a document of 33 certificates with the person's name on it. I highlight the name and create a bookmark (so I can later split the document by bookmarks into individualized certificates for each individual).  It started where ocassionaly the add bookmark wouldn't work, using (Ctrl) (b). Now it rarely works in any method. I have tried (ctrl) (b), right clicking the highlighted text and clicking Add Bookmark, on the bookmark panel clicking the "add bookmark" icon - nothing works. After a dozen or more tries, it will finally add it. This is crazy! Please help. Full paid for Adobe version.Thanks in advance for any help!

A few days ago I created a share link for a PDF, and it has now inexplicably been deleted from the cloud . I had it open in my browser, and suddenly found I was unable to post a new comment; then the next time I went to the browser tab it was no longer even viewable. When I click on the link I get "Shared file not available. This PDF has been unshared or deleted. Contact the owner for more information." But I'm the owner, and I'm 100% positive I neither unshared nor deleted it. It also no longer even appears in the list of documents on my Adobe homepage. A bunch of comments had been added by people at my company, which are now lost. Hello! I have a PDF that pulls info into it using form fields. Is there a way to split a whole dollar amount into millions, thousands and hundreds using a formula? Say the field name is bondamount thanks and appreciate any help

Hallo,leider habe ich bei der Internetsuche auf eine Antwort kein Erfolg gehabt. Szenario:Meine PDFs sind auf OneDrive gespeichert. Mit meinem Tablet lese ich die Bücher und markiere wichtige Stellen oder mache mir Notizen. Wenn ich die PDF schließe und wieder öffne, sind die Markierungen und so alles wieder da. Wenn ich die PDF auf meinem PC von OneDrive öffne, fehlen sämtliche Markierungen und Notizen. Ist das so gewollt oder gibt es ein Weg, dass ich die Markierungen auch auf dem PC sehe ? Vielen Dank im Voraus! 

I am using Adobe Acrobat Standard 2017 (classic).  The installation tutorial states that there is a compare pdf files feature in the tools tab.  However I cannot find any such tool.  May I ask why it would not be available?Thank you.

Hi! I'm trying to have a sum range trigger the showing of a check mark on a field.  For example if sum total is 19 a check mark will show up in box 1 because it is below 20.If sum total is 28 a check mark will show up in box 3 becasue it is between 25-30.I'm a novice at Adobe and your help is greatly appreciated!
