RoboHelp

Using Robohelp 2019 and for some reason, can't view the TOPICS LIST.   I go to the PODS, and can open the project manager, or table of contents, but nothting happens when I click on the topics.    Have exited the program and restarted computer- problem persists.    I was able to import a new file and add it to my project and table of contents, so I know all the Topics are still there (thank God), but the TOPICS LIST has disappeared?   Any tips for someone who is clearly a novice with the program-- HELP!!

My agency is using RoboHelp v. 2020.6.76 to publish policy manuals.  We're new to this version.  When we update a policy manual with new policy, we typically print just the sections that we changed so we can email them to staff to review.  We can't figure out how to print just parts of the manual.  In the last version we used, you could pick the topics you wanted to print.  Help!

What am I missing? I can't figure out how to add baggage files (PDFs) in RH 2020 and I can't find any support in the RoboHelp User Guide. 

I apologize if this has already been discussed here, but I can't find any similar posts.If I edit a .css file outside of RH, will it still be editable in RH in the future? I thought I had read somewhere, or possibly heard in a training session, that if you edit a .css with some other tool, you can't edit it in RH going forward. Is that true, or did I misunderstand something?We are just beginning the process of upgrading to RH 2020 and will be moving from the Indigo layout to Frameless, so I anticipate we will need to make some changes to our current stylesheet. I know almost nothing about .css but we do have a front end developer on our team. She doesn't have RH (and it doesn't seem worthwhile to get it for her just to edit the .css), so I'm just trying to understand what our process should be. 

I'm using RH2020 V2020.5.0.71 on a Windows 10Pro laptop.  My project is housed on a shared network drive, we do not use versioning software.  It has about 430 topics, 15 different languages, and is around 15MB.  Each language is a folder.  I completed a few minor updates to one topic. Saved. Compiled to HTML5. Closed the project.  My compiled project had about 10 topics in Russian that were empty. The topic existed but the content was gone.  I reopened the .rhpj then opened the topics that were blank.  Now they are blank in my source.I added the content back into the source topics. Saved, Compiled to HTML5, exited RH.I reopened my .rhpj file.  The previously wiped Russian topics held their content and appear to be fine.  I spot checked topics in other languages and found several in Chinese that will now only open in code view because they are reporting tag errors (missing close tags, that don't appear to be missing at all). Prior to the Version 6 update, I have been adding Search Keywords during creation or after a topic is created by using Properties found under Topic ellipsis.After the update to Version 6 (I am using Rh 2020.6.76), I am getting an error when I try to add Search Keywords using Properties.  This happens whether it is a new topic or an existing topic.I can add/edit Search Keywords after opening a topic and using the Topic Properties in the right side menu.  I want to ask the community if anyone else experienced this before I put in a bug ticket.   Thanks in advance.

I have a really weird problem. When my generated Responsive HTML5 files are staged to our network directory, the tabs display question marks like this: This does not happen on my computer, only when the files get staged and also attached to our application. My cloud engineer is comparing directories to see if any files are not getting staged. In the meantime, has anyone seen this problem? How did you solve it? Thank you!Cindy  

I'm using RH 2020.6 on Windows 10.  Is there a way to see whether condition tags have been applied at the topic level vs. the content level? I see both the Topic Properties and Condition Tags reports allow you to see the condition tags in a topic, but it doesn't appear as if either says whether that tag applies to the entire topic or only a portion of it. Pre-2019 RH did allow for this, so maybe I'm just not seeing it?

Hi Peter,   My team manages a few dozen projects in RH 2020. Is there a quick way to update all of our projects to the newest version of RH at once? This would make maintaining our projects via version control much easier. Thanks! 

Hi, I wonder what it is in Word that is conveerted to html-id in the import? I have an heading in Word and when i import it the reuslt is: <h2><a id="My_id"></a>My heading</h2> I can't see where the id "My_id" is located in Word. Thanks in advance

I'm Experiencing problems when  trying to add some Javascript functions to my RoboHelp Page.Script references are ignored when deploying the project on the web server.I found out the following connection:If Frameless output  is hosted on the server then full page doesn't reload every time only the topic area reloads same as Responsive output. Also all scripts in header area or in other places seem to be ignored. My Question: Is there a way to initialize Javascript code every time when a new page is loaded even when the Project is hosted on the server?Adding the script to the start page does not help, because I want to initialize the class on every page.As mentioned everything works fine in the Robohelp Preview.Perhaps the user should be informed that there is a difference in the behaviour between the Preview in Robohelp and behaviour on the web server.Thanks in advance for any help.

I am getting an error that says "Cannot read document. Make sure that the document is closed." when trying to create a topic from linked DOC.

I was giving my project a few final touches and all of a sudden it seems like the formatting dissapered, empty white spaces that can't be deleted  appeared everywhere mostly after bold words. How can I fix it?

Hi,Our site is all up and running using the Studio template (thank you RH). Unfortunately an issue has been logged that the print mechanism doesn't work. It opens up, the print window but doesn't retain any of the page's styling or images. I tried fiddling around & generating a simple output with a new Studio template, but the same issue remains. Similarly, selecting the 'Background Graphics' checkbox on the print mechanism doesn't help.I've attached a picture which hopefully shows what I mean - the font is in Times New Roman, and the blank spaces are where the images should be...Any ideas? Thanks.

I have purchased Robohelp but no download appears. It does not appear in my products or in creative cloud apps.Clicking the get started button in the registration email directs me in an endless loop on the website. I have a frameless online help (Studio) skin output. I have setup a few microcontent terms with the intent and responses.For example:Intent: Revert to Approved PlanResponse: <Short description>When I seach for the strong Revert to Approved plan the correct short description is displayed as expected.However, if I search for only Approved Plan it displays the above short description. Which is incorrect. It should ideally not pick up the above response but display other topics. How can we handle this?

I have a project that was created in RoboHelp 15 and was recently converted to RoboHelp 2020.  I had no problems generating printed documentation of the project in RoboHelp 15, but I am unable to generate the printed documentation in RoboHelp 2020.  Note, I have a different project that was also converted to RoboHelp 2020 and have no problems generating printed documentation of that project.   I googled this error and found threads that talked about the directory name being to long, so I shortened it -- did not fix the problem.  I also saw a thread that talked about the mso-bookmark property in the .css being an issue, but that property does not exist in my .css.  I chatted with an Adobe support person who recommended that I change my password and re-login and also to reinstall the Robohelp software.  Neither of those solutions were of help.  I am including the contents of the log file below.  I am also attaching my .css file file to assist in tr

In RH2020 Update 5 it is possible to create folder names with dots (V2021.2) e. g.Robohelp interprets all objects with dot as file even if we create a folder. That is certainly a bug. Either you are not allowed to use dots in folder names or the folder with dots is also interpreted as a folder, right?

We are currently testing an export of Robohelp content into our new Translation Management System (TMS). We noticed that protected spaces are created from Robohelp. We have not yet found out when and why Robohelp creates these protected spaces. These then cause problems for us in the TMS during translation, as we sometimes get double spaces in the translation as a result. Attached is an example from us:We have created a text in RH2020. If we export it via copy & paste into Microsoft Word, the whole thing looks like this:All "°" symbols mean a protected space. We really need support on that topic. Thanks in advance.

Nice update! But: Converting projects from RH 2020.5 doesn't work?!Tried with our larger projects and with a mini test project as well - hangs on opening with "Reading files..." forever. What could be difficult or wrong?

HiI am using RH2020 Update 6.Is it possible to apply conditional tag to individual topic in the Related Topics list? 

I have migrated a project from RH2019 Classic to the standard one. When I generate the classic version, it generates all topics, regardless if they're linked or not (there are some orphan topics). When I generate the standard version, it doesn't generate the topics that has no links at all with the "Default Topic". Is there a way of generating all the files like it was generated in the classic version?I currently have RH 2019.0.11.

Hello,I am having an issue trying to sign in to re-register Adobe RoboHelp 11. Yesterday, IT made some changes to my Virtual Desktop. They had to migrate it. Yesterday, I was able to open RoboHelp without any issues. Today, I tried opening it and it showed the Trial screen and an option to enter the serial number. I clicked on the Sign In button and it shows that I am not connected to the internet. That is wrong, because I can open Chrome and browse around the internet. I tried chatting with Adobe support, because I think there is something wrong with their sign in process. They were not helpful and said they do not support older software. Has anyone run into this issue before? If so, how did you resolve this? If I can’t get it resolved, do I need to re-install RoboHelp again? Thanks,Andre Here are some screenshots of the issue.
