Is there a way to do mass indents in robohelp?I have a lot of content thats left justafied. I'd like to add spaces or tab. Asking if theres a way other than going to every sentence on every page and doing it manually
My developer cannot get context-sensitive help (CSH) to work, and he is asking me for advice. I have no clue. For RH 2022.5.28, is there documentation for developers on how to implement CSH? While RH 2015 has this type of documentation, as far as I can tell, RH 2022 does not. I’ve shared the RH 2015 documentation, and I’ve shared the latest RoboHelp_CSH.js file, but he has not been able to make it work. Here’s an update:I upgraded a help system from RH 2015 to RH 2022CSH works fine in the 2015 version of the help, but not the 2022 versionI did not touch the map files, but they appear to be fine because I verified them via URL: path/index.htm?rhmapno=123Although the developer has shown me what he has tried so far, I don’t know enough about his work to understand what he has shown meDoes anyone have any advice? I realize that you all are writers and not developers, so I completely understand if you nothing to share.
I wanted to post on a thread that I started last year but it says the discussion is locked and the reply options are all greyed out. In a nutshell, my problem was that when I tried to publish my manual the process would get stuck on Indexing References. The manual itself would still fully publish but the search function would not be working. I was baffled in that I would be able to identify an offending topic but when I deleted that topic and what I thought was the asset folder, the previous versions of the manual would then be corrupt. I have since discovered the issue. Unless I would create a new asset folder for the new topic, Robohelp would place any copy-and-pasted or even imported graphics inside the general assets folder, but not inside the topic's individual asset folder, if that makes sense. It seemed that anytime there was a graphic outside of a topics asset folder, even if it was still inside the project's asset folder, it would get stuck on Indexing Re
I have a project in RoboHelp 2022. I have imported about 5 word documents in the project. I use the Microsoft HTML Help output preset. When I create the CHM file I notice that some topics are missing from the CHM file. * The topics are referenced from the toc but with a '?'-prefix in the link. * When I click one of the ? links, information is shown in the reading pane that the HTML file is missing.* The missing HTML files are not really missing, they are located in the correct folders* However, it the title tag in a "missing" HTML file a "LTR" (u200E) unicode character has been introduced. After some debugging, it turned out that it was manual page breaks that was the culprit. Page breaks had been inserted before some Heading 2 to make the document look good when PDF versions are created. The "HTML topic" following the page break is the one not appearing in the CHM fileSo what to do? I remove the page breaks and the CHM is created correctly and all topics are inclu
RH 2020.8.34 I'm customizing the Studio Frameless skin. I worked with the Left Panel options and thought I added Index and Glossary in the tab section. As seen in the attached images, the Index and Glossary buttons do not display after generating. Hopefully it's an easy fix I overlooked. Thanks!
We use mainly RH2017 under the subscription licensing to manage hundreds of legacy RH projects. Our RH 2017 and 2019 Classic are now asking for a serial number while the Reimagined 2019+ are still working fine. Did Adobe remove the old RH from the subscription licensing? If so, what is everyone doing to be able to use the old version if they were on the subscription?
Hi, We are trying to search with keywords in the help publications, but with some of them, the search crashes; Keywords like "1", "5". Is this an issue that you have experienced? If so, how can we resolve the search problem?
I've upgraded a 2015 project. The skin and many features were highly customized in the past. Custom buttons was one of those features. In RH2022, I see that I can now add custom buttons using the interface (YAY!!!) However, the generated output breaks -- every time. When I say breaks, it does not display the skin at all. See screenshot below. The problem is very repeatable:1. add button. (at minimum: icon, title, URL to topic)2. move new button. (or don't, it really doesn't matter)3. generate.4. no skin.5. delete new button.6. regen -- all is well, but no new button.I need to add 5 custom buttons for my client's use case. Originally, I added all the buttons and associated info. It all looks great in the preview screen, but not when generated. In the settings, I see that with the standard buttons like Print, there is an "OnClick" event function. Do I need to add an event? Where/how do I add that code?I'm happy to send a Loom video, screen shots, or files as requested to help diagnose troubl
Hey, maybe someone can help us here. 🙂 When we search for something in our exported web help, the search results are displayed in lowercase letters, even though they were capitalized in the RoboHelp topic. I searched for 'Separater Ausgang' and all search results are lowercase: But when I open one of the topics (in this case I opened the second topic 'Kunden in Abteilungen') the result is written capitalized (which is correct): So why are the search results in the first picture lowercase? Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance! 😄
I am using RoboHelp to create online help files and generate Responsive HTML5 output presets. To continue the project previously managed by another writer, I imported the HTML files from the output folder, as no .rhpj files were available. Additionally, I do not have information on the exact RoboHelp version used by the previous writer.I use SourceTree to push help file changes to the repository, and the help files are displaying correctly within the application. However, when inspecting the output in Developer Tools, multiple errors appear in the console (please refer to the attached screenshot).Could you please assist me in resolving these errors? Let me know if any additional information is required.Thank you.
I have several RoboHelp 7 projects (I know, so old!) that I am looking to upgrade to RoboHelp 2022.This page says to upgrade the project to RoboHelp 2015, 2017, or 2019 first. But the referenced download page (here) doesn't contain those RoboHelp versions. Where can I download RoboHelp 2015, 2017, or 2019 so I can upgrade my projects properly? As you probably know, they don't import correctly when I attempt it in RoboHelp 2022.Thanks for your help!
RH 2020.8.34 I'm customizing the Studio Frameless skin. I got our company logo in the header and even got our program name in there in mixed case letters (thanks to the RH community experts)! My current issue is that there is an apostrophe in our program title (Workers') and I haven't yet discovered a way to add it ('). I thought I could update the index.htm but can't find that file in my project folders and it's not in the assets\doc folder in the project. I also thought of somehow putting an image of an apostrophe there but am even more stumped on that idea. Thanks for any help.
I'm currently encountering several issues when exporting my project to PDF in Adobe RoboHelp. These include layout problems such as incorrect or inconsistent numbering, misaligned or uncentered figures, unexpected page breaks, and issues with the formatting and generation of the table of contents, list of figures/tables, and glossary. Additionally, I'm having trouble integrating my template properly into the PDF export, which affects the overall styling and structure of the final document. Any guidance or solutions to help resolve these issues would be greatly appreciated.
Can someone tell me how to remove the dotted line for inserting a paragraph in the body of page? If it can't be removed, then how can I hide it? thanksSharon R.
Hi Adobe Support,I have two active Adobe subscriptions associated with the same email address:One for Creative CloudOne for RoboHelpCurrently, I’m unable to run both applications at the same time — signing into one forces me to sign out of the other. It seems like there’s a conflict between the licenses, even though both subscriptions are active and linked to the same Adobe ID.Is it possible to merge both subscriptions so I can use Creative Cloud and RoboHelp simultaneously without needing to sign in and out each time? Please let me know the best way to resolve this.Thank you,Rabi
I am new to RoboHelp and am trying to create a Connection Profile to SharePoint. When I enter my SharePoint credentials I get the message attached saying I need to get Admin permissions. I sent the information to my IT admin, but he is having problems figuring out how to give me permissions. He is asking me for the web address/URL of the screen where I am getting this message, however, RoboHelp is hiding the web address so I can't get to it. Does anyone know what it is or have a work around I can tell him? Thanks.
RoboHelp 2022.5.28, Windows 11I have developed a CSS that is used for all of my company's RoboHelp output; let us call it c:\RH_projects\global\...\company_name.css. For each RH project we create, I would like the CSS to either:Be linked in the HTML to c:\RH_projects\global\...\company_name.css (using either an absolute or relative link), or, Be a read-only symlink to c:\RH_projects\global\...\company_name.css. This guarantees that company_name.css can only be changed in the global project (so that local CSS changes aren't allowed), and more importantly: any changes that are made to company_name.css in the global project will be "automatically" promulgated through the entire suite of documents produced out of RoboHelp. Neither of these methods works. RoboHelp is reluctant to hop out of a project to a CSS elsewhere on the filesystem, and I don't know what exactly Windows is doing when it creates a symlink, but whatever it is, the RoboHelp editor is not interpre
Hi Peter. I am having this issue and have tried all the solutions I have found--deleting the Publish folder and copying the files. Deleting the Output Preset from within RH and copying it anew. When I open the project, all of the Publish profiles are intact in the Output Preset. All of the files show synced on our SharePoint site for both of us--the other writer can see the exact same file date / time for the preset. However, when she opens the RH project and navigates to the Output Preset and clicks the Publish link to see the Publish profiles, the entire list is missing ... but I can see the list when I open the same exact project. Again, it appears that the preset file is the same file for both of us--everything shows synced--we can even update a topic separately and see the other's updates--so I know the syncing is working. Do you have any other ideas what we can try or why she might not be seeing the list of Publish profiles? We have several children projects with a parent, and I
Hello. I have just converted a classic (2017) project to 2022, and there are a couple topics that aren't loading. The "loading author view" message appears, nothing happens from there. It gives you an option to dismiss the Loading author view, but nothing happens when I click on it, and I can't work within the topic or any other topics. Will it eventually load? (Right now it's been 24+ minutes. Previously I'd exited RoboHelp and reopened it, with the same results). Is there a limit to the file size of a topic? The topic in question is 3051 kb. Has anyone experienced this and is there a way to get it to load? I'm not sure if it eventually will; I'll keep it open longer as I work on other things. thanks!
I'm using RH2022. I have created a project using the Orange template and frameless as a preset. When I generate output and click on content, it shows the topics list. The font size keeps changing while clicking on different topics. Some topics show in Calbri as a Font family (I use Calbri), and others show different font sizes. This is what I expect, But If I click on another topic, the font size changes as shown below.
I'm using RoboHelp 2022.5.28 to author my content, which is currently published to Responsive HTML5 output. I'd like to start using Microcontent and publish to a Frameless output. I've read the RoboHelp User Guide as well as finding many internet articles on both subjects. I've also watched several videos on both subjects. I cannot seem to get the Search text field in the Frameless output to even display on-screen to use to even know if my Microcontent is authored and published correctly. Note: In the screen shots provided, I had to blur certain information for security purposes, but I don't believe that should hinder understanding what is authored and what the issue is. Here is my Microcontent. I have just one Microcontent Group that has two Intents/Responses (just to start small for testing).I've added the Microcontent into my Table of Contents but set the properties so it doesn't actually display in the published Table of Contents. In my Frameless output preset, I've selected to
Our company has about 20 products and we want to have an online manual for each that we can develop quickly and maintain easily. Is Robohelp suited for that? And how or where should these manuals be hosted? Do I need to sign up with a hosting provider and then create a subdomain for all these manuals? Or does Adobe offer a hosted solution? I am a little confused and could use some guidance. Thanks
I just upgraded from 2019 to v2022.5.28. My project ugraded and published just fine in the new version but the style sheets are not being applied when I'm editing or creating new topics. The styles of these particular topics are internal styles and not external css documents. Again, the published manual applies the styles just fine but they don't display when authoring. It makes it very difficult.
