Hi everybody!I've just upgraded a project from RH Classic to "Re-imagined" and I have trouble getting the "locate"-button to appear in the HTML helpfile (after generating the output). I have already "clicked" the "locate"-box in the Window Settings. Is there something else I can do to make the "locate"-button appear in my output again (just like it does in the Classic version)?I am really greatful for any answer you could give me.Thanks,K.
We have 6 separate RH2019 projects all but one will generate output with no issues. The 6th project which is very large +2500 files,,,,The output process starts as we can see the output files being generated then at about 2200 files it just hangs...No errors, no response - let set 24 hrs on 2 different occassions. We were informed by Adobe Support this is most likely due to memory leaks. They are still researching for us to find resolution. This is critical for our RH2019 implementation. Has anyone else had similar issue and/or suggested fix? We are using the latest patch RH2019 (14.0.9) - For this same project the 14.0.9 patch did fix our issue of not being able to add this same project to our GIT repo.
RoboHelp 2019 outputs some images as black rectangles instead of images when producing HTML. Context We've upgraded from FrameMaker 11 and RoboHelp 10 to FrameMaker 2019 and RoboHelp 2019. Frame 11 and RoboHelp 10 are on a Windows 7 machine. Frame 2019 and RoboHelp 2019 are on a Windows 10 machine. See screenshot for visual. As always, any help is much appreciated.
Hi there, I have been using the index a lot in previous RH versions, and I also used to re-organize it quite often. I have tried doing the same in RH 2019 update 9 new UI, with no success. Here's what I want to do: I have a couple of index words already containing a couple of topics. Now I detect that I have taken the same word in different spelling in the index. I now want to combine these two index words into 1. Previoulsy, I could simply rename one of the index keys and give it the same name as the other one. I was then asked, if I wanted to combine the keys and have all topics in the new key. In RH2019, I get an error message that the new name already exists. Another thing is, I would like to be able to drag & drop topics from my project structure under an index word. In large projects, I do not know what I have already defined and what not. Furthermore, I am missing the proposal of already defined keys when adding keys to a project. So I have no way of knowing how exact
The spell check in RoboHelp 2019 is not working. It does not even find a single issue in the entire project. I tried making intentional spelling mistakes as well. Can someone help me understand if I am missing something as I installed RoboHelp last week.
Hi all,I suppose that the vast majority of the users haven't yet tried RH 2019, but maybe some of the beta testers can shed some light or guide my troubleshooting.I have installed a trial of RH 2019 and upgraded all my projects from 2017 to 2019. Now, with the exception of one project, I can't generate any output. I tried both WebHelp and Responsive, I tried recreating the output presets (SSLs), I tried rebooting several times, nothing works... As far as I can tell, RH manages to empty out the output folder, generates some JavaScript files in whxdata, then stops. I don't think the log is displayed in real-time anymore (or at least I couldn't find it), and if I try to view the log by right-clicking the output, I get an error. The samples generate without any problem. The only project I can get to work is the master, which has 3 topics and ~35 merged projects. Other projects (ranging between 10 and hundreds of topics) just fail silently.Edit: Considering that the samples do work, I unders
Hi All, I've done some searching and have the start of this. Per Subject, I would like to link to a provided index.htm file that is included in the release CHM directory. I searched the forum and found the following: describes the JS to get the relative URL https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/desktop/htmlhelp/example--link-to-a-file-outside-of-your-help-system?redirectedfrom=MSDN So here is what I tried. I created a script in the RH2019.Patch9 project. function URL_Parser(fn) { var X, Y, sl, a, ra, link; ra = /:/; a = location.href.search(ra); if (a == 2) X = 14; else X = 7; sl = "\\"; Y = location.href.lastIndexOf(sl) + 1; link = 'file:///' + location.href.substring(X, Y) + fn; location.href = link; } Then I simply added a Button1 URL as follows: <a onclick="URL_Parser('index.htm')" style="text-decoration: underline; color: green; cursor: hand">Link to QSG</a> Ho
We updated to the latest version of RH Classic (14.0.9) this past week and since then noticed that our HTML5 responsive outputs contain several issues, including:Spacing for numbers is no longer alignedSpacing after bullet is no longer alignedRandom letters are boldedSpecial characters like brackets don't show up in outputEverything looks fine in RH, including the preview window. We have not changed our css recently either. The only thing we have changed is updated to the latest version of RH Classic (we have been using RH Classic 2019 since it came out months ago.)Has anybody else noticed these issues? Please let me know. Thanks,James
I have not upgraded to RH2019 rev.9, after reading all the problems folks are encountering. I didn't want to be not be able to open my previous projects, but now I am getting this error message everytime I open an existing RH 2109 project, or creating a new one. I tried restarted my computer a few times, but still get the error. I am still running ver7, which was workoing fine until now. Please advise. Application Error The application has run into an error. Please save your unsaved changes and restart from menu:Help > Restart RoboHelp
Hi Can anyone recommend a training provider in the UK that can go beyond an introduction to and/or the basics of RoboHelp 2019? I have used the 2015 and 2017 versions, learning on the fly and feel that there must be so much that will help with efficiency if I could sit down with someone. Failing any providers, is there any online material beyond the TechTools course available? Thanks Richard
My colleague zipped the RoboHelp file and send it to me. I installed RoboHelp 2019. I unzipped the RH file sent by my colleague. I opened the project and I see red x in all topics. All of them are displayed as broken links. Is there anything that I need to do after installing the RoboHelp.
I'm new to RoboHelp, I'm trying to import a Word doc and it's "Almost" what I want, but the bookmarks import as an ID like _Toc363044838 instead of the text of the heading that was in Word. I can't see a way to make these import correctly. Any ideas? How it looks in Word:
I just upgrade from Version 9 to version 2019 and now I cannot open my old projects created in version 9 of Adobe RoboHelp in my new 2019 version of Adobe Robohelp. Please advise. Thanks.
We are publishing a chm help document for our users. The intoduction page appears as our starting page just fine. However, we have had some users playing with the chm file and if they ask for Options and then Home they get the error below. I'm not seeing where I can specify what should display for that option. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jim
Hi there,I was again playing around with the new Word output and have the following issues:variables are not displayed in the correct style, but as Times New Roman. The size is adjusted correctly to the surrounding style.images are not scaled correctly, their width is decreased, but their height not. I already removed the image style, the "use thumbnail", and the container I had stored it in, with no effect. Can anyone tell me which settings I have to make to avoid these effects? By the way, output to PDF uses the correct style for variables and correct image size (fitting to page size). Thanks and regardsKarin
We are working with Robohelp 11. Is the problem known? - a similar problem occured some years ago. What can we do (beside changing the browser 😉 Our customers often use Firefox as their default.
Adobe RoboHelp 20192019.0.9 When generating output using the Word preset, RH gives the following error message. //Error://Unhandled//CssParser error: line 343 col 3: invalid identity. CSS => /**///body {//font-family:'Segoe UI';//font-size:13px//} Does anyone know why this CSS is generating an error? PS I had to add // to the code sample to get this message to post.
RoboHelp 2019 - Frameless output Is there a setting or config option that will force the top section container (horizontal bar with logo, title, home page icon, name, and search box) to "stick" (that is, remain fixed) at the top of the browser when help users scroll down the home page? For example, the TOC tiles and any topic that I might also configure on the bottom of the home page would scroll up behind/under the bottom of this section. I have the same question as it relates then to the "topic page" and its "header" section for the same skin.
Currently having an issue with linking a Word document, and then generating HTML from it, where RH will not generate images from the drawing canvases or text boxes in the Word document. This is something that did work for me when I used RH2017 in the past. I have my drawing canvases placed as standard in the Word document as seen below. When I link to that particular document though, when I Generate/Update HTML, it will not generate any sort of image. This is all it will display, and there are not images in the HTML, just the styling that was pulled from the Word document. If anyone can help me work out what settings I need to adjust in RH for it to pull the images from Word, that would be much appreciated.
We are using a chm file for project specific help in a scada software(WinCC). Using HH_HELP_CONTEXT to call a specific topic with map ID using C script. The issue is when opening the chm file by double click or directly calling the help file it is working fine and we can browse TOC and contents.BUT when calling specific topic using map IDs the file window is opening but nothing displays.
Our online help is HTML5 generated with RH 11.If we're viewing the Index tab, and switch to the TOC tab, the index will appear within the Table of Contents, underneath the Contents itself. Why? Did I break something? When we first view the Online Help (with the TOC as the default tab), the index doesn't appear merged there - it's only when we switch to the Index tab and the back to the TOC tab that the index appears merged with the TOC!
Not much to say here. F7 or Edit>Spell Check does absolutely NOTHING. RH2019.Patch9
Hi All, First post. I am a new user to RH. Have 2015, and upgraded to RH2019. We installed RH2019, at patch 8. When I constructed my CHM help file, the images were scaling nicely for the displayed CHM help frame. The same is true when outputted to HTML5. What I mean is that the images were a typical size. When the CHM container was made smaller, the images were scaled to that size, but the text was kept to the original scaling. I recently upgraded to patch 9 and this scaling is no longer happening. The image is the size of the original and the container just displays horizontal slider bars. All images are from PNG files. Can this be corrected? Nothing in the CHM setup window. Stumped.
I'm trying to generate Word output after the last update (9) of RH 2019, but it failed and I got the error attached in the screenshot.
RH 2019 Is there a way to add brief, descriptive text (using a "Normal" or similar text style) to each TOC tile - along with image and its title? For example, if I had a TOC tile called "What's New", I might want to include text similar to, "Release notes, upgrade requirements, and upgrade instructions."
