I'm using RoboHelp 2017 (13.0.2.334) to generate a responsive HTML5 help file using the Indigo layout. The predictive search feature works in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, but not in IE 11. When I search on any term in IE 11, I get a spinner, but no results. Searching the same project in the other browsers generates instant results.I'm having the same issue running the project from my hard drive and from our application server.I've read several discussions on similar topics and tried some of the suggested solutions, but with the same results.I selected a layout from the gallery and named it Indigo2, then generated the project. Search worked on Chrome, Edge, & Firefox, but not IE11.I tried generating one of the sample projects using the Indigo layout from the gallery. Search worked on Chrome, Edge, & Firefox, but not IE11.I also tried generating one of the sample projects using the Charcoal_Grey layout -- which doesn't have the predictive search. The regular search worked on Chrome
I've converted a project from RH 2019 Classic to RH 2019 Update 6 and found a possible bug where any topics in the TOC that point to a bookmark within a page show up as missing...The properties appear okay:If I re-add them using the New Page context menu, the red X appears and the links appears broken after a short while.I can't open the page from the TOC, and I get red error messages saying that RH needs to be closed. When I publish, the TOC does appear to work okay in a responsive layout. The problem didn't exist in RH 2017 or 2019 Classic.
Can anyone recommend a resource to assist us in upgrading a Robohelp X5 Web Help project to Robohelp 2017. We understand it is recommended to go to 8 first then 2017. Are there versions of Robohelp 8 to do this? Any assistance would be most appreciated. Thank you
I have a RoboHelp project that I've converted successfully to 2019.05 (the new UI) from a 2017 project. The project has 322 images that, in the new project structure, reside in the folder assets\images\images. When I attempt to publish the project to an IIS Web site using the File System option in the Publish Profile panel, it only copies the first 202 images to the Web server, leaving 102 images behind in the project source folder. This is repeatable; I can delete the entire folder in the Web site manually, or use Republish All option when publishing, and it always clears the target folder fully as expected but only copies the first 202 images from the source folder to the target folder. It looks like a bug to me.
When you attempt to enter a Windows path for a File System "Publish Profile" in RoboHelp 2019.05, the UI replaces what you enter far too quickly so you never have enough time to complete the path before it attempts to replace characters (for example \\server\share with //server/share) or append the trailing slash "/", or validate the path.At worst, you simply get the error even before you finish typing:or you find it adding a trailing slash "/" before you complete the path. In the example below, I was attempting to enter //cadbase03.pwc.local/d$/inetpub, but if I stop typing, even for a fraction of a second, the UI adds a "/" to the end - which ends up in the middle of the string that you were trying to enter. It would be far better to do the syntax checking and/or the path verification code on the focus-out event, rather than on individual keystroke events. When I started looking a RoboHelp 2019, I absolutely hated it, but I can now see the advantages and what Adobe are trying to to wit
How do I cancel my existing Captivate subscription or migrate my existing Captivate subscription to Adobe Technical Communications Suite without having to pay a cancellation fee ?
HiWhen I generate a web help in Arabic using a Azure (RTL), the search function does not work at all? What shall I do?
Good afternoon all, is it possible to update the homepage layout for a custom grid? I have 6 TOC but only want to display two per row:grid-6: numberOfTOCItemsInRow == 6;Thanks, Chrsitele
Hello. We have two users: User 1 has a full license, User 2 has a trial version. We will be transferring the User 1 license to User 2 in a matter of days (5).When User 1 generates WebHelp, all is well. No unused topics, no unreferenced topics. When User 2 however takes a copy of the project, and generates WebHelp, the generated reports show all 443 HTM files as Unused and/or Unreferenced. Note that a second project, much smaller, was copied to User 2 and does not have the same issues.Wondering if anyone has run into this. We do not think it has anything to do with the trial version, but...
I'm kind of a noob here. I opened an existing RH document, made one change and suddenly my alignment in the HTML view is all spread out in something that looks like full justification rather than left justify. I exited and didn't save but it is still that way when I go back in. The Design side is fine. I have tried to change the view in HTML but cannot find how to undo whatever it is that I did. I have googled to no avail. I'm sure it is something crazy simple but I can't work in it this way.
I've been asked to pull version history for 84 topics for every week going back 5 years! This would take an enormous amount of time to complete one topic at a time. Is there any easier way to pull version history for every topic for a particular week?
I have created a tool tip topic called TT Export Alarms. I am trying to link to a main topic called More Menu with several subtopics, one of which is Export Alarms. I want to create a link from TT Export Alarms to More Menu / Export Alarms and have it display the subtopic.1. Click on More Menu - Export Alarms2. The More Menu displays.3. However, I would like to display the sub-menu Export Alarms and not make the user click twice.
I have a help site made in RoboHelp 2019 using the Indigo Respoinsive HTML5 skin. When I was playing around with the Azure_Blue skin, the map file I created worked great, I was easily able to link to topics using ?rhmapid=map-id but when I switched to using Indigo, these links stopped working. My map file is still selected on the output preset settings. I have no idea what happened.
Hi,I tend to learn software which is new to me by step by step video tutorials. Are there any step by step video tutorials available. The RoboHelp 2019 Videos within https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCE3l-ZlFjC8EHe1sOuHwn-A are more marketing focused as opposed to education focused. Thanks in advanced,Kieran
I would like to customize the underlying HTML/CSS for the "templates" in RH2019 (not the skins). Where are these files stored? There are several things in these templates that I hate and would like to fix but it involves messing with the template itself. Editing the HTML on specific pages is not good enough. Why there isn't a simple "create template" option for advanced users I do not know...Thank you!
Still using RoboHelp 11, although I will be setting up 2019 on a new laptop soon. When I create a new topic, it displays a blank page which displays the Topic Title in heading 1. I currently am not using a master page, although I've customized my .css file to display the text formatting I want.I want to add a footer to all topics, so I created a master page. If I apply that master page to my existing pages, they look fine. But if I create a new topic, it does not have that initial Topic Title heading. Instead it has a bunch of text stating "this is a body placeholder text for your master page....."Is there a way to get the start page I want, the footer and utilize my .css file all together? I was looking for a way to link my master page & .css file hoping that would give the desired result, but when I look at Linked Resources for either the master page & .css file, there is nothing there, and I'm not sure what to do to relate them (if that is the answer). I've been reading a lot
I'm working in Robohelp 2017. I deleted a conditional build tag called DM_Rich_Client from the project, but the project manager still shows topics flagged with the tag. In the first image, you can see the tag's blue line over the topics, and when I hover over any of those topics, I get a condition tooltip showing DM_Rich_Client as the tag. DM_Rich_Client isn't available in the CBT pod, and it's not available in the CBT list when I right-click a blue-lined topic and use the menus to try to remove the tag from the topic. I checked the topic properties and the tag doesn't show in the Topic-level Tags list. The DM_Rich_Client tag was used to flag the topics for the biggest help we generate from the project, so it would have been applies to approximately 2600 topics at the topic level. As far as I can tell, the Project Manager still shows the tag on all of those topics.I deleted a number of tags at the same time I deleted DM_Rich_Client, but it's the tag that left a ghost in the
Hi,I have recently begun using RH 2017, and I am facing a peculiar problem where I am unable to generate the PDF or Word output through the Printed Documentation output profile. When I try to do so with the default setting, I get this error "Server Busy. This action cannot be completed....."I am using Word 2013 on my system, and have also enabled the Macro Settings under Trust Center. So, i am not sure what should I do to resolve this? Thanks
I have an issue when I put two images on top of each other when I am editing a page. As you can see in the editor, the images are stacked together and there is no spacing between them:But when I try to view the topic in a view or html response, RoboHelp puts a space in between the images:Now it may seem strange why I am trying to do this and not just merge the images together into one image, but I may, for example, want to change the top or the bottom image individually. So why is RoboHelp putting a space in between the images in the output?
We have a webhelp project where many images were added by saving them to the project folder through Windows Explorer (outside of robohelp). The images are then added to the topic from within robohelp. These pictures will show up in the topic correctly but do not show up in the project manager pod. The project publishes correctly at first, but at some point, the image files have a tendency of completely disappearing and erasing from the project folder. I understand that adding pictures from Windows Explorer is not the correct way of importing images into the project, but this tends to keep happening on the project. My question is why do the images appear in the topic and publish correctly? And what could be causing them to completely vanish from the project? (I checked the project folder from Windows Explorer and the files are completely gone).Any help is greatly appreciate. Thanks.
Hi,In a text Topic, I need to create a link that will open a network folder. The display text could be Open folder. In that folder, the user will be able to select a document to copy on his hard drive.I do not need the files to be copied in the project, I just need the folder to open so that the contents can be executed or dragged elsewhere. Can it be done? Thanks.Pierre
Does anyone know if you can add an Outlook .oft file in a RoboHelp topic?
I am having an issue in my final WebHelp Output using Robohelp 2019 but the classic version.I converted a large 3000 page framemaker book and some images in the robohelp output are not aligned left. I mistakenly chose to align them left using robohelp but now I have the text wrapping around the image. I do not want the text to wrap, and I need the images aligned to the left. Can someone tell me how to fix this in my current robohelp project and when importing and converting for a new project to insure the proper alignment? Also, I did the same thing with some tables which were not aligning to the left, I have some tables with text wrapping around them.I have attached a screen shot. In this screen shot I even have a footer wrapping?!
My goodness, where is the documentation on how to navigate and proceed with a RH2017 project upgrade in RH2019? Opening RH2019 for the first throws one into a completely new user interface, with no guidance on how to navigate, let alone work with a converted pre-RH2019 project.I just upgraded to RH2019 (been using RH for several years now - since RH2015) and tried to perform an upgrade of a RH2017 project. The "upgrade" seemed to complete but then when I attempt to generate my Responsive HTML5 output I see an immediate failure related to cyclic dependencies in the index cross references (?). From the log:...Starting responsive output generation.Processing metadata...Index cross references have cyclic dependencies.Output Generation Failed. The same project has been working fine in RH2017. So what's going on here? Absolutely no information in the log about which index entries are problematic or how to go about fixing this. And why is this an issue in RH2019 and not RH2017? Yeesh...Anyone
The tiny little graphic to the left of the text (Which when generated displays the filename of my project) is our company logo and "Home" button. It appears to have squashed the logo down to a miniscule size and I would like to remove it. I cant work out how to do this. Any ideas? Also Custom URL 1 and 2 are unnecessary in my layout and Id like to remove them too. Any help would be much appreciated.
