Hello everyone:Background: My company upgraded laptops, so I'm setting up my new system, including RoboHelp. I just upgraded to version 2019, Update 2 (but want to use RH Classic).I did a quick test to see how things would go. I successfully generated my files using the Responsive HTML5 output. (I verified my FTP connection and credentials were all still valid.) Upon publishing, I received the following error: "Publishing has been cancelled. Failed to create directory: site."I checked with our IT team, and they verified that things were working properly on the server side.Have any of you seen this error, and can you possibly advise me on how I might resolve this? Thank you in advance.
Hi everyone:I'm in a bit of a jam, and sure could use some help. I was given a new laptop by my company, and to make a long story short, I'm unable to publish my Responsive HTML5 project to my company's doc server. I spent 2 days troubleshooting this, with no success. Fortunately, I can manually FTP the files over with no problem, giving me more time to troubleshoot the issue. In the meantime, I need to remove an pointer from my TOC that is pointing to a topic that is no longer needed in my Help. While I can easily delete the help topic from the server view in my FTP tool, I can't figure out how to remove the TOC pointer to the (now) removed help topic.I see that the root folder of my project (but NOT the output folder) has my <TOC name>.hcc file, but I can't figure out how and where to move it via FTP so my help project will update the TOC properly (and not reference the pointer to the removed topic any more).TLDR: How can I update my project's TOC using a manual FTP process (Fi
So I've been the lone tech writer with my current org for about a year, and the pace of work has allowed me to basically revise help files based on the quarterly release or NPI schedule, push it out, and then start working on the next release. There's been no need for version control or to set up a means to collaborate. Just for reference we have a combination of SW only and SW/HW products with CHM and/or HTML5 help outputs. The pace of product development is picking up dramatically and not only will I need to be working on different releases simultaneously from the same source file, I'll possibly be hiring another writer early next year to handle the increased workload. So in planning for this, I've tried to use the Collaborate>Add to Version Control function in Robohelp 17 to set up a repository in SharePoint but get a 403 (forbidden) message when I try to connect to my TechPubs SharePoint site (of which I'm a Power User.) Has anyone run into this? Is this something a SharePoi
I want the Adobe RoboHelp 2019 to generate the PDF of the selected topics in Dynamic Filter in Responsive HTML 5.Let me demonstrate the question through an example. Following is a list of topics.1. Home2. Introduction3. Country3.1 Country 13.1.1 Entry 1 for Country 13.1.2 Entry 2 for Country 13.1.3 Entry 3 for Country 13.2 Country 23.2.1 Entry 1 for Country 23.2.2 Entry 2 for Country 23.2.3 Entry 3 for Country 2I have created the dynamic filter for both countries (Country 1 and Country 2) and compiled the Responsive HTML5 Help. When a user will select any country int he filter, then she/he should be able to download a PDF Manual for the selected country (even if I have not created and uploaded it in Responsive HTML 5). How can I make this possible?
Hallo. Danke!
Hi,I'm using RoboHelp 2017 Update 2 for our new product documentation, which will be an HTML5 help with a customized Indigo layout. The product has two different GUIs, one for casual users and one for more experienced users and administrators. The help content between the two GUIs can be switched with dynamic content filters. The two GUIs are constructed and designed completely differently and I think it would be great to have a dedicated glossary for each GUI.Now I'm looking for a way to switch the shown glossary depending on which of the content filters is activated. Is this even possible? The glossary files don't seem to have the "Apply conditional tag" context menu entry. Alternatively, can I somehow apply a conditional tag to specific glossary entries (terms and definitions) in the same glossary file? Otherwise people who can only see the casual GUI will be bogged down by complex terms in the glossary which have nothing to do with what they can see, and advanced GUI users wi
FILTERS QUESTION /// I have a merged project (currently 25 projects merged, approx. 1000 topics) using RoboHelp 15, MSIE 11, Windows 7 ENT. I’m using filters. Sometimes the filter works perfectly (search returns only results matching selected filter), but sometimes the search results include topics that do not match the filter (YES! All topics have tags, so only the filtered content should be listed in the search results). AND sometimes when I click a topic in the search results the topic won’t show in the topic pane until I clear the search filters. All the merged child TOCs that don’t match the filter should disappear from the parent TOC nav pane, but only some projects/TOCs disappear. Why does this happen? Is a tag somehow being applied at the text level without showing on the Project Manager? Is this a Master Schema xml issue? Thanks for any insights.
I have been using RoboHelp for many years and am currently using RocboHelp 11 and have already purchased RoboHelp 2019. I have a merged help system with (7) separate help systems tied together for my companies software package. In the last few days I am seeing very strange behavior when opening topics. Normal has a Times New Roman font at 12 pt by default. Now when I open any topic, the font display is flipping between Times New Roman and Arial at 8 point, although Normal is stable. But when I pick that drop down, all the different Headings are shown, but the list goes away one entry at a time from the bottom up until all you see is Normal again - you can't change either the font type or size or pick a new Heading.I thought this might be something OS related, I was using a Surface Pro 4 with Windows 10 Pro version 1803, so I re-downloaded RoboHelp 11 11.0.0.179 and installed it on a Surface Laptop also running Windows 10 Pro version 1803. Moved my pr
After upgrading from RH 2015 to RH 2019, I have display problems in all my projects; mainly related to bullets and numeration.Example:This is how it looks when I open the Topic (first time after the upgrade): everything seems okayThis is how it looks when I click View Item: Strange: bullets became numbersThis is how the Topic look after I closed the viewer, Opened a new Topic and come back to check the old one: Topic auto saved with numbers and the bullets are no longer displayedIs there any way to fix this problem?
Hello wise forum users,I have used RH for about 8 years. I think I know the answer to my problem, but I'm hoping I've overlooked a "there's an easier way"........which, if true.... is not entirely surprising.. In the past, I've used conditional build tags to create Content Categories and Print Documentation in WebHelp. They've worked well, although the tags grew to be a tangled mess and required a lot of thinking. Still, it worked and continues to do so with document updates. We've transitioned to RH2017 and at the same time, moved some of our docs from WebHelp to Responsive. During that transition, we also revamped our doc structure and now conditional tags are only required for the odd file, text, whatever, so the info can be excluded from or included in the Print documentation. I happily discarded all the newly obsolete tags.....NOW, I need to create another Responsive document, using about 8 files from the main Responsive doc, just to publish them to Sharepoint for inter

Our Rh projects use linked FrameMaker books. Cross-references in the Fm files are converted to hyperlinks in Rh. I'm looking at the hyperlink properties in Rh and see options for how the link behaves. But the cross-refs are always set to the Page Default. I can change the settings one hyperlink at a time, but when I update the linked Fm file the hyperlinks are all replaced. Is there a way to set these properties during the Fm import process? For example, making an imported x-ref open in a "auto resizing popup"?
I recently transitioned to TCS 3.5 and have noticed an issue with my generated browser-based Air help where the left pane (Contents / Index / Glossary etc) is way too large (far larger than the longest topic name). This was not the case with the exact same project generated as browser-based Air help in TCS 2.0. I saw this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/3295664) which alluded to this same issue with RH 8 though in that case the author wished to increase the size of the pane. This issue has been consistent across Firefox and Internet Explorer and at differing screen resolutions. I know the width of the left pane can be manually adjusted but my audience is not exactly tech savvy and this would not be intuitive for them. The response to the RH8 thread indicated that the size could NOT be adjusted. I am hoping that this is not the case for RH - OR - at least someone can explain why the same project generated in TCS 2 does not reflect this increased width issue.Any assistance would b
HelloThis may be a daft question but I cannot locate the answer anywhere. Here is a list of what we have:Mac OS (High Sierra)Parallels Desktop 14 running Windows 10RoboHelp 19GIT connection via BitBucketScenario: I need to make a connection through RoboHelp to GIT with a SSH key. I can view the SSH key on the Mac OSQuestion: I cannot figure out in Parallels how to view the "hidden" files OR the SSH key. What I fear is that I can only do that with Parallels PRO edition.Does anyone know if there is another way to do that? Thanks
Hi,Currently I have some generic issues with RoboHelp Calssic 2019 when trying to link/import fm files. I can work with a produced pdf from fm but not with xml or book. Plus I get a message that FrameMaker 2019 is not installed , even if it is, and can't seem to find an answer for this in the Forums nor the documentation.
Is there a 32-bit version of RoboHelp 2019 available? The 64-bit trial version is not compatible with my PC.
Hi,I just upgraded. I previously was able to put hyperlinks in the header or footer on a master page and have it apply to all of my pages. I can still do so, apparently but when I publish the Responsive HTML, the links don't work. Instead of referencing the output folder they are referencing the development folder.Any suggestions? I've tried everything I can think of. This is RoboHelp 2019.
My IT Department just set up a new server and we just updated to RH2017. I went to pull my project from the server and I received the following error: Error - database 'Consumer_Banking' has not been configured on the server machine. How can this be fixed so that I can pull my projects into RH2017?
Hi, I am getting "file:///C:/Users/lija.nair/AppData/Local/Temp/~hhE9C7.htm" error while trying to print a pdf from chm. Please help.
Hi there, My design team has asked if I can utilize the menu button in the desktop version of the Indigo layout. Does anyone know how I can bring the menu button forward so that it is visible when a user views it on their monitor? I suspect I will need to be able to move the menu, and make it available for desktop. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or better yet, the solution to my problems. Note, I have been able to successfully do everything else so far! Thanks!Stephanie
Hello team, I am trying to modify the look of the overlays (Glossary, Favorites, etc;) in the Indigo layout, but cannot figure out where to compile the files to (or even how to compile the files). Can someone help? PS -HUGE thanks to this group. I have actively been following your posts, and suggestions, and have learned so much. Look what I have done so far! (now on to the topic pages).
We just upgraded from RoboHelp2015 to 2017. We opened our 2015 responsive HTML project in 2017. Is this all that needs to be done to "upgrade" the project? I was able to create the RHTML5 output, but the predictive search doesn't work. Is there a different way to "upgrade" the project other than opening the project file (after deleting the CPD file)? Is there a setting in RH that "turns on" the predictive search capability that we need to do? We are still using the Charcoal_Grey screen layout. I saw another team within our company that upgrade a similar project using the Charcoal Grey screen layout and their predictive search works in 2017 output.
Hi there,I've reviewed the online product details, done some google searches, looked in the forums and even tried Adobe chat ('there is a waiting time of appx 44 mins...') and am *still* confused - so I'm hoping someone here is able to categorically answer this:Is AirHelp still an output format in RoboHelp 2019? As far as I can tell they stopped developing it after RoboHelp 9 but I don't know if this means it is no longer supported.I have a product I developed using RoboHelp 8 which does now not appear to be compatible with current MacOs customers and some Windows customers (they keeping getting told they need to be logged in as an adminstrator to run the program even when they have confirmed they are already logged in as admin). I wanted to rebuild the product using the lates version of RoboHelp but am not sure if it's even supported. Thanks in advance for any help.
I use WinBatch scripts to automate the process of opening, generating, and closing RoboHelp Projects. In RH2015, when I opened a project from source control, RH automatically opened a "Connection Details" window followed by a "Get Latest Version" (from source control) window before opening and displaying the project in the main RoboHelp window. In RH 2019 Classic, when I open a project from source control, RH still automatically opens the "Connection Details" window but no longer opens the "Get Latest Version" window. Did this change between RH 2015 and RH 2019 Classic? If yes, does the system no longer get the latest version of each file, or does it automatically get the latest version without asking? If it did not change, am I missing a setup option that I need to change so that the "Get Latest Version" window displays by default when opening an RH Project using RH 2019 Classic? Thanks!
I am using RH2019.0.2 with Responsive HTML5 outputs.I have unchecked the 'Include Index' option in the output settings but the index still displays in the generated output. Is there something else I need to set?
