One of our RoboHelp 9 projects is not opening up with the TOC open on the left.  It does have a link that says "Show", but the preferred opening would have the TOC already expanded.  All other projects open this way.I do have the box "Show Navigation Pane Link in Topics" under the Navigation page of the WebHelp settings. I matched all webhelp settings with another project that is opening correctly.What else can be done?Deanna

Every time I try to generate a PDF for review, RoboHelp 11 shuts down. I've tried all different ways, locally, send as an email attachment, send for review. Show files in Project Manager, Table of Content. I've tried sending it to a shared server. Everything come up with a problem in RoboHelp looking for a solution which it never finds and I have to shut down. Need help big time! Thanks

I'm using RH 9 and I have a CHM output.We redid our intro page and it is markedly different in style from the other pages. It doesn't have a master page.It has a dark background from its css.But all the other topics have a standard.htt master page and they have a white background from their css.I'm trying to figure out how to control the breadcrumb style on the initial page so that it respects the style sheet of the current .htm. The Breadcrumb comes from the layout definition:You can see the breadcrumb here in the top right is a nasty blue color. Yuck. My other pages it looks fine because the background is white:Ideas on how to style the breadcrumbs on just that page?I know the workaround here is to probably remove the above check box and instead apply the breadcrumbs inside the .htt header. But I'm working in a source repository and that change makes a change to all 1400+ htms that use the standard.htt, and I'm trying to avoid that.

I have RoboHelp 11. I recently upgraded from FM 12 to FM 2015. After the upgrade I can not import FM books (12 or 2015) into RoboHelp. On import, I get the message "This operation cannot be completed without Framemaker. Install Framemaker and try again".I've tried re-installing both FM 2015 and RH 11, but problem continues.

I was happy to see the Show/Hide widget in the RH 2015 Azure Blue layout. I assume it invokes the expansion/collapse of the DHTML content on a page. However, I have not successfully implemented it! What is the correct procedure? Edit the Topic (Default)] in the Azure Blue layout.Select one of the Text Box divs  (This is probably the issue. Where should the widget be inserted?)Select 'Dual State Show/Hide' from the widgets menu.Save the project and generate the Responsive HTML5 output. it is unsuccessful.One of two things happens:  Either Help system will not launch--the loading graphic does an endless loop, or the system launches with a damaged TOC. For example, the TOC only shows the content icons/no text.Thanks in advance for any assistance!

The instructions say to disable auto save, deselect "Save Without Prompt" in the General tab, but that option no longer appears in RH 2015. Is it now deselect the "Check in all files when closing the project"  in the Version Control tab??

RH2015 - After generating user help via Responsive HTML5 output, no vertical scroll bar is appearing on topics longer than the screen length. I am also unable to click in the topic and use the down arrow key to view entire topic contents.

I've generated an HTML5 output and I would like to add dynamic content filtering on it.However, I've tried but it didn't work. I would like to understand step-by-step how to configure this feature. Maybe you'll know a guide or something, because even in Adobe material I didn't find anything.See my steps:1st - When generating a responsive output, I enabled the option "Use DCF in the output".Next, I clicked "Customize".2st - I filtered by menus (because that's the filter I am creating, by different menus of a software).At last, after I've generated it, the output shows up the filter icon. RoboHelp 9 is creating two entries for every single topic in the Search tab. One link is correct, the other gives a "This page cannot display" warning. This behavior began recently after making a copy of the entire file to begin a new phase of the same project.I've searched a great deal online for an answer (including P. Grainge) and have tried many approaches suggested. From generating a new .chm to a different folder, up to and including trying to edit the various system files, such as "projectname.hhp." (In this file I found topics duplicated, but editing out the duplicates made no difference.)I would greatly appreciate suggestions.I'm running Windows 7 on a 64bit OS.

I'm using WebHelp with Robohelp HTML version 11.We're using a skin and 508 compliance checkbox is not selected, which is the display we want to use.Is there a way to added hover text for "Type in the keyword to find?" I run RoboHelp 8.0.2.208 on my work computer.When I access my work computer from home using the VPN, I have trouble with RoboHelp. I can open RoboHelp and the Starter screen displays, but when I try to open a project using File->Open Project, the application freezes. I end up having to use the task manager to "exit task" to force RoboHelp to quit. If I open RoboHelp and use the links under "Recent Projects " on the Start screen, RoboHelp will open the project but it does not let me do anything after that. The application again freezes and I have to "exit task" using task manager.Should RoboHelp work over a VPN? Is there anything I need to change about my VPN to get RoboHelp to work?

This is an elementary mistake but I have been caught by it a few times. I am posting this tip because it might help other RoboUsers.Webhelp files cannot run if they are inside a zip file. They must be extracted from the zip.If a user attempts to run a webhelp system that is inside a zip, they might see a blank screen, an error message, or a partial help system that does not work properly. Extracting the files from the zip should fix the problem.If you distribute a webhelp system in a zip file, for example if you are asking people to review a draft help system, I recommend that you explcitly tell the people to extract the files. If you do not, some may try to start the webhelp without extracting the files and of course it won't work.BTW I am using RoboHelp 10.

Is there a fix to allow .htm files to display in Chrome? Files are stored locally and I've applied the local fix. Do we need to publish to an FTP site? Your assistance is appreciated!Beth

I am linking a FM book in RH and most of the things are converted without any issues except for tables. I edit for the conversion settings for FM documents and select the table, then I edit the selected table where I change the fonts, borders, width of the table. None of the changes to the table is reflected in RH. I don't want any borders and I want a different font in the table? The table refuses any changes. When I right click the table to select the Table Properties >  Table Borders > None, the change appears in RH but do not appear in the browser. Only the top and the left borders reflect the changes the rest of the table has the borders. Does anybody have a solution to this problem?

Hi All,After converting my RH7 project to RH8, RH added a Glossary tab (which is empty, by design because we don't use them) and removed the Search tab. I am trying to remove the Glossary tab, but the Delete option is greyed out. I deleted the .glo file from the project folder and reopened the project, but all that did was give the Glossary file a red X. I have searched this forum, but no one else seems to have this problem.Can anyone help me permanently delete the Glossary from my project?I also can't find how to add back the Search tab. Can anyone help me with that, too?(If these are simple tasks, I apologize in advance. I've onlly been using RH for a few months.Thank you for your help!!

When some users are importing large amounts of content, it causes folders to disappear. The content is still in the project but the folders have to be recreated. Is there a way to prevent this problem?? Smaller content imports??

Hello,Despite all my searching (here and elsewhere online), I've been unable to figure out the why (and therefore the way to fix it) of my problem, so I turn to you hoping someone will be able to help...We've been using RH9 Classic to create our help files in the WinHelp 4 format. We are now moving to the HtlmHelp format. To do that we've created a new project importing all the .BMP images and .RTF files (and .HH file for the IDs map) and then generated the help file.At first glance everything seems to work perfectly even the contextual help from the app displays the right topic, but there's something strange when you try to search for a word (or select a word in the index associated with multiple topics) : the results show the topics' IDs instead of the titles !Here are 3 screen captures demonstrating the access to the same topic, through the TOC, the Index and the Search tabs :Any idea where that could come from ? I have just upgraded from Acrobat X Pro to Acrobat XI Pro. I had shared reviews that were not over yet. Can I "import" these into RoboHelp XI?

I really want to create modern looking help that doesn't have a clunky TOC from 1998 on it - just a landing page. All the marketing info for 2015 intimates that I can get rid of the TOC all together but the help doesn't tell me how to do it.  I have a trial version of 2015 that I am evaluating (my team currently uses RH10) and not sure I want to upgrade if I can't get rid of the TOC. I am used to RH over claiming on functionality, so am skeptical that this can actually be done...but hoping that it can be.

How do you create a font set in Robohelp 2015, as there is no Format menu in this version where the option was located previously? The help still says it's under the Format menu.
