I am delivering chm from Robohelp 11, using minitocs. When I click the print icon to print an individual topic, the print worksWhen I click the print icon to print a selected heading and all subtopics I get this error: TextPopupInit is null or undefined, not a Function object.I am asked whether I want to continue running scritps, and must answer No to proceed to the print dialog.Does anyone know the problem and what to do about it?
Hi,Thanks in advance for your help. I am having more problems with the RH's Govt template. The forward and back buttons would not appear, so I have created my own buttons and incorporated into my user guide. However, there is an underscore appearing in between my buttons (it's not on my images). If I remove this underscore from the Topic (default) page of the template, it removes one of my buttons. My developer can't figure this one out either. Also, when I add the Alt text into the HTML code, it does not appear when I generate the file. Here's where I am with this now:RH's Back/next does not work, so I went into the Layout and added my own buttons, which appear here on the Topic (default) page of the template. What are all the underscores?2. This is the generated User Guide - any attempt to remove this underscore will delete the button on the right.3. This is my coding. You see that I have the Alt text in the coding, however, it does not appear in the generated user guide.
Hi,I am using RoboHelp 10 and have generated output in HTML5 format. Everything works fine as expected including Search. However, in some cases when i select the check box 'Show results that include all search words'. Search does not provide me the results. We are typing the exact string present in TOC and still displays that there are no search results. Please find screenshot attached. Is there any limitation that the string should contain only limited No. of characters? Thanks in advance!Santosh.
Compiled roboHelp 10 project, browse to start page, if I click on topics on the TOC section, I get this error sometimes, this comes from Robohelp java script script, any ideas?Object doesn't support property or method 'RegisterListener'
how can I set webhelp window size when launching webhelp
When generating a word doc from RH7 everything works fine except for the roman numbering in the TOC footer. It begin with a "v" (5) instead of "i":The roman numerals count up on the following 4 TOC pages - so, the TOC is numbered from v to viii. The body of the document starts on page 1 just as it should. I've tried every setting I can think of to no avail. As an aside, I have an un-numbered cover and next a copyright page before the TOC but if RH is counting those then I should be starting with page iii on the TOC (which would aggravate me only slightly less - two roman numerals worth, to be exact). Is there a way to fix this or should I just shave my head and resign in disgrace as the company technical writer? Thanks in advance!
When attempting to create CHM for a large RoboHelp 10 project, the process fails with the following error:HHA Version 4.74.8702htmlproc.cpp(114) : Assertion failure: (pszTmp == m_pCompiler->m_pHtmlMem->psz)There are 2400 topics in the project. Some 'out of memory' errors have recently been displayed when working on the project. I have followed some basic advice which I have found on the forums to change the path for the output file. I have also created a new Single Source Layout, and tried a variety of settings within the HTML Help Options dialog, with no success. I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks very much.
Does a Screen Layout Page apply to only non-HTML5 output such that layout options for HTML5 are restricted to Responsive or Multiscreen Layouts and related customization? I am looking for a way to increase the height of the title bar.
Hi,In our team we generate PDF's from RoboHelp 11 via Word 2013.When the .docx file is generated all styles are mapped from a word template. The issue is that the table styles are not applied even though they are mapped in RH, all the other styles is applied as normal.Does anyone have any experience with this issue? Thanks for your help,Erik
I would like to style some of my images (adding margins, etc.).Styling in RH11 works fine for text, but when I select the image, the formats drop-down where I select a style becomes grayed out.Given that you are allowed to apply a class to the <img> tag, this seems arbitrary.Short of manually editing the HTML, how can I style an image in RH11?
If I were to edit my RoboHelp source HTML files outside of RoboHelp, what does the community recommend? Notepad? Wordpad? Word? If you want to know why, my boss does not want to pay for another RoboHelp license.
I have a collection of over 15 word documents that I need to import from word (2013) to RH11. I prepared an .isf file a few weeks ago and then upgraded with the recent patch. After importing my word file, the Table of Contents appears as desired, but instead of importing the topics for Headings 1, 2, and 3 into topics, I am getting a long list of bookmarks. I have checked the Pagination checkbox for the headings I wish to appear in separate topics, but this does not seem to be working. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to overcome this problem? Thanks in advance
I'm using RoboHelp version 9.02.271 (just upgraded from 9.01 since that wasn't working.) After I compile my WebHelp project, the TOC pane appears completely blank and I can't search for any topic. It doesn't work when I use the defaults for compiling and it doesn't work when I use my own TOC, master page, index, and CSS file. Any assistance you can give is appreciated. Thanks, Sally C.View Source in TOC:<html><!-- saved from url=(0014)about:internet --><head><title>Search Frame</TITLE><meta name="generator" content="Adobe RoboHelp 9" /><meta name="description" content="WebHelp 5.50" /></head><script language="javascript" src="whver.js"></script><script language="javascript1.2" src="whproxy.js"></script><script language="javascript1.2" src="whmsg.js"></script><script LANGUAGE="javascript1.2"><!--var gbIndexLayerInit = false;var strWrite="";if (window.gbWhVer&&window.gbWhProxy&&wi
Hello,I'm currently working in Robohelp 10 and using a modified version of the desktop layout. We don't need the Glossary tab in the sidebar, so I'd like to replace it with a Videos tab instead. I was able to add a new tab to the sidebar without a problem, but I'm having difficulty figuring out where to go from here. Ideally, when users click on Videos, I'd like it to launch one of our topics that already lists all our current videos and includes links to them. Is it possible to do this? Or is my only option to manually add the video links to that tab's section in the Topic.slp HTML? I'd like to avoid this if possible, since it would mean maintaining the videos list in multiple locations within the help project. Thanks in advance,Alison
My 30-day trial of RH11 is about to expire, so I need to decide what to do.I am our company's only help author, but I use RH11 on my computer at the office, on a computer at home, and on my laptop when travelling.I looked for, but couldn't find, information on how the RH11 EULA addresses what must be such a common use case.Any suggestions?TIA...
I own a Perpetual license for RoboHelp 6 which has been doing just what I need for sometime now. The system it was installed on is no longer available and I need to reinstall to a new system. Unfortunately the old license server is no longer available to activate the license. I have been unable to get phone support for this issue so far and the chat person online could only tell me to upgrade (1000.00) to the latest version or try the forums. I only need this product for it's most basic functions, but I do need it for those functions. If you are going to take the license server off line then you need to offer perpetual license holders a way to get their software up and running. Seems to me that the license agreement works both ways? Regards,Chris
RH10 did not generate TOC or index after I updated a project by reorganizing and deleting several topics. I used the broken links editor to create new links but this did not solve the problem.
When viewing output in IE the magnifier icon in the search field moves – it is shown underneath the search field
We use RH10 (version 10.0.1.292) to generate WebHelp. Our current project has 3706 HTML topics and 13,119 index terms (MS-HKWD entries embedded in the HTML). Recently, our users have encountered problems with their WebHelp index not loading properly: when the project is first opened, sometimes the index pane is empty. This is usually corrected by reloading the project, but it is frustrating for users and seems to be happening with greater frequency. The problem does not appear to be permanent and happens intermittently. The majority of those reporting problems are running Windows 7 (service pack 1) and IE (versions 8, 9 or 10), although users have also reported problems using Mac OS and Firefox. (We have inserted the “meta tag fix” to emulate IE8.) We wondered whether the problem could be something to do with the size of the index. Is there a maximum number of index keywords that can be contained in a RoboHTML10 project? Or a recommendation, if the maximum has not been defined? I have
I have generated and published the files for multiscreen html5. The default screen layout is Desktop_layout. When I access index.htm directly from the published location, every function and all details work beautifully. However, once I host the published files in IIS, and type the URL in Google Chrome, the screen layout is all messed up. TOC, Index, Glossary and the Search function does not work. Please help/suggest/guide.
Version: FM11/RH10Our FrameMaker manuals have note, tip, and caution paragraph tags utilizing the method here: Adobe FrameMaker: Adding an Image in Front of a Paragraph | ROCKY MOUNTAIN TRAINING blogHowever, the images in the graphic frames do not import into our WebHelp projects, and we have been forced to insert them manually for every note, tip, and caution paragraph....very time consuming.I have read elsewhere that only images in anchored frames import. I am wondering if another author has had the same issue and found a way to resolve it. Is there a way we can get these images to import? Thanks.
I am trying to export my robohelp file to PDF. However, when I go in to generate the PDF version, some of the links do not look the same way as they do in robohelp or in a HTML version. They all work, but some of them have longer lines underneath the hyperlink.I have double checked under the HTML version and in the hyperlink properties that there are no extra spaces in the hyperlinks and they still appear this way in the PDF version. Any ideas how to fix this formatting issue? Thanks.
I created a new folder under another folder. The new folder is not visible inside my project but shows in Windows Explorer. Also, if I try to add another folder of that same name, it denies the action since the folder (although invisible) already exists. My co-worker can access the same file (on a share drive) and see the new folder just fine. This error occurs whether I was the one creating the new folder or she is the one creating the new folder. I am new to RoboHelp and she has used it for years. I suspect something is not yet set up right on my side. Ideas? (I thought I posted this yesterday but I can't find it anywhere)
Hello, all.Easy question with hopefully an easy answer. Is there a way to make the drop-down text appear above the linked text instead of below? In other words, can I turn it into drop-up text?Thanks.-Ryan
So I am trying to move towards generating HTML5 output instead of Webhelp Pro, understanding that I will lose the capabilities offered by RoboHelp Server. However, it is critical for me to have the ability to call topics using a TopicID, because the software calling the help system, which currently calls the html pages directly, will be switching to HelpID calls in the next version (for technical reasons aimed at simplifying everyone's life). The problem is, these calls are made directly with URLs - meaning, there is almost no possibility that the software code will include the RoboHelp API mentionned in the documentation.I found a way, through some Googling, to do this. The URL format is: http://yourdomain/path-to-output/index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=0&rhmapno=4321 where 4321 is the TopicID (or MapID, I always get confused between those) that is properly defined and mapped to a topic. However, there's something really strange going on when I use this method to call a page: the navi
