I have been using RH 2022 for quite a while now and I am finding that it often adds <br /> to my html. I don't want it to do that. Just about every day I have to go into the html view and delete a <br /> that RH added without my permission. For example, I never press shift-enter. I am not sure what I am doing that causes this. Does anyone know how to avoid this? Does anyone else have this problem?I am using RH 2022.2.22. Thanks,Jim
We are still working with a trial version of RH2022, working our way through the steep learning curve. Part of the process we're struggling with is with how we have been using the !SSL! files. Currently we deploy RH user guides to various versions of our process (Development, Staging, QA, Production) by copying and pasting items from the !SSL! output folder (Printed Documentation and Web Help folders that are in the !SSL! folder) that are created in RoboHelp 2017 that have all necessary RoboHelp files including the index.htm (our compiled project) and Printed documentation (Word and PDF). So far, we do not see a folder similar to this !SSL! output folder in RoboHelp 2022.
I had always thought that the search engines were unable to crawl and index RoboHelp content for SEO purposes. But several of the pages on my client's site www.numbercruncher.com are showing up in search results on Google. Can anyone help me to understand what the constraints are for this? Or send me somewhere I can get the details? I've been searching everywhere and not sure where else to look.
I have been experiencing some of my child project pages that are published appearing one day, then some random day the page is blank. This is random throughout my child project (6child projects). Is there a reason why that a couple of my child project pages are appearing blank, when in fact they are published with no broken links or broken page, and no error code? Thank you for the help!
Once upon a time we started to use Robohelp9 and compiled our code with Visual Studio 2012.We are think about moving on to a much newer version of Visual Studio but we are concerned about whether our code will compile successfully, given that we are linking our code to hhctrl.libAny thoughts will be much appreciated.
We have just upgraded help source files from older version of RH to the latest one found that the new version has a lot of formatting issues and also not the user-friendly.We are struggling to fix the simple text formatting tasks, such as applying bullet styles and other. Even the options and their (names) terminoloties in a style creation section are also not user-friendly. Mentioning here some of the formatting issues we faced while working on a project:Style: There is no (simple) option to add spaces before and after the text/style. Mini-TOC: By default it has its own style which not appearing properly in the output. Same issue is there for Related topics placeholder. Related topics: It comes with a placeholder option, but you will have to add all the related topics list in its window which is harder than manaully dragging the topics from TOC to its section.List styles: Options for both OL and UL are not user-friendly. It includes text for bullet styles, such as disc
I upgraded my project from RH2017 to RH2020.Now, when I generate a HTML5 output and then publish to a File system, the the link to open the files for RH2020 output is differenat than for the RH2017 output. The results look like this:2017 - https://.../tutorials/#t=online_tutorials.htm2020 - https://.../tutorials/index.htm#t=online_tutorials.htmIs there anything can I do to my RH2020 output so that it acknowledges, looks like, or redirects from the previous RH2017 link?Thank you.
Hi,I was checking the search results and I found that for Phrase search we need to put quotes. I have attached two screenshots to show the difference. In the first image_1, I entered the search query How to create a pipeline without quotes and it generated 236 results. In the second image_2, I entered the same search query with quotes and it yielded 3 results. I have two queries here:1. How to streamline search using Robehelp search settings in Preset to yield only related searches.2. Why do we need to provide quotes, is there any setting to enable it by default? image_1 image_2

I'm using the fauture save as pdf in printing dialog of Google Chrome to print the file. Why one of the paragraphs on the file has smaller font than the others? Let's say all paragraphs(but one) has font size of 10, then, there is one that has 9,7. Just one paragraph. The file itself consists an AOL email trail and messages are in rows, one under another.
Hello! My project has three different documentations for three different tools. I want to bring them all on a common doc portal. I am using the Frameless skin preset for this. I am trying to achieve a scenario in RoboHelp 2022 in which only one TOC (or tool documentation) opens on clicking one card/box. It should not show the other two TOCs, and likewise when I click on the other box-Child proj 2, then it should only show the TOC of Tool2 and so on. When I merge the three child projects in a single parent project, all of them appears as a single TOC in the parent output. Is there a way in RH2022 to separate all the three user manuals and show them separately as a single help?
Good afternoon, I really wished I was done with all our issues but this one is yet another major issue. Our output/hmtl files are referenced in several internal application and link are not to be updated unless previous approval because it impacts several projects. When deploying the output to a test environment, the links implemented in other applications returned 404 errors. After further review I noticed that if you click the link from the TOC the backslash is replaced by %2F, URL Encoded value of the Forward Slash (/). and #t= was also added appending the start page. I included below examples and really hope someone has a solution for this issue because this was not happening in Classic.Right clicking the link from the TOC: file:///D:/outputs/Claims/pagehelp/Adjust_Claim_-_Claim_Detail_help_realtime.htmClicking directly from the TOC: file:///D:/outputs/Claims/oconlinehelp.htm#t=pagehelp%2FAdjust_Claim_-_Claim_Detail_help_realtime.htmThank you in advance,&n
This is probably a really basic question, but how do I apply autonumbering to PDF bookmarks?I've defined autonumbering for h1 and h2 in the layout.css of the PDF template, and would like to also display that numbering in the PDF bookmarks: Thanks in advance.
Has anyone successfully deployed the RH chatbot in a frameless output? I see in Adobe's instructions that the RH chatbot output gives you the embed code to add it to your site. the issue here is that navigating a frameless site via the TOC prevents JS (other than the default topic.js) from firing on the page as frameless uses history changes and does not load the entire page when clicking on a topic in the TOC (other people have posted about this issue on this forum). So currently, their chatbot will only load on the main/welcome page but not anywhere use if you use the TOC. BTW - testing this locally does not work as the actual source files are loaded with each click. You have to push the output to a server to reproduce the push state/history js issue. I am using RH2022 update 1, blue lagoon frameless skin. others have reported this issue with 2020 and other frameless skins. The common dominator is the frameless output its
We recently upgraded to the latest version of RH. Now, when generating my parent.rhpj file, I am missing several files in the generated folder resulting in the left nav of my project not having the required books and toc. What am I doing incorrectly?
Hello everybody, good morning.I need to correct the MapsIds that appear broken on this screen. I don't know the reason why these MapsID are not working or are broken. Is there a way to restore them automatically or do I have to reconfigure them one by one?Thank you very much for the help! [moderator note - continued from https://community.adobe.com/t5/robohelp-discussions/missing-maps-id-in-the-report/m-p/13977044]
HiThe index files are missing in the left panel (under the author tab) when we migrated a project from RH 2017 to RH 2020. Please help me to find the right solution.
We are considering upgrading from RH2017 to RH2022 and are working with the free trial version at the moment. Gradually, we are figuring things out and learning, step-by-step, but have hit a snag. We can't seem to generate and publish a Word document to a file in Sharepoint, which we will need so that team members can comment on (and in) Word documents. We did have one of our IT crew give us a path to Sharepoint, but the problem remains.Any suggestions?
Hello everyone! Good afternoonWe have a project in RH2017 with 580 Topics with their respective Maps Ids. Only 20 of these 580 appear in the Maps Id Report. The 20 that appear in the report show "No Browse Sequences" in the Browse Sequences field. Those that do not appear in the report have a letter in the Browse Sequences field. How can you solve and relist the report with all the topics? We attach screens with an example of each caseI look forward to any help you can give us.Thank you so much!! Mara
As the subject line indicates, I am using RH 2022 and experimenting with importation of MarkDown files (.md) and am getting unexpected behavior.Selecting File\Import\Markdown File, then choosing the desired file, I briefly get a "Markdown Import" progress dialog in the lower right corner, which is quickly covered by an "Application Error" dialog, which, when Dismissed, returns to the "Markdown Import" dialog ... which never ends until Dismissed. However, the file is apparently correctly imported as a topic of the same name (as the md file.) I am new to Markdown syntax and so my testing is quite simple.Given the apparent success of the initial test results, I wonder if these are simply nuisance bugs, or is there something to worry about!
I was working on a project for a long time. After some weeks I opened it again and when I tried to edit a custom css file, I can read this message:So when I publish the project, all elements who have a css class which is included in this css file are not correctly shown, because RoboHelp seems to ignore this stylesheet...Any idea about this issue?Thank you very much
Hi all,I am using RoboHelp version 2022.1.128 and I am working on a project with the following setup:* I have defined the structure of chapters and topics.* I have configured a page layout to use a certain css file.* I have configured the use of the template studio.* I have configured the frameless preset to use the defined page layout. When I generate the output, I check in the topics that they are using the css of the template studio although if I inspect the page I see that in the header it has the reference to the page layout css.I don't understand if there is any priority in the use of css, can you help me please? Thanks in advance
Just a suggestion to allow the entry of the next new Map record in an empty row at the end of the table. When one is creating a heavy number of map IDs, it becomes increasingly inconvenient to have to scroll back up to the top in order to click "+" to enter a new one. It would be golden if the table simply let one enter the next new record in an empty row below the last row containing an existing record. Nick
We created a new table of contents and then we created new output (frameless) and generate a new Robohelp file. After generating the new Robohelp file, as a developer when we were updaing the new Robohelp file in the application; it didnt update, the application was running with the old robohelp file. I need to know, why the new Robohelp file is not updating the in the application?
If I edit a Microsoft HTML Help preset with a string like "User's Guide" and generate the output, the resulting chm file's window shows "User&#39;s Guide". I realize this is the hex code for an apostrophe but short of hacking the *.rhpj and/or *.preset file(s), is there a more straightforward way of using the wonderfully reimagined UI to do so?Many thanks.
